Wilson could hear his weapon murmuring quietly before the catoblepas’ raspy voice finally turned into an outraged yell. [YOU. KIDDO. YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN TAKE HER ON WITH THE STATE THAT YOU'RE IN?] Wilson winced, but it wasn’t like the two horsemen could tell from behind the mask. But I need to do it to stop them from attacking the barrier. It makes sense, doesn’t it? I'd just be dead weight otherwise. There was more grumbling from the weapon, but no further words were spoken.
“Anyways,” he began as he rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck. He examined the two monsters with wary eyes as he mulled over Gramps’ words. After the mental beating from the past few weeks, was it really wise to do this on his own? He hummed quietly. Too late to turn back now. “If you could stop damaging the barrier here I would really appreciate it.” His tone was polite, but the words were hollow. As if they would stop just because he asked for it.
Man. And his birthday had been yesterday too. Some birthday that had been.
There was a soft whirring from his weapon, causing Wilson to click his tongue quietly. He stood up straight, his legs spread out slightly and bent. His arms covered in cannons, he lightly gestured at the chieftain. “Alright. Come at me.”OOC Wilson is targeting Shaheen! Shaheen moved away from the barrier, flipping her dagger to her other hand, eyeing the hunter with his weapon, but still smirking, always smirking, as though she knew something that he didn't. "Come at you?" Her voice was almost sweet, almost, as she placed one hand on her hip, and began to flip her dagger over and over in her hand, holding it almost lazily, before something in her gaze turned deadly. "If that's what you really want!" Her voice changed to a growl, her smirk slipping away as she suddenly clutched at her dagger and spun forward in a flurry of feathers, swiping at the masked hunter with her shining blade. OOC Shaheen is targeting Wilson, obv.! The dark-skinned woman was grinning at him and Wilson didn’t appreciate it. It wasn’t just any old grin either; it was like she knew something he didn’t. As a death hunter, he was supposed to know things. Then again, what if the smile was a fake? Something to get him to pause and to overthink just like he was doing right now? He furrowed his brows and huffed. Horsemen.
“Yes,” he confirmed, gaze never leaving the blade twirling in her grasp.
There was a flurry of dark feathers moving across his field of vision. He could feel a sharp pain in his side. Wilson squeezed one eye shut and let out a quiet gasp before he stepped to the side to avoid further damage. “Not bad, I suppose,” he said evenly, straightening up and lunging forward to swing his cannons at her.OOC Wilson is targeting Shaheen! Oh she liked this one. He was a fighter, just like her! The cannons slammed into her hard, and she was sent almost reeling to one side, her skin splitting as blood began to slowly drip down her side. The pain was nearly as wonderful to her as the call to battle, and she just continued to smirk at him, wings flapping as she righted herself before folding back down behind her. She reached out with one hand, wiping it down the length of the blood running down her body and holding it up to look at with a gleam in her eyes, before she settled that burning amber gaze on the hunter once more. "Now that's more like it." She practically hissed. And then she got herself in more battle ready position, feet spread, crouched down, wings partially spread behind her. "Now you come at me again." She was practically cackling at him now, ready for him to hit her with his best shot. OOC Shaheen is targeting Wilson, obv.! Wilson was used to fighting now. It was startling. A year ago, he would have never imagined of battling another person so seriously. He tried to avoid violence if he could. He wanted everyone happy, after all.
Well, he wasn’t exactly fighting a person at the moment. The woman appeared human enough, save for the splotches of grey and the dark wings sprouting from her waist.
He leaned back, observing Shaheen as she wiped away blood. She was more battered than he was and yet the blond still enjoyed it. Wilson could fight, but this woman loved it, craved conflict—or so he assumed. She smiled as she urged him to take another shot at her. He cocked his head at her as if to ask her if that was really the wiser decision given the current situation.
[I’m not complaining.] Behind the mask he still looked incredulous, but obliging lifted both arms to bash her in the head.OOC Wilson is targeting Shaheen! As he moved forward and sent his cannons crashing down toward her head, she ducked slightly to the side, raising her arms to deflect the blow. But the cannons were much heavier then she had anticipated, and her left arm crumpled beneath it's weight as the metal struck grazed the left side of her forehead, splitting skin, washing her face in a half-mask of blood. Her shoulder was next, and the blow numbed her arm, loosening her grip on her dagger which she quickly flipped back into her right hand. And still that smirk never left her face, even as blood trailed down past her lips. She wasted no time in driving her dagger towards him once again, before spinning away. She was finished with this one. He was not nearly as interesting as she had first thought and she had better things to do. OOC Shaheen is targeting Wilson, obv.!
