I'm not a turtle! // Well you Hide in your shell well

It was a quiet day. The kind of days that Seth liked. Not many people seemed to be about which meant he'd be able to go off and find a quiet place to enjoy the outdoors. He really need to get out more often and in truth he really had little choice because he'd been locked out of his room by a very demanding and controlling treat. She was determined to keep him healthy and this time it was being outside. He'd originally thought about reading somewhere in the commons area but he'd heard people in there so he'd decided to return to his room and that was when he found it was locked.

He had his reaper book and a small assortment of other books in his arms as he crossed toward the Lake where he know there was an alcove he could hide away in and read in peace.

It was a cute little place slightly shaded with a view of the lake with trees surrounding a small clearing that was big enough for him and an assortment of books and if need be an additional person not that he welcomed such a thing. He liked to be a little hermit secure in his little shell of a comfort zone.

Hel, by nature, was an outdoors being. She loved being outside, not only to feel the pumpkin sun on her two toned skin, but also to better herself as a being and a warrior as well. Today was no exception.

Pardon the wingless valkyrie though, if she seemed disgruntled as she stomped along a path near the lake through the woods. Her gaze was turned towards the trees where a raven made out of her FEAR was soaring along. She was working on her newest natural ability. She learned she could summon a raven to serve as a guide but…the raven was a trickster.

Three bushes and two ditch drops later, could one blame Hel for being a bit ticked?

Still she followed, because what other choice did she have?

The raven ended up soaring into a small clearing, and Hel huffed as she stepped through the small door way of trees into the little field. Huh. She paused, adjusting her bag across her shoulder and scanned the area. The raven came to perch above an alcove of sorts, and then disappeared. “Well then…” The reaper muttered under her breath, though her annoyance couldn’t last too long as she caught sight of someone else in the small clearing as well. Naturally curious, she went to investigate, the annoyance caused by the raven cast aside for now. Hmm…this student seemed to ring a bell, Hel realized as she got closer.

Like she had seen him before…but she couldn’t but her finger on it.

OI!” She boomed to the boil, grinning a bit now as she drew closer. “What are you doing out here, friend?”

Seth was irritated more at his treat than anything else when he heard the raven overhead. Raven's weren't to be trusted. He'd never had a fondness of the creatures. They were worse than snakes. Snakes were deceptive but they didn't try and make you trust them.

He'd ended up laying down on the soft grass with books spread around him all cracked open to random pages that seemed to hum. The soft humming was the enchantments tied to the pages. He'd been careful with each and every book when he'd enchanted them. They would turn with only the flick of a wrist so long as they were open. No wind would turn the pages they were secure till he told them to flip it was a masterpiece to the young enchanter. One of his favorite successes.

He wasn't even paying attention to the departure of the raven or the approaching Ghoul tell she boomed at him. His shaggy haired head glanced up from where it had be reading the current book between his arms. He shifted his right arm up on it's elbow and he pushed up his glasses and peered at the ghoul. "Reading." He used his right hand to gesture at all the books about him before he dipped his head back to the book. "Better question, why are you following a Raven?"

Hel couldn’t help but quirk a brow now as she finally stood in front of the young reaper, looking around at all the open books. Ugh. Reading. A nemesis of Hel’s…or an extreme dislike of hers. Why was he reading so many books…was he reading them all at the same time? Why did this kid look really familiar? All these questions plagued the reaper as her brow now creased in thought until he questioned her.

“…Why am I following a…? Oh! That.” Hel paused. “Working on my newest natural ability…” She informed, tilting her head. Deciding that continuing to look down at him was a bit tiresome; Hel flopped to the ground now instead, sitting cross legged as she leaned forward. “Even better question…are you reading these all at the same time?

Seth decided to look back up from his book when she settled down in the grass. She was an interesting ghoul to look at, two toned with a natural ability that was of a reapers capacity. He'd seen her one day as he'd slipped past the commons area. He was sure he'd seen her around with how many times he seemed to get locked out of his room.

He looked back down to the book between his arms and thought over his response. "Book are knowledge. Knowledge is Power. Besides the fact that I love to read" He flicked his wrist and the book below him flipped through a rough handful of pages before settling at the beginning of a new poem. "I've an even better question. Who are you, and why does my reading cause you to question my leather bound comrades." He quirked an eyebrow glancing up at her. Book were a sorcerers best friend as well as the assortment of items he had on his person that he could enchant if they were not priorly enchanted.

Ooooh.” Hel hummed a bit. “You are one of those, huh?” She replied with humor. “…Those as in you love books.”

She watched as he flicked his wrist and the pages turned on their own. At this little trick, Hel couldn’t help but grin with delight. “Ooooh!” She squealed. “That is nifty! That is some magic of yours, ya? Oh, ya, even better question!” The ghoul held a dark hand out to the boil confidently. “I am called Hel! Hel Brynhildr! I question your books because honestly, I do not enjoy reading, and I think a better use of time is spent outside training…ya know…actually doing. Even better question now than your last question. What is your name, friend?”

One of those. Seth supposed he could be classified as 'One of Those' but he wasn't just one of those. He used them. The written word was his power it was his fear. He was always looking to expand his knowledge but he also found words that could cut deep just by their meaning.

Nifty she said. Enchantments were nifty, he supposed they could be deemed nifty. It was his inclination one he preferred over the druid or reaper paths that his older brothers had taken. It took him a moment to realize a shadow passed over the grass extended toward him for him to realize there was a hand extended toward him. He shifted his left arm up onto it's elbow before taking the ghouls hand firmly with his right hand."You did not one up my question though, you merely returned it, how is it then a better question and not an equivalent question?" He would answer her on his name but he had to pose the question. "My name is Sethinous Cadmus. I have been called Seth however by all my siblings." He had chosen not to comment on her doing and training comment because for him such things were found in his books. Physically he'd never need any power or skill because he'd master enchantments and be surely fortified and protected by his trinkets. That did him no good in school though and he would forever overlook that detail till it was brought screaming forth to his face.

She grasped his hand tightly and shook it firmly before releasing it, and gave a short laugh at his statement.

Aw, you are not flattered by my thought that knowing your name is far more interesting than knowing mine?” Hel teased, and then reached out to pat Seth on the head. “I shall call you Seth as well then, if that is alright with you! I am no sibling, but it is not as wordy, ya?” As the reaper did mention siblings though, Hel perked up considerably. “How many siblings do you have, friend? I come from a large family! I am youngest, and I have eight older sisters!”

Seth stared up at her as she teased him. He looked back down at his book just in time for his head to be patted. If he'd been an irrational boils he would have just glared at her and asked if she though him a dog but he wasn't irrational so he didn't do that. He supposed it was meant more as a friendly gesture. He had older sisters that responded in kind to him, though it was more condescending when it came from them. He did grin at he comment though. "That was why I mentioned what my siblings called me. Sethinous can be a mouthful and is sometimes difficult for others to pronounce correctly."

He flicked his wrist in the opposite direction from before and the book's pages flew in the opposite direction giving him something further up in the book. "I am the sixth child of thirteen. And the only one who does not have a twin or a triplet. Three older Brothers, Two Older Sisters, Three little brothers and four little brothers." He merely hoped he wouldn't have to name them all off because he felt they all had mouthful's of names. Sethinous, Petrousek, Rinalthia and Olethia he would never understand where the names had all come from.

“Seth it is!” Hel affirmed with a return grin as well. She watched with interest as he flicked his wrist and more pages turned.

“…Ah!” Hel cried, and then raised her hands up and shook them towards the sky. “Someone who understands coming from a large family!” The reaper uttered in awe and almost gratefully. “But a middle child, huh…? I could not imagine my parents caring for any scarelings younger than me right now…” Hel moved her hands back and rested her weight on them now. “So, what brings you to Amityville, friend?”

Noticing the ghouls interest with Seth's enchanted book he thought on the matter before deciding what to say. "You know if you want something that is enchanted I could enchant something for you so long as it's a minor enchantment." He'd learned to enchant small things. He could enchant an assortment of little trinkets, necklaces, balls, even a few sticks so that others could use them if needed. His main focus however was still on the book between his arms. It was an interesting book, A ghost had complied a variety of poems from throughout the histories written by other ghosts.

Her cry about understanding a large family was true indeed. He understood how it felt to be different from all your siblings, he understood how it felt to be the middle child and how it felt to be one of many. "My parents have endless bounds of patience and we have an even large support from the rest of the family because they both come from equally large families, not as big but still." He didn't think He'd have as large of a family as they had, his sisters would manage that, carry on the family tradition and stuff. He couldn't image having to deal socially with them all.

He glanced up at the ghoul when she asked him what brought him to Amityville. He just stared at her for roughly a minute. She was honestly asking him what brought him there. It was startling most assumed it was his brother and most would assume right on that. After the shock passed he found his words."My siblings before me have all come to Amityville and Petrousek even returned for a short while to teach. How about yourself?"
