Around the world, people are waiting in anticipation of the release of Blade Master Online. The original release of the game back in 1999 suffered from bugs and was finally taken down after a hacker attack on the game's main server, which crashed the game and destroyed much of the game data. Since that time, Neural Extract, the creators of the original Sword Burst Online, have been tirelessly working on creating an updated version of the game. Blade Master Online was first teased at E3 2005, beginning widespread media coverage on the game, which released several trailers and screenshots over the last few years. It was only last year that NE released trailers revealing the game's classes and combat system. There have been many speculating on the decision to upgrade the original game from a 3D game to a virtual reality simulation. Over the last year, there have been only a few mmos brought over into the virtual reality realm of gaming. Amongst those are Maple Tree, Guild Warfare, and .Hackers. Now it seems that Blade Master Online will take a spot amongst those few that have stepped into the future of gaming. NE has said that Blade Master Online will release on the new Sony VR 2 system rather than the old VR 1 used by other games of its genre. This means that the game will have improved graphics, smoother gameplay, and less lag. While it is only a few days from the game's release, the team at NE has stated that they will continue to work on fixing any remaining issues with the game up until the midnight release.

Electronics Insider

With the upcoming release of Blade Master Online, gamers are rushing to buy the new VR 2 systems. Sony's VR 1 system was released in 2009 as the first true virtual reality system, giving players more than just simple 3D graphics. It actually immersed gamers into their favorite games and created a boom in the world of massive multiplayer games. In 2010 issues were raised by concerned parents about the VR system, stating that it could be a health problem and even dangerous to use. This was supported by the fact that many gamers spent hours or even days playing games on the VR without rest, resulting in some having to be hospitalized. However these issues were dropped as it was found to be the fault of the gamers and not the product or the company. Now with Sony's new VR system, they hope to continue pushing forward. They have stated that while the new VR 2 provides better graphics and an overall greater experience than its predecessor, it restricts the player to the bedroom like the previous VR. With virtual reality gaming systems, gamers' bodies are made immobile while they move freely in the game world. Sony has stated that they plan to address this issue by creating a new VR system that is portable and allows the gamer to move while they play in virtual reality. We can only wait in anticipation for the release of their VR 3.
