Bio: Eugene had grown up in Celadon City his whole life and enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle of the popular town. Not allowed to go into the casino, he spent his childhood hanging out in the shopping center and watching the trainers coming through town on their way to and from the gym. Some would leave happy and proud, others were sad and dejected. More often the latter than the former, so he thought that he could bring some smiles to those people.
And so he began his time as a juggler and performer. He'd dress up in his flashiest of outfits and grab his juggling balls and stand out by the Celadon fountain, juggling and trying his best to cheer up the people who'd stop there to try to reconfigure their strategy. There were some people who didn't take nicely to it and would tell him to scram, but he kept at it because of the ones who did appreciate it. Some even went so far as to tip him a little pocket change and it only made him happier.
One day, while Eugene was performing, there came a competitor who was down more than usual. He had sighed heavily and sank to the floor as he watched little Eugene dance around and juggle. But no matter how hard Eugene tried, he just couldn't get this guy to cheer up or react in anyway. After a few moments of silence, the young trainer had told his short tale of his attempt at taking on the gym leader and how he didn't stand a chance. So, having given up completely, he had given Eugene his only pokemon.
Opening the pokeball, Eugene was greeted by a great big smile and a very jolly voice, "Gastly!" At first, Eugene jumped back in fright, his juggling balls scattering around him. He hadn't seen a ghost pokemon before (and for good reason) and couldn't decide where to hide. While he was trying to figure that out, the Gastly picked up the juggling balls with his ghostly abilities and began to toss them around and juggle them. He'd pass them over head and then throw them high up into the air before letting them fall and "swallowing" them, only to start juggling again. After a few seconds of watching this, Eugene heard himself giggle and became less and less scared of the playful Gastly.
Years later, Eugene and his Gastly, "Giggles" still perform for everyone and have more fun than he could possibly have alone. But after staying in Celadon for so long, Eugene feels it would be good to go out with Giggles and share their act with everyone they meet. Maybe they'll meet more people and pokemon like themselves and increase the size of their troupe. Only time will be able to tell.
