Masters of the spear, they excel in crowd control and mid-ranged assaults. To test one with steel is to put on trial the strength of a dragon.
The dragoons were originally founded under the name “crescent knights”, by Commander Drakenborne II of the Order of the Roses. Renown as a practitioner of the spear, the commander had the crescent knights trained as mid-range combat specialists. The crescent knights fought on horseback during the Twelve Year War, but gradually shifted to foot mobiles. Their order eventually gained esteem during the defeat of the harbinger when Commander Drakenborne led his crescent knights into battle on the back of a white dragon, earning the order the name of dragoons.

Combining strength and speed, they wield dual swords to rip and tear through enemy ranks. A single one is worth ten foot soldiers.
Where ordinary knights are sworn into the service of kingdoms, hedge knights have never owed allegiance and have taken on a role similar to elite mercenaries. During the Twelve Year War, hundreds of wandering hedge knights were called upon and hired. Though the harbinger's monsters fell many soldiers, hedge knights made a reputation for themselves as professional monster slayers during the war, emerging from the aftermath as expensive sellswords who would take on any job and slay any monster for the right price.

Breaking through the frontlines of enemy armies with heavy blades, they devastate their foes with punishing blows. Against one, running is a viable option.
Juggernauts were the war masters of the battlefield during the Twelve Year War. Shrugging off enemy attacks and crunching foes beneath their feet, they had even become feared by their allies. Earlier juggernauts were forced to take drugs that numbed their pain receptors and drove them into a state of berserk rage. These earlier practices were banned after it showed that the drugged juggernauts were slaughtering as many allies as enemies. However, even without the use of these drugs, the heavy knights were no less deadly against the ranks of the harbinger's monsters. Following the war however, juggernauts became listed as a last resort soldier, too dangerous for regular duty.

Graceful and agile weapon masters, they show off their skill in flashy combo attacks. To look upon one in combat is to see but a flash and a blur.
Unlike the soldiers of the regular armies, reavers were little more than glorified criminals. When the war began, the kingdoms rushed to draft soldiers into their armies. Criminals who showed some skill with a blade were pardoned and drafted into a special company of soldiers that specialized in moving and striking quickly. These soldiers became known as reavers. During the Twelve Year War, they acted as infiltrators and reconnaissance units, providing sensitive information and dealing a heavy blow to the harbinger's inner ranks, which softened his army for the final attack which ultimately defeated the harbinger and his monsters.

With a shield and sword both, they are the first and last line of defense. With each blow upon their shields, their sword found the heart of an enemy.
The vanguard were the frontline soldiers during the Twelve Year War. They fought the first of the monsters when the war broke out and for twelve long years, endured the brutal onslaught. Charging into the boiled depths of the war with battlecries screamed out in defiance, they were present when the kingdoms broke the back of the harbinger's army. While all know of the name of the knight who struck the final blow to the harbinger, few know that he was but a simple vanguard soldier. They were the most numerous in the kingdoms' armies and the most important.
