 Hunting, hunting, always hunting. It seemed the pink male was out of the pride more than in it. It suited Malik just fine. Despite the fact he had his mother here, he was alone at the same time. The one female he had been interested in... She seemed to have just completely vanished, leaving him confused and a bit sad. Still, the yellow eyed male had a job to do of feeding the pride. Or at least helping feed the pride.
Today he was scouting ahead of the hunting party by himself to make sure they had a target instead of wasting half of the day searching. The male tossed his head and tossed his mane out of his face as he stood on a hill and looked around, sitting down on his haunches and sighed, stretching out. It was still early morning, but he felt exhausted already.
A huge sigh escaped him as he laid down and looked up at the sky. The hunting party could be without him for a little while. He had gotten up way to early for this. Stupid hunting party wanting to go out at the crack of dawn. He wanted to sleep in!

 Ochieng had been watching the stranger for a while now, stalking him from a distance off. She knew if she got too close he'd probably hear her, so she was content to just view him from far off. Normally she would just go right out in the open and shout some greeting or another, gaining his attention and probably his friendship as well. Ochieng never understood when other lions mentioned the difficulty of friendship... you said hello, you exchanged names and you were nice to each other. How was that hard? But in any case she'd just decided to follow along for as long as she could, undetected, for the hell of it. Call it being weird or call it boring, she wouldn't have minded either way.
His pink pelt reminded her vaguely of her family, though it probably shouldn't of. She hadn't seen any of them in many, many moons. When he suddenly sat she frowned a little. "Boring." She whispered to herself, her voice painted in tones urging the other to move on, not that he could hear her. She started to creep forward, being careful as best she could.
Was he just going to stay here? This wasn't what she expected! So just as he was laying down she moved forward, no longer hiding, and flopped down just a bit away from him. As the huge sigh escaped his mouth an equally huge, if not mocking, sigh escaped her own. She was copying the adult male, it seemed.

Of course he hadn't noticed her right away. Malik was way too tired to notice much of anything other than how tired he was. It was rather annoying. With a mighty yawn, the golden eyed male sighed and looked around him, completely uninterested in his surroundings, currently. It seemed the slaves of the pride had more fun than he did. That made him worry a little that maybe the moon had chosen the wrong class for him. But, he'd learned better than to honestly question it. He was just in a rut, maybe.
Though, there was an explosion of cubs enough to keep anyone on their toes. It made him want some of his own, but he doubted that would ever happen. Looking off to the side, his brows knit together in worry.
However, his attention snapped to a female who appeared out of nowhere and felt comfortable enough with him to lay down way too close for his personal tastes. Getting up in a scrambling motion, Malik kicked up dust and coughed a bit as he did. "Where did you come from?!" He asked, his voice breaking because of the coughing and the fact that she had caught him completely off guard.
