It all started with one shrill, long, alarmingly manly scream. It was a genuine kind of scream, one of sheer horror and recoil. Not some little wimper from a papercut or a shout from something popping out at you during a movie; a real, honest-to-goodness, blood curdling scream.
Anemone had woken up about twenty minutes before her alarm was set; which was fairly routine for her. Reaching up around her head to find her glasses that were placed on the headboard every night; Anemone fumbled sleepily with the thick frames before slipping them onto her face.
For some reason, they weren't fitting right.
At first, Anemone thought maybe she had them on wrong somehow, in her sleepy stupor. But after taking them off, glancing down at them to make sure everything seemed normal and returning them to the bridge of her nose, she had confirmed something was indeed different. They felt too small for her face, her nose pushed against them almost defiantly... and the heavy frames weren't sitting on her cheeks like usual. However she was still sleepy and out of it; logically it didn't make sense that her glasses or face had changed and so it probably wasn't even a thing. Mornings made you stupid.
Deciding she probably needed the extra fifteen minutes or so of shut eye, Ane returned the glasses to her headboard. Rolling over with a small contented sigh, she began to adjust her twisted sheets. Ane tended to toss and turn in her sleep and always ended up cacooning herself in her blankets; she could never keep the sheets draped nicely over herself at night. As she shook them out above her body, Ane managed to catch a bleary eyed glimpse of her body under her sheets. Her knee-length nightgown had ridden up to her waist, and there was something odd about how straight her legs were and wait what is that buldge and oh my god- -
Anemone, realizing he had magically switched genders overnight, let out a rather impressive, still feminine, scream. This must be a dream. This had to be a dream.

The scream caused Theo's eye to twitch furiously. He'd been anticipating it for some time, since early this morning really, when he too found the rather sudden change to his body. Unlike poor Anemone, however, his transformation wasn't quite as noticable until your eyes managed to wander below his chin and towards his chest.
Maybe it was his already small, feminine frame, maybe it was because the world truly and utterly wanted him to know what suffering was, but Theo didn't look all that much different from what he normally did. A little more hippy, with clearer skin and slightly longer bob-cut hair, but there wasn't as much of a change... till you got to his chest. Things there were, to say the least, impressive...
Theo had found out about his new parts far earlier this morning, in a rather embarrassing incident he didn't want to recap on. Let's just say it involved having to use the bathroom, and not exactly having the proper parts to use a urinal like he was used to. It also involved a change of pants and underwear, but that was besides the point. Since this discovery, he had been laying awake in his bed waiting for Ane to wake up and just watching himself breathe... it was sort of hard to not watch himself breathe right now, what with these big balloons in his own face.
"You too, huh?" Was all Theo said solemnly, as he scooted up and off his bed, pressing himself against the room divider Anemone had brought with her and set up after learning that she was being roomed with a boy.
"How bad is it for you?" He asked, sighing heavily.
He should be angry and horrified at what was going on, but he just couldn't bring himself to be. This discovery, contemplating what exactly behind it caused this shift in their genetic genders, it was all too damn exhausting for him and right now he was more embarrassed at having jiggling boobs then angry at their existence and the nonexistence of his man-parts.

"I- I HAVE A-" Manemone stammered, face growing redder and redder with each racing heartbeat. "A...." He couldn't bring himself to say it. It was just so embarrassing. Rubbing his eyes, Manemone shoved his undersized glasses onto his face and peered over at Theo. "W-wait... you..." Squinting and taking another moment to rub his eyes once more, Ane rose an accusing finger to point over at the feminized Theo. "Y-you too! You have..." Ane trailed off, once more too embarrassed to complete his sentence (although less so than previously). He simply shrugged in defeat.
"What do you think is going on...?" He asked in a hushed whisper, pulling up the sheets around his lean frame protectively. Was this happening to everyone? Maybe if Ane went back to sleep he'd simply wake up a female again, this was probably just some really elaborate dream. Or maybe someone's powers were the culprit?
All Anemone knew was that he had no intention whatsoever of leaving this room until it was fixed.

"Ladybits?" Theo said, finishing Ane's sentence for her.
He could understand to an extent how this scenario was probably making her feel. After all, she was already sharing a room with a boy and now they both were swapped in terms of gender. And she was both timid and seemed to be on the conservative side, where as he was internally a bit of a perv and would never, ever admit it out loud.
It was probably overwhelming for them both.
"I...I dunno... I," Theo made a face, "I don't want to know. Uhm, I just... I want it to change back now."
Theo didn't want to leave the room either, but he could feel himself getting hungry and he would have to at some point. The issue was that his shirts weren't exactly... fitting properly at this time.
