With his ever-regal head tilted downwards, the hyena-boy mused silently in his thoughts as he leaned half against a tree, his toes curled to dip into the rather small pond before him.
It was days like this that he really enjoyed his time to relax, despite the few minor problems he had acheived beforehand. Tentative fingers reached up to feel the patch over his face, stuck on tightly to prevent any more attempted blood-loss. It had been his fault, really, but thanks to Vavalion, it had been... well taken care of. Scratches were nothing.
Ears twitching rhythmically, he opened his mouth and let out a guarded sigh; so many thoughts to consider - especially of Lola - yet... today, he just felt... content.
He hadn't felt like that in a long, long while.

Yawning and leaning up against a tree to stretch out her legs, Gyre looked up at the morning sun. So today was a good day to practice. Best to be out of the house and away from all the ruckus of spring cleaning. She tossed her head back and straightened up, deciding to take a walk before another session of ballet and attempted flight.
Adjusting the mask upon her face, she caught a familiar scent. Someone was nearby and she vaguely remembered them, but...who? Peeking around every corner, Gyre tried to determine where it was coming from.
She finally spotted someone after a few long minutes of searching, but she did recognize who it was. Loki. Lord, what did that evil thing want? Best to stay away, but still. She hadn't seen anyone in a very long time. Walking up to him slowly, she regarded him with contempt.
"Hello....Loki."

"Look what the cat dragged in." He murmured, tilting his head back as he regarded the bird Legend, a gleam of mischief shining in his eyes. He hadn't seen this one for a long while; it almost seemed like a long lost dream that he had met her in, but Loki had known better than that.
The hyena-boy huffed out a breath, and tensed up, turning so he could regard her fully, his ever watchful eyes staring at her.

"What exactly brings you out here? Last time we met, we couldn't speak. All we did was growl. I remember you biting me..." She said that last part a bit higher, but regardless of her current outfit, she wouldn't back down if need be. She still had teeth.
He'd grown too. Amazingly, she was quite impressed. So maybe he wasn't completely evil after all. Maybe. Gyre had grown too. And she could almost fly.

Squinting his eyes, Loki thought. He had no idea what brought it on in the first place... so all he could do was shrug.
"I thought you started it." Eyeing her over, he snorted, curling his lip up. What was she, a pretty pretty princess? Didn't look tough at all, but he still didn't let his guard down.

Gyre shrugged too. Thought she'd seen the last of the evil cat-creature, but apparently with growth came a more mature personality. Stepping a tad closer to Loki, Gyre softened her demeanor a bit. Maybe he wasn't so bad now that they'd stayed apart for such a long while.
She shifted the mask on her face with a finger absently. She couldn't think of much to say. "How have things been with you, Loki?"

"Exorcism, really," Loki murmured, waving his left hand. Indeed, a dark mark could be seen on it, threatening to spread to his fingers. He didn't really feel that Gyre needed to know everything; apparantly, she hated him, and that was that.
It was then he recalled - barely - the moments he had fought with her, and narrowed his eyes. It had all seemed so easy back then...
"What of you? Certainly you haven't come to waste your time here, after the show when we were babies," He snarked, allowing a snide smirk to show upon his face.

"I come here to practice ballet every morning. I wouldn't call that 'wasting my time'." she explained evenly. There was still some hositility, she could tell, by the way her body remembered how sharp his teeth were. But Gyre felt a little more at ease. The time they spent apart allowed them to grow and mature beyond the age-old fued of bird and cat. Or was he a dog?
"We've both changed drastically from when we were small. You remember my mask before?" the swan Legend hazarded to ask. Why not? She was curious.

Curiosity got the better of him, and his ears perked up. "Barely... you look prettier than you used to," Loki had to admit, clamping his mouth shut immediately after. The last thing he needed was for Gyre to think he was crushing, which he most certainly wasn't, thank you very much.
Drawing his lantern up, Loki pressed a hand against it almost possessively, now staring at her, as if challenging her to ask another question. He was almost like a book in this sense; wouldn't open up unless the pages were stroked.
