Last night had been a long one. Many hours Penthesilea and Yakut had stayed up discussing their progress and their future plans. With such a large mass of land to explore and only a small number of old members to find the odds were certainly not in their favor. Had any decided to return to their home land they would have likely found it abandoned. An abandoned herd was one ripe for the picking and while Penthesilea doubted any of the sisters would attempt a coup while the Queen was away it was decided that the best course of action would be to head home. Perhaps putting an end to the search would allow them to find stranglers who were returning themselves. Either way, they had been gone for long enough and it was time to go home even if it meant returning to nothing.
With little sleep between the two of them Penthesilea waited until late morning to get their journey under way. They had been pushing hard these weeks and had done so with little rest and minimal food to keep going. Now they would ensure they slept and ate properly returning with full strength as weakness could not play a part in their lives.

The time to return home had finally come. Yakut was looking forward to returning to the lands they had spent nearly their entire life on. There would be much work to do once they were back, no matter the size of the herd, even if it was just the two of them, they would continue on as generations before them had. Yakut knew that the herd would be at full strength again, the voices had told her so last night, they just needed to be patience and return home to continue on. There could be no herd if no one was there and without a Queen to guide any members there could potentially be chaos once more. That was something they could not afford.
After sleeping in a few extra hours Yakut roused herself at the sound of her sister and the beckoning of the voices. They were eager to be on the move as well. From the commotion in her ears she wondered what they would find today. More often than not they became louder and more excited when something was going to happen. Giving her muscles a stretch Yakut took a drink from the small pond they had slept beside. Noticing a stick resting against a rock beside her the dark colored mare nosed the stick until it feel to the ground before studying the way it lay. "Good day for travels." She told her sister after confirming it with the stick and rock.

In the weeks since he had left the herd in search of knowledge regarding these new lands Delnar had learned a great deal. For the most part the journey was easy, if not a bit long due to his short legs. Most of the Soquili he had met along the way had been helpful in one way or another, either offering directions, a place to rest or sharing information about their breed or the land itself. Still it wasn't enough. There were plenty more unanswered questions that needed to be dealt with before he could return home. Not one to do a job half-heartedly he would stay out here on his own, with Avan to keep him company when needed, until he had all of the answers. His herd deserved only the best and that meant all the information, not just some of it.
With Avan off hunting for a morning meal Delnar had some time to himself. This gave him the opportunity to attempt to plan out where they would head today. Of course the plans he made sometimes changed based upon what Avan could see from the sky, avoiding dangerous lands or guiding them around large obstacles. Grabbing a mouthful of grab grass Delnar considered his possibilities. They could either continue on their current path of double back slightly and follow the other path at the fork they had passed not long before calling it a night.

Penthesilea nodded to her sister. It seemed like a good day for travel. Though the sun was high in the sky a breeze kept the temperature from getting too hot. A few cloud dotting the sky, allowing temporary relief from the sun as she slowly drifted along. No large obstacles stood in their way either. Forest they could fly over and meadows could either be traversed on foot or they could fly there as well. They would have plenty of places along the way to rest and eat. "Then let us start." Unfurling her wings Penthesilea took one last look at the spot they had rested at last night before taking to the air.
After some time the pale mare spotted a small blue Soquili at the edge of the meadow. Even from the air it seemed smaller than normal. Perhaps a foal or one of those Usdia breeds. Deciding it was time for a bit of a rest anyways Penthesilea lead the way to the ground, landing a bit away from the small Soquili. Taking the time to stretch her wings before folding them at her side the larger mare approached the stranger. Taking a deep breath Pen knew the one she approached was male. He likely would not be any help to them, but it was too late now, he had spotted them and there was always the slightest of chances that this stallion had seen one of their lost members. Bringing herself to a stop a few feet away Penthesilea looked down upon the small stallion option to remain silent and see if either he or Yakut would say something first.

With a wind at their backs the pair was making good time in traveling so far. It would still be many days before they returned to their home but any small help in getting there was greatly appreciated. Along the way she had whispered her thanks to the wind for it's aid, the voices seemed to be pleased by this. Perhaps they had arranged for this wind. Following her sister the darker mare landed softly in the meadow, giving her pelt a good shake before following her sister towards the small stallion. Look at how tiny he is. Yakut was used to seeing those on the larger size, most of the herd was thick-boned with only a few being of a lighter built. But this stallion was small, small as a foal, though it was obvious he was no foal, he was full grown. One of them mini breeds.
Stepping nice and close Yakut took a good look at the stallion. He had a small horn protruding from his forehead, a strange pattern on his pelt that vaguely reminded her of swirling clouds in the sky and most peculiar of all he had wings growing at the base of his tail. "They're in the wrong spot you know. Won't do you no good back there." She told him with a nod of her head, casting a quick glance at her sister. "They didn't feed you well did they? Tiniest unicorn I ever saw." While she knew he wasn't a full sized unicorn Yakut did enjoy playing mind games and this stallion would be her victim today.

Delnar had sent Avan up ahead now that they had decided to keep to the path they had taken last night. It would mean cutting across a relatively large meadow. Often times meadows contained grass too tall for Delnar to effectively see over, so Avan acted as a second pair of eyes, guiding him through the sea of green. He knew it was clear from the last report Avan had given him so the eagle was sent to the far side to see what awaited them once they reached the next stretch of trees. Sometimes going into the forest was more dangerous than being out in the open, as predators could use the trees as cover. Trotting along Delnar was certain he could reach the trees by the time the sun was at it's highest, then they would rest for a bit before continuing on. He wasn't a fan of traveling in the heat of the day so did his best to avoid it.
Looking up Delnar saw two very large Soquili approaching. They weren't there a moment ago. With Avan too far away to do anything Delnar was on his own. He brought his hooves to a stop and waited to see what they wanted. The paler of the two simply looked him over without saying a word. It was the darker mare who spoke. His head cocked to the side slightly at her words. What was in the wrong spot? "I'm sorry, I don't quite follow you. What do you mean they are in the wrong spot?" What an incredibly off way to start a conversation. But the mare continued on and so he was forced to correct her. "Oh I am not a true unicorn. I am a mix of Minicorn and Putti." They were both Winds, he knew their breed well, very capable fliers though he had never seen any wear such decorations as this pair id.
