She'd cleaned up, visited Mitsu and gotten...no where with her, rested some more and then suddenly it'd hit her. There was something she'd sworn she was going to do after all was said and done. There was something that belonged to her, something she could easily just take and get it over with but she'd agreed to play the doctor's little game; she would earn her shoes. She would have those shoes.
The temptation to just take them grew stronger when she'd gone to the doctor's office to find he wasn't even in. A look was given to the closet and then his desk. She didn't know where the shoes were kept. Were they even in his office? They could have just as easily been in his suite. Oh well, she'd find out soon enough. But what to do while she waited for the doctor? She wasn't tired so napping wasn't an option, no one was on twitter right that second...maybe..his desk? She was bored. What was one or two drawers of curiosity? She tried one, finding a book first and foremost. Crime and Punishment? She'd heard of this book, she'd just never read it...maybe she'd have time for a chapter or two.
Whenever the doctor arrived he would find Candace settled comfortable in his chair, her feet propped up on the corner of his desk away from anything that she could have knocked over and disturbed and her full attention on the book in her hands. She'd almost forgotten she was waiting for him to return from wherever he was, finding herself very interested in the book's contents.

Entering the office, the doctor's eyes slid over Candace, and settled briefly on the book. Rather than disrupt her, he placed his legal pad on the coffee table, and sat down on the couch to go over his notes. There were several possible runners within the last year's batches of trainees, not to mention a few over-zealous children who still needed to learn self-control. His eyes drifted form the paper and lingered appreciatively on the lithe legs propped up on his desk before returning to his work. The power dynamics of the group were also fairly interesting, as they were especially sloppy, and full of weaknesses worth exploring further.

Upon hearing the door open, Candace did briefly glance up from the book to watch the doctor settle on the couch. She smiled and turned her eyes to the pages again. She'd let him work before she bothered him. Besides, this book was quite interesting. It had been too long since she read a book for leisure instead of some kind of text book or research material. Or something for a mission. And this certainly wasn't the kind of book she'd ever read before...
She felt eyes on her and looked away from the book again, catching H's eyes leaving her and giving a faint smirk. Candace quietly closed the book and held it up. "May I borrow this? I want to finish it. It's certainly interesting." And it really didn't surprise her the doctor kept a book like this around. Setting the book down on the desk, Candace got up from the chair and moved across the room to settle down on the couch beside the doctor, leaning in to leave a soft kiss against his cheek.
"I saw a cell full of students earlier. How fun~." Candace perked up a bit after that, looking terribly excited. "Are you going to weaponize any of them? I'd love to help with that I'm able." There was a pause as she looked ready to say something else but thought better of it. She was about to apologize for not assisting with bringing in those students until she remembered she'd promised never to apologize to the doctor; Candace also would have been lying, she really wasn't sorry at all considering she had her own little lady to bring in.

Glancing up he offered her a small smirk, "It's not the most comfortable of stories, my dear, but consider it yours for the taking." The kiss was sweet, by his answering smile was anything but, "Have you tired of your little pet so soon?"

"It isn't but I seem to be handling it okay. I've certainly never read anything like it."
The question of her 'little pet' was unexpected. What gave him that impression? She blinked, looking rather surprised. "No, I haven't. She's quite angry with me right now though so I'm giving her some space to calm down. I'd have rather taken her here by other means but..what's done is done." She shrugged and then smiled, walking her fingers up the doctor's arm. "Actually, I came to see you. You see...there's something in here that's mine and I intend to take it. Now's my chance to get it through honest means and hoping I've earned them before completely abusing my training as a Mist and just taking them." It wouldn't have been a problem if she'd never known of the shoes. She would have continued on completely oblivious to them, she wouldn't have ever considered coming into the doctor's office to steal them for herself.

He rolled his neck slightly and sent her a sly, appraising glance, "My dear, if you're asking for a treat, I'll begin to question just who is the pet here."

Candace couldn't help but grin. "I don't know~. You've pet me quite a bit so I don't think it's much of a question." Her fingers grasped his scarf and playfully tugged at it, leaning closed to the doctor and bringing her legs up onto the couch. "But you said I had to be either very good or very bad, so I can't exactly judge if you think I've been either of those things. Personally? I think I've been a very good girl lately. Would you agree?"

Reaching out he stroked the line of her throat, "Hmmm...I think a collar would be entirely more suited to a pet."

Wait..what? Candace's breath hitched as H's fingers moved over her skin and she tensed. Suddenly she giggled helplessly and tipped her head back a bit to allow him better access to her neck. "If we're talking about me, I don't do collars. I'll accept a necklace, though. But for her...I'm not opposed to collaring her." She shrugged.
Hey, wait! That wasn't what she came here for! Candace's smile fell and her lips pouted, furrowing her brow as she sat up and grasped the man's hand. "We can talk about collars and pets later. My shoes, H." She leaned in again, still pouting, and brushed a light kiss against his jaw. "I want them."

"If you act like a pet, my dear, I'm afraid a collar is all you'll be getting from my hands this day," his smile quirked, and eyes lowered, "...though of course, if you'd rather beg for treats..." his voice trailed off into a speculative humm as his hand slid down.

"Doctor~." Candace purred, giggling again. She felt like a damn teenager again with all this giggling. Stop that! "There's a few things I'll beg for but shoes are not one of them. Especially those shoes." Her breath caught in her throat with a tiny gasp as his hand moved and she squirmed, closing her eyes tightly and hiding her face against his shoulder. He didn't play fair. "Don't you want to see me in them?" She asked sweetly, peeking up at the man's face through her hair. "Maybe even in only them?" This wasn't begging. It totally wasn't. It was bargaining.

"That...is quite the charming picture, I must admit, but ahhh..." he rolled his head back with a smile, dropping his hand still lower, "...when it comes to power, I am quite greedy you know."

Damnit! She pouted again. "Yes, I'm quite aware of that fact." Candace sounded almost annoyed. On the one hand she liked what he was trying to distract her with, but on the other she didn't want to let him win. She grabbed his wandering hand and climbed onto the man's lap, holding his hand away from her. "I'm only going to ask once more. I won't beg for them, but I will get those shoes one way or another." She tilted her head to one side with a sweet smile on her lips. "So tell me, H. Have I been good or bad enough for you yet?"

Eyebrows raised, the doctor cocked his head slightly, his smile growing toothy, "My sweet, delectable plum, there is no such thing." Twisting his hand, he gripped the wrist that had held it away, gentle for now, but firm with promise. "Enough is for other people."

The pout melted away instantly at that grin and the nickname, a goofy grin taking its place despite her desperate efforts to not let him distract her. Don't do it, Candace! You came here with a purpose! But what H was suggesting..it sounded so good--no! No, Candace! Stop it! But..but H..!
She loved it when he called her his. His plum.
He really didn't play fair. Her eyes flickered toward the wrist he now held before looking down at the man's face again, her cheeks flushing hotly. She knew what he was doing. He was toying with her, trying to distract her. Suddenly she giggled, leaning forward and resting her forehead against H's, her eyes closed. "You know, sometimes I really hate you." Candace whispered and leaned in for a kiss against his lips. Only sometimes. The other times...well..
"You're certainly not other people. I will get those shoes, H. They're mine." She stole another kiss, and then one more. "Why do you call me plum?" It was something she had wondered since she'd mentioned it to Clarice. He must like you a lot, she'd said. She'd said some other things too but Candace couldn't remember them clearly at that moment. "I do like it, it's just something I've been curious of for some time."
