It was bright.

For Mitsu, the immediate sensation of something cold, the strange, clinical, overly bright atmosphere of the room might have set off a thousand warning bells.

It was bright. Four walls, simple enough. A door: locked, of course. A large window-like structure of non-reflective glass, most likely a viewing chamber from the outside. Only a single bed.

She was alone.

OOC

-Mitsu is now in LAB B, welcome late arrival! She can see everything going on through the window which really is not much right now and just contains one bored guy in a coat that seems to be playing some sort of video game. Beeping noises occasionally emit from the speaker up top.

ALL HUNTERS

- All Hunters (given ooc permission by Eight/Mitsu please as this is her and Mitsu's plot!) can now visit LAB B, which is incidentally on the way to LAB A, so its not a stretch of imagination as to how they got here. They can also talk to the subject (Mitsu) inside, or interact/ ask questions with the lab tech (quote Zoobey)

PostPosted: Sat Jul 21, 2012 11:22 pm

Candace had dropped off her little prize to let the lab techs take care of her while she got herself cleaned up and treated. A bandage here, there...everywhere because bullets and daggers ******** hurt. A shower, a new coat. She'd even dug through her closet in desperate search of something. Mitsu needed a new dress. She'd been a mess when she'd brought her to the lab, which she felt genuinely bad about, so she could only hope the techs had cleaned her up in her absence. Candace did promise the first thing she was doing was giving the girl a bath. But her dress was ruined and she didn't feel like trying to repair it. She'd managed to find something that was a little too small for herself, so hopefully it would fit the smaller wolf girl. It was a pretty color, too...a nice blue.

It was tucked safely into a bag before Candace made her way to the labs, stopping at the one she had been told was designated for her own catch. She looked curious as she entered, looking all around with obvious interest. So this was where the students were taken when captured, huh...

Finally she spotted the tech, peering over his shoulder at the game without a word. How very attentive. "..Hey." She finally spoke, voice gentle. "Is there anything I need to know about her being in there? Things I can or can't do? Liiiike.." She lifted the bag and gave it a little shake. "Am I allowed in there? Things like that."

"Sec." The lab tech muted the microphone, the only thing Mitsu would hear and see was a screen that popped up where the tech once stood and some loud, blaring music of of Beethoven's 9th symphony and a video of a tropical sort of island with a fortress at its highest post.

"Welcome to Deus Ex Machina. Here, at our facilities, we promote the highest level of attention and care to all our specimens, including YOU. Don't forget to ask one of our lab techs for an in-depth demonstration on safety hazards and what not to do during the experimentation process." The image zoomed into a detailed image of a white-washed room with several panels and long cylindrical glass devices. "When entering the labs, make sure that you have no personal belongings on you as they may get damaged during the process. Please keep your hands and feet inside the cylinder at all times. Your safety is important to us. Have a nice day!"

Meanwhile, the lab tech in question gave Candace a once-over, and then returned to his game. After realizing that she was still here, put his game on pause. "... Weren't you here with the other trainees or are you just stupid? You know what, just- just don't answer that. Here. Let me explain how this works. If you would like to help in the-" They made quotation fingers - "'Weapons Candidate process', then your goal is to subdue the specimen, interact, blahblah, ultimately, you gotta win her over to the dark side, any tools of the trade is fair game." They rolled their eyes as they say Candace's bag. "Maybe later, not right now, on duty. Unless you wanna do it in the washroom or something..."

Finally, after a longer awkward pause, he pressed another button, the screen clicked, and the captive was shown once again. "If you keep this button pressed down," the tech elaborated, "They can actually hear us and see us, like right now. I'm sure that's easy enough for you to understand. I hope."

OOC: TRIAL AND ERROR

STUDENTS:

- At this point, the RP is divided to STUDENTS (contained within) and VISITING HUNTERS (any Hunters who want to talk/examine/ visit the students), making it more "orp" style
- VISITING HUNTERS can talk with the techs, they can speak through the microphone to the students. If you are being quoted by a VISITING HUNTER PLAYER, that means they are trying to address you.
- For the sake of making things clearer, please post below (after this prompt, only ONCE is enough), a small description of your character, so everyone can ICly know what they look like and work from there.
- Your student can talk back/ respond however they want to the VISITING HUNTERS /TECH through the window. They however, cannot use any Fear attacks, or even try to attack each other. The room feels normal enough, but physical exertion does make them feel weaker.
- Students CAN see more or less vaguely shadowed-out (but still recognizable) faces of the VISITING HUNTERS. Students can also interact with any VISITING HUNTERS around by QUOTING THEM
- If a VISITING HUNTER has posted [EXIT] at the top of their post, it means they have left, if they post [ENTER] it means you are free to interact with them.
- WILL GAUGE: ALL STUDENTS have a will gauge. This is divided into four points. You can start at any % you want, though for IC reasons, most of them probably start pretty low right now:
gaia_crown [ TRUST ] How much does your student trust the Hunters so far. The lower the percentage the less trust they have/ the more suspicious they feel.
gaia_crown [ CALM ] How skittish do your students feel? The HIGHER the percentage, the more calm they feel about things, the lower, the more anxious.
gaia_crown [ OBEDIENCE ] How willing are your students to follow instructions/ do as told/ listen to things going on? The HIGHER the percentage, the more obedient they become.
gaia_crown [ APPROACHABILITY ] This is how friendly/ approachable your student feels. The lower the percentage the less willing they are to talk about anything.
- MAX PERCENTAGE YOU CAN GAIN FOR EACH IS 100%. If a student is above 80% for all four, it means they are at the OPTIMAL POINT for being weapons converted, though again, this has to be ICly figured out between Hunters, if they ever figure it out.
- Whenever a Hunter interacts with your student or your student sees an action going on, their GAUGE CAN CHANGE. Make sure to post in OOC quotes at the BOTTOM OF YOUR POST all % rates of your student's current emotion gauges every single rp post, just so Hunters know what is going on!

HUNTERS:

- You are given a clipboard with a piece of paper. On it says the only ground rules is to not tell them any information regarding the facility and who they are ("That would get you killed, man, killed and tortured") and to not get overly friendly with them ("That would be even worse than being killed, man"). The goal is to extract information from them so you can use these points against them in order to get of course, willing weapons candidates as well.
- At this point, the RP is divided to STUDENTS (contained within) and VISITING HUNTERS (any Hunters who want to talk/examine/ visit the students), making it more "orp" style
- VISITING HUNTERS can talk with the techs, they can speak through the microphone to the students. If you are addressing a student, make sure you QUOTE THEIR PLAYER. You can say whatever you want, the techs don't even care much they just spend most of the time playing tetris. If you want to ask questions to the techs, QUOTE ZOOBEY and then any questions/ comments/ reports
- When ENTERING THE LABS, please put at the TOP OF YOUR POST [ENTER ] and when LEAVING THE LABS post [ EXIT ] so students know who to address, so on so forth. Of course you can enter and exit as many times as you ICly seem fit
- Make sure when QUOTING A STUDENT that you post OOCly a small description of your Hunter so students know what your char looks like. Also remember that you are viewing students IN A ROOM, from the outside. Read the setting on page 1 to get further details on what it looks like.
- PLEASE ALSO VIEW THE STUDENT OOC section above, so you understand how GAUGES work.

Candace rolled her eyes. "I wasn't. I was busy." With, you know, getting a candidate of her own. She stood straight and stepped aside, gaze on the screen allowing her to see...a stupid as hell video. Seriously? She was pleased to hear 'any tools' were fair game. Good. She could go in with bribery and the like. Perfect. Though at the man's comment on her bag Candace blinked and just stared.

"...It's a dress. The hell do you think it is?" She shook her head. Men. But fine, she'd start with simply talking to her. Seeing the girl in the room almost broke her heart. All by her lonesome...too bad.

Pressing down the button as instructed, Candace leaned down enough for the microphone to catch her voice. "Mitsu? Are you awake?" Her voice was soft and gentle, not wanting to spook her anymore than she already had.

Though Candace had a feeling such a thing wasn't possible.

The last thing Mitsu remembered was fear. Heart wrenching fear as she turned from her impending capture to look at Shun. A hand reached out toward him seconds before the net engulfed her. Her mouth had opened but the only thing that came from it was a scream as the bolt of electricity raged through her. It was all it took to knock her out having nothing left to sustain her.

The trip to deus had been a blur, Mitsu had no idea what was going on. Perhaps it was all a bad dream? It wasn't like she hadn't had nightmares about Hunters before. It was possible her mind had just gotten away from her, building up this huge scenario like it was from a movie.

It was only the gentle voice that called out her name trying to coax her from her sleep that had Mitsu stirring. She groaned realizing she was in pain, weak and disoriented. Was she sick? As soon as she opened her eyes she certainly thought so, the light seeming way too bright making her close her eyes once again. "W..what..." Her head was throbbing, her body aching all over. Somehow she managed to lift an arm to shield her eyes from the light, opening them in a squint so that she could see. Somewhat.

"W...where...." As her eyes took in her bare surroundings her heart clenched. It had been no dream. The clean white walls, the large window that offered a view of nothing, and the single bed that held her and no one else. The next thing that came out of her mouth was a struggle to get out. Her voice small and frightened as she tried to push herself up. "S-Shun?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 12:35 am

Candace smiled. "Oh good! You're up. Hmm..but you're still all bloody." She pouted at that, tilting her head to one side. She doubted Mitsu would let her come near..but she couldn't just let her sit around covered in dried blood. That was terrible! She needed a bath and a good brushing. Mitsu needed a lot of things, really. Things Candace was more than willing to provide.

The girl called for Shun and Candace sighed quietly. "Shun isn't here, sweetheart."

Mitsu barely managed a sitting position on the bed, bracing herself with one hand while the other one shielded her eyes from the light. Why was this room so bright? The light was so unnatural to her eyes and painful. How had anyone thought this much light was a good idea? Didn't they know it was bad for their eyes?

The voice came through the speaker again and instantly Mitsu recognized it. The Hunter ghoul sounded so happy and cheerful...it made the lycan sick. But wait...."N...Not here?"

Mitsu thought she could see the vague shadowy image of a person beyond the window and started to stand but couldn't. Her legs gave out sending her right back to the bed with a soft thump. At least she landed back where she started, somewhere soft. "W...where is he? W-Where are the others?!"

She couldn't remember all she knew was that Shun had been hurt and netted, Mot had been badly injured and Hel....Hel had been the only one left standing to defend them. Had they brought them along as well? Had they taken Mot and Hel and were just keeping them somewhere else? What could she do? How could she help them from where she was? Her body was so weak she wasn't even certain she could shift without trouble.

"WHERE ARE THEY?!" She hadn't even waited for an answer before she screamed her question, panicked as she tried to force herself out of bed again barely managing to stand.

Annnnd there it was. Candace groaned unhappily and shook her head, waiting it out for the most part. Let her get it out, she did deserve one. As the girl got up and fell back Candace instinctively moved forward as if to catch her only to bump against the console. Right. Mitsu was in a cell.

As the girl screamed she winced and pressed the button again. "You don't need to scream, I can hear you just fine." Candace was being nice. Keeping her voice gentle and calm. It wouldn't do to rile Mitsu up now. "They're fine. I'm a woman of my word, you know. We left. We didn't touch them. Your friends aren't here, they're still back in Halloween...try not to stand too quickly you seem to have trouble with it."

Candace frowned, setting the bag down and picking up a nearby clipboard. What to say and what not to say, and what not to do. Okay. That was simple enough.

"I brought you some new clothes. Would you also like to get cleaned up? Your wounds seem okay but you've got dry blood all over you from when the roof fell on you..."

They...they weren't here? Could she believe her? She desperately wanted to despite how alone she felt. Mitsu just had to push back that yearning feeling to hold on to someone. She hated to be alone and unlike being alone at home she had no mini pets to help her cope. There was nothing here. Nothing but the voice on the other side of a window.

She landed back on her bed with a heavy thump and a groan. Normally she didn't feel this bad even when beaten badly in training and practice. Moving just felt like a task, her body sluggish and heavy. At least she seemed calm now or more like the shock was settling in.

"I...I don't feel right." It wasn't really an answer to Candace's question but Mitsu wasn't entirely thrilled about carrying a conversation with the ghoul. She was still just confused and weary, trying to make sense of what happened. She was alone but everyone else was safe. Maybe. She could deal with that couldn't she?

A hand came up to her head to touch the mask, the only part of her head that had been shielded from the falling ceiling. For a moment it looked like she was going to remove it but instead moved it to cover her face instead. The tribal-like mask seemed to fit snugly in place as Mitsu pulled her hand away, her expressions now hidden from view.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 1:24 pm

Don't feel right? Candace frowned. "Well...a roof fell on your head. I don't care who you are that's going to hurt. Then there was the net...do you feel ill?" She didn't know what to do if Mitsu felt ill. Hungry? She'd get her food. Lonely? She'd find her a minipet companion for an hour. Bored? Games or something. She'd do almost anything it took to get her to cooperate.

As the girl pulled her mask down Candace sat down in a chair, her arms folded on the edge of the console. "Would you like to see Meela?"

That was certainly true. A roof had fallen on her but still there was something about this place. Something almost draining. She wasn't sure if it was sickness or something else.

"M-Meela?" Mitsu ears perked for a moment, the only indication that Candace's words had got her attention before they drooped unwilling to stay up. So they did have Meela. If they had no one else they had her. How was she supposed to get the ghost dog home? She felt terrible that she had put her in this situation. Mitsu had practically handed her over.

"I want...to see her but....what is it that you want from me?" Her head lifted slightly to look at the window where she could see the vague shadow of a person.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 2:16 pm

Ah! That seemed to do it! Candace stood from her chair with a warm smile. "Yes, Meela. The ghost dog you gave Derykion. She's here in our labs. I can bring her here for a little while if you like. Minipets can only stay out for an hour at a time though." She'd have to make sure it really was okay. Didn't want to get in unnecessary trouble with the labs for breaking more protocol than she probably already had just with the methods of her capture. Candace would have loved to have taken Mitsu by completely different means. Willingly, quietly, things like that. But nooooo. She had to have protective friends.

Damnit.

"We'll get into that later. You've had a long day. What I want right now is for you to relax. Nothing and no one here will hurt you, and while I doubt you'll believe me I'm going to tell you anyway that you're safe here. Probably one of the safest places you could be, really." Candace shrugged. "If you're tired I'll let you sleep. If you're hungry I'll get you food. I'll see to it that you're well taken care of, Mitsu. I promise." She frowned then. "Will you at least give me that chance?"

The wolf mask rose and Mitsu stared through the glass where she saw movement, red eyes gleaming but it was hard to say with what. With her face mostly covered it was hard to tell her emotions aside from the movement of her ears.

Once again Mitsu rose though this time she seemed to be fueled by something as she staggered toward the window. She rested a hand against it as she tried to peer inside but couldn't really see any better from where she had been. "Why don't you come in here and let me show you what kind of a chance you'll have." She growled. Mitsu figured she was captured, she was already in enemy hands and injured. What did she have to lose? This Hunter wanted to tell her she was safe well apparently Mitsu was going to test that theory. If worse came to worse they would just kill her right? Then she would dissipate and....end up where? Mitsu wasn't certain but she hoped it wasn't here.

"And yes, I am sick. Sick of hearing your voice." She brought back her fist and pounded against the glass trying to summon any of the strength she had left. "Shun won't just leave me here!"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 6:31 pm

Candace actually gave a laugh when Mitsu threatened her, shaking her head and smiling. "Oh, darling. Do you really think it's a good idea to threaten the woman who's making sure you're treated like a proper princess while you're here? I could let any number of things be done to you, but I'm not going to." She tapped at the edge of the console a bit, humming thoughtfully. Okay, so this was going to take longer than she thought. Mitsu was justifiably uncooperative right now. It was to be expected. Everything had been easy up until this point..

She watched Mitsu snap at her and punch at the glass. Typical teenage anger, huh? "Oh, I don't doubt that. But if you're sick of hearing my voice...perhaps there are other voices you'd rather hear instead? Derykion, perhaps? I told you he existed..though I really should tell him if he's going to name his golem something he should name it something less stupid." There was a sigh as she picked up the dress back again. "I'm going to have this dress given to you. I'll go get Meela, and let you have some...visitors, too. Okay? I'll see about having some towels and water brought for you to clean up as well. Feel free to hate me, just at least listen to what I have to say when I come back."

Candace did as she said she would do. She'd requested the dress be given to Mitsu, though she didn't do it herself so as not to be attacked right from the get-go. She even had the towels and water sent for her to clean up her face and wounds. She would come back with Meela later, however.

Deryk wasn't really happy when he heard a ceiling had fallen on top of Mitsu. But when Candace let him know that she was here, he hesitantly went to see her. Why had a ceiling dropped on the girl? Wasn't she supposed to have come willingly?

He didn't ask the mist hunter this, but they were questions swirling in his mind as he made his way into the Lab.

Slowly, he moved up to the window to look at her. It was the wolf girl alright, and she looked pretty battered.

"Uh.. M.. Mitsu..?" he greeted a little carefully, not sure how he was feeling about this at the moment.
