I drew this and then another one and decided to do an elemental series. Because they are colorful and fun and I havent used real media in a thousand years and probably should. She started as a raccoon, and her name is Toxic

If I dont look to hard, it looks like a female yettie, which is cool... but then I realise that its a furry. Which is less cool.

Ohshit, how did I end up posting in here? I would not have subjected this to educated eyes. I meant to post this thread in the picture post forum. Uh...ignore it I guess. Or tear it apart. Constructively? If possible? "Ew furries" seems rather immature.

i think the anatomy is a little off. the face, breasts, and tail look too profile for me, and then the rest is supposed to be from the back. i think from the pose the shoulder would be down lower, to counterbalance the hips going up from the left, and that there would be more of a twist happening from the torso instead of just simply back angle to profile. there'd be more foreshortening going on, with more stuff happening on different planes rather than just the two. i mean, it looks readable now, but i think pushing those would take it even further.

-vivid
-eve (an example of counterbalance with the shoulders and hips)

it's a good start though. for some reason i really like the gesture you've given her.

Um um um. The right knee looks a bit off - like, the joint's too far down the limb, it should be higher than the other knee since that leg's raised forward somewhat. If that makes sense.

my issue is that her face does not look fuzzy/furryish. it looks like a regular person's face painted camo.

nice display of maturity there. and here i thought we art fags were all serious artists with the ability to critique instead of acting like the dim-wits over in picture post. might as well let anyone in if our standards is slacking, eh?

Being serious all of the time is way overrated.

If I were acting like the retards in picture post I would have said something nice about the picture even though I dislike furry art. You're just sore 'cause I dissed your disc.

hehehe, on the contrary it was meant not just primarily you, but as a whole. and i do agree that being serious can be overrated (kinda like how the other thread turned into a pseudo insult between two people because of different backgrounds). but i think it's also a bit tactless to air dirty laundry in someone else's thread, y'know? if you're a bit upset by the remix, then by all means let me know in my thread, instead of having to use it as a means to attack in some else's, alright?

but i think the display of being close minded is something that brings down the quality of this guild, y'know? i know that other gaians want to join this thread because of the supposed useful critiques from various artists from different backgrounds. furry, 3d, 2d, poetry, crafts, photography, anything that constitues as art...and that having a guild that's regarded highly as an artistic guild is something that i am proud of. and comments like 'this sucks' or 'ew, furries' kinda tarnishes what the guild is all about. you calling my mix trash was all kosher for me and my boyfriend, because you took the time to tell me why, and because of that it's something that i respect, even if you don't regard it as such.

as for my opinion, furry art isn't particularly my cup of tea either.
