Brigadier General Thomas Pryor
Pryor was down on one knee with his rifle ready to fire. Artyom had yelled out to the people. Pryor began using his eye to try and get a better look but when he tried to use the type of night vision it began to fade out an look like a TV when you unplugged everything and you just get static. Thomas heard Trident come over the radio, so he let of of his rifle so it could hang the the sling he kept attached to his chest, and then pulled out his extended knife, and waited as one of the creatures ran at them, it was fast and it was covered in blood, and was certainly not human. As it reached Pryor, it began trying to tear him apart, but as it swung its arm Pryor ducked under its arm and moved behind it planting his knife in two locations, once in the stomach and once in the heart, Pryor ending behind it, facing it, but it was still moving like that had just not happened. Pryor this time, in a trance like state that he was able to put himself in combat like this where he didn't question anything until the fight was over. Pryor this time did the same trick but on the other side, this time planting the knife in his back and then at the base of his skull, the figure now dropped to the ground.

And when he gets to Heaven,to Saint Peter he will tell...
Upon seeing that the two that had broken away were not friendly, Aingel made a logical conclusion that the rest of the crowd in the dark was the same. He pivoted the searchlight up suddenly, bathing the creatures in the white light, and spun up the twin fixed miniguns on the Venom's mounts. A loud ripping sound filled the air as the miniguns tore into the horde of creatures, shredding them apart as they turned to snarl at the light. Aingel began pivoting the Venom left and right, sweeping the crowd, decimating the horde's numbers a the few remaining escaped into the hulks of the buildings. Aingel checked his IR scope again as the miniguns spooled back down. Nothing was moving. "Scope's clear, for now. Move forward, I'll be right behind...." He trailed off as he noticed a white patch in the IR scope. Something out there was giving off heat. It was a few miles away, only visible from the altitude of the chopper. "Hold the phone...there's something out there....Turn on your flashlights and hold your position, ground team, I'll be right back..." Aingel moved the chopper forward, towards the white hot patch. As he got closer, though, it seemed to move away. He kept after it, though, intent on figuring out what it was. As he did, his radio contact with the ground team started to break up. "It's moving....incredibly fast speed....Seems to....matching the speed of the helicopter...as if it's trying....make sure I stay with it....bad feeling about this..." The thing finally stopped moving, coming to rest in a crater of some sort. Aingel shone the searchlight down on it, his eyes widening as he saw the object in the light. "Bloody buggerring he-" The signal cut off, and, to the ground team, as it did, so did the sound of the helicopter. No sounds of a crash, no explosion, simply there one minute, and gone the next. Not even an echo. Over the radio, there was no static, just dead air. For the first time since the beginning of the mission, all the ground team could hear was absolute, complete silence... [OK, boys and girls, time to see how well you fare...on your own...*evil laugh*]
"One more soldier reporting, sir. I've served my time in Hell."

Commander TridentMarine Commander "Call to God if I cross your path and my silhouette hangs in the Aftermath; hope is a moment now long past, the shadow of death is the one I cast"--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John watch down below as he watch the two tangos get taken out and be killed by his team. Faintly he could hear footsteps coming up behind him, he reacted instantly to the sound as the foot steps did not sound "normal", there was the sound of the feet shuffling and being dragged. He was the only one up here and he didn't want any more of those things coming up here. He holstered his pistol and grabbed one of his throwing knives from its sheath next to his pistol and threw the blade at the thing as it got up to the roof.
The blade spun as it cut through the air making a faint sound. The business end of the knife met its mark and lodged itself deep with in the creatures eye. It broke through the eye socket and into the brain killing it, silently, as it slumped to the floor. It was easy for him to get shots into an area like that, even if they were wearing a helmet.
"So apparently hitting them in their brain kills them."
Trident said in the mic, as he walked over to the creature and pulled the knife from its kill, some gibbets where left on the blade. He wiped the blade clean on what ever the creature was wearing and sheathed the blade back into its right spot.
"Stay safe everyone, We are going to make it out of here alive."
He said as he made sure the roof access was closed and made his way back to the ledge where he could see his team. At this time he could hear the radio from Aingel cut off and the sound of the chopper disappear. This mission wasn't going to be like the others.
"Aingel, Aingel... do you copy? Over? Do you copy?"
Trident kept trying to hail the chopper and its pilot. He was a good friend and he didn't want to see him die, or anyone else here.

Brigadier General Thomas Pryor
Pryor was standing over the creature he had just killed, slowly kneeling down to get a closer look at its mangled face and body. Pryor heard what Trident said about the brain, and he agreed with that silently. He wanted to examine the thing more closely but the Aingels transmission cut out. Pryor looked in the direction that Aingel was in and used his eye to zoom, at the same time using its version of night vision, but he couldn't see the Venom. "We need to move. We should go to Aingels last location, our members, let alone our leader, comes before the mission. Stay close together and if you even think you see anything say something, just don't waste time. Artyom take point." Thomas was taking control of the group on the ground, while Trident was off doing his own thing. Pryor wasn't worried over the Marine commander, he knew he could take care of himself. Pryor then used his eye and tried to scan for the Venom, but it wasn't showing in the HUD.
