 Oooh such a delightfully... wet day... Showers had been on and off for the majority of the day, and into the evening. They weren't terrible, but certainly inconvenient for most hunters on the prowl. Fur was dampened, as well as the ground, making traction difficult to find. But the droplets were slowly starting to pitter away, and those who had sought out shelter were slowly taking a peek to see if the coast was officially clear. Stepping out from underneath a very densely clad tree, thick with branches and leaves, Cahala peered up at the sky, a grin peeled along her face. Seems like the worst was over... and the sun was even out now!
The best way to dry off was good 'ol sunbathing. Walking for awhile, to get her joints moving, her muscular body shimmering with that shiny black coat, the lioness found herself a nice herd of large rocks. They were bigger than her! Perfect. Purring softly, she hopped up onto one, and stretched herself out on the boulder, rubbing her cheek against the firm surface, soaking up the suns rays on the other side. Tail curling and flicking slowly, golden eyes eased closed, relaxing entirely.

Rekhet did not mind the rain.
It was not something he was used to, so he had not learned to hate it. Where he as from, it rarely rained, and it had always seemed like a game or a surprise whenever the water did fall.
He liked it, really.
Having a similar idea, Rehket was laying atop one of the rocks, stretched out on his back and soaking up the sun through his belly. He hummed his contentment, though he was usually a quiet and thoughtful lion. Dutiful and maybe a bit on the shy side.
But he thought he was alone.

Having been starting to drift off, Cahala's relaxed demeanor was slightly deterred as a scent of another was picked up. Ears flipping up, her sensitive nose twitched slightly, and her golden eyes peeled open. Well... company was always nice~ Slowly, she eased onto her belly, and lazily looked around the rock formations, spying a male now joining her in the delightful activity of sunbathing. Curious, her grin curled further at the corners of her lips. With ease, she got onto her paws, and stretched out, before hopping off of her boulder to go check out the newcomer, calling out casually to him, "Hey there fella~ looks like you and I have the right idea after that rain~" she chuckled, hopping up onto a rock near him, kneading it lightly to test.

Rekhet watched her for a long moment, tense but not worried. He was aware that he was a strong, diligent lion, and could fight his way out of most trouble if he had to. He just did not like having to do it unless just that: he had to.
If he could avoid confrontation, he would do that instead. He nodded his head at her, offering her a small smile. Very small. He was capable of it, and was a generally nice lion, he was just a bit withdrawn when it came to meeting new people.
He'd have to open up a bit.
"Hello," he said stiffly, clearing his throat as he righted himself and sat up, trying to look a bit more dignified than he had been. He was not really embarrassed, he told himself at least.
"I... guess we did. It's nice to feel the sun after it rains and being cooped up in the shadows." Though he liked the shadows well enough, since he blended well.

She wasn't put off by his cautious demeanor, in fact it was completely appropriate~ The rouge lands weren't always full of kind creatures... it was best to be on ones toes when meeting a new individual.
But she maintained her calm composure, stretching out her hind legs, and rolling her shoulders, "Oh yes~ It feels so nice that it often makes me want to take a nap." she chuckled again, "Right on these nice smooth rocks, I think they'd make for a great place to do just that." she declared, finally settling onto her haunches, tail fluidly curving to wrap around her legs. "The shadows are much more fun in the night, I think. That's when they're in their prime~" she purred, "Now. Who might you be, hm? It's been awhile since I've been traveling this way and have seen a single soul!"

Rekhet imagined himself something of an explorer, but he was no such thing really. He was new to this whole idea of living on his own, supporting himself, and while he was good at it he was still not so great at interacting with others out here in the rogue lands.
He wanted to make friends and find a new home to live in, certainly, but he just wasn't -good- at it.
He had a lot to learn.
He tried to smile at her, but he looked timid despite his drawn and put together appearance. He might carry himself like a soldier, but he was young at heart and inexperienced with the world at large. It gave him a kind of naive innocence under his guarded and stiff look.
"My name's Rekhet," he offered, crouching down, "I don't live around here, I was passing through too, but the rocks and the sun called to me... so I had to come and warm up a bit." He looked sheepish, though he had to admit that what he said was still true. Nothing felt better than the sun on his belly after the rain.

The male had piqued Cahala's interest enough to make her stick around, and his lack of threatening demeanor was even better. Sure she wasn't going to let anyone push her around regardless, and he certainly had the build of a powerful individual, but his charming nature had her curious, and even enjoying such a interesting meet.
Slowly, she shifted into a laying position, letting the smooth, heated rock warm her tummy, eyes lidding halfway to show her pleasure on the matter. That felt nice~ Her tail flicked calmly behind her, a lax smile on her face as the other replied to her. Rekhet. She filed that name away for safe keeping. The way he reacted was just too darling, having her chuckling very softly under her breath, "A very acceptable reasoning, Rekhet. You seem like quite the smart male, if I do say so myself. Anyone who would pass up such a delightful opportunity like this?" she gave a shake of her head, "Surely they must be deranged." she gave him a winning smile.

Rekhet was meant to be a stern sort, but he had never picked it up as much as he wanted to. He had a soft side that was just too obvious, too soft. He was kind hearted, and though he could be loyal and dutiful he was still too awkward, he felt, to be any good to anyone.
Not that he had a home to worry about defending at the moment.
He watched her as she sunned herself, looking up at the sky and feeling a sun beam on his face and getting momentarily distracted by it as he breathed in a warm and sweetly scented breath. The grass they had walked on had tinted the air with its scent and it just added to the relaxing air of this little spot.
Her demeanor made him relax a bit more and he smiled.
"Insane, definitely. Especially with company like you here with them. Uhm. I mean. You're nice and have made this better. Er." He shook his head at himself and rolled onto his back.

It was rather nice venturing out from touring the firekin lands. Not that she didn't like them, but... having been a rogue all her life, she was used to traveling, and hardly staying in one place.
Her paws stretched, toes kneading the stone, claws scraping lightly in the gesture as a yawn snuck up on her too. The sun really did feel divine today. Her eyes even eased to small content slits, a calm smile on her lips, almost as though she could nap right then and there! it was nice to have pleasant company to enjoy such an opportunity with .So many rogues were loners, or feral... typically individuals she couldn't approach...
But this Rekhet's vibe was nice. Nice indeed~ Her round ears swiveled forward as he spoke, eyes opening a touch as his words were registered. Well how adorable~ the corners of her lips lifted to curl in approval, "I have to say that I find myself thinking the same for you, Rekhet~" she purred, "It's not often I find such laidback males such as yourself. It is quite refreshing~"

Rekhet smiled and looked a little surprised. He was not sure that he would call himself laid back, if only because he tried so hard to be dutiful and stalwart.
But since coming out to the rogue lands he was beginning to wonder if that was the right way to do things. He was not actually sure he had been better off trying to be a soldier of no man's land, and it was actually nice to open up to others like this.
He watched her and smiled, feeling very relaxed.
"I think it's the company that has me so laid back," he admitted, closing his eyes and letting the sun warm him up. He sighed, feeling like he was in heaven. "I think a nap is in order, don't you?" If she didn't mind the idea of napping with him, of course.

There were only the distant sounds of birds, and small game, along with bugs creaking and cricking that took up any sort of sound between the two lions asides from their own conversation. So soothing, so relaxing. Who could ask for anything better? After such long travels, and acquiring various tid bits of information about a pride... Cahala was indeed in need of such a day.
His words earned a gentle chuckle from the lioness, a light purr rumbling just after, "My, you are quite charming, aren't you?" she mused. And with his cordial offer, it was simply impossible to pass up! "I do think that would be quite divine." she replied smoothly, lowering her head to rest atop her paws, coat shining as the sun beat relentlessly onto the land, muscles twitching from time to time as they eased into a state of complete relaxation.

The dark, camo printed lion smiled softly and pondered her word for a bit. Was he charming? He didn't think he was being overly so, really, but then, he had never tried to be before so he wasn't too sure how it worked. It didn't seem like a bad thing, though, and he smiled as he decided that it was a nice compliment.
He shifted a bit closer to her and relaxed, closing his eyes and letting the sun warm him into a sleepy state.
It was far too easy to nap like this, and he was all too glad to do it. And he was glad to have made a friend for it, too.
