spaceMadam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, also known as Madam Malkin's Robes or simply Madam Malkin's, is a shop in North Side, Diagon Alley. Students get their Hogwarts school uniforms there, and wizards and witches can also purchase dress robes, travelling cloaks, and also, on very rare occasions, invisibility cloaks.
spaceThe shop is currently owned by one Fiona McKinney. She was taught from a young age how to sew by her mother, a seamstress. She is both a traditional seamstress and a fashion designer, selling much of her original work in her shop as one-of-a-kind items.

Fiona was in the back room of Madam Malkin's, doing a quick stitch repair on one of her own cloaks, waiting for customers. She wasn't quite sure how busy the store might be today; traditionally, the stop got busier as the new school year drew closer. But, she'd been closed for a while, so she wasn't so sure that the customers would noticed that the shop was reopened. Still, she was ready. She wasn't too happy about opening with no employees to help, but it couldn't be helped. The old owner had only ever had one employee at a time, which she couldn't understand, given how busy the shop always was. She'd decided to do things differently; she would be hiring two sales associates, two assistant tailors, and perhaps taking on an Apprentice.'Tha' is, if anyone bothers to apply. No' so sure about tha', though.''Still, she had her ears open, waiting to her the bells tinkle, announcing the entrance of a customer.
Drae Blackstone ~ ~ (No House)(11 years old)( Feeling Nervous.) ~ ~
walked in, his father's moneybag held tightly in one hand, jumping a bit as the bell tinkled. He looked around observantly: bolts of cloth waiting to be used, product examples, the fitting areas. He walked up to the counter area, waiting for the shop owner, if they were here. His father had gone for a drink with Mother, and had left him to start his shopping. He was both nervous and excited.

Fiona heard the tinkling of bells and smiled, standing from her seat and clapping her hands together.'A customer!.''She entered the main shop with a smile, approaching the young man who'd entered the store."Good day you ye, lad, and wha' ken I do fer ye today?"The boy was young; she'd say he was a first year, here for his school robes.
Drae smiled nervously at the woman with the vibrant red hair. He cleared his throat, looking for the individual things he might need, but then found with a burst of relief that everything he needed could be gotten in one purchase. "May I please have the Standard Hogwarts Uniform Set?" He dug in his Father's money bag self-consciously, Then he realized he'd been rude. "And good day to you too."
(The train goes tomorrow so I may have his fathe finish the purchase if it's too late.)

Fiona read the letter quietly in the back room, smiling, but sad. The letter marked the end of the busy season; and she hadn't even been busy! She'd meant to have the shop opened the last week of summer, but, as is often the case, the remodel had lasted a wee bit longer than expected. And, with Twilfit and Tatting's being the premiere shop nowadays, it was no surprised that the sign announcing Madam Malkin's reopening had gone largely unnoticed. It was a shame. She'd really been looking forward to reopening.'Hopefully business will pick up, despite the school year already being started.'A girl could dream. She put the 30 Galleons in the small vault under the table, locking it up. She'd take it to the bank later that evening.

Wearing Mood: Neutral Thoughts: Where's the shop keeper? With: Elsie and Morven Location: Madam Malkin's
Newlyn entered the shop with her sisters, and the bell tinkled melodically as they stepped inside. She looked around the interior. No sign of the shop keeper. "Hello?" she called.

Elsie jerked away from Newlyn and gazed at the colorful bolts of fabric in awe. "These are so wicked!" she exclaimed, feeling the different materials with her fingers. "Elsie, look but don't touch," Newlyn reprimanded her sternly. "Yeah, Elsie," Morven piped up with a smirk. Elsie gave her younger sister a reproachful look and put her hands behind her back, drinking in all the color with her eyes.

Morven continued to smirk at her older sister. Elsie rarely got in trouble, she was always sucking up, so it was hilarious to watch her get scolded. She herself was usually the one being admonished. She tapped her foot impatiently, hoping they didn't have to wait around forever.

Fiona looked up, her eyes wide when she heard the light tinkling of bells that announced the arrival of a customer. She put on a big smile and entered the main part of the store. The dress she was sewing fell from its levitated location onto the table as she swept her way to the three young girls who'd entered the store. She noted their approximate ages and smiled. It seemed that the eldest couldn't be more than 11, meaning she was likely a first year. Fiona clapped her hands together, offering them all a wide smile."How positively lovely! I take it ye're a Hogwarts student, aye? An' I donna recall seein' ye las' year, and ye're a young bit, so I'd say a firs' year as weel. Welcome tae Madame Malkins! I'm Fiona McKinney, the owner and seamstress. How ken I help ye today? I'd say ye're here fer yer school robes, aye?"Fiona couldn't help how overzealous she was. She was a bit on the tired side, and when she got tired, she got rather hyper. She was right in that sweet spot between sleepy and dead where she was the most excited and productive she ever was. It might be unhealthy, but she'd purposefully put herself here to work, because she was her most creative when in this state. A rather odd side effect was that she tended to talk too much and too fast, and her accent grew thicker. She could only hope the young girl could understand her.

Wearing Mood: Pleasant Thoughts: Ah, so she's Scottish! With: Fiona, Elsie, and Morven
Newlyn smiled warmly at the shopkeeper, understanding her accent perfectly, being part Scottish herself. "Yes, I'm here for my robes. I'd like to get the standard uniform set, please." she requested politely.

Elsie smiled up at the seamstress cheerily. "Your fabrics are so pretty," she complimented happily. She longed for the day when she too would be buying her school robes for the first time. Everything seemed so new and exciting.

Morven tried not to sigh. Fiona was nice enough, but she really wanted to go somewhere else. Plus it wasn't like Newlyn was buying anything fancy or pretty. She was just getting her uniform.

Fiona nodded, pulling her wand back out of the holster on her arm, and pointed to a small raised platform off the the side of the shop area."If ye could jes get up on there, I'll start yer measurements."At the comment of what appeared to be the middle girl, Fiona offered a warm smile."Thank'ee, dear. I do me best. Most e'erything ye see in the shop was made with me own hands an' wand."As she waited for the oldest girl to get in position for the measurements, she waved her wand, and two small pumpkin pincushions began floating in the air, along with an old fashioned measuring tape. She glanced over at the youngest girl, who she noted looked quite bored. She waved her wand again, and a small box floated out from behind the counter and sat itself down on the far edge of the platform. She nodded at the child."Dearie, if ye're wantin' tae pass the time while I work on yer sister's robes, ye can have a look in the box o'er there. There's colors and parchment, along with a few trinkets to play with. None of it's very new or fancy, but I hope it'll do. Ye're welcome tae it as well, dear,"Fiona said, addressing the last bit to the middle child. Fiona would quite like for the girls to do a few little scribbles on the paper, honestly, If they did anything pretty or interesting and happened to leave it behind, she had a board behind the counter to display such things. There were thus far only two drawings, a kitten done by a five year old and a scribbled mess that she had been informed was a butterfly by the toddler's mother. Fiona looked back at the eldest girl."If ye're keen tae ge' her out o' here afore she gets tae antsy, I ken take yer measurements an' owl ye the finished garments."Not that Fiona cared much if the child got a bit fussy, since there were just the three of them, but she knew that such things could be grating on an older sister's nerves, though she'd never had any siblings herself.
