Despite Danny's protests, Nuru eventually slunk back to the office; the only place he knew of to access the underground. She warned him not to go near. Zar wasn't anywhere that he could find all day so it was a last resort; but the best resort he could think of. He can save Zar - and the others too of course. He'd be a hero.
His tail thumped wildly as he carefully sat his bag of posters by the door and went in. Perhaps he was being too optimistic, but optimism is all he really had left at this point.

She knew that the office was deserted; Arel had been taken away, and the students had since left it, especially after the incident. However, since she did not have any other leads, Lizzy decided to head down to the office, bringing only her skelephone along - well, two of them, for her own purposes, just in case.
"Ah-" She paused at the door, realizing that there was someone else there, "Hello?"

Calder looked everywhere. He called others. He sent text after text. He called until the dial tone caused his worry to rise to the point his Eyephone shook in his hands too much to dial again. She wasn't at her room. He knocked politely, and when that didn't work, wound up pounding upon it and yelling. He checked any classes on the off chance she was fine and rushed to class and was thus unable to answer he phone. The undead lobbies had no sign of the patchwork. The cafeteria had no bright-eyed undead. Amrita was nowhere, and he went to the only place he last saw her.
Skidding to the front door of the office, Calder looked in to see two students and looking around, shot his wide eyes back to them. Lizzy he knew. The other he did not. Well, aside of from the boil who had told him to stop tormenting the foxfire hunter on his back just a short time ago. "Have you seen Amrita?!"

"Hi!," Nuru practically yipped at Lizzy before scurrying towards her to try and get at his bag to retrieve a poster for her when another person showed. Oooh, new people. Surely they both would be quite useful to his ardent quest.
"No, but...," He offered each of them a poster, "Have you seen mah Zah? He's missing, too..."

"No... Amrita's missing... Christof hadn't seen her either," The way she stressed the word 'missing' was hinting on the fact that Amrita had been taken; she knew that Calder had checked the Seeds forum recently... He should know what she was eluding to, and although she did not feel good about not knowing what to do right now, she still wanted to see if there were any hints around... Hints on how to get to the hunter's island, hints on how to get them home.
"Zah?" She echoed after the boil; he was a stranger. Someone she hadn't met. Someone she should be cautious around. Someone who might be a hunter in disguise. She can't afford to make the same mistake Mitsu did.
She stood beside Calder, almost protectively; they might not be close, but they did go through the horsemen trials together, and she knew that Amrita considered her a good friend... That was enough to make her want to keep him safe, so that when Amrita is home, Calder's here to greet her too. They'll make it happen... Somehow.
"Oh... Zar?" She looked at the poster, brow furrowing as she shook her head, "No... I'm afraid not..." She knew a Zar... But only from the Seeds forums, since he had signed up as a member. As far as she was concerned, this 'Zar' is a real student of the school, so him being reported missing is something to be worried about.
"I know it's a bad time for introductions, but I'm Lizzy," She gestured to herself, trying to offer him a smile, but finding it tough to do so, "We're looking for a friend of ours too... Amrita, an undead ghoul, and Amphi, a mermaid." She took out her eyephone, turning the screen towards the boil, showing him pictures of the ghouls, "If you don't mind me asking, when did Zar go missing?"

Calder's ears dropped and a heavy frown fell on his features. "I can't find her." He told Lizzy, griping his coat and bundling it up, looking around for her. "I looked everywhere. She wasn't in the Nurse's office when I woke up. No one has seen her." He bite his lip, looking at the picture of Zar.
He'd checked the Seeds forums. He just didn't want it to be true.
"Zar was in the office with us. Followed us to the secret room. Amrita was with me. I should have stayed by her side. She didn't show up with me. I was torturing a little foxfire hunter. I should have just stayed by her."
He looked back to Lizzy.
"I should have stayed by her." His voice cracked.

"Ahm Nuru," he offered his hand instead of a smile. As optimistic as he was trying to be, he still... wasn't... he gave a pained sigh.
"He's mah boilfriend, he's an incubus... uh. Hmm... Ahm not for sure... we had a fight at the prom and ah've not seen him--," he stared at Calder, "You saw him? He was there? Then that demon ghoul was righ'..."
He couldn't have possibly looked any sadder, "Looks like ah've got no choice. Ah gotta go back there."

"Aww, Calder..." Lizzy knew how he felt, because she felt terrible as well; the moment she realized that Amrita and Amphi were missing, she wondered if anything would have changed if she had been there for them, "It's not your fault, or anyone else's fault... Amrita is a strong ghoul who is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. I'm sure she's going strong right now..."
She had to believe that.
"Zar as well," She took Nuru's hand, giving him a firm handshake; it had been a while... Not everyone wants to shake a demon's hand, after all. Besides, it just wasn't her style; a handshake had always seemed too formal and stiff, in her opinion. Letting go of his hand, she patted him on his back, "We'll bring him home too... How much... Do you know about the hunters?" She kept her voice low, looking around to make sure that nobody was listening in.

"But she's part of my herd. I should have been there for her. What if she's waiting to be rescued." Calder looked at Lizzy with the reality that he knew what could happen. "I've been in the trance. I don't like this." It happened in the same place after all. Hunters showing up to take hunters from school.
"We...We should go to that place!" Calder turned, looking around for where that tunnel was. The thing is, he had followed Amrita in. "It was somewhere here."

"Not much...," he confessed pretty glumly, "All ah know foa sure is they are; and ah quote, 'Humans that attack us'. Et's the only thing annehone has told me that wasn't some hallucination-dream thing that didn't actualleh happen."
At least Nuru was incredibly honest.
Herd? He shifted his gaze to Calder thoughtfully, must be some sort of herding species then. This train of thought was derailed however as he reminded Nuru just why he had come, turning his gaze back to Lizzy, "Ah came long afta everehwan else. Ah dunno the way, eithah...," his voice trailing off into quiet hopelessness.

"Then we better not disappoint her," Lizzy replied, although her voice lacked the determination and confidence she was trying to show; being optimistic had its benefits... She wasn't going to get anything done if she were to mope, and she had done a lot of moping around in the past.
"Humans that attack us sums it up quite well, actually," She nodded, looking at Nuru with a slight frown, "Basically, they are humans who wield these glowing weapons, made from Fear creatures like you and me. They have a machine that is able to do that conversion... You lose all free will after that, since you'll pretty much be a sentient object without any way to freely move."
Pinching the bridge of her nose in mild frustration, she shook her head, "I got there by chance, so I don't know the way back either..."

In times like this, Calder was, as his dorm room designation had proven, a monster. He wasn't going to be delicate. He wasn't going to wait. He wasn't going to care if this was the school office. The place was a dump anyways.
What Calder did was sit and then kick out his hooves around the place where he knew the door was, and after some broken boards, he found the trap door.
"Found it!" He huffed, and reached over to yank the little door open. "I'm going in. We should hold hands because it's dark." He shot out his hand in a way that said 'You better grab this quick cause I'm leaving with or without you'.
Calder wasn't messing around.

THE RUINED OFFICEEven days later, the door to the office is still half-closed on its hinges, thick yellow tape plastered all over the entrance with signs clearly pointing to students that they should really, really not enter. The office itself is still a mess, the desk upturned, papers everywhere: there is no sign of the Shredder, the only form of once-animate life in the office. The secretary has not been seen since he, as the most common rumour circulated, was sent to jail by the Bogeymen for illegally trafficking copious amounts of Apple Cider.
However, some students knew better. They knew that in the office was somewhere else a hallway leading to a strange locker room. A locker room that could only be opened with a certain combination. A locker room that perhaps lead to somewhere else.
And like all things, there was of course, the greatest moral dilemma: was it really worth exploring? OOC - If you are a part of DEFENDERS or had A SPECIAL ROLE and have NOT picked up/ open your locker you will need to do so to continue onwards to part 2 if you would like to keep your "special" role, otherwise you can continue on with the story as per normal. If you have picked up the box, still read below okay. Geez. - If you were not a part of defenders part 1 that is fine, you don't need to pick up a box, but you CAN open one as long a you have OOC permission from a player that had a trance past character that you can have their locker box. That means that player is forfeiting their own character getting the box. - Either or, please follow the steps below. Make sure to post AT THE TOP OF THE POST where your student is. LOCATION: Exploring the office LOCATION: EXPLORING THE OFFICE:- If your student is exploring the office, they will need to avoid being seen by staff members! It seems the staff are extra wary after what happened to Arel. Roll a 6-sided dice. If you odd, you are CAUGHT by a staff member, who stares at you reprimand and need to leave the office now. If EVEN you can proceed. You need to do this for each character you would like to visit the hidden locker rooms. You can do this as many times as you like with no cooldown. - If your student does NOT know where the entrance is, they will need to icly follow another character who is entering at around the same time. LOCATION: The Hallway Inside LOCATION: THE HALLWAY INSIDE:- The hallway is still dark and requires navigation. Roll another 6-sided dice. If odd, you can't find the way! It is way too dark! You spend what seems like fruitless hours navigating until you finall give up. If even you find the path. You can do this as many times as you like with no cooldown. Location: The Locker Room LOCATION: THE LOCKER ROOM:- After that seems like a blind romp through the dark, you FINALLY make it into the Locker Room. A strange sight greets your eyes: ALL LOCKERS HAVE BEEN OPEN AND UPTURNED. That means each locker has been forcefully open. Some lockers are missing their contents entirely, entirely bland, heavy boxes strewn all over the floor. You notice something however: each box has a name written on it. It is nearly impossible to carry more than one box not to mention: is it really worth it considering you can't open it? gaia_crown [ All DEFENDERS PART 1: ] OOC: If you were part of DEFENDERS PART 1: Your character can rummage through the mess of boxes. They will also notice that some boxes have very familiar names in fact: they will probably pick up a box with the person they say in past Trance's name (OOC: it is up to you if you want your character to discover this box now or later). It is also very heavy, you cannot hold more than one at a time. After quite a bit of fiddling, your box shakes, jiggles, and then opens with a small click. This could be in your dorm room when it happens or even in the locker rooms, this is UP TO YOU depending on how many people you want to icly discover your trance past character's box contents. You CAN and it is ENCOURAGED that you do this in a solo/ PRP. Inside is whatever you would like: a journal perhaps belonging to the past character detailing what happened, photos, a small memento, anything you'd like related to your past character that is NOT AN ITEM OF POWER. Ie: you can't pass heirloom weapons or awesome artifacts okay, only small, powerless KEEPSAKES. - If you have ALREADY picked up your box then lucky you sad You can just explore around/ help others/ bring it around for some show and tell. - If you are uncertain if an item is okay in your box PLEASE PM ZOOBEY okay. gaia_crown [ All SPECIAL ROLES ]- OOC: If you were given a special role AND participated in Defenders Part 1 from beginning to end, your box shakes, jiggles, and then opens with a small click. Ie: you can't pass heirloom weapons or awesome art - However ALONG with that, you also see something else: If you were given the Artifact Holder role OR the SEEDS role: Inside, you also find a strange, glowing vial: Opening it reveals that it is simple water, or so it seems. However, the water not only glows, it seems oddly nostalgic, a strange memory... of a distant land perhaps. It seems valuable, maybe you should just hold onto it. - If you were given the Sympathizer role you open your box and see also something else: What is this? It seems valuable, and perhaps powerful. This could help you, perhaps. SPECIAL EFFECT: Holding onto the item makes you feel stronger, more confident, arrogant almost. Unlike Insanity, the voices that speak to you from the chalice are tangible and very direct. They want you to find more, and there is only one thing that they are looking for... - If you were given the RELATIVE role you open your box and see: A small key. It doesn't seem to go anywhere though....

Bashing boards did not go unnoticed.
"What are you doing?!" Shouted a rather irrate staff member, standing with her hands on her hips inside the door frame of the office. "This is closed off, and making a rukus!" She walked in, glaring past the rest of those before snatching Calder off the floor from where he had been trying to get to the door.
"Just because no one is here doesn't give you the right to go wrecking the place. Monsters should have manners." She huffed, clearly a demon now that Calder noticed, and frankly one that didn't seem to like how destructive monsters could be.
"Wait! I need to check something!"
"Yes. You need to check yourself into my office. Come on." And with that, Calder was taken.

LOCATION: EXPLORING THE OFFICE
Nuru reached and took Calder's hand and offered his other to Lizzy, "All of us, okeh?" He was smiling big, he was going to save his boilfriend. Save him and everyone.
As he was about to embark with Calder, the fuss he had made drew the ire of a staff member... in fact drew the attention of not just the one but another that defly filed into the room to grab Nuru but a floppy ear to which he yelped and buckled entirely. Sensitive ears meant there was just no struggling this time as he was dragged off, he shot Izzy the sorriest look ever and mouthed the words, "Ah'll be back," to her before disappearing into the hallway.
