Munashii

Munashii fleshing outness.

Backstory - Munashii was born in Omashu into a poor family. Her father was a non-bender who moved from a small Fire Nation town to the Earth-Kingdom city of Omashu. Her mother was an Earth-Bender. The two met at the market and the two had a child in the year 151 ASC. When Munashii was fifteen years old (166 ASC), she came across a starving and abandoned urban panther cub. She fed it some of her own food and ever since then the panther has been following her. She has taken to calling it Hummer. One year later after their meeting, her father was murdered by her own mother, who used her earth-bending to bury him alive. It is said that she was angry with him for apparently making their child (Munashii) evil and corrupted. We now know that her sanity had been slowly dwindling over the past few years. Her mother abandoned her and disappeared, never to be seen again. Munashii then grew a hatred of benders, including herself, and began to think that they were evil. She and her panther companion lived on the streets of Omashu until 168 ASC, when they began to hear rumors about the Equalist movement. Intrigued and fueled by hatred, they made the journey to Republic City to become a part of the movement.

Nationality - Most of her ancestors lived in the Fire Nation, while her biological mother was an Earthbender. [Earth Kingdom]

Personality - Cocky, decisive, unforgiving, hard-working, practical, reliable.

How Munashii would react if:

> Someone kidnapped Hummer.
Someone took him. Munashii fell to her hand and knees and let out an agonized cry in despair. He was gone! Her beloved panther, gone! Was he okay? What if they were hurting him? Anger bubbled within the pit of her stomach at the thought and she let out another shout in rage. "I swear I'll find you!" she screamed to the darkening sky before dropping her head. Sobs began to wrack her whole body and she ended up on the ground in a fetal position, clutching her knees to her chest and simply letting tears run down her muddy face. He was gone. Her one and only friend had disappeared.

> Bumps into someone at the market.
Munashii studied the myriad of fruits, picking one up and looking it over thoroughly. She glanced up at the merchant, who shot her a nervous smile. "How much?" she asked, hefting it with her hand before placing it in one of the pockets of her green cloak. While she did so, she slipped her hand into another pocket and pulled out a few silver pieces. She set it on the stand, "Will this do?" Eagerly the merchant nodded and swiped the money away. Munashii whirled to leave and suddenly crashed into the chest of a tall man. She looked up at him and gingerly stepped back. His face held an expression of anger as he glared down upon her. "Watch where you're going, pip squeak." growled the man before placing a meaty hand on her forehead and pushing her aside. Angrily, she stepped up and grabbed his wrist tightly. "Why don't you watch where YOU'RE going, bub? You're the one standing right on my damn heels!" she snapped. The man regarded her with a seething look, "You wanna go?" Munashii replied, "Gladly!" and promptly turned and fled. She would fight this behemoth another time.

Emotions - Prefers to hide her true emotions, rather than let it out. When she does vent, it is usually in the form of being more moody than usual or snapping at random people who happen to be near her. She lost both of her parents, so she hates to bring up that topic. If she speaks of them, it is usually very non-specific and she generally avoids the topic in general. Usually the mention of her parents brings her to tears. Bottling up her emotions usually caused her to be extremely irritable and affects her performance as a fighter and a thinker in an extremely negative way.

>Sad - Munashii is generally a sad person due to her rough childhood and history. She is often filled with grief over the death of her father and the disappearance and breakdown of her mother.
>Angry - She is often angry with her mother, who abandoned her at a young age without a word. She also tends to be angry with herself and blames herself for her mother's mental break down.
>Love - Once Munashii is attached to someone, she becomes very loving and would protect that person with everything she's got. She feels love for her few friends because she doesn't want them to ever know the feeling of being abandoned, like her mother had done to her. However, she often speaks few words to people she doesn't know, making it difficult for people to get to know her or become friends with her.

Psychological Traits? - Munashii is a closed person due to the fact that she tends to bottle up her emotions. She claims that she doesn't like to lay the burden of her own problems on other people, so she tends not to talk about her problems.

Habits - Biting her lip when in thought, saying sir/ma'am (brought up by her father), and cracking her knuckles.

Relationships -
>Father - She had an extremely close relationship with her father, who managed to spend time with her every day despite being a working man. He taught her the forms of firebending although he himself was not a firebender. Her father was a kind and loving man and always thought of her before he thought of himself.

>Mother - Was kind of iffy with her mother. Munashii's mother was stifling and let Munashii have little freedom. She described her mother as 'paranoid' sometimes. She never confided in her with any of her problems, if she had any, and tended to avoid her. Perhaps this is why her mother abandoned her and thought she was evil.

>Panther Companion, Hummer - A close friendship. The two rely on each other for more than survival. Hummer is fiercely loyal to Munashii and would gladly give his life to save hers.

>Tao - To Be Determined

Interactions - Munashii doesn't speak much to strangers, unless she needs something from them, they speak to her first, or they provoke/anger/irritate her. Once a person gets to know her and cracks down on the mental shell she's put up around her, she becomes very loving and affectionate. She never forgets a good friend and will protect them with everything she has, as mentioned above.

Appearance -

>Hair - Dark brown, long, thick, and straight/smooth. She often has it in a ponytail to keep most of it out of her eyes. However, she has a rough fringe so much of her hair is in her face anyways.

>Eyes - Yellow/Golden. Traditional Firebender eye-color.

>Body Structure - Tall. Often described as willowy. Her muscles are toned from long hours of practicing martial arts forms and sparring.

>Flaws? - Scar running down the right cheek, obtained when attacked by another urban panther. Another small nick/scar on the left side of her face, obtained from tripping while fleeing from an angry platypus bear during her journey to Republic City. She isn't extremely curvy.

>Clothes -

>>Everyday - Pale forest-green cloak with a hood. She wears a loose red and black martial arts top with the sleeves cut off at the shoulder. She also wears slightly baggy black pants that close around the ankle. Her shoes are actually black leather hiking boots.

>>Formal - Same attire without cloak. *Suggestions welcome

Mental Disorders - None.

Powers - Firebending. She was born with it. Although her biological father wasn't a bender himself, his side of the family came from the Fire Nation. She doesn't use her ability much because she views it as a curse. (Plus Amon would have her head if he found out. ;-; )

>Neutral - It can be good and it can be bad.

> Good - Offers warmth, light, totally bad a**.

> Bad - Will reveal her as a bender. She's not entirely good at bending. ...it burns.

Universe - The Avatar Universe o' course...

-Totally Skipping Sex life/turn ons, sorry fans!-

Preferences/Favorites -

Cat/Dog - Cat
Udon/Thin Noodles (Can't remember the name) - Thin Noodles
Chocolate/Vanilla - Vanilla
Beer/Wine - Beer
Coffee/Tea - Tea
Sitting/Standing - Standing
Sprinting/Jogging - Sprinting
Tall/Short - Tall
Dark/Light hair - Dark

Favorite Drink - Chai Tea
Favorite Type of Music - Anything with flutes. [Traditional Asian Style Music]

One extra misc. detail - Munashii does not go to Amon to intentionally take her bending away due to the fact that she fears his power.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 24, 2012 6:30 am

The Lieutenant

Back Story - Little is known about the Lieutenant's past, but at some point he joined the Equalist movement and became Amon's right-hand man. He has stated that he has dedicated his entire life to serving Amon.

Nationality/Descent - Nationality is unknown, but his blue blues eyes could indicate Water Tribe ancestry. His overall physical features are similar to that of Fire Nation peoples.

Personality - Fiercely loyal to his leader, NEVER gives up, believes wholeheartedly in the Revolution, and a bit sadistic The Lieutenant fights for what he believes in.

Aria

Character Application for my OC, Aria. I'll get the basics down for now, and I will edit it as needed. <3
Name: Aria
Age: 34
Background: Aria's mother is a waterbender from the Northern Water Tribe, named Tetrekua. Aria's father was a traveler from the Fire Nation, and a firebender named Kaizok. He went to the Northern Water Tribe to see if he could see the Spirit Oasis. Tetrekua was the current waterbender in charge of keeping the Spirit Oasis safe and clean, and Kaizok was directed to go see her about his request. As soon as their eyes met, they fell in love. Kaizok decided to stay in the Northern Water Tribe, and he made a betrothal necklace for Tetrekua, and they were soon wed. A year later, Tetrekua was pregnant. Close to her time to give birth, Tetrekua felt something wasn't right, and she could no longer feel the baby's kick. Tetrekua, being a talented healer, tried to heal the baby from the inside, but she didn't feel it work. Tetrekua and Kaizok were devastated over the real possibility that their child is already dead. As a last attempt to heal the unborn baby, Tetrekua was allowed to give birth at the Spirit Oasis, in hopes that the Moon Spirit Yue will look upon them with good grace and breathe life into their baby. Tetrekua gave birth to a daughter with closed eyes, jet black hair, fair skin, and not breathing. Kaizok took the baby and laid her gently in the Spirit Oasis water as he cried upon her little body. Her hair turned as white as snow, she opened her sapphire blue eyes, and began to cry. Tetrekua and Kaizok named her Aria. But her parents weren't the first thing Aria saw.
Since Tetrekua was heavily connected to the Spirit Oasis, Aria has a natural connection to the Spirit World - a much less natural connection than the avatar, but far greater than most people. She was in the Spirit World first, before the physical world. She was scooped up by Yue, who kissed her directly in the forehead, giving her life, and her personal blessing.
As Aria grew up, she found out she was a talented waterbender, and being 3 and 6 years younger
than Tarrlok and Noatak (respectively), she would secretly watch their waterbending practice (NOT the bloodbending training). She would practice her waterbending herself, by doing the moves Tarrlok and Noatak were doing. Aria was a perfectionist, and she would spend hours to perfectly get one wrist movement down. During the blizzard (that Noatak disappeared in), Aria's parents weren't in the village (they were off getting supplies), and she was all alone in her hut. Her fire was growing dim, and she didn't know how to make it grow, and she was afraid to leave her hut. She placed both hands by the fire to keep them warm, and she was praying the fire would grow bigger. She felt a burst of energy from her hands, and saw that she was creating a fire. This didn't make any sense to her, as she was already a waterbender, and Aang was alive when she was born. Scared and confused, young Aria huddled herself in a corner and began to cry.
Yue appeared and sat next to Aria, trying comfort her. Aria asked Yue if she knew what was happening to her, and Yue explained, "You are very special Aria. You're the first child to have been kissed from the Moon Spirit BEFORE birth. The first world you were in, was the Spirit World. My kiss on your forehead must have opened up a bond to another element you are naturally close to - fire. This seems to be the beginning of an evolution in benders - those who have an unnaturally large connection to the spirit world, may develop a bond with another element under extreme conditions. My dear Aria, I will always look out for you. I gave you life. It was my gift to you, I know you won't waste it." Yue then kissed Aria's forehead once more, and vanished. From that day, Aria decided to keep her fire wielding to herself, and only practice it when she is completely alone.
When the blizzard was over, her parents came back, and told her that Noatak did not return with Tarrlok and their father. Aria rushed over to meet Tarrlok and asked him if it was true. When Tarrlok confirmed it, Aria did all she could to comfort him. As the years went by, Aria and Tarrlok grew close - close enough for Tarrlok to tell Aria the truth about his father and bloodbending, and close enough for Aria to tell Tarrlok about her dual-wielding elements. Aria soon convinced Tarrlok to show her the bloodbending technique, and although he only showed her twice, it was all she needed to practice on her own.
When Aria hit the age of 18, after mastering waterbending, she decided to leave the Northern Water Tribe and go travel the world, like her father Kaizok. She told Tarrlok all the places she wanted to see, and promised him she'd keep in contact. Aria traveled all over the Earth Kingdom, and found herself at Ty Lee's doorstep, where she learned, and mastered, Ty Lee's style of chi-blocking and movements by the age of 22. She learned how to incorporate a bit of her waterbending in Ty Lee's style, to make it her own. From there, she traveled to the Fire Nation, posing as a firebender wanting to master the art. She assumed a temporary new identity, wearing a black wig. She soon mastered firebending and merged it with her chi-blocking style by age 28. She then traveled to low-populated towns until she was 34. At that point, she got word that Tarrlok was an important councilman in Republic City, and she made her way there. The first thing she did, was break into Tarrlok's office, and surprised him. He was happy to see her. After she learned about the Equalists and what they're trying to accomplish, Aria couldn't help but understand where they were coming from - for she saw the aweful things bending gangs did to regular people who just want to make a living. She decided she's going to attend an Equalist rally, and see if she can help teach them chi-blocking.
Appearance: User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Aria is, tall, thin, busty, sapphire blue eyes, snow white hair, fair skin, typically in heels.
Personality: Aria is a perfectionist, smart, daring, confident, slightly conceded, does what she has to to get what she wants, uses her body to her advantage (such as distracting someone, or trying to get them to give in to her demands), will do what she has to to stay alive, does not care for the safety of others, other than herself and close friends - such as Tarrlok, will take what she wants and does not show remorse for her actions.
Powers: As stated above, a waterbender/bloodbender, firebender/lighting bender, chi-blocker, however, she rarely uses her bending (and pretty much never her fire powers), and tries to avoid fights in the first place by talking or distracting the opponent.

God that took so ******** long. So. If there are any issues with this character application, please PM IT TO ME rather than typing it in here, so I can fix it. <3
If someone is planning to RP as Tarrlok, and you don't like the idea of my character knowing Tarrlok as a child, just PM me and we'll work it out. <3

Amon

Name: Noatak/Amon

Age: 40 (... Maybe a bit younger in the AU RP since it takes place before the events in Korra...)

Profession: Leader of the Equalists

Appereance:
User Image

Backstory:
Amon was born into the Northern Watertribe under the name of Noatak. He was the son of ex-criminal Yakone and the brother of Tarrlok. Like his father -- before Aang took his bending away -- he was a powerful waterbender who possessed the unique ability to bloodbend without the need of a fullmoon. His early childhood was a pretty good one and he was a good-natured child who'd always look out for his brother. However this changed when their father learned about their bending abilities. Once he knew, he'd force them to train their waterbending to their limits and later would make them train their bloodbending even forcing them to bloodbend each other. Even though Noatak always lived up to his father's expectations, he eventually got fed up with being used as tool for revenge. The day he had to bloodbend Tarrlok, he ran away from home, asking Tarrlok to come with him, who refused though.

He is now wearing the Name of Amon, hiding his true identity as bender. He has moved to Republic City, where he has become the leader of an extremist group of None-benders: the Equalists.

Characteristics: Amon is a very good orator and knows how to manipulate people simply by using the right words and gestures. He is also extremely charismatic and intemidating. He is very collected and always thinks ahead.

Fighting: Amon is a very agile hand-to-hand fighter and also knows the art of chii blocking. He also uses his bloodbending during fights to make his opponent's attacks miss, however he only uses it secretly, so he won't get exposed as a bender.

Special: By using a special bloodbending technick (how exactly is unknown...), he can take someone's bending away for good. It can only be restored by the Avatar's energy bending.

【.Background Information.】

Vincent grew up in a moving circus. He doesn't have any memories of his parents. He was told that they didn't want him. That they left him at the circus when he was very young. No matter, he loved his life in the circus. Everyone there was one large, odd family. He was able to see and preform in many places in his traveling. The person he saw as his father was the circus magician called Andromalius, his real name was Castor Faust. Vincent soon adopted his last name and calling himself Vang claiming it was his new stage name. He became good friends with a boy a year older than he was named Ivan. Ivan was a clown. He was really good at juggling and balancing at the same time. Vang enjoyed preforming with both his father, Castor, and Ivan. He was able to learn from the both of them. One day, the knife thrower, Remus, approached him urging him to try his hand at throwing knives. Vang agreed without hesitation. After Remus demonstrated a couple times, Vang grabbed a knife, looked at the target, let out a deep breath, then threw it. It hit dead center. They were both stunned silent. To make sure it wasn't beginner's luck, he threw a couple more and they all hit the target. He looked up at Remus dumbstruck and he returned the look mutually. Then Remus had Vang demonstrate to the Ringmaster. He was impressed as told Vang to continue training with Remus. When he told Castor, he said he was proud of his but to still preform with him as his assistant. Vang agreed. A few months later, Castor had a serious talk with him. He told Vang that since he didn't know who his real parents were, that it was still possible that he could be a bender and since he wasn't a bender himself, he didn't know how to figure out if he was. Vang disagreed saying that if he was, he'd would have bent something by now. Castor just shrugged and said he was still young and he might actually be a bender. Vang just shook his head and left.
Years went by and Vang continued doing a variety of acts. He not once was he able to bend anything. Tragedy struck on his eleventh birthday. In the middle of the night, there was an attack on the circus. Vang didn't know why or what was happening. He was shook awake by his father. He could hear the sound of yelling outside their tent clearly. They ran outside to see the attackers were a large group of a variety of benders. Castor said they were bandits. They both began fighting them off they best they could. Vang used his throwing knives to hit them in the arms and legs never missing. Castor ran out of sight. Vang was holding up pretty well until an earthbender fastened his feet to the ground then someone knocked him over from behind. As soon as his hands hit the ground, the earthbender fastened his hands too. He squirmed desperately trying to break free but he knew his efforts were in vain. He looked around to see his circus fantasy falling all around him. His arms and legs were bound and he was dragged as a captive through the aftermath. He was dropped in front of the Ringmaster. He could see Castor on his knees behind him. Vang shouted for his father then was immediately struck in the back of his head by the man holding him. Then the bandit leader appeared and said they would be taking Vang as a prize along with other children and women. The Ringmaster remained silent. However, Castor shouted in protest saying they could take whatever they wanted but not Vang and the others. The bandit leader just smirked and ignored his offer. Then a man proceeded to beat Castor. Vang watched in horror as his father was being beat senseless. He couldn't take it anymore. He screamed at the top of his lungs then flames came from his fists. This suprised him but he didn't give himself time to process what this meant. He burned through his rope bindings and jumped onto the man catching his shirt on fire then started hitting the man in the head. It wasn't long until he was pulled off. He struggled violently reaching out for his father. Then he was hit in the back of the neck and blacked out.
He woke up dazed and lying on the floor. He looked around and saw a young man. He tried to get up and attack him but found that his arms and legs were bound with stone. He shouted and cursed at the man yelling at him for destroying his home and hurting his family. He yelled at him for taking him away instead of leaving him there to morn with them. The man finally said he was a captive too from another raid. Vang quickly apologized the laid in silence. The young man said he was sixteen, a waterbender, and his name was Kotu. Kotu didn't want to talk about what happened to him so Vang didn't ask. They didn't say much to eachother. Then they were taken from then room they were locked in. They were brought before the bandit leader. On sight, Vang glowered. The leader said that they would be working for him now. Vang immediately spat at him. The Leader paid no regard then went on to say that they would be fighting for him. Vang protested but was ignored. Their harsh training began.
The leader favored Vang. He was thirteen now and always followed his orders to the letter. He was trained for descrete combat. Vang adopted an emotionless exterior on his missions and in the leader's presence. His ability to bend was poor. He was able to make fire and eventually lightning, but had no skill when it came to attacking with it. It didn't matter though because bending was too flashy for what he did. He became good friends with Kotu who would be his partner in these missions. At age fourteen, Vang began his training as an assassin. He did fairly well at this. He successfully created a variety a poisons that he made sure to build up an immunity to. Then he did it. On the eve of his fifteen birthday and anniversary of his home's destruction, he assassinated his leader in his sleep. When he was done he had placed a cake in the room and lit a candle. Once the clock said it was his birthday, he smiled, blew out the candle, ate a small slice of cake, then left. He never wanted to see that place again.
He is now a wandering street performer and he is happier than he had ever been after the loss of his paradise. He still trains and practices his skills for combat as a hobby. He still wishes to see his family again.

Fang Hu

Backstory - Fang Hu was born and has lived in Republic City for all of her life. She was born to a middle-class family and while growing up she was always fascinated with pro-bending. While her father, a Waterbender, approves of this, her mother, a non-bender, does not. Although it is unknown to Fang Hu, her parents are at odds with each other and are on the verge of splitting. Her mother sides with the Equalists while her father is totally against it. Meanwhile, Fang Hu, oblivious to it all, manages to join a pro-bending team; the Sky Bisons. Although she was considered a rookie, her skill with Waterbending has managed to astonish all those who watch pro-bending, including her father.

Now, at age seventeen, she plays for a different team - the Pygmy Pumas. Her father still supports and cheers her on although her mother is still unhappy about her daughter's place in life. Fang Hu is now one of the best pro-benders known to the arena and is loved by the fans. Perhaps she would make an excellent target for the Equalists, during one of those pro-bending matches...

Nationality/Descent - Both of her parents are from the Northern Water Tribe, giving her the darker skin and pale blue eyes. However, her mother is a non-bender and her father is a Waterbender.

Personality - Quiet, conservative, and often avoids fights but loves philosophical debates. But when she goes into the pro-bending arena, she becomes a completely different person - aggressive and fearless, even ambitious. She hates the prospect of losing a pro-bending game and often spend her time training in the gym or hanging around Narook's Seaweed Noodlery.

Emotions -

Calm - Fang Hu is a very calm person outwardly and always has been. She has seen what can happen when someone does not remain calm during a bad situation and has learned from the consequences.

Relaxed - Naturally, she is very difficult to provoke unless she is in the pro-bending arena. However, when she has been provoked, her anger is not something to mess with.

[Pro-Bending] Eager - She is always eager to begin a bending match and is always anticipating the sweet taste of victory.

[Pro-Bending] Excited - Again, she is always excited and quick to move when placed in the pro-bending arena.

Habits/Ticks - Twirling her braid or hair around her finger.

Relationships -

With her father - She has a close relationship with her father since he supports her and watches all of her bending matches. He even taught her most of what she knows about waterbending.

With her mother - She has a love-hate relationship with her own mother. Fang Hu often gets into arguments or long-winded fights with her and will leave home for days at a time to cool off.

Appearance - Fang Hu is extremely slim and moves gracefully, like water itself. She has the darker skin of the Water Tribe people and long dark-brown hair which is usually tied in a braid. Fang Hu's hair, when let loose, is thick and slightly curly. She has pale blue eyes that seem to be constantly searching someone, almost as if she could stare into their soul! [Might draw one up later.]

Clothing - Fang Hu wears traditional Water Tribe clothing although she was born in the City. She loves her culture and strives to preserve it and teach others about it, her clothing being one method of doing so.

Powers - Waterbending. She often carried around two seal skins filled with water when she isn't in the arena.

Flaws? - Fang Hu has no physical flaws, but she often lets her aggressive fighting style get the better of her during matches in the arena. She also tends to let her anger fly when finally provoked. Trust me, her wrath is not something you want to be dealing with!

Niu

Niu
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Age - 21

Gender - Female

Nationality - From the outskirts of the Earth Kingdom.

Appearance - Extremely long black hair, down to her waist, usually done up Geisha style. Eyes are brown. She is short, thin, and her skin is pale.

Clothing - She is a blend between Geisha and Flapper styles. Her hair, done up Geisha style, is adorned with hair ornaments and flowers. She usually wears traditional Geisha makeup. Her dress is shiny, sleeveless, knee length, and tied at the waist by a traditional Obi. She wears the usual Flapper beads- black, and extra long. She wears black arm length gloves to hide the scars on her hands.

Powers - A Non-Bender, and aspiring Chi Blocker, but she has found difficulty finding a teacher and the time to learn.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Personality - Easily puts up a front at work of being bubbly, feminine, and playful, but underneath is hotheaded and adamant, especially when it comes to her hatred of Benders. Even further beneath that, when pushed, she can be extremely paranoid and fearful, especially of Firebenders.

Habits/Ticks - Obsessively fiddles her hands, gloves, and beads.

Backstory - Niu was born to a large, Non-Bending rural family on the outskirts of the Earth kingdom. Rooted in old tradition, her family was as harsh as the rocky soil of their land. From a young age, Niu was fascinated by tales of Republic City- the land of innovation and freedom. It was because of this that on the eve of her 16th birthday, when she was to be married off to someone for her family's gain, she ran away to find Republic City. Along the way, she gathered knowledge that had been denied to her by her family, such as reading, writing, music, and dance. She worked at several restaurants during her journey, and saved up money to get a good start in the city.

At 18, she reached the city at last. However, on her first night in the city, she was viciously assaulted by a firebender of the Triple Triad. Her hands were horrifically burned as she attempted to fend him off, and she was beaten severely. The Triad member stole all of her money and belongings, leaving her to die, broken in the streets. A local, Non-Bender hobo dragged her out of the open, and helped nurse her back to health. Her hands, however, would never heal. The hobo fed her stories of the Triad, and their persecution of Non-Benders. He also told her of the Equalists, and their goals. As soon as she was healthy enough, she began to work at various restaurants and bars in the city. She adopted the Geisha style of dress- the extravagant makeup, hairstyle, and dress becoming deeply imbedded in her routine. She tended to keep herself busy, to avoid thinking. She grew into a two sided personality- a cheery demeanor for work, and a harsh, hate-filled rage beneath towards Benders for their oppression of Non-Benders, and for her own assault. She longs to join the Equalists, but has trouble finding time and places to meet with them. For now, she is an observer and silent supporter.

Birth place: Fire Nation

Biography: Kelly was born in the Fire Nation, the second child of Iwao and Amari. She also had an older brother named Ichirou. As a child she was a little bit of a loner, often seen in the house with her nose in a book, or drawing. As she grew up her stage of being a loner and being shy grew out, but was still there. Eventually she made friend with a bender named Morgan, who had moved from wherever he last lived and now lived in the Fire Nation has a Earth bender.

Usually she had seen her parents praising her older brother more than her, which had caused her to get jealous as she began hating her brother. Elders usually said that it was sibling rivalry and just a stage, but she had never grown out of it, she had a deep hatred for him being the best and also the favorite child. Slowly she began to train in using martial arts, since her family were not benders, and she wasn't one as well.

At the age of fifteen while she was hanging out with her brother she decided to do the worst thing possible, she had murdered him, dumping his body in the ocean, hoping it was never to be found. A few weeks passed by for a search and police eventually found the body and Kelly was put in juvi for a month at least. That's when everything began happening, she had turned cold from the happy child she was, and despised her dead brother, and even her parents. Without hesitation she left without saying goodbye and went to Republic City.

Once there she had to do her best to be kind to people that sold food and such because they most likely wouldn't give it to her if she was rude. And other times while they were not at their cart for a moment she stole food. Eventually she was able to start working part time and made enough money for herself, and with the help of her parents she got a home for herself.

Once hearing of the Equalists she had decided to join them, wanting to help equalize Republic City from the benders who either used their bending for bad and good. Over the first days of joining she was quiet and not so much shy, she was afraid to speak to anyone about her troubled past.

Birth place: A small town north of Republic City

Biography: There was once a happy little girl who was born to a water bending father and an earth bending mother. She had one older brother who was a skilled earth bender while the girl inherited her father's natural talent in water bending. The family wasn't wealthy or successful but they were happy. And when her family was happy, the little girl was happy.

As the years went by, the little girl grew older, into a teen. As time passed it became obvious that her mother and father were growing apart. It was soon decided that the father would move back to the northern water tribe while her mother and older brother would move to Republic City. The not so little girl begged her father to take her with him but in nearly broke her heart when he refused saying she would be better with her mother. So the teen begrudgingly moved to the big city with her mother and brother.

It didn't take long for the young teen to adjust to city life, excelling in her classes and becoming quite the talented healer, another trait she inherited from her father. Not wanting to rely entirely on her bending however the smart young girl learned other forms of medicine and healing the 'non-bender' way. She dreamed of becoming a great doctor able to help the people of Republic City with whatever ailed them. Ah it was nice to dream.

More time passed and the little girl was now almost done with school. Her and her brother had taken a habit of listening to the radio together, having their own social commentary with the news that played over the waves. There was this one movement that was rising up called the equalists. A movement that wanted to completely abolish bending. Claiming benders were tyrannical and abused their powers. While initially hearing something like that gave the two bending siblings the chills they soon shook it off. Yes there were violent benders out there but for the most part they were peaceful easygoing normal people like them. The girl smiled as she confidently said, "I'm sure this Amon guy will change his mind once he sees how relaxed we benders really are."

Oh how it was nice to dream...

A cold winter brought an ominous chill through the modest apartment the family shared. To cold for pride, the small family of peaceful benders huddled together under the furs and used shared body heat to keep each other warm while they slept. But the sudden sound of glass breaking jarred the family from their slumber. Before any of them could fully register it they were rushed by two angry men demanding that they give them all their money and valuables. The mother, fearful for the safety of her children, bent the earth underneath the intruders attempting to knock them backwards. They easily sidestepped the trap and the tan man formed an icicle from the snow blowing in from the broken window, sending it through the mothers chest causing the woman to fall to the ground almost instantly bleeding out. The girl rushed to her mothers side frantically trying to heal her but to know avail, all the while her brother taking up their mother's place trying to protect his little sister. A futile attempt it seemed, as the other man engulfed the brother in flames. His screams of pain and anguish rang in the girl's ears until they eventually died away.

The girl begged and pleaded for her life, promising not to go to the police, to cooperate. They were willing to grant this request but at a price. They had chained the poor girl to a chair and tortured her for hours, burning across her lips and cheeks, engulfing her hands and arms with fire, and topping it all off with gauging out her left eye with the same sharp icicle that killed her mother. It was soon after this the girl went into shock from blood loss.

When she awoke the girl was in the hospital, her entire face arms and hands wrapped in gauze and other bandages. Thankfully one of the neighbors had informed the police and she was saved from the same fate as her family. However it would be a painful road to recovery. Though through the infections from the burns and the nights of lying awake half from agonizing pain half from night terrors from the horrible night, the radio had kept her company. And as the equalist movement grew stronger this Amon guy started to make more and more sense. There were nights where his passionate speeches had moved the girl to tears in her hospital bed and as her body finally started to work with her again the girl made a firm decision.

It was obvious that bending was the problem. Had those men not been benders, just regular thieves with regular weapons, her family would have been able to defend themselves. But bending had corrupted them, made them into monsters no one could defend themselves against. And according to other accounts from the survivor group she was recommended, the bending tyranny was a much bigger problem than her and her brother originally thought it was. It was at that survivor group she picked up the equalist pamphlet and read through the literature with her one eye left.

When she finally had the strength to go back to her apartment, still disheveled from that horrid night, she grabbed only essential clothing, her two nurse uniforms, and her father's ring before throwing every other possession in the bathtub. She lit a candle and tossed it in setting fire to her old life. Her life as a bender.

She went down to Yue bay and prayed to the moon spirit one last time as she dyed one of her nurse uniforms black in the cool clean waters of the river connecting to the bay, taking care to bend the water around her arms to keep her still sensitive burns from getting wet. This would be the last bending she would ever do.

Soon as the uniform was dyed she put it on along with a black surgical mask over her scarred mouth and cheeks, a black patch over her missing eye, and long soft satin black gloves over her burnt arms. The final piece was to put her father's ring within her medical pouch. She would find a better suited home for it soon but for now, this would do. The girl, no, the young woman stood as straight as she could and began walking. As she walked to the equalists recruitment office, each step leaving a piece of her old identity behind, she began to acclimate to her new self. Her better self.

Naida. The equalist non-bender.

Theme song: Sorrow -- Flyleaf

Sorrow last through this night
I'll take this piece of you and hope for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole
As you flew right through me
