Surrounding Forest

[Apathetic Writer]

This is a forest that surrounds the Hirase Family Manor, the only solid path through this forest is connected to the front gates of the manor. People have been known to go into the forest to train, however this forest is highly inhabited with Hollows, strangely they don't usually go near the manor despite the high concentration of Spiritual Pressure unless they are outside the walls of the Manor.

〖After taking off from the medical bay, he did a none stop run, running past the gates of the Seireitei, just pushing through as he ran all the way back to his home.. Or at least, around his home.. He ran into the forest, tears actually running from his eyes as he ran before he ran up to a tree and suddenly slammed his fist into it, a series of sickening cracks echoing as multiple bones in his fist cracked as he cried out in pain. "Why does it have to be me?! What did I do wrong?!" He shouted as he slammed the same fist into the tree, cracking them even more.. Now completely breaking multiple bones in his hand as he closed his eyes tightly, hissing in pain as he found himself stumbling back, staring towards the tree, only seeing the bark barely damaged.. But stained with blood from the punch busting open the skin on his knuckles as he shook his head, suddenly swinging his other fist against the tree as another series of sickening cracks echoed, along with a bit of a louder crack. "Haven't I been through enough?! I'm already a failure at everything else!" He shouted as he started to repeatedly slam his fist against the tree, each time his fist cracking.. While more tears flowed from his eyes, tears of rage, sorrow, and sear pain.. Despite this he just continued at it, slowly staining the bark of the tree with blood. "Now I have this ******** curse! This ********.. THING inside of me!" He shouted before he swung his fist again, then suddenly his eyes widen as his slit pupils became thinner, while black strains started to leech into his scelera, turning it pitch black as a hiss suddenly echoed from his lips, his fist cracking as he tightened it, despite the broken bones inside it as he suddenly slammed it against the tree, where several cracks echoed as the tree suddenly blew apart, sending chunks of wood and park to scatter through the air as the upper part of the tree suddenly flew along the air, falling into another tree as more cracks echoed, the sudden weight being added causing too much strain on the trunk as it suddenly started to pull up, it literally being up rooted as it started to fall over.. There, Kata's body froze in place, the eye patch was literally moving, throbbing as if it was alive.. The eye behind it was going insane, and then a dense blue and black reishi actually started to flow from his body as steam, where he suddenly let out a cry like a Hollow, no.. It was more like a roar, when suddenly several other roars echoed through the forest as if Hollows were responding to him, when suddenly the sound of more trees being ripped apart echoed as beast seemed to flock towards the source of power.. The source of immense Reishi before their bodies froze in place, the mist like reishi washing over them as several of them started crying out in agony, as if the mist was like thousands of needles stabbing into their skin repeatedly, when parts of their body suddenly started to fade away, crumbling away into dust.. Kata's reishi was so much, it was literally killing them.. But Kata wouldn't even let them get off that easily, suddenly he vanished.. Moving at extremely high speeds as he suddenly slammed his knee into one of their skulls, completely shattering their mask and causing their head to explode in a bloody mess, shards of the skull, mask, and pieces of the brain being scattered along the air before he suddenly moved away, leaping to another as he opened up his hand, the bones seemed to be popping back into place as they actually healed as he swung his hand.. Locking the fingers into the eye sockets of the mask before suddenly ripping it's skull off its shoulderblades before the head started to crumble away into dust.. After that though, the rest of the Hollows had already faded into dust from the pain of his reishi.. Now his body drenched in blood, he closed his eye for a moment before opening again.. His body suddenly stopping as his eye returned to normal.. There, he just stood.. Shaking in horror as he looked around as the obliterated trees and blood drenched area.. Then looked down at his hands, trembling in fear.. "I-I... No.. It.. It.. Happened.. Again..." Suddenly he became light headed, the forest suddenly spinning around him before he collapsed on the ground.. His eye still open as he stared blankly at the blood drenched forest floor.. His conscious didn't slip, as if he was being forced to look at what the monster in him had caused... It was.. A nightmare.. 〗

〖Kata only laid there.. He couldn't bring himself to move, or even speak.. Just staring blankly at everything he had just done, an eerie silence filled the forest before the sound of hurried footsteps echoed, getting louder and louder until the sound of dirt shifting went through his ears, as Kanami knelt down beside him and placed her hand on his shoulder.. There, he finally spoke, but remained motionless for the moment. "Stay away, Imouto.. " After that.. He went silent for a moment before shrugging off her hand, then started to slide his body away from her.. Slowly sitting up, before looking down as he trembled. "I-I'm.. A monster.. Worse than.. Hollows.." He said shakingly as he clenched his blood coated fist, closing his eyes tightly as he repeated.. ".. I'm a monster.." 〗

〖 Shuzo couldn't help but laugh a bit at her remark, shaking his head slightly. "Yeah, yeah, sure." He said as he listened to her explain why they shouldn't bring Muramasa of all swords.. Had Kata really gotten so bad that it would be enough to unlock what Muramasa was truly capable of? Not even Shuzo was capable of unlocking more than the basic power of Muramasa, let alone control any of it.. But, he nodded. Of coursethey wouldn't bring Muramasa, only the other four. "Alright.. Not a word about Muramasa, I see why you'd be worried.. I actually am too. " He said before nodding with Ayame, taking his sword out of the ground and putting it at his side with the others as he took off with her, actually needing her help to move for the time being..

After a series of flashsteps, the two finally arrived at the forest surrounding the Hirase Manor, only to see a ground drenched in blood and several trees completely blown apart or just knocked over. Both him and Ayame now had two of the unique blades sheathed at their sides, now he was able to at least walk on his own.. So he walked over to the two, probably with Ayame as he sat down beside them, just he sighed a bit.. Then quietly said. "Kata.. Listen.. Ya gotta keep calm, you're worrying us all, especially Kanami here.. I--"

Kata only found himself sitting up straight again, just staring at those who ad arrived as he took a moment to breath, then spoke quietly. "It's.. So hard.. I.. He only shook his head afterwards, resting his hand against it.. He didn't even know what to say, but Shuzo found himself looking over towards Ayame before motioning with his head to say something to Kata.. She was actually one of few people that managed to calm him down, her and his sister, and if Kanami wasn't achieving.. Maybe Ayame helping a bit would get results. 〗

〖 When Shuzo and Ayame arrived, Kanami frowned and stood protectively in front of Kata for a moment, thinking that they had talked to Hei and had come to take her brother away. When she realized they were just there to help, she relaxed, and once again sat down by the troubled boy, silent as usual. Ayame sat down next to Shuzo, looking down at Kata. She sure as hell was not the mother type, so she wasn't necessarily there to comfort him like Ayaka might, but she wanted to snap him out of his funk. "I know how you feel, Kata, more or less. Losing control, not being yourself, the lust of fighting and killing. I have it too, just in a different way." The woman rubbed the back of her neck; she wasn't one for sappy speeches. She was more used to tell the boy to 'Get the hell up!' or 'Stop whining and fight like a man!', but she figured neither of those would completely work in this situation. "But if I can manage to keep it together, then you can. You're smarter than I am, and I'm sure your willpower is just as strong as mine. It will be difficult, but you aren't alone." Standing up, Ayame held her hand down to the boy, so that she could pull him to his feet if he chose to accept it. 〗

〖 Kata only stared towards Ayame as she started to talk to him, in her own attempt to get him out of his current state of mind.. He was actually about to snap back at her about how she doesn't know how he feels, but.. Then he realized, she was a Perdu.. Something extremely rare in the realms, in fact she was the only officially known one.. And she couldn't keep her head whenever she was in the presence of Hollows, losing all control until she destroys all of them, and attacking anyone that got in her way.. It was.. Almost exactly like how he felt, except it could be triggered with aggravated emotion rather than a Hollow Presence, though feeling Hei's hollow presence seemed to influence his hollowfication a bit.. It got him thinking, and caused him to just look down, this was one of very few moments where he actually felt truly accepted by those around him, even if they were as close as Shuzo, Ayame, and Kanami who were basically his family. (Kanami actually being family.) Slowly, he glanced up at her as she stood and held her hand out.. His breathing seemed to return to normal, showing he actually calmed.. Meaning he was actually himself again, not an angry or depressed ticking bomb of reishi.. He only nodded looking up at her, as he held his hand up to grab hers as he pulled himself up from the ground, a bit of a smile curled at the edge of his lips. "I.. Guess you're right.. Sensei.. Despite what happens.. I'll have you three still, and.. Maybe I can get by..." He said as he passed a look towards Ayame, then Shuzo.. Finally his sister as he closed his eye, showing he was actually accepting.. Though, they probably knew deep down that it wasn't the entire truth, that this outer Kata was only temporary because his head was clearer.

Though, despite knowing this.. Shuzo knew this was the best state they would get Kata in, so he just smiled faintly, showing that he was glad that their student was back to himself.. For the time being anyways, so Shuzo brought two sword sheaths up into his lap as he spoke quietly. "Glad to have ya back, Kata.. Now.. I think me and Ayame can start the next lesson for you two... I'd like to call it.. The Will of the Blade, something to teach that connection is key with any weapon, whether or not it's a Zanpakuto." He said quietly as he glanced up at Ayame, he'd only 'officially' start on her say.

Though just what the lesson meant itself seemed to stir some emotion in Kata, he wasn't sure whether to be looking forward to the lesson, or afraid and not wanting to hear it.. Since he can't connect to his Zanpakuto as it is, but perhaps the lesson would help him.. Who the hell knows? 〗

〖 As soon as Kata was back on his feet, Ayame slapped him on the back, one of the closest symbols of support or endearment from her. She was glad she could snap the kid out of his depressed state, and least for a little while, and she hoped that the next lesson they taught them would help Kata more than anything. "There are four swords we're ganna use for this exercise. While they may resemble a zanpakuto, they are most certainly not. While a zanpakuto and Shinigami are born and created together, these swords do not depend on a Shinigami, and have Wills of their own. In order to unlock the power of the sword, you must connect with the true will of the sword." The woman gestured to one of the swords she had sheathed. "Shuzo and I have two of these blades with us currently. The other two reside in our home at the moment. Their names are Kurai Yoru, Rén Zhī Jiàn, Teikoku Tate, and Seirei no Kokū." 〗

〖Picking up where Ayame left off, Shuzo moved his swords to his side once again as he slowly rose to his feet, of course slightly shakingly.. Since the left side of his body wasn't in the greatest condition.. There, he rose a single sheath, it was black with a dragon engraved into it. "Like Ayame said, these swords, from the their very creation had Wills of their own, each one different from another.. However, knowing their Wills and connecting with their Wills are completely different.." He said quietly as he slowly unsheathed his sword, letting the faint sunlight through the trees gleam off of it. "This is Kurai Yoru, a sword that has been by me since I was a Lieutenant.. Given to me by Ayame-chan, who originally received it from her father, who received it from another. I can tell you it's will right now, but it wouldn't get you any further to connecting with it.. It's will, is to fight against the strongest of foes in a noble battle. However, in the eyes of Kurai Yoru, strength isn't how strong you can swing your weapon, or how much you can lift with your arms. It is the the strength of the will and honor that it seeks in it's opponents, as well as it's wielder. If you compared a muscle headed brute of Captain that just wanted to ******** s**t up, to someone who was only starting out, but kept on fighting for their dreams, or for the sake of others.. It wouldn't want to be wasted on the brute, such opponents are nothing but trash to Kurai Yoru, while the starter willing to fight for his friends and dreams would be an ideal opponent for Kurai Yoru, even if it could slay the starter in a swift motion." He said before finally taking a moment to breath, then unsheathing the sword, before passing the sword over to Kata for him to actually hold, then pointed to a tree. "Strike that tree with all of your might, then let Kanami do the same."

As he spoke, Kata hesitated for a moment before nodding, walking over to the tree, taking a deep breath before crying out like a bit of a battle cry "HYAAA" (Something like that) as he suddenly swung the sword, cutting through the bark before stopping only an inch or two inside the tree.. Honestly, it was nothing special, at least for the demonstration.. Though Kata thought it was a decent strike, before passing it over to Kanami for her to do the same.

Once they were done, Shuzo would only hold his hand out for the sword to be returned, as he followed up with a question. "Now.. Would you believe that this sword, even in the gentlest of hands is capable of cutting through the hardest of substances? The ultimate defenses? (Excluding Teikoku Tate) And even other powerful blades such as, even a Bankai Weapon? (Given certain circumstances.)" 〗

〖 Kanami listened silently while Shuzo explained a bit how the Wills of the swords worked, nodding occasionally. She was excited to hear about the different types of swords, quite different than Zanpakuto, and was glad to know that a Will like Kurai Yoru existed. Brute strength was overrated in her opinion. Yes, sometimes it could work, but it wasn't everything. The girl was curious to hear about the other Wills of the swords they had, but[ Shuzo instructed them to take his sword and swing at the tree. Once Kata was finished with trying, she took the sword from him carefully, holding it tightly in her hands and running forward, swinging at the tree with a quiet grunt, cutting a few inches through it, just as her brother had. Pulling the sword back, she walked over to her Sensei, and handing him his sword back before standing next to Kata again. At Shuzo's question, she girl hesitantly spoke up. "Any defense? Could it break one of Mother and Father's Kido barriers?" 〗

〖Kata watched and nodded slightly as she struck the tree, they were at about the same level, both getting a few inches into the tree.. Hell, that was good, especially for their age. Since Academy students were probably still only making small cuts on dummies, though now his attention was drawn back to Shuzo.. This blade itself.. Was it truly capable of that? Was it's true power able to give it such a cutting ability, to where nothing could stand in it's way? Kanami went ahead and asked a question that he was even wondering.. When it came to defense, their parents barriers were surely the strongest.. The question only caused Shuzo to smirk a bit as he clenched the blade handle tightly, letting it glow lightly. "Depending on the strength the sword is displaying.. And what state of power your parents are in, it may in fact be able to break through their barriers.. There of course, is a limit to simple cutting, but I want you to truly grasp what this sword is capable of at it's full potential.. " He said as his words trailed off, closing his eyes he held the sword in front of him horizontally, slowly running his fingers along the blade as it began to glow brighter, suddenly golden reishi flooding out of it before the center of the source darkened to jet black around the blade itself.. The sword suddenly growing before the reishi suddenly scattered, fading away with the air as in it's place, Shuzo held a massive sword in front of him, a blade darker than the night, while it's handle was golden and decorated with various jewels. The blade itself was seven feet long, while the handle added an additional two feet, the sunlight actually gleamed off the black blade to create a dark reflection as Shuzo whispered. "This.. Is Kurai Yoru's power revealed.. When it's will is made known to the world.. And in one swift motion.." Suddenly, the blade seemed to vanish for a moment, only leaving a black streak along the air before it froze in place once again, being held up high once again when suddenly, hundreds of trees within fourth of a mile radius began to slide, shifting as they fell of their trunks to the ground, showing that not only was the blade of cutting through countless thick trees in a single motion, but it actually released razor air currents that repeated the process and spread for just over a thousand feet.. Yet Ayame, Kata, and Kanami all remained untouched.

This.. Only left Kata with a widened eye, staring around as the once thick forest, was suddenly leveled for a fourth of a mile.. What.. What was this power that such a weapon held? All because the will of the sword was strong, it allowed such power that seemed to shake the earth, and was able to cut through anything that got in it's path... He was left speechless. 〗

〖 Kanami listened to Shuzo explain that depending on the state of power her parents were in, his sword could break through their defenses. She assumed a Bankai state would be enough to counteract his attacks, but it was still strange to think that he could break them. She watched him activate the true power of the sword, her eyes widening slightly. There was both beauty and an essence of intimidation that came from the sword. Golden and black reishi mixed together revealing a sword as black as the darkest of nights. It seemed that she only blinked once before the forest around them was leveled, and she looked around, her eyes growing even wider. It was hard to believe that such a blade could exist and cause so much destruction so easily. Ayame, unlike her students, was not so easily impressed. She grabbed her sheathed sword and whacked Shuzo upside the head with it, grumbling, "Show off.."

Now, a girl of the name Miyuki Seshiro had been napping up high in the branches of one of the trees before Shuzo had cut them down. She woke up with the ground shaking slightly, and suddenly the tree tilted, forcing her out and toward the ground. Luckily for her, she landed on something relatively comfortable, or rather someone, a certain blue haired boy. After landing on Kata, the girl sat up, brushing dust and small leaves and sticks from her long red hair, but she was still sitting on top of Kata's chest. Grinning, the girl looked down at him. "Oh, good morning."〗

〖Shuzo only flinched when he was suddenly whacked in the head by Ayame's sword sheath, causing him to hold the sword up with only one hand as he rubbed the back of his head, glaring at her for a moment. "You're just jealous cause you couldn't do this when it was yours." He said as the sword suddenly began to glow again, before the reishi seemed to crumble away, returning the sword to it's normal size as he sheathed the sword once again. Though, before he could even continue, he heard a loud thud, and looked over towards Kata who now had a redheaded girl.

As Kata was staring in amazement at the falling trees, he had no idea what was actually above him, suddenly, with a surprised gasp with the air also being forced out of his body as he fell back onto the ground, taking a moment, he slowly opened his eyes. "Geh.. What the hell..? " Then his eyes rested upon her, the one that he considered to be the annoying Seshiro, that seemed to always be drawn to him no matter how many times he basically tells her to ******** off. With a grunt, be put his hands on her sides, then just shoved her off to the side off of him. "Get off me, and stay off me, Akage Baka." He said as he slowly got up again, dusting himself off before glaring down at her with his single eye, then just closed it, muttering. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be making Coffee with Leere? And why the hell were you in a tree?"

Shuzo couldn't help but laugh a bit at Kata and Miyuki, he could see arguing already spewing up with the remark Kata made, Shuzo only attached the sword to his side again as he spoke. "Thanks for literally dropping in for a visit, Miyuki. Is Leere here too?" He asked, though she did go to the Academy, often times if she was near the Hirase Manor like they were Leere would be around. It was clear now with their surprise visitor that the lesson for the most part was over, they got the demonstration they needed. 〗

〖 Ayame scowled at Shuzo when he commented about her not being able to activate the will of Kuroi Yoru. It had just never really worked in her favor. Before she could open her mouth to make a comeback though, she heard a loud thud, and looked towards Kata, who now had Miyuki sitting on top of him. Kanami blinked in surprise, but smiled at her friend, raising her hand in greeting. "Good morning, Miyuki-san.." she said softly, even though it was the afternoon. Miyuki tended to be able to sleep whenever and wherever, and greeted people with 'Good morning' whenever she woke up, no matter what time of day it was. The younger Hirase just hoped that the inevitable fight between her brother and the redhead wasn't going to be as violent or loud as it usually was. Generally there was a lot of biting, punching, name calling and profanity, which was not something Kanami particularly wanted to watch.

Miyuki grunted quietly when Kata pushed her off of him, causing her to fall over on her side, but she sat back up again, brushing the dirt off of her. She seemed dressed more like a human girl than a Shinigami. She had on a light blue jacket, and short denim shorts. She has brown boots on her feet, and her hair was up in its usual pony-tail, held together by the black ribbon Leere had given her. She looked up at Kata when he spoke to her, just shrugging a little. "I'm here because Dad dropped me off here. I was in a tree because I was napping up there." The girl then looked over at Shuzo, who asked her another question. "Hm? Dad's.. Around somewhere," she started, gesturing around with her hands. "Doing.. Leere things." The redhead shrugged again and stood up, yawning and stretching out, since sleeping on branches wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world. Now that she was awake though, she was hungry, and would set about pestering Kata until he snapped and got her something to eat.〗

Shuzo only nodded a bit at Miyuki's response, that was Leere for ya... You never knew what he did, he just did.. Leere things. He said witha grunt, it was actually an excuse to get Leere to their house.. Ayame and Shuzo still owed Leere something for stranding them in this universe, they always gave him s**t about it, and they always fought around with him a bit because of it too. As he said that, he passed a glance towards Ayame, she knew what it was going to be about, though honestly the way he said that it sounded like Kanami was almost in trouble..
