It was bright.

For some of the students, the immediate sensation of something cold, the strange, clinical, overly bright atmosphere of the room might have set off a thousand warning bells.

It was bright. Four walls, simple enough. A door: locked, of course. A large window-like structure of non-reflective glass, most likely a viewing chamber from the outside. A series of crude, metallic beds, stacked one on the other, three on each side, six in total.

They were...?

Yin woke up, the cold biting through him as his eyes snapped open. Something was strange here, the room bright, something...wrong. Looking around it seemed...to be a dormitory? Immediately he got up, confusion setting in, looking around at figures he recognized but did not know. Other students? Why were they here?

"Miss Israfel?" he questioned hesitantly, honing in on the one he had danced with on the Isle of War. "Do you...where are we? If you do not mind me asking?" Something was seriously wrong here.

Amphi blinked as she woke up, her body still revolting from the sickening feeling of electricity and the net's weight on her. Her mind was a bit hazy as she eyed the room and the surroundings...other students were held here. Bright lights didn't help her vision, nor the onslaught of white and no color....

Was that...

"Mei!" The mermaid headed over to the broken doll first and then looked at the others, The only other ones she recognized was Amrita and Israfel..."Israfel and Amrita too?" The mermaid was confused as she looked at the other students.

Where was Roch and Danny?

Zar had found himself on the floor of the room when the chaos had broken out all around them. His reaction rather than joining the fight, had been to cower out of the way as the students picked the helpless hunters apart. It was brutal and to him had felt like a massacre more than a fight. He had determinedly taken no part in it. There had been a lot to note down and he had thought to himself even as he wrote that there would be so much to report afterwords. It dismayed him to think that it would be to authorities who probably in the grand scheme of things, wouldn't care at all.

Someone had netted him. And then, to his surprise the chaos had gone and exploded in a very un-businesslike and messy fashion and everything had gone dark.

When Zar woke, his immediate, scrambled thoughts were of how much time he could have lost while he was out. Napping wasn't efficient. And it also meant that he would have lost track of time, his schedule would be entirely de-railed. It was unacceptable, and he could almost hear the stern voice of his father reminding him why he would never be as powerful or as professional as him.

But as he squinted in the light and felt around frantically with his claws for his glasses which had fallen off, he realised that it certainly hadn't been a careless nap at all and something was most certainly all wrong. He shivered and drew his wings and tail around himself anxiously, where were they?

The beds were unsettling, the entire room had the air of a cell. His first instinct was to assume he was some manner of political prisoner, brought here because he had refused to fight the hunters. He had always known there was some greater conspiracy at work in the upper echelons of Halloween society, today it seemed would be the day he would be vindicated.

He was feeling surprisingly unenthusiastic about it.

It was the brightness that woke her. Unaccustomed to such light, it naturally assaulted her senses, dragging her back into consciousness with quite the unhappy grumble. Five more minutes she wanted to say, but as she took in the sights around her, words died on her lips. This...this wasn't good. This wasn't home...why were there so few of them here? The patchwork struggled to prop herself up on her elbows, trying to adjust to the dizzying clean of the room.

Her thoughts immediately went to Riley's cell.

Trembling quite visibly, Amrita slid off of her bunk (even if the fall did make her stumble upon impact), and took a squinting look around the room at those trapped with her. Every single one of them she recognized, some more than others of course.

She did the next thing she could think of; she headed to the door and gave it a sharp tug.

Locked.

"Jaaack..." Amrita whimpered out, wrapping her arms across her stomach to hold her elbows. "I-is...is everyone okay?" She couldn't resist asking, but as she did she dropped her arms and started to inspect herself, checking for any obvious new wounds or sudden stomach holes that hadn't been there before. It was a last ditch hope to bring reasoning that wasn't captured to their predicament, but even she knew it was futile to dwell on that line of thought.

That didn't mean she was ready to accept the truth.

Pain came with light and shadow, tearing into and pushing him into a dreamless slumber. At first the cool ground under him was comforting but soon his brain began to ask questions he couldn't answer. Where was the smell of the earth? Of water and wind? How come it was smooth, flat, where were rocks and cracks in the stone? What had happened? Why was it so bright? Questions the siren didn't know the full answers to. Opening his blue eyes they glowed momentarily before he wince, the light of the room semi blinding him.

This was not Amityville. Not even close. It was slightly reminiscent of the room he'd seen months past in the trial of death, though with less suffering. So far anyway. Groaning as he stood up Israfel gave his head a shake before looking around. The window made him pause to go over and tap the glass. "Curious, you'd think they would try to hide such viewing portals from us. Less chance we think to try and use them for escape."

Not that he bet they could. In all his encounters with the hunters, they were nothing if not wary. They had their traps, and they dearly hated to lose. Looking to Yin he sighed, wings shuffling behind him. "Most likely we are in a holding chamber at the will of the Hunters. I would suggest, from experience, not to try and force our way out. In each case I've been a apart of and observed, they have taken precautions against our struggles, and our energy is best conserved for a later time."

Looking to Amphi and then Amrita he nodded. "I am fine. It seems it is just us. Though I am unsure if others might have been taken. It would be we act as though this is the worst case scenario, and the majority, if not all students have been captured. If they have, it would also seem a sound bet that they are held nearby and in rooms much like this one."

Blue eyes scanned for any signs of a speaker. "If it is all the same, I would like to know what happened under the school and why Medea and the heirs of all people knew of it." He didn't trust the horsemen, not after what he'd been told.

"It's probably just an easier way to watch what we do." Amrita grumbled, paying very little attention to the little window. Israfel did a damn good job smashing up any last ditch effort of hope she had; the truth came crashing down, but she did her best to stay floating, so to speak. "This is gonna sound mean, but...I hope it's just us." There were a lot of students in that room...Amity would have taken a huge hit if they all ended up down here. Nobody deserved this treatment, but if someone had to she figured it would be better in small groups.

Hopefully everyone else got out in time, somehow.

"Which time under the school?" A single grey eye turned curiously towards Israfel, the ghoul missing half her face as always. The time from the Trance, or the time just...wait, how long had they been in here? Huh. "The Horsemen seem to know everything that goes on...they never tell us Jack." The patchwork scoffed regardless of his answer, holding herself so tightly her dark fingers grew lighter. No matter what she said or how she said it, her voice was trembling. She was trying to keep a brave face, but under the circumstances, knowing what they were capable of...

He shrugged. "I don't think that sounds mean. If they only got us, it means the others are probably safe." If Jericho was captured, things could, and doubtlessly would, go south rather too quickly for Israfel's liking. Wings shuffling he sat down on one of the beds. "The horsemen also aim to kill the humans and subjugate them. I was told they attempted to destroy the human world once. An event hunters stopped. So when I think upon it, I imagine we are small fraction in a war much larger than we could have anticipated."

A heavy sigh and he felt back. "The horsemen have shown they care little for us on a whole, and see us as beneath them. The Hunters show contempt and hate for us, yet their hate was, is, deeper for the horsemen. If we play a role, it is one not of our own knowledge, as I do not think Medea showed us those memories for our own benefit." There was a slight edge to his voice.

"We have been taken. For the time being, we must wait. Our absence will not go unnoticed. There are too many others there who care about their fellow students well being to simply not notice us."

Zar snorted from his bunk and pulled his knees up to chin level.

"How do you even know with certainty that we are in the hands of the hunters? Often true corruption lies within. The horsemen are and were the true evil machination behind every major incident that has happened of late. I tried to warn people when we were being exploited. I spoke to hunters, collated my information, found information that was being concealed from us about the horsemen and their intentions. Long before all of this occurred. " He sighed wearily.

"Of course no one listened to me. No one ever listens to me."

He gave the siren a measured look for his comments - which to the very logically minded Incubus, seemed fairly straightforward and obvious assumptions about their containment for the most part - before going on to add.

"Their world was destroyed for being a direct and imminent threat to the human world, they were intending to invade. I heard this from various sources, not least of which was a hunter." he remembered the conversation with Jordan, the hunter in the haunted house. "We would have been next on the agenda, and we would have welcomed them to take us under their care for saving us from the very enemy - the hunters - that they made us fear." he shook his head despairingly.

"If we are in the hands of the hunters collectively we deserve it for siding with the true malevolent force." He resented his peers more than anyone else, if it was a battle of many factions, he wished daily that he could switch sides and embrace the illusion that was his natural ability entirely.

He trailed off to silence, realising he was likely ranting to an unappreciative audience, most people assumed of late that he was some sort of raving conspiracy nut who was only marginally believable at best.

Yin watched curiously as others woke and moved around, attention drawn to their surroundings. It was uncomfortable, the coolness not letting him rest, knowing that if he did it could simply sap the energy from him. Hunters were mentioned, and it only made sense. They had been with them, the chambers with their sterility, the barest of necessities, were reminiscent of things that he did not wish to remember.

"If escaping becomes a necessity," he said quietly, hoping that no one outside the room could overhear him, "I will go before you." There were ghouls in the room, and a boil he did not know, but maybe he had a chance. A slim chance, but he needed to at least attempt. Especially if Alexander was held in one of those rooms.

He could not help but agree with the ghoul...Miss Amrita he thought. Miss Meixiang had said that it was she that ran the Yearbook, and he thought he recognized her from when he left off the form. It would be best if there was no one else like this. But for the horseman to tell them everything? "But...why would they? When I was on the Isles it did not seem as though they thought very highly of students. They probably do not trust us with their knowledge." He looked down at the ground. "If...if you do not mind me saying. Miss...Amrita is it? I am Yǐn Cáng." If it was just them he might as well share his name with the other students, and even if it was overheard by hunters it was meaningless.

Then a thought crossed his mind, one brought on by what had just transpired. "Everyone in here is a student?" He did not know all of the others personally, though most of them seemed to know at least one other. He might have glanced pointedly at Zar, who seemed to actually speak with hunters. That was confusing, and in a time when everything was turned upside down the mantodae was looking at everything in a new light.

The siren rolled his eyes as he laid on the 'bed'. "Please, do wave around the information that you apparently failed to act upon. Speaking is one thing, but taking true action is another. You think people listen to ramblings? They listen to their hearts, their feelings. You cannot change a person's feelings with words, you change them with actions. Of course no one will listen to you." He snorted.

"Frankly, I don't even know who your are. I have seen you, but that is as far as that. I have a year's experience and have spoken to many hunters, as well as horsemen. So while you are good to question, it is better to look at one's credentials. You say you spoke to a hunter. So the word of one is now fact? Foolishness. So please, tout your knowledge, because I am willing to bet it's lacking." There was an acidic bite to his tone. "No one knows all things as fact. I speculate and make conjectures, and try to act on what I think to be true and explain my reasoning. You have words? I have experience." Feather ruffled.

"Experience I wish I'd rather not have. I was a fool, but you're more the fool than I." Looking up he realized they did not deserve his frustration. "I am strained and for that I apologize, but do not dare to say anyone deserves what befalls them. No one deserves suffering, not those who wish for genocide, or those who commit it. Do not dare to say that suffering is deserved." There was an evident threat under there, as though his tone had been level, the siren didn't look the least bit warmly to the demon. "Perhaps it is good they have lost their home, and I have spoken ill of them and wished ill once upon a time. But I cannot wish suffering upon them. Just as I cannot wish it upon a hunter or even you."

Looking to Yin he shrugged. "They have various reasons. Their culture was one separated from our own and they were isolated in that way. They also go against the laws of our world. Their existance is bound to the end of the human world. They were thought to be the ones who would bring in a new era. Thousands of years of isolation is not undone overnight. And as I have seen all in this room before, I would say yes, we are all students."

Mei awoke last, unwilling to get up with her head throbbing as it is. She must have had the worst headache she could ever think of having right now.

All the voices in the room felt distant at the moment, blurred. She could barely hear what it was everyone was saying. Sitting up in a groggy like state, Mei's eye focused, and her hearing slowly returned back to normal. In front of her was Amphi. The ghoul look stressed. "Amphi..?" Wait--the battle with the hunters! Danny, Tybalt, Remi and Vaith? Where were they? Where was she come to think of it?

Moving to stand, she regretted it the instant she tried, sliding back down to the ground with a hand over her head, rubbing it tenderly. Those blasted nets sure left her in a world of hurt every time she was snared in one. Scanning the room, she found that it was not only Amphi here either. Rita was here, as was Israfel. She had seen Yin and Zar about before, but had never really had the chance to speak with them before now. But it appeared they were they only ones here in this..room. "Where are we..?" Somehow, she figured she already knew the answer to her question. This place held the smell of a lab, and hunters..

Were any of the other students here maybe? Stuck in rooms similar to this one? Or were they just the unlucky few? Finally looking back to Amphi and Rita, the doll lightly waved them off with an uneasy smile. "I'm fine." Aside from the nets, she hadn't been hurt at all.

Amphi sighed in relief as she looked over Mei one more time, making sure there wasn't that needed immediate healing action .

"that's good." She smiled weakly and looked at the rest of the students. It seemed that they were stuck in the hunters household, far from their own home. What hunters wanted to do with them is another matter completely.

Weaponization was her first thought and she shuddered, her body trembling at the idea of becoming one of the weapons that the hunters carried around. Attacking her friends...She couldn't do it.

The argument caught her attention though, her eyes wide as Israfel spoke. Though she offered nothing in return, she was reeling from the possible idea that again, horsemen were involved with this.

"I'm...really scared Mei..." Amphi seeked the the broken doll's hand...
PostPosted: Thu Jul 19, 2012 8:17 am

Well, it was at least nice to know they agreed with her, that was a start.

"I don't mind, you're right, really. Nice to meet you, Yin Cáng." Amrita stopped pacing before the Monster, offering out her left hand (as with the way her hands twisted, it was more physically her right) in greeting. Trapped or not, manners were manners. "I just think it's incredibly unfair..." She trailed off with a sigh, shaking her head.

The patchwork continued moving around the empty room; she liked confined spaces, but this one was making her incredibly uncomfortable. Standing still just wasn't in her cards today, not here, and she spent a great deal of time pacing at first, looking at what little there was to look at, offering Mei and Amphi weak smiles as she passed them. While she moved she listened to everything being said, and turned to regard them carefully.

"I would have listened." She assured Zar, and she meant it. "I wouldn't have agreed, but I would have listened and thought about it." But to the rest of the conversation, the Patchwork rolled her eye. "How do you suppose he could have acted on that, huh? He said he did his research, but what more can you do with that than, you know, tell people?" Besides, she didn't often see him around when s**t hit the fan, maybe that was his way of doing something - or maybe she just hadn't been attentive. Either way, really. Her backward hands folded across her stomach again, once more holding her elbows.

"And you-" She turned to Zar again, frowning. "I'm sorry, I don't know your name, but...nobody deserves this. All we've done is try to stay alive." They were students, not yet come into their full power, and yet they were being hunted. "And if I've 'sided' with them, it's only 'cause they were there when the Hunters attacked my friends." The Vetala didn't once raise her voice, she didn't sound angry or irritated; she just sounded tired. She didn't care about the struggle between the factions; it didn't matter that there were underhanded games at play. To Amrita, the problem was clear; the Hunters were hurting her friends, so she was going to hurt the Hunters. She didn't want to play whatever game she was thrust into.

"Does that mean if the Horsemen save us from here - and they have come to our aid countless times in the past - you'd refuse their help?" She asked, sounding a little sad at the thought. Accepting their help would be siding with the 'true malevolent force', right? As far as Amrita was concerned that was all the 'siding' she had done with them. Where was the teachers? The Boogeymen? It seemed they only appeared after the fact, and only to get them in trouble, take things from them or generally make it worse. Arel aside, of course.

Amrita sighed, then waved a hand in dismissal.

"Look...this is all well and fun, but this really isn't the time to fight about who is right and who is wrong." She looked over her shoulder at the door, and then immediately turned to face it. It was a bad idea to put her back to the enemy, right? "I don't know if you noticed, but we're stuck in a cell and we don't know what is on the other side of that door." A twisted hand gestured towards it before falling limply at her side. "The six of us are all we have right now. Lets just focus our energy on staying alive and getting out of here." It was no use fighting each other.

Her attention was given to Mei, offering the broken doll a weak smile. "Wish I knew..."

The argument going on between some of them was causing Mei's stress level to rise a bit more than it already had. She didn't blame them though..she wanted to rant and argue right along with them, and she probably would have if her head didn't feel as though it was about to explode. Instead, she attempted to tune them out. Not that it worked. She could hear every word they were saying.

Her gaze landed on the mermaid ghoul again when she spoke. She could understand. She was scared too. The thought of being turned into..those weapons had scared her ever since she had discovered what it was they had previously been. She refused to become one, and she never would. Not willingly anyways.

Mei tried to pull a smile on, hopeful that her fear didn't show through her mask of emotions while she comforted Amphi. "Its okay. Somehow, we'll get out of this okay. Alright?" Though, if there was a slight chance they didn't..she wanted to phone Bul to at least say goodbye or something. But without a phone on her, and the problem of Bul still being without a phone, made this wish impossible. That was even to say if they could reach them from here. The hunters had probably taken care of that little detail.

Looking to Amrita, Mei returned a pitiful smile of her own, and gave a halfhearted shrug. "Well, I guess we'll find out in due time then." As much as she hated seeing any of them captured, she was happy that she wasn't alone in this. Though the idea of anything happening to any of them still made her sick.
