Shahidi did not know what she'd gotten herself into on that ill-fated day, nor how she was supposed to get out of it. Day in and day out it was hard. He walked a lot, and she was expected to keep up pace. Not only that but he expected her to hunt from him; even though he would always accompany her and never gave her even a moment of privacy. It was waring on her mind. At least she'd gotten much better at hunting thanks to the whole ordeal.
They didn't speak much, which was also tiring somehow. She was expected to stay quiet unless spoken to first. All of it just seemed to be building up this quiet fury in her, which was new and exciting and terrible all at once. She moved slightly ahead of the male. Not far, but ahead enough so he could keep an eye on her. The sun had just sunken past the horizon and they'd only woken up a short bit ago.

All in all, Fsi-toyo was having…not a good time, yet not a bad time with his new servant. She kept quiet, which was a good thing; Fsi was sure he couldn’t deal with a high pitched tone of a lion, or one that would disobedient towards him. He found rather a pleasant specimen in Shahidi for the fact that did listen well. Most lionesses the darker lion would come across had the nerve to fight back against him. Did they not know who they were exactly dealing with when they started that battle? Surely not.
Fsi could still feel the drowsiness of their last sleep in his bones. He hated that sluggish feeling it gave him. If he had it his way everyday (which he liked to think he did on most days), Fsi would be lying next to multiple females right now, instead of trudging across the hot african plains in search of nothing.
When the lioness had moved in front of him, the large male had instant brought a front paw, claws and all, out from under his body, swiping at the female’s flank with ears flattened against his skull.
“Did I tell you you could walk in front of me?” Fsi hissed out, his bright eyes narrowing. So, she listened… most of the time…

Shahidi hissed as she stumbled forward, gasping as she tried to take back the defiant sound. She stood still for a moment, eyes wide. She wanted to turn around and claw him back, and that notion terrified her. She knew it would not end well if she did so. "No Fsi-toyo." She breathed out, struggling to keep the hurt and anger out of her tone.
She waited a moment, or was she supposed to be the one to move back? She turned around slowly, trying to hide the wince when she put weight on her hind leg. Was she allowed to check it? She was sure it wasn't that bad. "I apologize." She said dully, and hated herself a little more. She took the few steps back before she was beside him again and turned back the way they were going.
He had a horrible temper, she hated it. And him. Her frown was deep, and a light had recently come into her gaze the past few days. A defiant light, though she hadn't acted on it yet.

A normal lion would likely have taken the apology, and left it at that. But not Fsi.
No. Fsi was different.
His ears remained pinned down as she addressed him. She dare call him by his name? Only lions of his stature were allowed to address him as such. Such filth as the pinkish Shahidi did not have the honor bestowed upon her. She could call him by master, and master alone. Fsi could feel the emptiness of the apology, which only seem to anger the male more. Lionesses were such pathetic creatures. They didn’t know who was boss. Shahidi needed to learn her place when in Fsi’s presence.
With a quick leap from the ground, the male tackled onto the lioness, the glare still evident in his eyes.
“How did you just address me, girl?” He sneered, tail lashing as he refused to move. Perhaps Shahidi needed a lesson now.

She whimpered and tried not to cry out as he was suddenly tackling her. She felt the impact of her ground to her body, knew that her back would not be happy in the hours to come. She winced and jerked her gaze away, eyes shutting. All inklings of defiance fled her mind in a panic, instantly fear drowned out all other emotion.
She did not want to look at him, but knew this was probably wrong. But she shouldn't look him in the eye, that was probably wrong too. She could feel her whole body shuddering and she wished she would instead lie still. She brought her gaze slowly back towards him, focusing on his chin. It was easy to stare there, or right above his eyes. Even his paws were a good place to stare... His markings were interesting to look at, beautiful even. It was odd to her how the ugliest of lions had the most beautiful pelts.
Was she supposed to repeat what she had called him, or apologize again? Only once his name had slipped past her maw had she remembered that he did not like her to call him by it. "M-master, I meant. Master." She stuttered out, feeling sick to her stomach. This was terrible, she should have never had to live a life feeling this hateful of herself. She thought perhaps she would have been better off dead.
"I had not meant... I'm sorry master." She tried not to mumble, tried to say everything right but was never fully sure of what right meant to Fsi. His moods scared her, the way they changed.

Fsi-toyo just hmphed, giving her one last shove into the ground before removing his body from on top of her.
“Call that a warning. I only give one, and looks like you just used it.” He flexed his shoulders back, his bright gaze still strong upon the bright pink body on her. “You should be gracious, and learn your place quickly. Unless you want to see what happens when there are no more warnings to protect you.” At this statement, his claws flexed out, digging into the softened earth beneath them.
He did admit though, having his new pet around did bring some interest to the day. Dominating the lioness brought more excitement to him then actually sleeping all day and being brought free meals.
Speaking of meals… “Pet. I am hungry.” It was a simple statement, which wasn’t truly meant to be answered or continued through a conversation.
“You will hunt for me. If you don’t bring fresh meat back here by the time the sun is low to the ground, well…I’ll let you just think of the consequences.”

When the male moved off of her she let out a long, slow and what she hoped was quiet breath. She relaxed slightly, but knew she was still on edge. She would probably be on edge constantly with the brute around. Her false sense of security fluttered away when he admitted that what had just happened had been her one and only warning. She swallowed, "Yes master." She again had to force herself not to mumble the words in embarrassment.
She cringed slightly; she was not the best of hunters so his news was grave at best. Something flickered in the back of her mind, a thought that had been important moments ago but she could not quite grasp at the moment... what had it been?
Her ears lowered slightly and she stared down at her paws for a moment before looking back towards him. "Yes Master." She said again, and the back of her throat turned sour. Was she condemned to saying only these two words for the rest of her life? Perhaps one day even 'no' would get added to her vocabulary... oh what a sad path her life had suddenly took!

Ah, good. She had learned her lesson. The words ‘yes master’ flowed so nicely from her throat, like the sweet sounds birds in spring. Fsi could definitely get used to it. Maybe one day, he would let other words flow out of her pretty little mouth. That was, when she became much more obedient to him.
Since she was doing so well after their first ‘lesson’, Fsi decided to give just a hair of leash to the female. “Well, what are you waiting for? I’ll give you until sun down,” already the sun was halfway between the mid sky and ground, meaning her hunting time was very short. Though he wasn’t going to let her be on her own, he would watch her from a distance. She was a rather clumsy lioness after all, she wouldn’t get too far. If she did try to escape him, well…

She eyed the horizon with some worry. Would she even be able to catch anything on her own, with that little of time left in the day? "Y-yes master." She said, suddenly moving away. She glanced back over her shoulder after she was a bit away from the nasty male. Her heart felt like it was breaking; he was following from a distance.
She let her gaze slide forward again so she could pay attention on what she was doing. She prayed to the gods to let her have a little luck this time.

His dark nose twitched as he stopped following her. He’d watch her from his spot here. Her pelt was so light that it would be easy to spot in the waning sunlight, as the land usually emitted a more darkish glow across the savannah. Fsi flexed his paws in the dirt, lowering his body. He truly was a lazy creature, and having a female to do his bidding was just the topping on the cake.
The dark male lion hoped the lioness wouldn’t run. He didn’t have the urge to chase her right now. His few swipes at her could have marked into her already stupid brain would be best warning. She was already calling him master, and that only took five minutes.
