The two made their way to Eowyn, talking about many different things. One being their relationship. They weren't ever officially dating and that was obviously something both of them had wanted.
The boat rested upon the shores of Eowyn as the two jumped out and began to walk towards the dragons roost. "I'm very glad you're alright with the plan, Kav. I was a little nervous, but I knew that you loved dragon hunting, and so this is a reminder of our first real time together." he said.
Oh what a romantic thought. Kavanna was overjoyed by his attempt at making her heart throb, obviously she was extremely happy with him and his loving attempt. "Oh, this was a perfect idea. Thank you so much for taking me with you. I love that you thought to do it." she said in response.
As the two walked through the deserted area, Alex stopped a moment. "Kav, there's something I want to ask you." he began. "Will you...be my girlfriend?" he asked, a light tint of red flowing to his cheeks.
"WILL I!? You don't have to ask me twice!" Kav squealed before taking her new boyfriend in for a hug and finally, a very romantic kiss.
The kiss lasted longer than expected, but the two finally felt comfortable enough with one another that they could do that without fear of judgement. Though it wasn't the most romantic way to propose to date, it was now official, and the only thing Kav could think about was her new boyfriend. The two held hands all the way to the place where Alex had planned for them to go.
Kaiatasel.
"Kaiatasel? I've been here before...and I'm far too scared to try and fail again. I haven't been able to beat a Firani dragon yet...probably because they're my greatest enemy." she said nervously.
"Don't worry, we'll be fine. Trust me. We can do it together." he said with a smile at the base of the great volcano.
With a sigh and a nervous gulp, the Dovaa agreed and the two made their way up the swirling mountainside. In the distance was that devious dragon, the one that had beaten Kavanna so many times before, roosting ever yet on that same spot, ready to attack if need be.
Kavanna slowed her steps until she came to a complete halt. "I-I can't go on anymore. That is the same dragon that has scared me off so many times before." she said, taking a few steps back.
"Trust me, we can do this together!" he said with a smile.
A slight agreement was made and the Dovaa nodded, slowly making her way closer to her Orderite boyfriend. The dragon caught eye of the two and screeched for help. Then fired off a ball of flames towards the lovers.
With a war cry, Alex ran with immense speed towards the dragon, dodging the fire ball. Kavanna dodged it as well, staying put where she was at. The clashing of the sword against the dragon's claws made the most scary sound Kav had ever heard. She was afraid for her friends life.
Suddenly, great balls of fire began to rain down upon the dirt path where they were standing. Kavanna watched and waited for them to stop before moving closer to Alex. The clinging and clanging of the sword finally ended with a great yelp from the dragon. Kavanna hadn't done anything, but looked up to see that the dragon that Alex had stabbed, was not dead but firing off a burst of fire in her direction. She side stepped towards the outer ledge, where the dragon sent off another burst in her direction once more.
The Dovaa couldn't move anywhere without being somewhat burned, but she managed to make her way closer to Alex by running up the outer edge of the dirt path. One more shot of fire and this time it was over. Kavanna screamed and a major portion burned her left bicep, rolling all the way up her arm, to her shoulder and up her neck, flying off in every direction before it hit her cheek. She was pushed back and lost her footing, falling with the pebbles off of the mountainside.
"KAVANNAAAAA!!!" her boyfriend cried as she fell, holding his hand over the edge, fiery flames bursting behind him. Then, everything went black.
~~~~~
"Oh! She's waking up! Kavanna, Kavanna, can you hear me? Please, say something?" a kind, warm voice spoke over her, echoing in her ears.
"Wh-where am I? Wh-what happened? OW! What? Ffff...my shoulder...my neck...ow..." she asked the voice.
"This should help." another said, a bright light showing, almost blinding Kavanna. Though, the feeling of it soothed her pain.
"Kav! Are you alright? I'm so so very sorry for ever taking you there. Please, please forgive me!" an anxious, very breath taken voice pleaded.
"Shh, Alexander, give her time to recover." the first voice spoke once again.
A shuffling of feet was heard and Kavanna began to sit up, soreness throughout her entire being. She rubbed her eyes and looked about the room she was in.
"I was quite worried about you, young one. I'm glad to see you're safe." the elderly voice spoke again.
"I'm alright, oh man, what happened to me?" she asked.
"My brother, your boyfriend, Alexander, took you to Eowyn to dragon hunt. You were hit by fire and fell off the side of Kaiatasel and fell unconscious." the girl explained. "He escaped and brought you all the way back here to Serenia for my mother and I to heal you. But I think you'll be just fine." she concluded.
The Dovaa looked intently at the people around her. She felt her neck, which now had a dragging, ugly, wrinkly feeling to it. Her eyes flew open wider. She jumped up and scurried to the bathroom to view the extent of her damages in a mirror. The top of her bicep all the way to her jaw was completely burned and scarred. She fell instantly into insecurities. Grabbing her neck she fell to the toilet seat, tears beginning to fall down from her face. Apparently she hadn't been healed fast enough and the burns turned to scars. There was nothing she could do about it now.
Sobs were heard from inside the bathroom as Alex stood, knocking. "Can I come in please?" his voice soft and sweet. A soft 'Mhm' was heard and the boy entered.
"I'm so glad you're okay, what's the matter." he said.
"You saved me, you could have died just as easily as I could have. Now, I have a battle scar to remind me of your bravery, but at the same time, I'm now a hideous beast." she cried, more tears welling up within her green eyes.
"You are never hideous, you're the most beautiful girl I've ever met. A strong individual as well. Please, don't look down upon yourself at all. You're amazing just how you are." he assured her.
"I don't feel strong or beautiful." she said, looking towards the mirror once more. "I think I just need to be alone." she said, getting up from her seat and walking into the living room.
"Thank you both for your kindness in helping me. I'll be back later in the month. I just need time to heal and rest." she said, bowing her head before scurrying out the door.
Alex began to go after her, but Alora stopped him before he got to the door. "Let her be alone for now. That's what she wants. She'll come around again. Just give her the time that she needs and be there for her every step of the way." the wise words of his older sister rang true. That was exactly what he was going to do.[ 13(30/26)=15exp gained.
