
Lucian once again found himself out beyond his nest gathering food for his broken father. The stallion had slept in again, forgetting that this morning he had to go and gather food for his family. Which left the responsibility square on the shoulders of the young colt. It wasn't like Lafayette was a bad father. He loved Lucian and his sisters. He'd never thought any different. He was such a selfish father. Wanting more to wallow in his own misery over the loss of his mate than care for his children.
And because of that, Lucain could never truly dislike his father, just his actions. If he did not love the stallion, then he would not be out here, working like he was. He just wished there was a way to make him be a better father. A better stallion. If only their mother was here.
