It had already been a day but he had heard a few of the whispers as he walked along, about what it was that he had done, and he couldn't really say that he regretted even a bit of it. He knew what he was doing, knew that it was something that needed to be done, and while punching a civilian wasn't exactly his most grandiose moment the man had asked for it! Giving a bit of a huff he walked over toward where Tzo as sunning herself, "Come on, beautiful, we need to go and talk with R'yn before he hears about my adventures in kidnapping from anyone else." He told her, climbing up onto her back and gave her a pat on the neck before he chuckle, seeing the look that she was giving him, the one that clearly said she was going to give him a kick in the backside if he got them exiled for his latest stunt, "Come on, you know you'd of done the same thing if you were there."
The dragon seemed to shrug, 'I will never admit to such a thing, Mine.' She said to him simply, obviously not willing to admit that she might have very well done the same thing that her rider had done the night before. The man had been rude, as well as borderline cruel, and to his own young. Such a thing shouldn't be allowed! Grumbling to herself the large green pushed off the ground and up into the sky, 'You best not get us exiled, Mine, unless it is to a warm, sunny island somewhere.' She told him in her normal, serious tone of voice. She didn't know the one that G'deon had stolen, nor did she know if he was worth exile, but at least if they did get sent of somewhere she would make sure it would be somewhere nice.
"Alright, alright. I will make sure that if we are banished from Ista that we end up on a nice island somewhere. One that you and the flits will enjoy, alright?" He said with a laugh. Tzo was always so serious so when she made a joke, even if it were in that same serious tone that she always used, he couldn't help but be amused. Perched one on each shoulder were his flits, enough of a handful on their own, and he gave a bit of a chuckle. The boy was going to have his hands full with his own and he meant to do what he could for that wide eyed cutie who was currently sleeping off the stress of the night before in his bed. Not that he'd done anything but watch him sleep, Tzo would have had his hide if he tried to do anything but look after him after all.
As they circled around, coming down to land in R'yn's weyr, the greenrider drew in a deep breath to steadying himself. Were it any other bronzerider in the world he'd start off the conversation with some sort of flirting or compliment or the like, when it came to this one though he was going to be on his best behavior. Especially given his antics of the night before, "Weyrleader?" He called out, "Are you in?" A part of him almost hoped that he wasn't...

"No," came R'yn's voice almost at once. One could hear the smile in his voice. Oh, the Weyrleader was up to some mischeif, that was certain. "Come back later." He reached out an arm and felt around for G'deon's arm before pulling the greenrider in. "Shh," the black haired man said, putting a finger to his lips. "Did you come to play cards?"
He grinned mischeviously. "Come on. I've been stuck working on repositioning my riders for the last two candlemarks." He hesitated, and then wrinkled his nose. "You called me Weyrleader, didn't you? I'm R'yn. G'deon, yes? Greenrider--of Tzofith--yes? T'nus' wing?" He gestured to a chair. "Sit down, then. We can talk over cards." He released his hold on the man's arm and ran a hand through his hair. The young Weyrleader did so like to be able to claim he knew each of his riders by name--that was nonsense, of course. With recent transfers, he had to work to keep up with the changes within the Weyr as much as anyone else did.
He took his deck of cards and shuffled quickly. He offered seven to G'deon, and took seven for himself.

"No?" Well that wasn't the answer that he was expecting to hear when he had called out to see if the Weyrleader was about he thought to himself. Come back later? Well he supposed that he could do that but he rather wanted to get this over and done with, wanting to tell the man and learn his possible punishment. Of course before he could consider leaving he found himself getting dragged into the weyr by the one in charge of all of them. He was asked if he had come to play cards and for a moment he couldn't seem to find his voice. Cards? Was someone supposed to meet him for cards? The Weyrleader must have mistaken him for someone else he thought to himself.
Listening to the man speak of his work and how long he'd been working on it he could understand why it was that he had been hoping for a game of cards, to help to save him from the drudgery, "Yes, I am G'deon, my beauty Tzo is over there." He said, motioning to where the dragon was waiting for him. She was as worried as he was though she was hiding it behind her normal, ever serious facade. She was waiting, listening, and likely hoping that this went more smoothly then what G'deon was worrying over. Coming to sit down in the chair that was pointed out to him the greenrider lifted a hand up to scratch the snoozing brown flit while his other one was already circling around overhead as though excited over where they were exploring today. G'deon gave Skye a momentary glance before he looked back to R'yn once more.
"So, cards, huh? It's been a bit since I have played cards for fun instead of doing it for marks or items of clothing." He commented as he looked at his cards for a moment, rearranged them to his liking, then glanced at R'yn, "So you have been shut in here a while?" He asked, a curious tone in his voice.

"We could play for marks," R'yn said with a shrug and a smile. "Ticene might not approve, but I have enough to spare a few," he said, not making any mention of the clothing idea. Ticene certainly wouldn't approve of that. Nor did he feel like undressing in front of another man. He took his cards and paired the two threes he had, placing them on the table. "Do you have any twos?" he asked.
R'yn wasn't a gambler. He had been born and raised in the Weyr--and it took talent to have been able to entertain him with anything, let alone cards. He knew a few games from his days as a candidate, but not the more serious ones. "Oh, yes. All day," he complained, but offset the complaint with a smile. "Strategy's important. I have to get these to our Weyrleader's before the end of the day." He paused and studied G'deon. "Why?" he asked. "Did you need something? Because if it's important, we should do that before we finish our game."
As long as they did play, eventually, it was fine. "Or were you looking to talk to Ticene?"

G'deon glanced over at R'yn for a long moment before he gave a chuckle, "I would but I wouldn't want to get you in trouble with the Weyrwoman by taking all of your marks, Weyrleader." He said, sounding as though he were amused by the idea of it. He hadn't ever been with a woman personally, so he had no idea how they were by personal experience, but he'd sure seen others getting chewed out by them. They were more frightening then any wild wher out there if you asked G'deon. Look through his cards he held a two out of the Weryleader when he was asked for it. He then looked through his cards, "And fives?"
When R'yn commented on how he'd been at it all day, "Eesh, that doesn't sound like any fun." He said as he looked up at him then gave a nod, "But I understand, strategy is the most important thing else you end up like me." He lifted a hand to run a finger along the side of his neck where his thread scar started, "I'd prefer my fellow riders be saved such a thing by your strategies, it was quite an indescribable pain I will tell you what." As he said that Tzo hummed in agreement, having the same scar on the same side of her body, the two of them being bitten by the same bit of thread that day so long ago. The game seemed suddenly to pause and R'yn was looking at him in a more serious manner that had the greenrider shifting in place, especially when he asked if he needed something, that if it was important they should do that before they finished their game.
G'deon seemed for a moment thoughtful, shuffling the cards he held in hands as though nervous, "Yeah, it is a little important I would rather be the first one tell you before someone else comes running to you." He knew he'd teased a few bronzeriders in the past, well more then a few, that would be more then happen to tell the Weyrleader to get G'deon in hot water. It was why he'd come here straight away, "Ahh... I might have kidnapped someone during the gather." He said, sounding a little apologetic over what he'd done perhaps but not at all regretful. It was as if felt what he'd done what was the right thing and, if you asked him, it was. The man from yesterday had been out of line, severely so, and didn't deserve the rather sweet boy that he'd been taking his anger out on and over something that few got so upset over... and then the moment that G'deon got involved the man lashed out at G'deon and 'queer greenriders' in general. It was about then that G'deon had taken a swing... but they would get into that next.

R'yn smirked. "You underestimate me," he teased. "It is I that would end up with all your marks." He took the card offered and placed it on top of his two, placing them on the table. "Go fish," he said, shaking his head. "Do you have any fours?" he asked.
"It is rather important," R'yn agreed with a sigh. "You've had the healers look at that, yes?" he asked, frowning slightly as he studied the scar. "And Tzofith?" He didn't know much about the healercraft, having been raised in the Weyr and given only basic harper lessons. "I agree," he muttered, rolling up one sleeve so G'deon could see the threadscore on his arm. It was faded; it'd happened two turns ago when unexpected threadfall occured.
"Kidnapped someone?" he repeated, chuckling. "I do hope you mean Searched. We're in need of more candidates, certainly." He flashed the older man a smile. "We'll set them up in the candidate barracks straight away."

G'deon chuckled, "Maybe." He said, not about to boast too much to the Weyrleader, not wanting to seem... well... too much like himself around the man. He tried to be more serious about men like him after all, those who were in charge. Now just your everyday, average bronzerider, those were the sort that he found himself more then happy to tease and flirt with just to see how they would react. Normally it was with shock and a lot of sputtering. When he was told to go fish he did so, taking up a card, looked at it, and then set some of his down to show that he'd gotten a pair. It wasn't the one he was looking for but at least he'd gotten a pair he thought to himself, "No fives, sorry. Maybe you have a seven?"
When the other asked him about his scar he gave a nod, "Yeah, it's an old one. It still itches on occasion though that just might be my mind playing tricks on me." He said as he reached up to touch the mark for a moment. He then glanced in the direction that he knew Tzo was and he gave a nod, "She was hit too, the two of match far too well." He said, sounding a bit guilty about that, feeling that his pretty Tzo shouldn't have been hurt, that it should have been just him. Gving a shake of his head he turned to look at R'yn once more, taking in the markings that his leader had, before giving a nod of his head. He knew that it was a hazard of their job but it didn't mean that he still liked that Tzo was injured, not that she seemed to blame him, instead always talking about 'if she had been a bit faster mine wouldn't have been hurt'. The two of them were like minded in that way.
"Eh? Searched... huh, if that doesn't get me banished from Ista forever we can go with Searched." He said, giving a bit of a smile before he shifted in place at mention of putting Tadej up in the candidate's barracks, "Hrm, I wonder... he... ah... well he brought half of the flits in Ista with him when I stole him away from his father. You don't think that he would be a bother do you? I'd hate for him to disrupt the others." That and he wasn't sure if the boy were ready for such a thing, he seemed a little dazed about all that happened the night before after all, throwing him in with with the other candidates might be overwhelming to him. The way he fidgeted a bit showed that he was actually worried about whoever he'd taken, that it wasn't just a passing whim, "Maybe, if you get a chance in your busy schedule, you can come with me to peek in on him?" He asked of the Weyrleader in a curious manner.

R'yn took a card from the pile, and handed G'deon a seven. "Here," he said cheerfully. If G'deon had told R'yn about his worries, the younger man would have chuckled and informed the greenrider that it was fine. R'yn was a prankster himself. He had been only seventeen turns old when he had become Weyrleader. He still wasn't used to the amount of respect he received on a daily basis.
"Banished from Ista?" he echoed, shaking his head and chuckling. "Outside of murder, there's very few things someone could do to get banished," he said, looking back to his cards. "Do you have any sixes?" he asked. "Half the firelizards in Ista?" He grinned, looking up at G'deon. "Really? Well, that won't cause any trouble. Most of the candidates have firelizards or have been raised around them. I'm sure they won't mind." He paused and flashed the older man a smirk. "He wouldn't be a bother, G'deon. Lavi's a good candidatemaster. She has firelizards of her own. If the boy hasn't trained them, I'm sure she could help some." He paused, and seemed to think about it. "Well, sure. I'd love to meet him."

The greenrider gave a bit of a grin when he was handed the seven, laying the pair of them down before he glanced over at R'yn when the man repeated his words about being banished from Ista, waiting for him to say that it was a close call before he said that outside of murder only a few things would get him banished, "Hrm... well, that is good to know. If you are curious to know I didn't murder his father, though I might have socked him one when he said I and the other green riders were 'worthless queers'. I get the feeling that he might not have liked me all that much." Perhaps it had been what had spurred him on to do what he'd done when he took Tadej with him. Not to mention that the poor guy just looked so dejected and broken, his father's words having been some rather nasty ones. He was better outside of such an environment... not that it was really his choice. If anything it was that of Tadej and he'd never asked him, just dragged him along to Tzo and flew off with him and their mass of combined flits.
"Sixes?" He glanced at his hand, nodded, and handed it over. That the man could talk about such serious things while keeping a card game going was quite impressive he found himself thinking, giving a smile as he looked at what he had, thought it over then asked, "Jacks?" When R'yn questioned him about the 'half the firelizards in Ista' he gave a nod, "Not sure how the boy did it but he ended up with seven of the little buggers which seems to be what started the entire argument with his old man, seems the guy told him to get rid of them which is... well, cruel if you ask me. There is no getting rid of a firelizard." The look on his face was, for a brief flash one of anger and disgust mixed together before he shook his head, "No matter, he is no longer with that waste of flesh." He muttered to himself.
When R'yn said that most likely wouldn't mind Tadej's firelizards he gave a smile, "That's good to hear. I want him to... I don't know... smile I guess. It's weird, when he smiles now it doesn't quite reach his eyes. I don't understand it. Makes me want to learn more about him, you know?" He wondered if R'yn knew the feeling, maybe. He did want to meet Tadej after all. That might be a really, really good idea, "We should probably introduce the idea of Searching him soon. I wonder if he will be ready for the next hatching, all the others have gotten so many lessons by now. Well, I suppose he can always come with me to check it out, get a feel for the process and then go to the next one. What do you think, Weyrleader?" It wasn't his job to pick, not at all, but he did have a good feel for people in general. Likely because he spent a lot of time with different people, often flirting it up with them, or even in bed with them, so emotional things he was good at... even if his own got away with his sometimes.

"I would have hit him too," R'yn said, shaking his head. He was never much on fighting, but when someone took an old bias and twisted it... He couldn't stand it. He'd been Weyrbred, and so taught to accept all types. "Greenriders are just as important as bronzeriders. Perhaps even more so. Greens are the fastest, most agile. They destroy the most Thread. Without greens in our Wings, we'd fail."
He took the six, pairing it with his and grinned. "No jacks," he said. "Go fish." He listened to G'deon, before smirking. "Seven firelizards!" he said. "I can imagine why the old man was upset, but to instruct the boy to get rid of them..." He shook his head, frowning slightly. "Once Impressed--" He glanced over at his sleeping gold, flashing her a warm smile. "If there was any way to get rid of them, I would have found it. I Impressed her when I was a Weyrbrat. I was throughly disgusted that she was a girl." R'yn had been seven at the time.
"Do you have an Ace?" he asked. "He'll be ready, G'deon. You don't need lessons to Impress. There's been plenty of stands Impressions." He gave the man a reassuring smile. "But if you feel that's a better plan, we can go through with that." He nodded. "If you feel he'd be more comfortable that way."

From where she was standing Tzo seem to give a sort of purring sound, as if she were agreeing with all the nice things that the Weyrleader was saying about Greens. Then again being that she was green, and G'deon was her rider, the two of the were terribly biased when it came to their mutual love of Greens. G'deon gave her a momentary glance before he gave a bit of a chuckle, "She is a biased thing, isn't she? Though I suppose she learns from the best." He loved Tzo, she was the most important thing to him, as such he had a great love for her and any other green and green rider about. Unlike Tzo though he also had an unending love of bronzeriders as well... but that was mostly due to his love of flirting with such men and their wonderful reactions. Had R'yn been anyone else then who he was he might have flirted it up a bit with him as well. Best not to flirt with him though, if he didn't toss him out on his ear he'd have the Weyrwoman to worry about and he really didn't want to end up skinned alive by a jealous woman.
When told to go fish G'deon nodded and did so, digging around, pulled out a card, then gave a whistle as he set down another pair, pleased that he was actually able to pull a Jack out of the pile when he'd wanted one of them, "I know that firelizards can be a bit of a pain at times, they are quite the excitable little things, but 'getting rid' of them is a rather drastic sort of order." He said, clenching a hand as though he were wanting to give that man another punch in the face... then shook his head, loosened his hand, and reached up so that he could pet Rise instead. The lazy brown barely reacted though, not that G'deon was expecting it. It had always been Skye who was the one that reacted quickly. When R'yn mentioned his firelizard he looked over to where she was sleeping, giving a chuckle, "Is that so? I know that feeling, I am running from females all the time." He said in a joking manner.
G'deon handed over the ace before chewing lightly on his lip, "He might be ready, might not be." He said, and then added, "I think maybe though, so long as it's alright with you of course, that he is given time. I did sort of shake up his world rather thoroughly. I'd feel a little bad if he was suddenly plucked out of his old life and thrown onto the sands with little transition. His uncertainty wouldn't really find him a partner. Given time though maybe he will warm up to the idea... well so long as he carrying him off doesn't sour his feelings toward riders." He really hoped that it wouldn't be the case, he hadn't really meant anything by what he'd done, just felt the need to save the kid, "Ahh, any queens other then your flit?" He asked, giving a grin.

"I prefer chasing females myself," R'yn said with a grin. "When I was a Weyrbrat, I used to run from them." He smirked and reached to stroke Zara's cheek. "Now I find their company desirable. I think that changed about the time I hit seven turns. Instead of running from them, I was running after them."
"Why don't you bring him to the Hatching and see how that goes?" R'yn suggested with a shrug. "He could watch, see how the other candidates react to Impression--of course..." The man hesitated, handing G'deon a queen in order to fill the silence. "Of course, if his dragon happens to hatch, it will find him. I'd prefer for him to be on the sands--but if you feel he'd be more comfortable in the stands with you, that's fine too."
Another pause, and then R'yn grinned. "Got any kings?"

"Do you now? Alright, then here is a deal for you. You can have all the ladies you want and I will chase after all the gentlemen." He said in a joking manner, seeing as completely fair to divvy things up this way since it was obvious that R'yn, as a bronzerider and their Weyrleader, was far from being G'deon's type. Still, if he were the latter thing he would be more then tempted to flirt it up with him, enjoying nothing more then seeing a bronzerider sputter as he did so.
When the other mentioned bringing him to the Hatching, to allow him to watch and see how the others did, he gave a nod of his head, "It would be a good idea, a nice introduction to his new life." He said, giving a smile. The boy was a little dazed and confused now but he was sure by the time the Hatching came about he would likely he over his initial shock over what had happened to him. Not to mention that he would have been told by then that he was officially 'Searched' and a part of this world now. It would be good for him. He could only hope that his mass of flits would behave. When R'yn mentioned that 'if Tadej's dragon hatched that it would find him' he couldn't help but to smile and nod, "Yeah, if his is amongst the clutch it will make itself known to him." And in a manner that nobody would be able to deny, especially that horrible p***k of a father of his...
Giving a shake of his head to clear that line of thought he looked down at his cards for a moment then gave a bit of a grin, "Kings? Of course, I always have all the kings." He said in a joking manner before tapping the pair that he'd already made, "But I am afraid they were already paired off, maybe you can fish one up to go with your lonely king." He said, obviously enjoying himself at the moment despite coming for rather serious reasons. He was glad he had though given that before now he hadn't really spent a ton of time in the presence of the Weyrleader.

R'yn rose an eyebrow before smirking. "I only want one woman, if it's all the same to you. And I already have her," he flashed G'deon a winning smile. "But you can have the gentlemen--" he winked at the man, clearly unbothered by his preferences. After all, he had been raised at the Weyr; taught to be accepting of all. He gave a smile and a nod. "Right," he said. "When I was a candidate, it wasn't uncommon to introduce candidates to Weyrlife that way. Our former Weyrleader, he was a candidate for two turns before he Impressed. He saw a fair few. I think that's what helped him relate to candidates so well when became Weyrleader." He gave the man another smile. "It might help your candidate, hm? Watching one?"
R'yn himself had seen a number of hatchings before he'd even been old enough to be a candidate. He took a card from the pile, frowning slightly when he noticed it was a two, rather than a king. "Your turn," he said. "Anyway, I'd like to meet your candidate sometime. I don't want to overwhelm him, though."
