Skyfyre soared over the grounds hunting for his cousins. They were playing an areal hide and seek. It was his job to practice finding azrein on the ground while they had to practice hiding from azrein in the air. Far below he saw a flash of gold. That would be Lan. Clever devil was using the trees for cover. However he wasn’t perfect at it otherwise Sky wouldn’t have seen him at all. Sky swooped into a dive and skimmed over the treetops that Lan was underneath. “Tag,” he called and giggled as Lan swore. On his way up he spotted Kai’s big orange butt protruding from under the curve of of a huge tree root. “Classy,” he muttered before coasting over and tapping his older cousin on the butt. “Tag.” He said again. Sighing he floated himself back up to the proper altitude and let those down below reorder themselves into new positions. So far it was Sky: 2 , Cousins: 0. The sun shone off something bright and light colored not far off. It looked like another azrein and as Sky flew closer it apeared to be another stallion. Sky hadn’t seen another azrein in the air before. It fascinated him. “Ahoy there.” He called out in greeting.

He was doing his daily fly until he heard the bickerings of other pegasi... playing? He rolled his eyes continuing the flight until one had greeted himself. What now? Just simply stop his flight to converse? That seemed alright for now since he was about two hours ahead of his schedule.
"Why, hello." he called back, approaching him. It must have felt awkward for him not to know who he was speaking to. Least he was a pegasi and they could trust one another. "Are the others.." his ears twitched back at the previous playful calls, "...your family?"

"Cousins yes. They are stuck on the ground due to their lack of wings. Poor things. It is ever much nicer up here in the wind. My name is Skyfyre Darkrain. I hope your flight is going as well as mine."
Skyfyre thought he sensed a touch of disdain in this bright light colored stallion. He wondered why.

He blinked. Cousins not having wings? All of a sudden, Regalia felt as if his wings too fell off. What a disturbing moment. Flapping harder to remain the elevation that he was, he nodded. "Yes, today's splendid. I'm just patrolling the skies of any sign of shiny things like I always do."
He couldn't take it anymore. "So you're saying that you're... not.. a purebred?"

"Shiney things? Oh uh um my mother was a pure breed but my father was not a pegasai no. In fact my brother did not inherit wings at all. one of my half sisters did though. Genetics are so fickle are they not. What kind of shiney things were you talking about?"

"Oh you know,... just anything that shines through those trees down there. Kind of like treasure." he wondered if he should tell this halfblood anything else, but then again, he was being awfully truthful to him. Snorting he spoke before Skyfyre could reply. "Anything that would bring me forth to the King's castle.. You have heard of the King, right?"

"The leader of our herd was bonded to the King's Grand Duke so yah I would say we have heard of him." Sky snorted. "How would a shiney get you to the King? Why don't you just go visit him yourself?"

So this stallion seemed to already know about the king, huh? In a way, Regalia felt like a loser for not even having any connections. He coughed. "Me visit him? I think that it should be him to visit me instead. I mean, a king's to know his fellow subjects, and I don't want to tire out my wings to make my flight there."

"Hes not far now. You could walk even. I think he used to walk among us. Perhaps more in the Greater Herd and not our branch of Equi'Amiticia. He has been rather busy of late, but is always welcoming of Azrein visitors. I think we are better received then humans are."

"Equi'Amiticia?" he asked wondering where that place was. "Ohhh... my bad. Are you part of that herd?" He felt stupid not even remembering that it was actually a herd that Skyfyre was speaking of.

"Yes, in fact I am nephew to the herd leader. We have grown rather large in size what with a few new members and many foals." Skyfyre circled around the bright proud creature and hovered again. The bright light seemed to reflect off of Regalia whereas it seemed to absorb into his own coat.

He smiled, not minding being circled much. He was no enemy anyways, and was kin to a herd leader! Himself? Like nothing, but Skyfyre wouldn't know unless he had already figured that out. "Hmm.. maybe would this uncle of your's be willing to consider me into joining the herd?" he blurted, not really noticing what he had just requested. Losing his freedom? It was probably worth it.

"Of course, we are very open. As long as you don't like hurting humans on sight you could probably join." Hellfyre smiled. "It would be nice to have another arial scout." Sky did a quick barrel roll. He loved those although too many in a row made him quite dizzy.

To follow the little show, he made a few loop-dee-loops in the air. Finally he wouldn't have to live alone with just Karitoriki... but what if he ever returned home? They were like best friends, after all. "I don't mind the humans as long as they leave me alone." he responded. 'So that I don't feel lost in your heard, may I invite a friend of mine to stay with us if he wishes?"
