My word, has it come round again? Oh yes, I remember; the Whovians were all in a twist about it; because they campaigned to get David Tennet to carry the torch, as the tenth Doctor carried the torch in the 2012 Olympics in an episode of Dr. Who. And then Moffat, of all people (maybe because the entire writing staff already knew that the fans hate him, so they thought if they made him say it no one else would get the blame) announced that he was pleased to say that the campaign worked... and that Matt Smith would carry the torch.
