It had been a while since Warwick stepped foot in Oldcastle, but he thought it wasn't all that greatly changed; busier than the country towns where he usually preferred to set up, people in the city were more likely to pass him by, more likely to be critical, but still more that willing to have a good laugh at his expense. He'd set up on a flat patch in a low-traffic area, brightly-painted cart a backdrop to his antics, and was currently indulging in more of his silly tricks than the ones he deemed 'impressive' in his head.
"Anything ye got, sweetheart, an' just toss it in there. I promise you'll get it back" He grinned at the girl -- nine or ten, maybe, and shy, it seemed -- and at his coaxing she finally stepped forward to gently lob her toy horse into the slowly-growing collection of belongings Warwick kept in the air before him in a lazy juggle.
He almost dropped it; too low, he went off-balance, wobbled and swayed and near lost the whole lot of it. Or so it seemed. But someone watching with a clever eye, someone who knew how to juggle, would most likely recognize it as an exaggeration.
"More takers? Anyone? Come on, this is too easy..." Jovial, he winked at the now-wide-eyed girl and took a lazy bite out of a circling apple before returning it to the circuit.

Oldcastle was as close a home for Eoin that he'd ever have. That wasn't for any sentimental reasons or such things like that, there was something else. The closeness of the Wardwood perhaps? Maybe he'd never know but it was still home. Besides, out of all the places he had tried this was were he felt he could make the most to live on. Well for his current profession.
Today though he'd realized he was running low on supplies and money. Both which were things he needed.
This meant he needed to work. Eoin decided to try his luck at one of his few places he frequented. He eventually came to the spot only to find another there. Not just any other, but another juggler.
Normally he'd just leave and setup shop another place but not today. He watched for a few moments. He caught that the other obviously knew what he was doing from some of the well placed exaggerations of almost dropping items. Interesting. Interesting someone was in his spot doing a similar trade.
Eoin reached into one of his pockets and produced two balls the size of his palm. "Catch." With one quick movement he tossed both at the juggler.

It wasn't much time for Warwick to spy the movement out of the corner of his eye, wasn't much time to rearrange everything else in his grasp so that it was airborne as the two juggling balls arced their way into his grasp. Eoin could get the distinctive pleasure of seeing blue eyes widen and then narrow, of catching the train of thought behind Warwick's movements, before he acted.
Everything went up into the air all at once into a mess of disorganized chaos, and as he caught the two balls out of the air and them into the juggling, the rest of it rained down around him in a mess, bouncing off of shoulders and head, tinking gently to the ground at his feet.
He swayed as a knife, the only weapon in the mix, landed point-first beside him, pausing briefly to spin one juggling ball on the tip of his finger and blink innocently at the crowd. "...I said anything could go in, didn't promise it'd stay in, did I?"
And nothing was damaged; he carefully stooped, balls back in motion, to catch the girl's horse on a toe and toss it back up into the mix. Disappointment would certainly tinge the crowd -- that hadn't been what they'd expected, he'd dropped it all -- but hopefully it'd also be tempered with a heathy amount of amusement. He raised his eyebrows at Eoin.
"Where'd ye get these?"

Eoin watched every move of Warwick with amused interest. He didn't show it much on his face, the look on his face looked more like he was deep in thought reading a book. This other was indeed skilled, able to arrange what he was already juggling to add to the fray. The corner of his mouth curled into a slight grin.
Ah, and there was the difference between them, I'd never let those items drop like that. He winced slightly watching things hit the ground.
A decent recovery was made though, he could have done much worse. Warwick didn't manage to drop all of the items so he had that. Eoin took a few steps closer to the other.
"They are mine. I'm an entertainer of sorts too." As he spoke he produced another set of juggling balls. It almost seemed as though he had an unending source of them.

It was easy, just watching someone work, to say 'I never would have dropped those'. Much harder in reality. Over a dozen objects sat at Warwick's feet, and as he considered Eoin across the way — smiling, a bright flash of teeth, his eyes more reserved — he kicked up one of the little prizes and launched it back into the fray, hardly pausing to even think about it.
"Kinda mean for an entertainer." It was teasing, though, light, it didn't have the bite it could have had. It wasn't hurt, or angry. Just amused. He shot a look to the rest of the crowd, some of them still sulking, and then launched another toy up into his circling hands. The knives would have to stay where they were.
"Mabbe ye should get up here and help me get this all back in the air." It wasn't exactly a question, and wasn't exactly a request. It came with a twitch of a smile.

Eoin shrugged. Was it mean to reply when someone asked for it? Okay yes he did toss two items when Warwick only was expecting just a single item. He did have many items up in there air, so yes it was natural to drop something. He grinned. "Just wanted to test you." Partially true.
Someone was in his spot so he wanted to make sure they were at least worthy. Okay it wasn't his spot per say, you can't claim something like that.
"Alright then, I think I will." Eoin made his way through the crowd. He took his cloak off and set it off to the side on the ground. Bending over he picked up four of the items that had fallen on the ground. Taking a few steps back he launched the items into the air, easily keeping them up. He stayed silent for a moment. "Take some of these off my hands while I retrieve the rest." Eoin made a small tossing motion, miming he'd tossing them over as they juggled.

One at a time, Warwick could even manage them — and easily so. Even two at a time, once he was ready, he'd snatch the items out of the air and work them up into a fresh pattern. And this, of course, would likely get them a round of clapping, pleased watchers, maybe some coins dropped in the hat. This redeemed dropping some things.
"Not bad, hey?" He raised his eyebrows, working carefully into an even pattern, and once things had stabilized, he reached for the apple to take another bite, speaking around it. "Where'd you come from?"

Eoin watched Warwick as he worked on his juggling as well. He needed a few moments to get a pattern going, stable. When the other juggler seemed ready, he tossed another object over, and then another. Not quite like earlier which caused the items to fall but just enough for the crowd to respond with maybe some 'oos' and 'ahs'.
He picked up the last of the items from the ground, not the knives though, no he wanted to get a good pattern going before dealing with them. "Could say the same for you." He grinned slightly. "Came from here, and there. Mostly here though. What about yourself, haven't seen you around much."

"I ain't been in the city fer a year or so." It was muffled, mumbled around a mouthful of apple, his eyebrows raised. It probably would get a laugh from the crowd, it was so near unintelligible. He swallowed and smiled, attention tossed out to the watching strangers, and flipped a little toy up into the air, over and on end.
"Usually prefer the country." This was, Warwick thought, rapidly becoming His Line.

He'd been able to make most of the other's mumble out, only since he was standing close. That would explain why he hadn't noticed the other juggler before. Eoin he traveled some too but had spent his most recent time in the city. He nodded. "Country is nice, I prefer the city myself." More money to make here.
Eoin tossed a few items up in the air, appearing that he may almost drop them, bent to the side a little and returned them to the juggle. He only was juggling three items himself. "Going to keep all of those to yourself or you want to share any."

"Mmm, thinkin' we should move toward th'grand finale, hey?" He raised his eyebrows, rolled his shoulders, and then set to it -- tossing items carefully to Eoin, one at a time, but rapid fire. Warwick was testing as much as he'd been testing, just with more care; moving quickly and carefully, neat arcs that should allow Eoin to enter the pattern. Often, jugglers struggled with this, unable to account for what another person might do. In contrast, Warwick relaxed into it. Like settling into something familiar. Perhaps because he was.
"Speed it up much as ye can. I c'n keep up." He raised his eyebrows, and would follow Eoin's lead willingly enough, the pair of them catching and turning and tossing and hopefully getting applause from the audience.
Applause and more.
