Candace was fretting. She was worried. Things had all been on scheduling and going according to plan before that minipet fiasco. She had known when Mitsu's group would be going to the Haunted House, she had planned on recruiting her Suns, and had everything decided. But then they all used too much fear being goddamn minipets and everyone got sick. Did the students get sick? Had her group already checked for Derykion but to no avail? <********>! Candace was going to be so pissed if she did all of that work and preparation just to miss her best ******** opportunity. She sat on her couch drinking a warm cup of tea, some of what was left of Dwight's surprisingly generous attentions the past few days. She'd have to thank him for taking care of her and the other trainees while they were sick. But the tea wasn't doing much for her nerves, it barely helped. Maybe cocoa? No, she'd save the cocoa for later. Her leg bounced with agitation as she stared down at her phone, eyes narrowed. She couldn't call it off. She'd worked too hard. She couldn't just give up. But what if they went, waited hours and hours, and then Mitsu and her group didn't show ******** hell.
Her leg bounced faster as she whined quietly and finished her tea, setting the cup down on the coffee table as she stood up and began to pace with her hands in her hair. She made an unhappy sound. When were they going again..?
Days ago! But we all got sick! Candace ruffled her hair. Atropos made a soft cooing sound.
Well, I'm sure the others didn't go unaffected by being minipets. It's quite a change...minipets aren't..quite the same? It is possible they, too, were delayed. Candace stopped pacing. Really? Call them, my dearest~.
But..
You can lure her out again if it takes too long. There's still time.
...Fine. She'd trust Atropos. Sighing, Candace nodded and flopped down on the couch again. She stretched out, grabbing her phone to scroll through for a few names. There were plenty of Suns but she only needed three. Three she could trust to get the job done, three effective Suns.
Bilious Text to Jerry:Hey! How're you feeling? Are you busy? I need your help with something if you're able. Come see me? I'm room 214 now.
Prolixity Text to Jordan:You feeling okay? I need your help with something. Come see me if you're up for it! Room 214.
iloveyouDIE Text to Bix:I need your bow. And you, I guess. =D If you're up for it can you come see me? I'm in room 214!
Candace paused. Wait. Room...214..what room was Bi--oh. Oops. Had the noise of the movie the other night kept him up? It'd been loud..
iloveyouDIE Text to Bix:...right above you. Yes. Sorry for any noise the last couple days...
Texts sent, Candace tossed the phone aside onto the coffee table again and tried to relax. It didn't work. She'd lead a mission before! She had! A couple of them! But...never one like this. A small investigation of a plane, under the supervision of Aria and H, bringing Madison and Gale to Halloween...those were easy. They didn't require too much coordination. She was nervous. She couldn't relax. "Uuuugh...do you think I can do this, Atropos?" Candace groaned, the heels of her hands pressed against her forehead.
Of course I do. Biased or not, you'll do fine. She sighed.
"But there's still so much to do.."
You can worry about that after you speak to the Suns. You stress yourself out too much. Candace chuckled, nodding and turning over onto her side.
"It's what I do~." And now to wait...

Bix was finally operational. He'd caught up on most of his sleep and been training for at least a day. The cold had caught him off guard, as with most of the hunter dorms, and he was finally eager to get out and do something. Candace's texts were welcome. Eight OMW. Didn't notice. No prob. Truth was that Bix had been either sleeping, doped up on medicine, or just not home. He didn't know which of the last 'couple days' she was talking about but being as noise apologies were common place around here, he was glad he missed it. When Bix came knocking it his cold recovery was a bit more obvious than with some of the others. His nose was red and chapped despite the fact that he seemed pretty healthy. A lingering sniffle here and there was the only other tell about his flu. "Knock knock.." He tapped on the door with an eager look, not yet having seen any of his friend's larger digs besides Gale's house.

Jerry had passed out on his new couch, still a bit winded from the sickness but doing better than others it would seem. He snorted at the text. Ooooh Candace had a room on the second floor as well now, didn't she? It didn't take him long to tidy up (His own bathroom oh snap!) and hurry down the hall, humming faintly to himself and debating coffee when he spotted Bix already there, "Oh, hey! Feeling better? Did Candace text you too?" Was she moving in more furniture? Definitely smart to ask for help. He had learned the hard way about moving on his own.

"Mmm hmm.." Bix nodded, both to feeling better and the text. "Congrats on the new coat.. and new place." Bix wasn't sure if he was close to promotion or not. Perhaps pissing Caelius off hadn't really been in his best interest back when he had his important decision to make. His inner selfish-self-driven voice was whining that Jerry got promoted before him.
"Know what this is about?"

Jerry glanced down as Bix mentioned the coat, his face flushing a bit, "I suppose Simon thought it was a faster way to kill me off, ahahahah, thank you. Hmm? Candace's text? I assumed she needed help moving!" He had hoped Bix would have known more, but she herself would clarify soon enough, right?

Eight Congratulations. I'll be there shortly. When Jordan arrived, he looked tired and pale, with dark circles under his eyes, but he'd shaken the last bits of the flu and looked more at peace with himself than he had for some time. "Hey," he greeted Jerry and Bix. "Candace ask you guys for help too? You know what's up?"

"No clue.." Bix nodded to Jordan. "We were just wondering. How are you? No offense, but you look like s**t." Bix laughed, clearly meaning well by the comment but he couldn't hold it in.

"None taken, I know I do," Jordan answered with a small smile. "I'm fine, though. Just the aftereffects, I look worse than I feel."

The first text got her excited. There was one. Who was next? How long would it take for them to get here? Oh, she should make more tea. For them. Yes. She'd never felt this anxious before. Was it maybe also excitement? She had to get up and do something though, she couldn't just lay around waiting. She was waiting for the water to boil in the kettle when she heard the first knock, jumping a bit. Eh? Why didn't they just enter? She blinked. They...didn't come in..? She poked her head out from in the kitchen, hearing their voices outside. They were still--ugh. Men. Candace rolled her eyes, returning to her kitchen to first finish the tea and set the cups on the coffee table. She then walked to her door, humming cheerfully and opening it with an amused smile. "I keep it unlocked, you know~." She told the three men with a chuckle, stepping aside and gesturing into the room. "Come on in. I made some tea if you guys want it." It was the last of the tea but that was okay. She'd just get more later if she needed to. It was nice to have a kitchen for the moment...it'd be nicer to have a larger closet. Unlike when Madison and Gale had visited her the room did have a few more of those more 'Candace' touches. Nothing major just yet, she hadn't had time to do any real shopping. There were purple throw pillows on the couch, a rug, a few more picture frames on the book shelf. But for the most part the room still needed her touch. When she had time. And money. Candace paused a moment, her gaze set on Jerry...and his coat. Her eyes widened and she gasped. "Oh my god Jerry!" She clapped her hands together with excitement. "Congratulations! I had no idea! I'm so proud!" She really was. It also made her plan so much easier. Two Hunters, two intermediate trainees. This was going to go just fine. Everything would be okay. Everything would be fine. She felt much better about this now. So much better. "I'm so glad you guys are here. I need your help with capturing a girl on the other side that I've been working on. You're the best Suns I know so I figured if I get you guys to come along getting her here will be absolutely no problem."

Did she say 'best sun hunters she knew'?
Bix is really easy. He may have even puffed his chest a little bit.
"Sounds good!" What.. really.. that easy?
Bix wasn't really a difficult sell at all. Since Candace was flinging compliments and deliberately went out of her way to call Sun Hunters, he figured they were going to be shooting stuff.
Already sounds like a plan.

Jerry's face went red at Candace's sudden explosion of congratulations. He tucked his hands into his new coat pockets, vanishing a moment behind his unruly bangs, "Ah... Th-thanks! Yeah ah... I was... ahahhaa... expecting that evening to um. Go a bit Ol' Yeller with Simon if you know what I mean but... WELL. Still alive! Killed a whole swarm of... er... giant bugs. In the dark," He babbled as though it was nothing. "So um. Kidnapping?" He wasn't sure what he felt about that, "You know of a willing weapon candidate?"

Candace blinked, looking surprised by Bix's immediate agreement to helping her with no questions asked. Just like that? That was really easy. Well, she had him on board easy. She was pretty glad for that. Less work on her end, right? Though at Jerry's question she visibly paused, giving a faint chuckle and scratching at her cheek.
"Ah..yes...willing." She cleared her throat. "Aboooout thaaaat...define..willing, exactly?" Candace flashed Jerry a sheepish grin.

"Ah! No! Honey, sweetheart, baby, Jerrbear. It's...it's okay! Really! Let me explain, okay?" Candace clapped her hands together just under her chin. No scowling! No! Bad! Gale and Madison had been so ready to help her. "See, long story short...she's the girlfriend of the guy who killed Stacey! And..so...it's..kind of personal. Not that I held any kind of feeling toward Stacey but a one-eyed teenage boy killed a hunter. An assistant. We can't just let him continue on without taking something from him." She had Bix, she wasn't sure about Jordan yet, but Jerry seemed to be the one she needed to convince.
"I've had my eye on her for months."

"I'm not that rude," Jordan said with a faint smile. He followed the others inside, listening thoughtfully to what Candace had to say. A weapons candidate, huh?
"You called three Suns. I'm guessing you don't expect her to come along easily," he mused. "But that still seems like overkill to catch one teenaged freak. Are you expecting her to have backup?"
