Every good gaming discussion should have a Legend of Zelda thread. At least, I think so. Zelda happens to be one of my all-time favorite games, besides Tales of Symphonia.
I hope that we (if there is a we) can have intelligent conversation about LoZ, such as: What do you think of the new Twilight Princess? Which is your favorite game? What did you think of cell-shading? And various other questions. Or, as in (almost) any other thread, you can be random. It's up to you.

TP looks awesome.
...I Reserved my copy for it at Best Buy about a month or two before when it was still Sappose to come out in September. It makes me sad. I'd have to say OoT was my favorite so far -- Mainly because it was the first one I actually played ( I just watched someone else play the others, I was young)

Ran-Chan's favorite is LTTP. I grew up on that game. I can beat it with no help in 5 hours. I even have a Japanese emulator of it, and DAMN I love it. It's my favorite game of all time. Didn't you know that?!
My brother's favorite is either Majora's Mask or Link's Awakening. MM is the bane of my existance, and LA is my other near and dear close to my heart game.
My dad likes LTTP and Zelda 1. Zelda 1 is something I like to think of very fondly. Really. I love it. xd

I can truly say I've never NOT liked a Zelda game. As many of you probably know, I am a Nintendo otaku all around. Even if a Zelda game takes a new direction, I still end up liking it after playing it for awhile. I would have to say Zelda 1, LTTP, OoT, and WW are some of my faves. Wind Waker is especially fun for me because I not only play the game, I admire it like a work of art. Many people critcized it's cel-shaded look, but I think it gives the game a certain artistic flair. Oops redface redface ...I went off on another tangent, didn't I? Sorry guys...

It was about Zelda and this is a Zelda thread. Who cares? I have WW, and it's a wonderful game. I mean, if I didn't like cel-shading, then I wouldn't have liked ToS, now would I?! Nooo! I think Cel-Shading is beautiful if done correctly, and it seems like the only people who can pull it all together is Nintendo.

whee True, true. I also happen to be an anime freak, so, for the most part, I really like cell shading. I can't understand why someone would go so far as to not play a game just because they don't like the graphics as much.
Another weird thing: The very first fanfiction I ever wrote was for Legend of Zelda. In fourth grade, they forced us to write twelve creative writing stories every month, to "prepare us for the writing assesments." Whatever. I wrote about a third of my stories about Legend of Zelda, and it practically introduced me into world of fanfic writing. I still have them somewhere, but they suck to much to take the trouble to type them. I was in fourth grade, go figure.

In the 4th grade, I wrote a MarySue-esqe story about what would happen if I was Zelda's sister. My dad thought it was really funny because I made him king o' Hyrule and Link ended up being a donut snarfing fiend... I was in 4th garde... yeah...

They think that just because the graphics are different, that the whole game is different.

Games end up going to the urban violence department to people who care about nothing but graphics, while we, the decent gamers that love the time and dedication put into every aspect of a game (HINTING MOSTLY STORY AND MUSIC!! WINK WINK HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE!!) don't matter to the industry anymore, seems like. Except to Nintendo. ^_^

That's why I luffle Nintendo and Legend of Zelda. I'm not even going to go into all the t-shirts, stickers, and paraphenalia I have. Including a smarties dispenser. whee Woot, obsessed.
But yeah, Nintendo usually does and amazing job with the storylines, music, etc. But I still love the graphics on Twilight Princess.
