The little village had smoke rising up into the cold air, and had she not been in layers, Lan might have thought it a bit cold. Hunters they had been warned against, though Lan held not a shred of caring. Her task was more of pleasure than business. After the last.. fiasco with the whole... minipet.. thing, she needed an outlet, and what a better outlet than putting a village full of humans in their place? Purring as she tied up her hair, she looked at The one who'd joined her. Another conquest and death. How fitting. They did not need to make war or cause a famine, only dominate and dispose of.
Smiling she took a second to check her headdress. "It's such a lovely night for a harvest, don't you agree Lifen? Oh, and thank you for joining us, Soren. It's nice to see you so well. A guardian is a welcomed ally, especially with all the talk of.. those pests wandering about."

It was decided, Lifen did terribly at cold.
Allowing a little shiver travel down her spine, she curled up in the fluffy, pelt lined coat that she had procured for this night out, she blessed the fates that someone had the bright idea of packing one . . . and well, yes.
Hearing the soft voice of Lan, she turned to her, mis-matched eyes looking between her, and their tall partner of the night, Soren, before giving her a soft smile, trying to dispel the cold around them. "It is much more entertaining when one has companions." She stated to the noble, looking down at the town. It would be nice to just . . . let loose for once, in a long time.

There was nothing like a nice, brisk venture into the human world to make him feel alert and ready to go. He wore nothing special, his typical outfit with its bits of fur lining and his pelt securely fastened to lay across his back, and as a cool breeze blew over him it actually felt rather nice.
What was unusual about this journey was his company. If he had been told a year ago that he would find himself on an adventure with two ladies from Conquest, he would have struggled to believe them. Now he was ready to go, knowing that Lifen could take care of herself and curious to see Lan in action as well. "Thanks," he said gruffly, eyes scanning the village below. For inviting him was what he meant, so he too could join in on the fun. He took a step toward the village and then paused, a slight smile working its way onto his face as he thought about what they were about to do. "Ladies first?"

How curious it might have looked to outsiders, the youngest and smallest leading the elders. But to Lan, that was her rightful place. She did not think lesser of Lifen or Soren, only that she was above them, her blood giving her the position others could nope hope to obtain.
This was simply, where she belonged, (or thought she did to any effect).
"Thank your Soren. And indeed Lifen! Not to mention with hunters around, we'll need to just be more aware. They need to be put in their place after all." She didn't summon her bow, but looking down the path to the village she made her way down. It was an undemanding walk, and soon, the light clatter of stone on lighted padded feet could faintly be heard. A quick look off the path, and a small girl, perhaps five or size, jumping, trying to reach what looked to be a doll stuck in a high branch.
"Poor little lamb, all alone." A qucick summon and she shot an arrow into the plush, the child freezing. A slow turn, and Lan let her fear flow. The headdress catching aflame, the gem beginning too ooze blood, the face of the child reflected in the false liquid. Lan smiled as she felt the child's FEAR rise up. A taste and Lan grinned before the child fled, toy forgotten.
"So skittish, yet oh so delicious."

"I am certain if we stay together it will be easier to Fear-Harvest. Without hunter issues." She offered up, looking down at the young leader, offering her up a soft smile through the furs of her collar. She had all faith in Lan - she knew that the young noblewoman had spent her life being trained proper, expected to show strength in times like this . . . (while hoping to never have to be thrusted in to times like this. She felt for the girl.)
Following her clan-mate almost silently, she broke off when they came upon the split, seeking out her first victim. It came quickly, in the sight of a young human boy, left behind by an accomplice running from some kind of merrymaking, unaware of the danger of being alone. Taking sure strides behind him, she hummed a dark tune, one that she had loved since a child, her voice eerie, like the edge of a dream, catching his attention.
But, he wouldn't see the beauty of the Artisan that others would, it would be replaced by something like a wraith - a skeletal woman with wild hair and eyes that had held a mis-matched glow. There became a fuzziness arond her as she walked towrds him, an impending doom snapping at the air. She felt like a terrifying mirage, and saw the whites of his eyes as he attempted an escape, which seperated her from him, but only by a few steps every time, too stupified to realize he was running in a straight line.
She revelled in the fear and the pursuit for a moment, bow ready at her side, trying to lure the child closer with her song, before realizing that she was starting to stray too far from her partners, and, with one swift decision, she allowed him to grace a small hill, losing sight.
He would remember her for years, and the flush of fear that he left behind was warm, comforting.

Both mares sought out their victims, prety really, small little humans that left behind a sweet caress of Fear in the air, It was almost intoxicating, though he knew it should not have been. This, this was natural. That they had been deprived of it for any amount of time was unforgivable. The two Conquest horsewomen had gone for children, and it was that sweet Fear that he sought out as well. He broke off from them, silently gliding in a way that should have been unnerving for one so large. A little ghoul was outside, for some reason away from the safety and security of her family. Oh, there. Chasing some little pet, a puppy, and giggling as the awkward thing scampered away from her. Perfect. The Death Horseman, for that was what he was, allowed his fear to overtake him. Red eyes seeming to glow, body cloaked, blurred so that it was easy to see his size but impossible to make out details, faint, ghostly wisps that marked him as Death giving him just enough illumination to make him stand out to the scareling. As he approached he let out a low, dry sort of laugh, watching as the the two creatures were paralyzed in Fear. Oh how easy it would be to kill her, to grant her Death, but young ones like this could produce Fear for a long time. No, it was worth it to save her. Her pet though...he reached out with a massive paw, a faint, ghostly glow around his gauntlet and let the claws pierce the little creature, feeling it wriggle out the last of its life as her Fear flooded over him and she began screaming, petrified as he laughed again before she turned and ran, tripping and scrambling in her haste to get away. He took the puppy with him (not because he wanted it but because the absence of the body would probably terrify her more in the long run) and rejoined the mares. "Their scarelings are generous."+2 Fear iStoleYurVamps Wtf all of the kids XD! Our Horsemen are epic

The FEAR filling the air was rich and sweet, the silent screams of the children a ghostly to the horsewoman's ears. Not all music could be heard from lips. The thundering beat of a heart. The frantic run to false safety. The tears falling to the earth as they fled. A type of unsung sound.
"This is a good day for a death don't you think?"
She giggled lightly at that, looking at the horseman with the dead hound in hand. "Their little lambs are more than generous, but I must admit, I do miss the lairs. It's been a long time since I've been able to play with a life." She spoke it casually, thinking back to when she had been told to extort information from the humans they had captured.
A child can running in their direction of slightly older look and fair hair. "How cute, it's come for it's friends." Strand of hair plucked, she sent it on the wind, wrapping around the boy's neck. To the horsemen, she would look to be playing with a puppet, but to the boy it would be golden hands pulling a wire tight around his neck.
A light choke, the taste of terror, and she let him go, the child frantically running from the trio.
"So generous."

Taking a few steps closer back to the little group, she caught the sound of another child, not too far away. Raising her eyebrows, she started to work through the strange town, shoes crunching through the snow as the squeals and laughter of a small group of children playing tag started to filter in.
She was starting to think all the people living in this town were children - and it was starting to bother her. Where were the adults, coveting their children from the spooks and scares of the evening? Shaking the thought, she watched for a few moments, bow at the ready while she waited to see if they would go their seperate ways - it was easier to stalk one than try to go for the whole group. It would be too much, too soon.
After about 10 minutes, she gave up - it was taking too long, and she didn't want to get lost. . . Taking a few steps away, she made sure she wasn't being stalked, before trying to walk back to where the other two were.

Her talk of the lairs took him back, and he nodded in acknowledgement. But there was little to do about that now. The only thing that they could really do was gather more Fear, rebuild. Try to build a life maybe not as good as it had been, or possibly better. Whatever they did they needed Fear. He glided off to find his next victim.
It was the Death clansman that found the first adults in the village. And it was obvious why they were not watching the scarelings, they were too busy fawning over one another. For just a moment he was...actually jealous. And that angered him more than anything else possibly could have. His Fear, newly boistered by the little ghoul, rose eagerly, giving him a form visible to humans, the same as what the ghoul had seen but somehow even more intense as he approached.
Their shrieks, yes, not even the male could not manage a low enough pitch to be classified as a scream, filled the air, before finally the man caught his breath long enough to tell the woman to run, that he would protect her. To get out there. It was amusing as he drew nearer, the woman being shoved by the man's arms to leave before he too gave in to his fear and turned to run. Too late. Much, much too late. Their Fear was heady, and it was almost disappointing as he summoned his sword into his left hand, beheading the male with an almost casual movement before reaching down, picking up his head.
There was only one reason to really touch the human's head. Because taking it with him, holding it up as he strode after the woman who was now sobbing, which took away valuable breathe that she needed to run properly, his stride eating up the ground, would only terrify her further each and every time she glanced back. The dripping head had the desired effect until he caught up with her, holding it out, letting the male's life fluids drip on her. She began to plead with him, begging, reminding him just how pathetic humans were. His sword flashed out, curved blade opening her stomach and watching as her entrails fell out and she collapsed. She was not dead, but Death would claim her soon enough. He dropped the head next to her and desummoned his blade as he made his way back to the horsewomen to see how their hunt fared.

As Lifen rejoined them, Lan smiled, unknowning to the lack of FEAR gathered. Lifen was conquest. Conquest simply did not fail. They only waiting until the right moment to strike and harvest. As muffled cries could be heard in the distance Lan smiled. The sweet sound of human suffering, pure music to her ears. Soren's return had her beaming, the smell of blood, human blood, lingering.
The scent of death.
He had either slain some foll or had a bit a fun, but either way Lan was pleased with the FEAR they were creating. "My turn." She walked towards the sound of water. Humans usually gathered at rivers, just like any other animal. Beasts, they were only a source of food.
The giggle of two, the whispers, Lan stopped in her tracks. She watched them, silent, waiting. Why did they get to be together? Why did they get to have each other? Anger and hurt welled up inside of her. How come humans, weak, pathetic, disgusting humans, were able to have love? It was not fair. Her love was dead, taken by insanity. There would be no secret messages hidden under tea tables. No flowers on her pillow at night. No promises of battles to be won. Never again would she feel his arms around her, telling her she would rule one day and her servants would love her and adore her as he did. She'd lost him. Lost him to hunters and their plots.
She'd lost him to humans. Slowly the man looked up from the woman's neck, worry on his face. Lan didn't hide, she wanted him to see her. A golden bow string tight, ready to set the arrow into his skull. He didn't see her only a shadow.
Why should humans have love, when her's was denied to her?
A cutting pain in the man, a wound from no where. Each arrow sent into his body a wound, and together they screamed. Pain and Fear, the woman scrambled as the man told her to get help. She hesitated until Lan came closer. They saw only a shadow, gold eyes burning with hate. Two fingers one hand gripped the man's hair as she dug her nails into his skull ripping out an eye. The man was screaming and Finally the woman ran. Lan didn't bother, crushing the one eye in her hand, red blood running to stain her silk. Taking her bow she slammed one end into the man's back. His organs cut he'd bleed out, still able to walk his love flee-
Until an arrow was shot into her legs.
She still ran, and Lan scowled. Her mount was summoned, hooves clicking on the rock. Mounted archery, the horsewoman sent another arrow flying, hitting the human in her legs. She could run no more. Dismounting by the mortal Lan hissed. "This is you place you wretch." She slammed her foot down, the head cracking open like a ripe melon. Blood and gore, Lan paid it no mind, her anger and sorrow blinding her to much else. Returning, she turned her back to the other, trying to hide the tear streaks down her face. "I think I am done here."

As Lan left her once again to pursue more FEAR, Lifen stayed back, giving her a small smile as she wandered away. It was invigorating, being in a town that whispers and fright had alighted some parts of the town, the feeling almost singing in the air. Breathing in, she stepped forward to pursue something further, her elegant bow at the ready, string almost singing with excitement.
As she walked further, she searched around, trying to find something that would help her gather - the amount she had was meager at best, but it still flushed around, making her feel calmer than she was before hand.
It wasn't until a few moments later that she realized the feeling of something being around her, turning quickly, her hand was already on the string, pulling back, ready to send her arrow fly. But nothing showed up, the discomfort staying with her as she tried to wait it out, hoping it would flush out in to her line of sight, her breath held. It then dawned to her why the feeling felt so odd. Was this place a hitmark for something else of their kin? A high end monster? A demon? She wasn't sure, but the cold feeling of another almost a breath away made the horsewoman retreat - begrudgingly - from her spot. She did not feel like a territory fight. She would just have to make it up later. . .
With a defiant huff, she turned back, desummoning her bow as she wandered closer to Lan, who was blood-stained and crying. An alert ringing in her mind, making her walk faster for a few steps before realizing that it was not her blood, but whomever she had found. It still didn't matter, but she slowed down her walking and strolled up to the littler noble, enveloping her in a soft hug, uncertain as to what was making her hurt so much.
After the moment, she pulled back, her hand still on the horsewoman's shoulder, a smile showing on her face. "I am done also." She offered, before turning to Soren, the last of the trio.Lifen Stats Total Fear: 2. Good job, Lifen.

The feeling that had settled on Lifen had reached the guardian as well. Something was about, something not a horseman. But it felt dark, sinister. Soren did not mind sharing his prey this once, the air was already flush with Fear and both of the mares were ready to head back.
He kept an eye out just in case but nodded his head. "I've harvested enough for today." They were ready to go now, but this place was now one of their hunting grounds. He would be back, as many times as it took until the air around the village was constantly permeated with Fear, the humans trying to anticipate the next attack, and with no way to warn or arm themselves. Yes, this little village would serve its purpose well. Whatever else was out there could enjoy the harvest as well, but if it threatened him he would put it in its place.
But for now, it was back to Halloween, their temporary home. It would be different now though, different as they came back, flushed with Fear. With victory.

The pain was something she was supposed to keep buried and never expose. Tears, emotions, they were weaknesses, and they had no place in Conquest. In battle. If you had feelings you kept them to yourself or you loved ones. But what happened when all those you love left you? Lan didn't know the answer.
Lifen touch had the horsewoman trembling slightly. "I'll rip every happiness from them." He voice was low and filled with pure hate. "I'll make them suffer, deny them even the smallest of pleasures as I rend their body and souls apart." He moved away from Lifen, taking in a breath before summoning her mount. Looking back to Soren she tried to smile, tried to hide that pain.
"If we're done then, let us return. I am sure the clans will be please with what we've accomplished this night."

A soft frown showed up on the horsewoman's face when Lan had murmured the poison-imbued words to her - but she wasn't sure what to say. She wanted to ask and soothe the younger horsewoman, but, she wasn't going to start pulling the truth out in such an open area - Soren or no Soren. It only took her a moment to come to a decision, before straightening up and showing a more sober, caring face.
"I think we should go home, and I'll make you a cup of tea, okay? You need to warm up." She murmured softly to the Noblewoman as she helped her on to her mount, looking back to Soren and awarding him with a soft smile also, trying to show nothing for him to worry of. She would ask Lan later, when it was easier to talk.
"I think it is safe to say we are done, and ready to leave." She announced as she summoned her mount, looking to Soren. "Ride with us until we reach our clan border? I will take Ms. Lan home when we get there." She requested, as she pulled lightly on the reins and helped herself up to the noble creature she had bonded with.

Even if Soren could not make out all of the words, he was fairly sure he could understand part of what she was telling the horsewoman. He felt no shame in her emotions, after all, he had been the one with tears flowing down his face as they remembered the Isles. Being controlled by emotions was bad, but simply having them was not.
Of course, he put none of that into words, merely nodding in agreement that the Clans would be proud. It was not as much Fear as they were used to harvesting, but it was something, and it meant that the Clans would survive that much longer. And really, there were just setting up a good base for future crops. He needed no urging to mount, simply letting his Fear, which was already flush from their time there, rise up and solidify into a giant horse. Larger ones had been in existence in the human world, but not many. His steed with its pale, almost ethereal blue-grey tint stood with its shoulder even with his own height, but it was with practiced ease that he got onto its back, hands loosely grasping its mane as they set off toward the borders of their new land.
Before he parted ways with them he looked at the two horsewomen and said simply "thanks." It was nice to spend such a pleasant evening with other clan members.
