Kala Intro and Initiative
Kala's face reflected her anger and stubbornness in the set of her lips, the steel in her eyes, and the purposeful striking of her heavy steps.
The Dolphineers were as split on this revolution as the riders and weyrfolk, though most people likely hadn't remembered they existed. So often even those who worked with Dolphineers forgot they were a profession that Kala, had she been less casual about things, would have taken offense. Kala already sported handkerchief on her head where she had received a cut and smeared blood on her forehead from an encounter with one of the partner-less Journeyman Dolphineers who lived with them. Yara, the former Dolphineer, appeared to think that siding with the handlers would earn them a place far higher than that afforded them by the riders.
Who in the name of Faranth's First Egg Sharding cared? Rank? Really? Rank was for Lord Holders and dragonriders to worry about. Aside from the basic ranks afforded by their Craft from well-earned experience, rank played no part in a Dolphineer's life, and Kala liked it that way. She had joined the Craft because she loved the dolphins, the work the Dolphineers did, and the fact that what they did helped others, dolphin and man alike. The revolutionaries weren't doing anyone but themselves any good and that kind of selfishness was inexcusable.
Misguided as these revolutionaries were, she had no choice but to refuse their insane plan to kill those who opposed them and fight back. Starting with clearing the section of Malvren Weyr dedicated to the Dolphineers.

Talakor Intro and Initiative
Talakor knew from the conversation he had overheard earlier that several of the Dolphineers were of the same mindset as Yara. Join the handlers, get recognition. But that idea was a crazed wher. It only worked so long as the wher decided you were a friend, and ended swiftly after that viewpoint changed. The wherhandlers were using Yara and the others to their ends, but they didn't seem to recognize that. Talakor was ready to take care of this the swift way now, save everyone some trouble. Wherry-brained dolphineers. Some of them had to have dolphin partners already, so what were they thinking?
Talakor shrugged, then slowed his steps as he heard talking from one of the rooms ahead. He recognized at least once voice, and tapped Kala on the arm, pointing ahead of them and then nodding. Those were revolutionaries or Talakor missed his guess. And he didn't usually.

Utrin Introduction (and rolling for both Revolutionaries)
Utrin looked up and held up a hand at the boy he had been speaking to. Utrin, a long-time Journeyman Dolphineer, had been going around the Dolphincraft Hall looking for allies and making sure that those already for the Cause were prepared to do as they had promised long ago. For him, the benefit of Malvren falling to the wherhandlers would be great: a Master Dolphineer position, most certainly. After all, whers weren't much use in the water, were they? And they needed someone they could trust leading the pods if they wanted to keep the locals protected from the sea.
Now, however, he stopped himself and listened, sure he had heard something. Had that been a footstep in the hall? He turned his head and looked at the door, then jerked his head at Lorrono and moved quietly toward the doorway.

Kala Attacking Utrin
Kala moved forward with more caution now that Talakor had pointed it out, but the voices had fallen silent. Obviously, they had also noticed someone else was about. Kala looked at Talakor and nodded, then held up her fingers, counting down. She saw Tal ready himself.
One. Two--
Before even reaching three, she flung herself into the room, banging the partially closed door open. The wood slammed into the face of the man who had been standing in the way and nearly bounced back into Kala's face, except that she braced it with her shoulder as she stepped into the room. Apparently her quick move had worked to startle the occupants inside; perhaps they had expected their enemy would give them the chance to ready themselves.
"I don't suppose you know where I can find some traitors," she offered, looking between Utrin and Lorrono. Lorrono had always been something of a follower. It wasn't surprising that he'd been taken in, though Kala doubted he was doing this with any real malice. Poor boy.

Talakor Attacking Utrin
Talakor gritted his teeth and followed Kala in, trying not to think about how thoroughly she had just fooled him. He'd been prepared to rush in first, but Kala didn't sit back. He would have to ask her if she had done that just to keep him from throwing himself into the fray once this was all over.
He kept his steps quick, wanting to stay moving so he wouldn't become an easy target for whoever was in the room. It looked like he was worried for nothing, though. The room only had two occupants, and they had been taken by surprise. Already he and Kala had one-up on them.
One was Lorrono, who didn't look ready for a fight. Tal knew he'd be the type to become one of the on-shore Dolphineers. The other was a face-familiar older Dolphineer, whatever-his-name-was, that Talakor had seen around. He looked ready to start something, though, so Talakor stepped up and threw a solid punch in his direction.
"Oh, caught you in the face?" he inquired cheerfully.

Utrin Attacking Talakor
The hit from the door was unexpected, and Utrin felt the sting as it slammed into his forehead and nose, leaving him to curse helplessly as his eyes welled with tears. He stepped back to avoid getting hit with the door again, and a good thing too, as a second person entered. Two apprentices, it seemed, and Utrin sneered at the girl's uppity commentary. She obviously wasn't one to understand ambition. Maybe the boy would prove more useful.
"Matter of opinion, isn't it?" he asked, and was suddenly buffeted again, tis time by the male apprentice. He managed to take the hit in his arm, rather than his face, and shot an answering jab back at him.
"Get the girl!" he shouted at Lorrono. With any luck, that one would actually be worth something with some direction.

Lorrono Attacking Kala
Oh, this was not what he had signed up for! Sure, Utrin had said it would take some violence to get the weyrs, but Lorrono hadn't wanted to be in that part of it himself. He wasn't a fighter!
Lorrono had felt that horrible tightening in his stomach when Kala appeared, and more so when Talakor had. Lorrono avoided Talakor, as many people did, mostly because Tal tended to bring strife wherever he went (in one form or another). Negative feelings... Lorrono hated those.
Utrin's command was met with hesitation as Kala abruptly turned her attention on him. He clenched his fists, but knew his fear was written all over his face, and saw her smile slightly at him before she looked back at Utrin. When she took a step forward, Lorrono forced his muscles into action, running at her and trying to swing a completely ineffective punch at her as she turned back to him.

Kala Attacking Lorrono
Kala checked to see if Lorrono was going to follow Utrin's order, and gave him a friendly smile when he didn't attack. Maybe he had been strong-armed into siding with the revolutionaries, but he wasn't theirs yet.
She turned back to Utrin, intending to help Talakor subdue him, and heard feet hitting the stone behind her. She turned in time to avoid Lorrono's hesitant blow and took a step back to prevent him from getting a second blow in.
"Lorrono, this is not what you want to do. Don't fight us. You can still leave."
Behind her, she heard the sounds of more blows being exchanged and knew her attention should be there. However, Lorrono was still looking at her and she could see that her words wouldn't convince him at this moment. He was determined to help Utrin, which meant he was just going to attack her again if she turned her back.
Maybe a bit of a head-rattling would convince him to stop. Kala really didn't want to hurt him when it was clear Lorrono had no idea what he was doing, but there wasn't another option at the moment. So instead she gave him what he wanted and strode forward, exchanging his attempted punch for one of her own.

Talakor Attacking Utrin
That punch had hurt, but Talakor didn't hesitate to strike back immediately. He ignored Kala and the other apprentice, hoping that she could handle him on her own. This guy was going to take all of his concentration, it appeared.
That assessment proved true, as Utrin dodged Talakor's attack and Tal prepared himself to receive another blow. He wouldn't ask for Kala's help just yet, but if this guy was as experienced as he appeared to be, Tal thought he might end up needing it.

Utrin Attacking Talakor
Utrin was gratified to see Lorrono take the girl's attention off of him and devoted himself to his current fight, dodging aside from a sloppy punch. He hit back with a two-handed try of his own, hoping the boy wasn't as agile as he looked.

Lorrono Defending from Kala
Lorrono saw the strike coming and blocked with his forearms, feeling the majority of the blow deflected. Dolphineer training meant all of them were strong, which was both a benefit and a curse in this situation. He peeked out from between his arms to see if Kala was coming back with another attack.

Kala Attacking Lorrono
He didn't look very shaken up from the punch, so Kala directed a second blow at his exposed side, though she admittedly pulled some of the power behind it. He needed to understand that this wasn't something he could play at; he had to be serious, or he needed to see the truth of this fighting and back down.
"Lorrono," she said again as she struck, "I don't want to fight you and you don't want to fight me. Don't do this just because he told you to."

Talakor Defending from Utrin
Talakor quickly blocked the blow, trying not to feel the sting of the punch as badly as he did. Kala could come help him any time now! Still, he wouldn't let his pain show, and putting on a good face was what he did best.
"So what brings you to a low place like this, hm? Attacking your own peers," Talakor taunted, his voice just as cheerful as before. "A bit strange for a Dolphineer dedicated to protecting Pern."

Utrin Attacking Talakor
Utrin's expression tightened and he hit Talakor again.
"You have a smart mouth." It was his only reply, as he wasn't willing to be distracted enough to let an attack through, so long as Lorrono kept the other one distracted.
This pair was going to go down, even if he had to do it himself. He was too focused on not letting anything get through from his opponent to see what Lorrono was doing, but since the girl wasn't also attacking him, Utrin assumed she was sufficiently distracted.

Lorrono Defending from Kala
Thanks to his peeking through his forearms, Lorrono managed to move completely away from the blow, but it did cause him to stumble back, away from his fight.
"I have to help," Lorrono replied as he caught himself on a table, staring half with determination, half with crippling uncertainty at Kala. "I'm sorry."
