 Sky watched the sea serpents sway in the middle of the lake. They did love dancing in the middle of storms. Apparently lightening didn't bother them nearly as much as it seemed to everything else. They were gentle creatures that only ate the large fish in the lake but they were so savagely beautiful that sometimes one could see them as hunters of bigger game in the primal predatory way of things. Not something that adored sushi so much that it would not eat anything else. Yuck fish. Sky made a face and glanced around to make sure he wasn't gonna be pummeled by his two favorite family members. Them being Lan and Kai. Coast clear he ruffled up his feathers in a busy way and went back to sea serpent prime time.

 (I really need to request him a cert I guess... >.<) Damir went walking. Uncle Jonda had promised to watch Mona and Kamryn for him so he took the opportunity to get away and try to clear his head, but while he was out, a storm had come up, making it difficult for him to return home.
He needed to think.. His mother.. was gone... His.. well not his anymore... but Cece as gone.. because of him... because he mated with someone else... She had left.. He no longer had her and he doubted he ever would. He had betrayed her trust in a moment of weakness and there was nothing he could do to take it back.
Damir was so distracted by his thoughts that he just let his hooves carry him where they wanted, not paying attention to his surroundings, So of course it was no surprise when he ran into a great.. feathered thing, sending him sprawling wide legged on the ground like he used to fall when he was a colt. "I am soo sorry..." He muttered trying to untangle his legs so he could stand again.

There he was all unsuspecting like and he gets glomped. He hadn't even heard the other azrein coming. "You arn't related are you? Clutses run in the family and your almost the same color." Sky had never seen this azrein before. He would have remembered all the swirlyness stuck on one body. Sky glanced back at the serpents. Actually those markings kinda reminded him of them. Mysterious and swirly. Two of the collasal creatures had begun to twist and dance together. "I hope they don't get a knot in their tails." Sky snickered a bit at the position of the other stallion. "Are you alright? I thought we could only bend that way when we were foals."

Damir finally untwisted and stood up, his knees creaking like an old man's. He grimaced at the sound before turning to the winged beast he had knocked over. "Unless you are mated to one of my sisters we are not related. Neither of my mothers had any siblings." He responded, studying the other cautiously. "And obviously I still can bend that way, though its very uncomfortable." He gave a wary smile to the stranger. "I'm not usually a klutz, that was my mother, and it didn't get passed on to me, until recently I guess." He joked in a friendly manner as he admired the other male's faint fire like patterns. Reminiscent of real flames, but not even close to it... He thought of Paimon and Huel and their firey bodies. Still.. even though it didn't look real, the flame like markings were attractive, and so where his wings. Damir had always been sad that his mother's wings had not been passed on to him, as small as they were.

"I am mated to know one currently. Thankfully I have wings so I was made to be less clutsy then certain cousins of mine. Kai can't run past the most even tempered trees without them tripping him. I don't know how it happens but it does. I prefer the sky. Less roots up there." He tilted his head. Where did you come from? I live here well on the other side of here. I mean the lake." Was he babbling? Yes he was.

Damir nodded. That was good to know. He enjoyed the coloring and the friendly attitude, though he was rambling, of this azrein. "I was born in a glen not far from here. The glen is next to my mother's.. well.... who was my mother's Bond.. she's not anymore I guess..." Damir looked away. He was still trying to get used to the fact that his mother was no more. "By the way, I'm Damir." He introduced, looking back up.

"Ahh you lost your mother and my family lost my Uncle the herd leader and a cousin. I am sorry for your loss. My name is Skyfyre Darkrain son of Dark Hellfyre and Gabreielle. I'm pleased to make your aquaintance." Sky stood up and bowed shallowly. "Do you need some shelter from the storm?' I adore watching the serpents dance but others don't much favor being out in the wind and wet." A small torrent of wind ruffled his feathers and made him look quite fluffy.

Damir sighed with appreciatino, his head was starting to hurt from the heaviness of the light rain, though it looked like this fellow would not have his problem, with a mane as short as that. "Shelter would be very nice, Skyfyre, son of Dark Hellfyre."He answered politely. "And I am sorry for your loss." He added when it registered in his head that Sky had said he had lost an uncle and a cousin. How sad. This war was already tearing families apart. Would it end without more bloodshed? Damir hoped so, though he severely doubted it.

"Alright then, follow me." He lead him to one of the quiet outlying pines of the herd so he wasn't bombarded with curious family. Poor guy might run screaming if that happened. Sky had an overlarge family, well minus the one half sister who had defected to join another herd. She had not fit in as well here anyway. He just hoped she was happy where she was. "There we are safe and dry here. Is there anything else you need Damir?"

Damir smiled at the kind stallion. "You are very caring, Skyfyre. Thank you. Your company.. would be very much accepted? I've been..." He looked away, shame washing over him.. He should be with his children... he should be with Cecelia.. but no.. he drove her away because of his children... Sighing he turned back up to Skyfyre, any trace of sadness washed off. "I would just like some company? Maybe you could tell me about your uncle?"

"I have been told I am good company. My Uncle ruled these lands fairly and kindly and with much patience. All who knew him here miss him. He was a Father, a mate, a brother and a friend. I didn't really know him all that well. Well as much as anyone living in the same herd did. He was a strong, comforting presence. It kind of breaks me to think that all of that was washed away so fast. He was an oak, proud and immortal and he was so quickly wiped out."

Damir nodded as he listened to Skyfyre describe his uncle. It made him realize that his mother wasn't the only good azrein to have fallen. "I believe my mother fell in the same incident that you're Uncle and many others did." He said softly looking up at Skyfyre.

"Most likely, There was so many who fell trying to save Valdien. Unfortunately all who tried failed and died. So many family's ruined. I wish there was something that could be done. I wish my brother was back and my cousin's father." Sky bowed his head. "All we can do is honor them and their memories by living life to its fullest."

Damir nodded as he watched Skyfyre.. Something about this stallion sparked Damir's heart... something that had been dead since he found out about his mother's death. "What are you doing to honor their memories?" He asked with cautious interest. He found himself studying the.. very attractive he decided, male before him once more.

"We are enjoying our freedom and taking less for granted. We still do scouting. And we are practicing our skills for the war to come. For example I fly up and try to find my cousins from the air and they try to hide from me. Thus honing various skills." Sky watched the sadness color the handsome stallions face. They were all hurting. It was a shared pain though carried by many shoulders.
