It was dark. The stillness of the night overtaking the environment, the only sounds being the critters of the night that remained out of near sight and the rustling of the foliage...That was, if you could block out the screams that bombarded the senses, not even the echoes finding their place between words. Each voice fought for dominance, for there were many and not one wanted best by the other, making it nearly unbearable to listen to. One sighed with an melodramatic breath, seeming to simmer the lot, but not entirely silencing them. Come on now guys! I didn't know! one cried out, a man...Fragile and elf-like in appearance. His clothes were a dull combination, not seeming to have much in comparison to the rest that surrounded him. He 'didn't know.' Another laughed, the rest grumbling a groaning in the background.Did you not look at your map when you decided to wander around? The very same person that laughed inquired coldly. Upon further examination, the crew of four had their backs to the elf man, in a circular shape. Why? Well, surrounding them were ghastly creatures, not pleasant to the eye in the slightest. The creatures all stood a few feet taller than the bulkiest member of the more humanoid looking lot, which was a near six feet, four inches. They would appear much taller if it were not for the fact that they had their elongated snake-like necks craned so that their heads were nearly eye level with their victims. From their backs protruded two scaly skin covered bones that looked to once be wings, and around them curled a thin whip-like tail that some flicked about and others lay to rest around their thighs. One of the members of the defending team gagged, I don't know if I can look at these things long enough to fight them. The jester from before laughed sarcastically again, and waved their weapon about to provoke the beast in front of them, getting a sharp claw swiped at them in return and an ear achingly high-pitched cry from it, not in pain, but in rage.If we can even put a dent in these ugly things! The only one that is above these guys is Cap'n, but only by, what two levels? The elf scoffed. Two is enough! Where is the Captain anyway? It says Captain Theodrane is still on. Didn't you send a message? The sarcastic one nodded, replying with a simple yes. Cap'n is never around when needed. They all sighed.

An abrupt voice broke though the forestry, the owner not visible."ѕorry gυyѕ! ι waѕ cυѕтoмιzιng a new ѕeт oғ arмor ѕo тнaт ι coυld мaтcн мy мoυnт and мιѕѕed yoυr мeѕѕage! ι нad тo go тнoυgн! ι'll leave yoυ мy ĸιrιn and cнιмera мoυnтѕ тo ғιgнт wιтн, тнey ѕнoυld do тнe тrιcĸ! "The voice was clearly feminine, but it was slightly off tune, deeper, like it was trapped within a heavy suit of armor, struggling to get out, but certainly not lacking in volume. A tremble shook the ground of the forest, foreign cries piercing the air with every other tremor. The lot seemed relieved, each sharing a soft sigh."danтe, ι ĸnow yoυ are new, вυт yoυ тooĸ тнe тυтorιal. don'т acт dυмв and ѕтay oυт oғ тroυвle вeғore ι вooт yoυ ғroм тнe groυp! ι don'т need мy crew ĸιlled wнιle ι aм away!" Before any could reply, the world went black, a swirling gold rimmed portal of some sorts replacing what was once the forest. The words "Come Back Soon" just visible in the background.

Leaning back in a well cushioned office chair was a young girl, no older than sixteen. Her short jet-black layers ruffled in a sort of release of tension before an alarm threatened to upset the room, but was quickly taken care of."School." The girl groaned, placing her palms to her face and sliding them down, dragging the skin with them; however, the youth of her skin made certain it bounced back immediately. It was funny how she always got up so early to get ready so that she had time to play online and how much energy she seemed to have until the realization that she would have to log off and drag herself out of the house drained the energy right out of her. School wasn't something she was exactly fond of, the people there making her want to vomit at the mere sight of them. The people online were so much more pleasant, she wished that she could always be among her online acquaintances, or rather, friends. That, or everyone offline became more pleasant like those that played the game she did. Game. She laughed at the thought. It was becoming more of a lifestyle.

She dressed simple for her classes that day, throwing on a fitting band tee, a pair of tattered jeans, converse, and a personal favorite of hers; a white and blue block hoodie. It matched the two long strands of bang she allowed to grow out and eventually dyed a light blue, as well as some of the layers in the back that she spiked out with jell. Grabbing her shoulder bag of books, she paced out to the kitchen where her mother and brother were contently indulging themselves with breakfast. Her father having already left for work hours ago."Headin' out."She casually proclaimed, brushing past her brother with a cold shoulder as she swiped a few pizza rolls to hold her over. Routinely her mother told her to be careful and to have a good day, as any other mother did, and her brother did nothing but grumble at his plate as she walked out the door.

Living practically in the middle of town mean that the school was but only a few minutes walk from her home, which meant there was no driving. Well, she had her license, she could, but she found there to be no point in it and a complete waste of gas for when she actually needed it.A little walk never hurt anyone anyway. Popping the last pizza roll in her mouth like a daily pill, the slender girl came to a halt, staring at the building that loomed in the distance."Hell bound, ho!" As enthusiastic as the words seemed, her tone and body language spoke otherwise as she grudgingly pressed forward to the school, not bothering with the sidewalk as the schoolyard seemed fine enough to cross through to the doors. As much as she inwardly loathed most of her peers, she tried her best to be outwardly appealing, smiling and waving to those that did so to her and casually carrying conversation with even those she did not exactly consider a friend. There were few though that she could only scowl at, few yes, but enough to mentally drive her out the door on sight.

Love writes a letter and sends it to hate.
Hate reads the letter and throws it away.

Love sings a song as she sails through the sky.
Hate keeps his head up and walks through the street.

Love has been waiting, patient and kind.
Hate says "Love, I'm sorry."

The sounds of the wind over barren sand and stone was like ghosts whispering warning, those that had already been slain trying to drive others away from the same fate, or perhaps instead to force the living to join them. The sky was a sickening purple color, like dark thunder clouds without definition covered it. It was about then that the monster screeched like something from a horror movie, but this wasn’t just some actors, the beast was screaming and wailing with pain. Before it stood a male glad in blue and gold robes, short black hair framed his face and in his hand was a lantern which seemed to encapsulate a star in place of a flame. His eyes were cold as he watched the beast tense before falling and twitching on the landscape as its life finally faded from it. He turned and began walking away from the corpse which soon disappeared seemingly into the air behind him, its blood too vanishing and leaving the scene as if nothing had happened.

Just one more wailing voice in the wind.

He realized he was getting a bit bored with this, he’d only been a priest for about two months but he found he’d grown out of enjoying the spells he could accumulate. He went through his spell book which was mostly filled with healing type spells and the few odds and ends of offensive or –mostly-defensive others, he’d thought the challenge would be fun but he had already mastered the art of fighting with few options and since he was never in a party many of his spells went to waste. He finally reached his destination, a large golden portal that revolved slowly before him. He reached out and soon a screen popped up with many words on it but he already knew the ones he wished for. He entered the code words for the port town Lacrima and soon was surrounded but a column of swirling gold rings as the scenery around him faded into black.

Suddenly he was back on cobblestone streets, the sound of others filling his ears in the busy town even at this ungodly hour in the morning. He walked down the streets quietly, a few others-in particular another priest-tried to get him to join their party to go to a high level area.
“Hey, you there, Lupus, it will get you plenty of rare items and maybe a level or two.” The male asked, his voice rather high pitched. Lupus shook his head and continued on, glancing from side to side until he found the miscellaneous shop. He stepped up to the counter and the customary greeting sounded. “I am Erick the miscellaneous item vendor, would you like to buy an item or sell your wares?” He sighed, selecting sell from the prompt that appeared and emptied much of his bag of useless weapons and potions before leaving the shop with plenty of money to spare.

He wasn’t sure if he was going to go and buy something-perhaps some new armor or a staff to replace his lantern-but before he could the loud alarm sounded and his body froze awkwardly in the street, not moving a muscle. In the real world Koen had thrown down his head set and jumped clumsily from his computer chair in order to hit the off button on his alarm clock. He rubbed his eyes wearily, had he really spent another whole night playing that game? He sighed, going back to his monitor and logging out, saying good bye to his alter ego and shutting down the computer. He then grabbed a pair of blue jeans which he knew fit snug but not so tight as to hinder movement. He then fished around for a white button shirt and a pair of boxers-not noting the color-before heading to the bathroom before his mother awoke and occupied it for the next hour with hair and makeup. He dropped his clothes on the floor before taking care of business and then removing his clothes from the previous night.

He stepped into the shower and quickly washed his light brown hair that nearly seemed grey which was a similar length to his character-about the only thing they shared-before scrubbing the rest of himself and stepping out. He dried and dressed before trying to towel his hair as dry as possible. He then brushed it and his teeth fervently as he realized he was running a bit later than normal-his body a bit sluggish from lack of sleep. Why did he forfeit sleep for a game he was getting tired of? He wasn’t sure, something about not having to be the friendly person, not having to be all smiles just because that’s what is expected of you. Sure he was nice online too but he wasn’t fake about it like in real life. What an irony. He finally finished getting ready before going back to his room and pulling on some white socks and hi black belt before descending the stairs two at a time.

The kitchen was silent, his father out of the picture since he was young and his mother not yet awake. He was use to this, he didn’t often see his mother even though they lived together, on weekdays he was normally gone before she awoke if he was on time and she often went to bars after work until the early hours of morning, trying to find that “special guy” to replace her ex. On weekends it was much the same though he normally slept-or pretended to-until she left, he hated her nagging him about his wrinkled shirt or messed hair, at least he didn’t always smell like booze right? He shook his head and the thoughts dispersed as he popped two pieces of bread into the toaster while he rummaged around for some blue berry jam –his favorite kind-and then poured himself some apple juice.

He was glad that he was now at least on time and after breakfast he grabbed his bag and hopped on his bike, the school a bit too far to walk there in a timely manner, but he detested the bus and so rose his bike on days that the weather allowed. When the building came into view he slowed and hopped off, walking his bike the rest of the way to draw out the moments until he had to pretend he was wide awake and bushy tailed and that he loved the world around him. That was what the more “popular” kids had to do right? When he entered the school yard a group of boys waved cheerily to him and once he’d locked his bike in place he walked over to join them as they smile and laughed about movies, girls, and the latest rumors.

The problem was that no one here knew that he played an online role playing game, those things were considered “nerdy” and he didn’t wish to lose his friends over something as foolish as that, so he didn’t tell them about his other life, the one where he was a powerful priest who slew monsters in a virtual reality that was more appealing then the real world. Again he shook the thoughts away and as the bell rang children groaned before flocking into the building like well trained sheep. He lagged behind a bit, still groggy and in a worse mood then the usual, maybe he wouldn’t log in tonight and get some sleep… as if he could manage such a feat! He looked up and noted one of the girls at school who he was expected to dislike for the way she dressed-and as far as he knew that was the only reason-but he was too tired to worry about teasing her or giving her a sneer today so he just looked ahead again, covering his mouth as he yawned loudly before reaching the class room door, maybe he’d take a nap in class today, might as well.

Routinely, Elissa threw herself down on the bench just within the school's entrance, sighing to the fact that she was pried everyday from her virtual bliss for this. Getting up each morning with the knowledge that she would be herded from one room to another like a mindless animal and forced asleep by a blathering babysitter. Sure, she wasn't the only one that had to endure the drawn out agony, but she was certain that none were in her same condition. The world she played in beckoned her with the thrumming of the clocks that surrounded her, this made the girl antsy throughout the day, everyday. She even picked up an irritating habit of tapping her fingers on any solid object that she could victimize. The bell having not even rang yet, she was already striking at the back of the bench to a phantom rhythm, finding thoughts wandering else where.

What was she going to buy? What was she going to sell? Should she add new members to her crew or should she pluck some out? Surely she would have to help a few of the newer kids out...They probably were anything, but, kids; however, it did not matter in virtual reality, new users were kids to her and she was their guardian through the beginning of their experiences, of course, most didn't stay much longer after they had learned the ropes and leeched off her experience. Elissa didn't mind though, she had done the same thing. There was that elf boy, Dante, perhaps she would take some time tonight to teach him a thing or two...Yeah, that was her final decision.

Adrift in her thoughts, Elissa jumped at the sudden shift in the bench, the wood creaking under the weight of the new arrivals.Mornin' Eli! A high-pitched voice chimed, the owner of voice radiating an unusual, rather unnatural, cheerfulness for a teenager at such an early hour. It was unhealthy, Elissa thought, for someone to be teeming with such high spirits at any hour. Sickening. Despite some agitation, through her grogginess, the corners of her mouth lifted to appease the others; the second being a heavier set boy, a slight embarrassment to even Elissa, as he sported a My Little Pony shirt and messenger bag. The boy made her want to slink into the darkest reaches of the school, never to be found, and yet she still could not bring herself to be so cruel to him as others; however, she was still a bit stern at times toward him."Mornin' Kimmi."Relieving the back of the bench of her weight, she leaned forward to see the boy at the end of the bench, he smiled in return to her brief, awkward, wave."Sup, Chase?"It was a routine question that was rarely ever answered, a simple rise and fall of the shoulders sufficing. They hardly ever spoke much before the bell, even Kim giving into the laze of the two, and instead they people watched. It was always the same faces, but they seemed to change in some way from day-to-day.

There were a few that never seemed to change in her eyes, a group that stood out in the crowd, and a lot that she tried her best to keep from. Act-alikes, that's what they were, some called them "popular" but hell, who would want to be so neatly cut from another; so unoriginal. Spoke the same, dressed the same, acted the same, they probably thought the same too for all she knew. They had to, to be so alike to each other and think of the same ridiculous comments or agree upon the same ridiculous things. Again, another thing that sickened her. They always looked down on her and her own group, surely they weren't the only ones that picked one, but they were the main people they plucked out of the crowd. Elissa hated being pulled from a crowd like she was but she wasn't going to change her look just for them. She could look like the rest and blind right in, but she liked her blue-black hair and her loose, comfortable, clothing. Why would anyone want to wear the tight attire of others and the flashy accessories that screamed for attention? Maybe for a special occasion she would consider it, otherwise, no.It wasn't going to happen.

The pale girl scowled, not just at the sight of the boys, but the annoyance that rang overhead that pried her from the bench without much thought to it. She was slightly surprised by one of the Act-alikes, he wasn't...Well, living up to his name. Instead of returning her scowl and poking at her appearance like the others, he simply moved along down the hall. It wouldn't have been a first, however, so the shock was no where over a fraction of a second. She had better things to dwell on, like her combination. Elissa swore to herself, also routine, as she fumbled about with the twisting knob. It was rigged, she always swore it was, each year she would have the hardest time getting the combination right the first time, she could remember every lengthy stat number or complex name of her game and write them down without flaw, but never the combination to her locker. It seemed like second nature, just knowing the spot on the knob that were right, not the numbers themselves, but just the slight over turn of the knob and the whole thing was done. That was what caused her problems, that, and the first number of her combination.13 or 27? They were in there somewhere, but where?

Finally, reaping her rewards from her victory over the vicious locker, Elissa adjusted her hood and made for her first place; however, not before shoving past one of her friends with a wide grin, looking back briefly to watch them scramble and point at her. She didn't have many classes with them, mostly just the classes at the end of the day, with the exception of lunch, but, to her dismay, she did share morning classes with a few of the disgusting lot of boys as well as a class or two in the afternoon. Some days she didn't mind them, they would hold up class with some mildly entertaining acts or topics, then there were the other days that she couldn't stand them. No matter how well she kept to herself, one of them would find their way to her. She hoped it would be the earlier of the two as she seated herself just as row in front of the back, almost seeming in the loop of the social circle, yet very distant in the same sense. It would be notes again, it was usually notes two days before a test, so she got her note pad out as if she cared. She wasn't going to bother herself though, she managed well enough without them, so instead she lost herself in the life of the blank paper. The images from her second life clouding her vision as she stared at the note pad. The stragglers began to file in their seats and the teacher pried himself from his computer to prepare for the tardy bell that would begin class officially. Elissa gave glances to the teacher as he spoke, but otherwise oblivious, doodling out her own notes that consisted of pictures and strange words that seemed almost foreign, or, at least, it did to those that she could feel were prying their eyes in her direction. It wasn't a secret that she played "weird" games, but the thrill people got from teasing her seemed to never cease. She could only sigh.

He was one of the few kids who had rejected using a locker and instead carried all his books in slightly over used black back pack, one strap having torn and so it was only slung over his left arm. There was little reason for his distaste of lockers, only which it was easier to get here just in time to make the bell and then loiter with friends until just before the late bell, not worrying over what was left within the metal contraption and having less numbers to memorize for the year. Today he was standing outside his first class, one of his friends chatting his ear off about the new girl in the grade bellow them and her amazing body. Koen-admittedly-was a bit interested, but lack of sleep and his unfinished business in the game left him with little to say on the matter until he noted the teacher within the room getting ready to start attendance.

He smiled to his friends as they went on their way, one accompanying him into the room as they made their way to the back row. He ended up sitting behind one of the social outcasts, but he hardly cared as his friend made a face at her back that was supposed to be humorous. Koen just gave half a grin before pulling out his notebook and pen and opening to one of the back pages as he began to write all the things he had to do in the game tonight. He needed some new armor, perhaps a black robe or a thick cape? Maybe some enchanted jewelry to raise his defense stat too… and a weapon with better offensive abilities…. He was off in his won world as class commenced, the teacher droning on about something or another.

He heard the girl in front of him sigh and this made him blink, was she bored too? He looked about the room and realized everyone seemed pretty out of it, not actually listening or taking notes, most drawing, napping or texting beneath their desks. That reminded him as he pulled out his small slide phone that he hadn’t texted his girlfriend that morning. Well girlfriend was a loose term, more the girl that bothered him and hugged him and held his hand… even kissed him on occasion, but he didn’t have any feelings for her, not aside the hormone driven ones, and she sure as anything didn’t know about his secret passion for online gaming. He sighed, looking to the screen, she had already sent him a message this morning, a small winking face and a “good morning honey” , he truly hoped she knew this wasn’t anything more than a high school relationship, sometimes the way she spoke was like they were married.

He quietly and discreetly messaged back with a good morning before resuming his listing, adding the names of a few quests he’d heard about while in town the previous night and the rare items he could gain from them. He knew he should have been paying more attention in class, but he was a solid B- student so what did it matter? He’d pass anyways right? He finally finished with everything he could think of and so flipped the page over and started drawing, he wasn’t the best artist, but the comparatively simple graphics of the gaming world were something he could replicate a bit on paper. He drew a base for his character and doodled in new weapons and clothes, erasing things and redrawing them, making his ideal outfit within his notebook though every day his ideal changed. He wondered if perhaps he should join a party to go and get his level up, but then again he hated playing with new characters and he also didn’t like those who acted as if they knew everything about the game, it made it less fun.

To him the game was another world, not just data. To him new characters were inexperienced and died too often, thinking that since it was a game a death didn’t matter. Exp0erienced players too took it for granted, assuming there were always limits and that those limits could be memorized. To him though it was a real world, no second chances and no limits. If he died in the game he often made a new character and started over, if he found a limit he ignored it and forgot about it and went on as if there were no boundaries. He realized he’d been drawing one of the bridges in the port town, a place he often frequented to listen to passersby and gather information discreetly about new quests, items and events. Perhaps he’d return there after school today and enjoy the virtual scenery and catch up on the latest gossip, there wasn’t much else to do after all so he might as well let his alter ego relax for awhile.

She was used to the few stares that were thrown at her and the hushed tones that failed to hide their thoughts, somehow finding a way to shut them out...For the most part. Elissa had seemed to suddenly hit a rut, her pen bobbing to and from the paper's surface. Letters and symbols crowded the top of the page, they looked meaningless, just a jumbled scrap of numbers and weird characters, but her trained eyes seemed to pick them up with skill. The pen dropped from her delicate fingers and her head finally arose from the desk, drifting upward to the clock just above the board where the teacher stood with words scrawled across it and pictures that were used to give a visual meaning to the terms. Now, those were meaningless to her. It took a moment, one that always seemed an eternity, for her eyes to adjust to the distance they had to reach out to, the thick black numbers nothing but fuzzy blobs and the hands too thin to actually see. The heel of her palm that she rubbed her right eye with didn't help much either, only making the blur thicken, but after a few blinks the clock finally came into view.

Focusing, she softly grumbled and swore at the clock. The seat made her feel like she had been sitting for a crippling amount of time, but there still was a good twenty minutes left of class and the thought of it only being the first class nearly dropped her head on the hard wood of the desk, but she fought the temptation.
Alright, alright Elissa, take a deep breath. The more time there is, the more time you have to think. This class did nothing more than provide her with free time to do what she wanted at a low profile so, she took her pen back in hand and began to doodle across the paper as a whole. It was rough, sketchy astray lines scattered across the page with the occasional spots of ink where she hesitated to lift her pen as if in thought. Though crude, the girl's lips still were teased at the corners in a small smile. They were large creatures, or so they seemed by the way they were drawn, only recognizable by the large lion-like paws and head that closely resembled a canine's, the frenzy of lines around it making it look childish and hard to see, though she saw it as a mane and the creature much alive in her head; however, it wasn't in existence in any world but her own and that of her virtual life. The creature was like a real pet to her, sure she had many other virtual creatures that too served the same purpose in the game, but an attachment was made to the one she drew. Elissa had a real pet before when she was younger, but now in her much smaller home her mother wasn't willing to buy another, saying she would have to get one of her own with her own money and take care of it with her own money as well. It didn't seem worth it. In order to get that money she would have to get a job and that wouldn't have been much of a problem if she wasn't already feeling a struggle for sufficient time online. To get a job would mean she would have to give up so much of her time she could be spending with her 'friends' and in her ideal world. The creature from her virtual reality was like her pet, the virtual equivalent of something she felt she could not afford in many ways, and she treated it like such. It was weird, she even had to admit it at times, but it felt right.

Caught up in her thoughts, she hadn't realized the teacher had passed out an assignment, not until the person in front of her grunted and practically tossed the papers at her from over their shoulder. After scrambling about her desk to keep the papers from falling off, she straightened them up and grumbled her threats under her breath. Her assignment was slapped over her note pad and the rest snaked over her shoulder and slid onto the person's desk behind her.
"I don't have time for this crap." She sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose between her index and thumb. It was simple, a front and back sheet, nothing too difficult, it just meant she would actually have to put effort into her school day so that she could have everything done before she got home.

Having the last few minutes of class to look the paper over, she already rushed to start it; not looking to get it done, just have enough to get her motivated later. Scratching down the little bit she could, Elissa dropped her pen at the bell and leaned back in her chair, stifling any exasperated breath she had in her seeing who had seated themselves behind her. The girl scowled, straightening herself up to hide it. He hadn't said a word the whole class period though, she had no reason to loath the boy yet today, but she was sure he would give her a reason, his friends already plotting. She knew when they planned their childish antics, they weren't exactly the quietest bunch, but she tried to ignore them the best she could when they did.

Taking her time, Elissa gathered her work and whatever more needed set in place, then paced herself out of the room. She liked to be the last one out, or close to it, not only for the momentary silence, but for the fact that if the group of Act-alikes were ahead of her, she wouldn't have to watch her back; however, she did have to be wary when she walked through the door, peering out before actually stepping into the hall. The boy's seemed rather tame the past couple of weeks, probably bored with teasing her, so she was more relaxed in her steps.

What I Lack In Decorum:
We don't have to go through the whole school day. We can do a class or two with lunch and whatnot, unless you have an idea?

He was wondering just how long this day could drag on, though he did have one free block today so perhaps he would go to the library and use one of the computers to get online, sure he couldn’t run the full game on those old dinosaurs, but he could check the site forums and read about what was going on and any new items or other rumors that seemed worth checking out tonight. He knew he was something near addicted to the game but what could he do about it? It was better than just sitting and staring at a TV right? At least with the game he was learning skills to make money and how to solve puzzles right? Then again perhaps he was just trying to make a reason for it to be okay for him to play something considered childish.

He was still drawing, vaguely shading in the background of the port town behind the bridge, even drawing in some fuzzy other characters, and then the water bellow, though suddenly there were papers on his desk and he sighed, he didn’t feel like doing work. He glanced up to the clock and saw they only had a few more moments of class and so he quickly tried to fill out as much of the paper as possible, filling in all the easy answers and ones he didn’t know he just guessed, so what if half of it was wrong? He’d still get checked off for having done it and that was all that mattered really, it kept his grade in just the right place to allow him to pass but to not be considered a nerd. He had just finished the first side when the bell rang and he quickly gathered everything and shoved it quickly into his bag, crumbling papers and messing up folders but he didn’t care as he zipped it as best he could and practically ran from the room.

In the hall he looked for one of his friends but unfortunately they had all already headed to their next class. Instead he saw his girlfriend and couldn’t help a small sigh leaving his lips, he didn’t feel like being dragged around by her today and as he thought about it he realized they shared the next class. He grumbled again. She walked over, tall, blonde, thin and large in the chest, but in truth he just found her decently good looking, everything else about her thought bored him or annoyed him, she was just convenient really, thought that convenience was running out. But as she sped over to him and pecked his lips he returned it quickly before he felt his hand in hers as she practically dragged him to their next class.

When they entered he saw one of his friends waving him over and so he and Amy-the girl’s name which sometimes he was surprised he remembered-wandered to the back corner and found seats, their hands still connected over the desk. The boy was whispering even though the rest of the room was so noisy so it was unnecessary.
“So you know that girl and her two friends there? Well I was thinking of something else to do to them, what about glue on their seats this time?” This got a few laughs from some of the boys, Koen just shrugged with a grin, he was more worried over making it to his free block and getting online then any pranks really, he had more amusing things to do then embarrass some outcasts.

When the teacher called class to order he just turned in his seat, Amy finally releasing him as he pulled out the now crumple worksheet from his last class as he began to work on the second side, wanting it done and out of the way before he got home, and since he had the time now he figured why not just finish it? But as he scrawled in answers he realized just how poorly he knew the material, he knew he was slipping even further in school than normal, but it wasn’t like his parents would care and as long as he didn’t fail… He looked down to the sheet and sighed as he rested his elbow on the table and his chin in his palm as he went about the last few questions, maybe he would nap after this, he was pretty exhausted.

As she had hoped, the troublemakers were clear of the halls; well, the ones she was worried about anyway. Finding her steps more casual than rushed, Elissa strolled to the junior locker hall even with no need to be there for her own locker. Awaiting her was her heavier friend, fiddling with his kindle, her locker as his brace. There was always that split second where her insides turned, as if they were going to walk the opposite direction without her and avoid the awkwardness the extremely strange kid created for her. There was no secret about it, he liked her.She shook her head. No, no, it wasn't just a normal little crush guys had. This "crush" was obsessive and, how else could she put it, creepy. She wanted him to give her one, just one, reason to hit him once and be done with the whole thing; the whole friendship. There were moments though where she couldn't help but be glad he was there, it was rare, but he had all good intentions and tried his best, she could tell, to be her friend. Elissa knew he was the reason others made fun of her but someone had to be his friend and her conscience wouldn't allow her let him down."What takes you so long? Your class is right.there." The boy gestured to the hall was intersected by the one they were in and sighed with a clumsy hand rummaging through his bag to put the object away and replace it with a book, large, and one Eli was not fooled by."When you finally get rid of that book, I will tell you." Her tone was sharp, one she used towards him often to show she wasn't going to tolerate much that passed his lips. Taking the hint, he raised his hands up in surrender, nearly dropping the book when his fingers slipped from everything but the back-cover."Is Kim still in Chorale?" The girl inquired after having scanned the hall for the other girl with no sign of her. Chase fumbled about an explanation, which in the end came to the conclusion that he had no idea, to which she merely shrugged him off and motioned for him to follow her to their next class; however, he would have followed either way.

With the love sick boy tailing shortly behind like a lost puppy, they walked into the classroom, stopping just short of the door as they looked around for a seat. Their third companion was head down in her desk, her early mornings energy seeming to have evaporated rather quickly, and recognizing her, somehow, they made a beeline to the desks nearby; Elissa in the desk beside her and Chase taking the empty desk in front of Elissa. Their positioning was the opposite of the Act-alikes, as it always was, and yet there was still that close feeling as if not being able to get far enough away from them. It never was safe at any distance. Pushing all that aside though, she playfully patted her exhausted friend's head and smiled.
"Aw, rough day on the job honey?" The blue tinted girl teased lightly, settling back comfortably in her desk as she waited for the other to respond, the boy eyeing them both but also absorbed in whatever had caught his attention out the window. Kim pushed back her brown, purple highlighted, hair and turned her head to look out from behind her crossed arms."Mrs.King is killing us.I feel like my throat was ripped out, stomped on, rubbed with the shop's sandpaper, and put back in upside down." A high-pitched chuckle came from the heavier boy as he brought himself back from outside the window."All you are missing is it being used as a noose for babies and it would have been a perfect story." The two grimaced at the boy's comment but otherwise ignored him."That's why I quit long ago. That, and the music is old, not even good old, just nastily ancient." The once glum girl now smiled in return, but it was brief as it faded to something just over Elissa's shoulder. Curious, she looked back too and snorted."Cute." She said in remark to the girl that clung to the one of the Act-alike's hand, or it was the other way around; never could be sure. "They always are holding hands or something." Elissa raised a brow, looking back again and covering her mouth to stifle a laugh."Jealous?" Kim waved a hand at her friend, half telling her to quit looking, half attempting to wave away her embarrassment. "It's not just them! The hell if I would be jealous of her. It is all couples. Always holding hands, kissing, sitting together, and all that." Elissa scoffed."Leeches." Kim's brows furrowed. "Wha?" Elissa now waved her hand, hers more dismissive than anything."Who wants a leech like that? Girl or guy. Have to work around their schedule and do what they want, never get the time you need to do what you want." "You just want to play that stupid game. That's all you ever do." The brunette leaned over and narrowed her eyes with a wicked smile; catching Elissa off guard. "You can't tell me you wouldn't want a real guy wrapping his arms around you and telling you, you are special? Elissa snorted again at the idea and shook her head, ignoring the heat in her cheeks in hopes that it would disappear quicker that way."I don't even want that virtually. So cliche and kinda disgusting."Her friend seemed baffled, but before she could be interrogated further, the whole lot of them snapped their attention to the teacher in order to keep from being called out. Not that they would get anymore than that brief moment from the three.

Eli had taken note of the sheet the quiet Act-alike had taken out, it was hard to tell what it was, not because of the distance, but the condition of it. She almost felt sorry for the lifeless object, getting out the paper from the last class and having the urge to assure it that the worst that she would do to it, besides scar it with ink, was maybe tear a small piece of it or bend a corner in the time between getting it and turning it in. There was quite a bit she couldn't even begin to guess on, leaving much of the back empty when she had went through it all a few times during the class period. It wasn't a big deal, she got most of it done, the front having maybe two blank spaces at most, and the rest she could do when she got home or she could finish it during lunch in the library. Either way, she was going to use the internet to fill the rest in and would take her a matter of minutes.

The time she had left after having worked on the homework sheet was horrific, it was like the class had just started. She groaned softly, carefully placing her head on her arms so that she would not make any noise or have some sorta pattern on her face from the fabric of her hoodie. What was she to do now? She already planned out her day, she already got her fill of doodling, and the work she got in her last class had to wait. Through the corner of her eyes Kim was actually taking notes and Chase was...Looking over his shoulder she brought her palm to her face and tried to vigorously rub the image out of her head.
The things that kid looks at on his kindle, ugh. There was no chance she was going to ask him if she could use his kindle, not wanting to risk stumbling upon something she didn't want to. Instead, she propped her head up with her arm, head rested in palm and attempted the impossible; paying attention. Of course, it was merely a game for her, just wanting to see how long she could lost without drifting elsewhere; however, elsewhere was an unusual place for her in the middle of school and without there being a movie on, dozing right off with her head still propped up in her hand.

What I Lack In Decorum:
We could skip to lunch after this post or the next since I would assume it will be the same thing for the rest of the morning classes; grumble, groan, finish work, and sleep. Hahah.

He spent the rest of class finishing the sheet before him and napping, only awaking every so often to a tap on his desk from his girl friend as she harassed him to check his messages on his phone as if she couldn’t wait any longer to speak to him even when she was right in front of him. The messages were always bland, asking if he was bored, what he was thinking about, what his plans were after school. He replied to all of them with short responses, always vague but seemingly enough to get her to move on to the next until finally the bell rang. The rest of the morning went much the same until finally –blessedly-lunch came. He followed behind his friends, Amy clinging to him like a tick, to the lunch room where they sat in their normal seats after getting their trays.

He noticed that everyone seemed giddy and were giggling and fidgeting, eyes glancing to the table repeatedly where the less desirable student often sat. Finally he decided to play ball and asked what was going on.
“we put glue on all the chairs at that table, you know the kind that looks like water instead of glue, we’re hoping they don’t notice and sit in it.” One of the boys said before having to restrain his laughter like many of the others at the table. Koen chuckled a bit too, in theory it was a rather dull prank, after all glue takes too long to drink to actually stick them to their chairs, but it would leave a pretty nice stain for the rest of the day on anyone’s rump who sat down and that was a good laugh.

Once the chatter on the matter subsided though they went back to normal talk which unfortunately Koen could not join in on, he didn’t watch sports as he always had his eyes glued to a computer screen, he couldn’t talk about other girls with Amy right beside him-clinging to his arm of course as she chattered away to her girl friends at the table- and he didn’t wish to talk about weekend plans either since he’d rather be online then over someone’s house or out to a movie. It wasn’t like his lunch itself was much better, he didn’t bother making his own and the school food was always on the near inedible side, today he had gotten pizza, if nearly raw dough covered in blended tomatoes and half melted cheese could be truly called pizza, but he was hungry so he forced it down.

Thankfully his mind was not on the food or boring discussions, instead it was on the game as always, maybe he really was addicted to it but who wouldn’t be? He was sure if his friends gave it a try they would definitely enjoy it but at the slightest mention they had all immediately started to tease him. Of course he laughed it off as a cousin who had told him about the game and that he had never played, soon the hilarity of the episode died away and things returned to normal, but now he was always trapped in his room and missing out on time with his friends, but he didn’t like having to lie to them about his interests so he had decided he would only be with them at school. Perhaps he would try and find someone in game to befriend him in the real world, though that was difficult as many players lived far away and he was also not so charismatic online as in person. Then again perhaps… he was brought back to reality by the girl beside him as he smiled and assured her he was feeling fine before he went back to idly making conversation and pretending to fit in to his elite group.

Elissa's nap was surprisingly peaceful, somehow managing to block out all of the chatter around her; teacher and students. It seemed she was a bit more tired than she thought, having been in a solid slumber enough to not hear the bell. It wasn't until her friend's put away their objects of interest that she was awoken; rudely. Chase stood, knowing that his friend was asleep, yet didn't seem to be wanting to do anything to wake her so the other took her own course of actions. Kim gathered up her supplies and maneuvered around her desk to the one the girl still sat in, head rested in hand as she slept. At first she snapped to get the girl's attention then, when that didn't work so well as she hoped, she swiped a hand across to take away the support Elissa had; both watched as the heavy head dropped, snickering all the while.

Luck enough for the victim, her arm was there to cushion the fall. In a brief fight or flight moment, the dark hair girl violently awoke with a few inches between her and her seat. The desk slammed her back down, the horrid sound of metal gritting against tile bringing her back into reality. Wakey Wakey, eggs and bakey! They both laughed. Elissa not particularly as humored. Whatever was left on her desk was cleaned up in one fell swoop, removing herself from the desk properly as she did so.
"I'll remember that." She hissed, already making it up the aisle, her tone was airy and mischievous aside from her usual sharp edge.

Her short nap was just enough to get her through her remaining classes. The morning ones anyway. She slung the neon orange bag over her shoulder and closed her locker, carrying nothing more than the bag and a notebook(pen hooked in the binding). As usual, Chase stood beside her locker, Kim briskly pacing to join the group. Elissa hadn't planned to join them, however, and turned opposite of them. Caught off guard, the other girl bumped shoulders with her and both companions turned quizzically.
The lunch room is this way. He gestured down the hall, looking almost annoyed by the delay and the stupidity of the situation. A hand waved them off in reply. What? You aren't going to lunch with us? The girl frowned."Nah, I'm just going to finish up what I got so I don't have to worry about it later. Ya know, planning ahead." Neither seemed impressed but they did not fuss over the matter, only after getting a few sheets of homework from the night before from her, allowing her to run off to the library with plenty of time to spare; more so once she had the answers to the worksheet filled out.

It was never quiet, floaters crowding around a corner of the library obnoxiously giggling and snickering at whatever they came upon on the internet, but by now she was used to the bit of noise that echoed through the area constantly. What bugged her was the random staff members that would show up and shush them with a hiss, an exasperated groan bubbling from the back of her throat each annoyance that popped in. Why they tried to quiet things down like that was a question that gnawed at the back of her mind. Pinching at the bridge of her nose, the girl began to fiddle around with the computer, finding nothing better to do now than to rummage through old files and search up items spontaneously; however, with no one being on her end of the library, she figured she could get away with a little online check up of her game. The school pretty much blocked anything and everything a student looks up, even what they use for project research, but there were always the select few computers that didn't quite do that and she knew what ones they were. One, of course, was the popular corner of the library where the large group crowded and then there was her's and the one opposite of her. Those were the ones she knew of, she hadn't heard about anymore than those and she didn't doubt there was at least two more with how many computers lined the three walls of the library. With her faulty school computer, Elissa put in the site that she knew by heart, it was a lengthy url but it was her fast track to her file, having only to put in her password before being automatically put into the browser rpg.

Her lips creased in a smile as a message popped up in the chat screen. It was slightly frustrating that she didn't have her headset, the time needed to type a message being too much to spare in game even with how quickly she managed to get it down, but she wasn't going to do anything that involved suspicious movement.

Hey! Sup Cap'n???

Another followed as the other didn't find her response to have come at an adequate time.
Home sick?
Everyone else left me.
That's what I get for playing around with lil kids
LOL
;D

As the messages began to pop up, Elissa pursed her lips and leaned in, vigorously typing to get her own word in.
Trying to hold a conversation by yourself?
Sheesh, how do you expect someone to reply?! LOL.
Nah, just caught some free time.

Watch your tone missy.
Free time huh?
Lunch?

I just couldn't stand a full day without you!

Ahhhh, I thought that was it! ;D
Go eat you goof! You need the energy to lead us tonight!

Baah, I never eat lunch. Sit and listen to everyone complain.
Just grab some gamer food on the way home, should do the trick.

The girl became hypnotized by the three dots that showed the other person was typing, anxious as to what more he had to say, but without allowing a reply, she raced her mouse to the 'x' in the corner of the screen. Her heart raced for a moment, wondering if whoever was approaching had seen. The panic subsided when she twisted her chair slightly to see who was behind her, finding the slightly pouted features of a familiar face."Kim, whoa, what's up?" She inquired, examining the girl before her curiously. Her friend was good at covering up her agony, but she knew her well enough to tell that the girl was nearly in tears. Elissa got up from her seat, still awaiting her friend's reply, though she had already begun guessing, starting with the odd way the girl's books were held behind her. Do you have pants I can wear? Kim asked, her head lowered shamefully. Elissa was still confused but nodded, reaching for her gym bag that was slung across the back of the chair."Why? What happened?"Her head tipped. "It's not personal, is it?"She couldn't help but add it in, not wanting to know if it were the case; however, her friend shook her head. There was something on the seat and I sat in it. I didn't know either until Chase pointed it out in line. The girl sighed. I don't even want to know why he was looking. Such a creep. Both shook their heads, for different reasons but that did not matter. Producing a pair of gym shorts from her bag, Elissa passed it on to Kim, not following her as most did when friends took a trip to the bathroom, rather, she grabbed everything and logged off from the library's computer to head to her next class early with a narrowed glare shot at the Act-alikes(knowing her friend's dismay was their doing); however, she wouldn't be participating since her only pair of shorts were now in use by someone else. She didn't mind though, it was only her first strike and she wasn't a big fan of the basketball unit. Not that she didn't like basketball, just the people that played it. Instead she relaxed herself along a length of bleachers and enjoyed the aggression on the court.

He watched as the girl sat in her seat and as his friends burst into laughter he just sighed and pushed himself up from the table. A few of the others looked curiously to him but he just waved them off saying he had a project to finish for tomorrow and he quickly slipped away, Amy asking to join him but he wasn't already too far for her to want to follow. He went to the library swiftly, nearly running, and then looked around. he saw that one of the girls who should have sat in glue today was instead at the computer and so he found one as well that he assumed hadn’t been given the update as he could slip past all blocks easily.

he went to the forums and looked around, several messages popped up but he ignored them, people wanting him to help them level their characters or complete a quest, he wasn’t interested. Instead he found one of the less used forums and opened it, within was the private rambling of a “legendary” player who had been playing since the beta version of the game. Though this persons threads were nearly always locked by admins not liking the spilling of secrets it was easy enough to find a new thread every day prior to the moderators getting to it.

This one was about a treasure in the game left over from the beta version, it was said to lay within the den of a high level dragon that was said unbeatable by single players, or even some high level parties. This was exactly what he was looking for. He quickly copied all the necessary information and e-mailed it to himself. He then watched as the browser kicked him from the thread as it was locked, he grinned a bit, did they really think they would stop this person from posting again this way? Though s he went to view the information more closely he realized that this could be a wild chase for an imaginary reward, he had followed some of this players claims and though he’d personally never managed to get there first he had heard of others who had gotten these legendary items, but then there were times when no one found anything-or t least they never admitted it. But what fun was a game without a bit of legend and mystery? he leaned back in the chair and went about surfing the rest of the forums seeing if anything else caught his attention, but his mind was on the best way to go about his newest quest.
