*raises hand*
I did. I did it and it was incredibly satisfying. When I realized I could actually destroy the Dark Brotherhood, I was thrilled, as my guilt for having joined in Oblivion was still hanging over my head in Skyrim....

So, everyone seems to love being a psycho murderer, which I don't fully understand.... so did ANYONE not join them?

I could never go against my family.
I am not a pyscho murderer by the way I am a tool to be used by The Dread Father.

My dear captain.... were I to come upon you in the land of Tamriel, I'd have to destroy you.
And mayhaps not every member of the DB are psychos.. but *ahem ahem*
Gogron gro-Bolmog: "And the great thing about killing a target up close and personal is you can talk to 'em before you do it! You know, say something scary! For example, this one time I had a contract to kill a little Nord girl at her birthday party. She asked me if I was the jester! So I said to her."No, I am a messenger of death." You should have seen the look on her face! Ha ha ha ha! Anyway, she won't be seeing age six!"

Antoinetta Marie: "Sometimes, right before a kill, Sithis speaks to me. He whispers in my ear and fills my heart with the joy of suffering and death!"

*aaaaaaaahem*
No.. not psycho at all.

Regardless, I'm against murdering in general >:/ I do, however, mourn the wedding dress and emperor robes that my conscience took from me..

In Oblivion I played a goody-goody as my main. I loved that character, so when Skyrim was released, I recreated her for that game. But something happened to her. She was turned into a vampire, and I thought I'd give that a try. And I liked it. Then I gave the Dark Brotherhood a try. And realized that my character's vampirism had gone to her head and she had become completely evil. She ended up the leader of the Brotherhood in Skyrim. She has only killed by contract, but my once-pure elf now does all kinds of terrible things, like breaking and entering, stealing from the jarls, pickpocketing. For shame! I feel like a terrible person for letting it happen to her. The dark side was just so addictive!

But I compensated by making a goody-goody male elf. He took the Brotherhood out in his game. That was also a satisfying quest. =)

My first character killed the Dark Brotherhood. But I noticed the one vampire who looks like a kid wasn't there (of course, you can't kill kids in Skyrim without a mod). I'm not sure if anyone else was missing.

With another character, I joined them. I like to have different characters to do what one character cannot.

I've wondered how the writers would handle these two quests, since Elder Scrolls VI would have to explain what happened in the previous game. But then I realized, no matter which side you choose, the result is pretty much the same. You still kill Grelod, and whether you kill them or not, most of the Dark Brotherhood ends up dead anyway.

I wouldn't dream of it. If nothing else, I can always count on the Brotherhood. They are my family, my friends, my employers, my teachers, my community, the only people I could count on in times of crisis...at least...the old Brotherhood from Oblivion was. I never fully trusted the new, tenet-less Brotherhood as much as the old one, but they were still all that which I listed.

Call me a murderer if you will, but from the day I met Lucien in the third era, my loyalties, my sense of belonging, rested with him, with the Brotherhood. It was a bond forged in blood, and there has never been another loyalty strong enough to break that single, potent, enduring affection.

...Aaaand now I can't tell if it's myself or Eldanril speaking.

The same happened to me. My character spent a very long time in that shack, trying to decide whether to kill one of the captives or the member of the Dark Brotherhood. In the end, it was so clearly the Khajiit, and he so clearly needed to die, that the deed was done, and the invitation extended. Once picking up the book which described Sithis, however, my character did what my characters always do... follow the will of the divines, no matter which divine is talking.

I did not like it until the end. After it was said and done, the terrible things that Sithis demanded finally made a sort of sense. There was a strange peace in them. I am still not fond of torture, but there is a numbness it brings that is close to the perfection of the void.

I took them out.
I at first went with them but found that I could not handle, reverted to previews save and decapitated them. smile

I joined em. I really had no attached feelings to killing anyone. I did finish the story line and i'm only a level 15 right now. Though when I had found out that Astrid betrayed me I actually felt sad for her. So I took out my vengeance on the emperor and the rest of the agents. Now just got to figure out which faction I want to join next. Probably the Thieves guild since i'm a big time thief. xD hahaha

Honestly, I am not a fan of the Dark Brotherhood, I was not a huge fan of them in Oblivion. I could RP the one in Oblivion fine but not in Skryim, I take advantage of the option to slay them all. Besides kinda fits my current characters background.
