The less dedicated fans had already fled, chased away by lightening skies and steady rain. Hazzan Octbre, however, remained resolutely at the stage door, umbrella clenched in one hand and playbill in the other, fluffy teal quill between her teeth. She'd been aching to see this production of In Which: An Exiled Magical Duke Exacts Revenge on Stranded Sailors and His Daughter Falls In Love With The Shipwrecked Prince practically since it was announced, and hadn't been disappointed at all! In fact, she thought it might have been even better than she'd expected it to be!
"Prospo Willem is a god among trolls," she sighed, leaning against the barricade between the stage door and the street. She wasn't alone at the stage door, but the fact that she'd lingered so long made Hazzan feel a swell of pride in her chest. She was the ultimate fan!
Glancing around, she spotted one other troll standing in the gloom. "Did you like the play?" she asked, and immediately thought it was a dumb question. Of course he'd liked the play. Everyone must have liked the play - need she restate the feeling that Prospo Willem was a god among trolls? The actor who played the magical duke had kept Hazzan on the edge of her seat, the thought of actually meeting him had her jittery all over - and no one in their right mind would stand out here in the rain unless they felt the same!
Despite having not even formally met this other troll at the stage door, Hazzan felt an immediate connection to them over their clear and apparent mutual love of Prospo Willem. "I mean," she said, finally taking the quill out of her mouth, "It was amazing." Prospo Willem was her hero. Troll Shakespeare was her Idol. The end.

The rain never bothered Thalia much. After all, the troll spent most of his time living underwater, so what exactly would a few drops of rain do to him? The trolls scared off by such were definitely not dedicated fans like himself! Oh no, not worthy of a signature at all. Thalia, however, was most definitely worth a signature-- no, three signatures. That's just how wonderful he was.
Another troll remained; a chubby girl clutching an umbrella eagerly awaited Prospo Willem. She made a comment about Prospo Willem's godliness and Thalia thought that yes, he was quite the actor. Nothing compared to Troll Patrick Stewart of course! But a good actor, nonetheless.
"Did you like the play?" she chimed.
"Of course I liked the play!" Thalia replied almost indignantly. What kind of question was that, anyway? Would he really be waiting outside like this if it wasn't good? Whatever the case...
She really seemed to want to strike up conversation, and that was not necessarily a bad thing. Thalia really did enjoy talking about acting and the theatre and here someone was, excited to talk about it. He couldn't be so rude to her! This was an opportunity to make friends!
"It really was amazing!" Thalia nodded and smiled, hands kept in his pockets. He didn't want to be too emotive; he knew how easily excited he could get about these sorts of things. "The second act? A beautiful crescendo to the crashing climax! Artfully put together and beautifully executed!" He sighed. "Just beautiful." Thalia was afraid he was about to get carried away anyway.

Hazzan nodded eagerly, smiling with all her teeth at the purple-blood's enthusiastic response. Hurray! Another fan! "It was just," she sighed wistfully, words failing her. She tried again: "It was just so- so- wow." Which was horribly inarticulate and she would just have to keep trying to capture with words the full majesty of what she'd just seen.
"What you said," Hazzan finally agreed, clutching her program to her chest. Soon, soon, she would possess the signature of her ultimate idol! Perhaps she could divine just a tiny bit of his mastery of the spoken word from the way he made his letters. Which was, she knew, perhaps pushing things just a bit far but Optimism! was a thing, right?
"I wish I could write like he does," she said, finding words but maybe not the right ones. Such a personal desire to admit to someone she'd only just met - and a highblood at that! (Never mind that she ran in some pretty high circles herself, because she also FLARPed with a pyrotechnic redblood.) "He's got such a mind for plot and dialogue! And the twists! The turns! The reveals! The dramatic irony!"
Big words, coming from one so young.
Anyway.
"Have you seen any of his other plays?" Hazzan asked, eager to bond with another thespian. Her own friends were great, but their appreciation for the arts was... lacking. "I enjoyed Two Warring Families Declare a Truce After Their Children Kill Themselves, or, Why Young Love Is Dumb, but I think my favorite of all time would have to be, Four Young Highbloods Go Into the Woods Where They Are Drugged by Faeries and Shenanigans Ensue."Roadkill Oh my god, oh my god, I am literally the worst, oh my god, I am so sorry, oh my god.
