"How could you?"
Ami turned to see a treat not unlike herself staring back at her. She examined it, looking at the strange cloud that surrounded it, filling the area with a vapor. An angry one. "What'd I do?" she asked boredly. Was this another minipet come to annoy her? They all seemed to like doing that. She let out a grumpy breath of air. She was tired, and wanted to go home. No more minipets.
"Why don't you wan-"
Ami's fist was buried in the treat's face.

"How dare y-y-y-you!" the treat scoffed, its skin seeming to glitch and then come back into place.
"Easily," Ami responded dejectedly. She wasn't going to humor some silly treat for very long, she didn't want to. Didn't have the energy to. "Can we move this along?"

Ami was tired. Incredibly tired. So tired that she was willing to negotiate a truce, leave these stupid minipets alone and leave. She just wanted to go sleep in bed- that sounded nice right now. Really nice.
"Hey why are we fighting? Why don't we just ... I dunno shake on it, and I'll leave you alone?" she tried to reason. Bad move on her part.

"Not like everyone else? What happened to you?" she asked, genuinely curious. Was it bad that she was identifying with this minipet? Probably. She'd never once felt sympathy for a creature of halloween.
As far as Ami was concerned, halloween creatures were for crushing. They were bugs, meant to be wiped off the windshield of life.
So why did she feel bad for this one? As they scratched at each other, Ami couldn't help but feel symapthy. Maybe it was just because it looked like her. She knew it was fake- KNEW it wasn't real, and yet ...Quote: Anti-Ami HP: 13 ATK: + 2 DMG: 5

It didn't keep her from clawing and scratching though- not by a long shot. Ami was awkward and uncomfortable with this body, but she'd gotten used to at least throwing a punch. Now if she could just figure out the legs.
The anti-Ami threw her back, slamming her up against a wall where she slid down. "Don't you get it? I just want to be like you!" the treat wailed, over and over again. "I want you to be happy with my shards. Can't you just love me?" it whined.
Ami sighed. "Slamming me up against a wall doesn't help. I don't want your damn shards." The treat seemed to wail even louder.
"Think how powerful you could be! Think of all the stuff I could get you!" the treat attempted to bargain. "One day ... you could maybe even ... love me?" It had big wide eyes that made Ami want to hit something. Preferably the treat's face.

Ami bit back her tongue. Talking with it just made it scream louder. Somewhere in the back of her mind, it bothered her. Why did this sound like some sappy version of the way she actually felt?

Ami was panting now, chest heaving from the effort. She was exhausted the moment she'd stepped through the portal, and things hadn't improved while she'd been in it. therew asn't a single moment to sleep.

"I can't leave the shards, and neither can you!" the treat said, pulling one out of nowhere. "C'mon, don't you want one?"

Ami's patience was wearing thin. She didn't know how much longer she could last between the banging in her head and the screeching of the treat. The slaps to the side of her face and her squishy round stomach weren't helping either.

"Abloobloobloo," the treat moaned, "I'm doing to die alone and ugly."
"I take offense to that," she said weakly, trying to make a joke in her direness. She could tell this was it. The treat was going to off her. She'd be dead, a few people would throw some flowers on her grave, and it'd be forgotten. She'd never made a big impact, not on anyone. Not on Adam, clearly. Wilson's mind was too clouded with Em. Tori had her own skeletons in the closet. Marcus maybe, but their relationship had never been deep.
Come to think of it, she hadn't done a single thing since getting to Deus. No accomplishments. No ever-lasting friends. Her way out wasn't a way out at all.
Quite frankly, it pissed her off.
"Just do it already," she grunted.
"You mean-"
"Yeah, just do it. Whatever." The treat dug into her scalp, and she felt the nothingness of death.
No it wasn't quite death. A burst of light split her vision, the area growing thin and unreadable. It was the void zone- but it wasn't. A strange battle took place in front of her. One with a staff, another a sword. She knew these figures ... no, no she didn't. It was like deja vu, another lifetime calling out to her. All she could remember was the pulsating power, and then reality snapped back in.
She was back in her corner of the life labs, her familiar corner. She didn't say anything, didn't move. Just shrugged her head down on the table, and went to sleep.Quote: Anti-Ami HP: 1 ATK: + 2 DMG: 3
