Valkyrie didn't wear her armor that day as she traced her way through the inner harpy territory. She always felt incredibly light and free when she wasn't wearing her massive metal helm. At times like this when the possibility of skinwalker attack was close to zero, she could let herself be more relaxed. She passed through groups of her sisters without saying a word. Some of them eyed her warily. Her sharp teeth and feral demeanor were enough to keep many at a distance.
The place she was headed to was not one that was highly frequented by her other Flockmates. She wanted to see the mysterious Svanna, a mare of renown for her strange abilities. Valkyrie had heard a friend of her mother talking about how Svanna could even tell you about the past, or predict the future. Today, Valkyrie was determined to get some answers. There were questions that burned within her, ones that she didn't dare ask of her mother or mentor. She wanted to know of the one whose terror had brought her into being: Her father.

Svanna stood before a large carved bowl, intricate yet sturdy, the inside lined with the pearly insides of an abalone shell from the distant oceans. This was where she meditated, this was where she practiced her communions with the Great Mother away from public ceremonies, and this was where her sisters came to her to know things. She always trusted the spirits to lay the bones right upon the floor and the leaves to settle right in the bowl. It was not simply a hobby as her blood sisters had first thought, she truly believed that (for the most part) she could read things about a souls past and perhaps, future, though she was a far cry from being an Oracle. Though she was mostly blind due to her condition, it seemed to help her sense what was around her even more acutely. The rosy stones about her neck were a comforting weight, they represented her clarity and openness to that which could not be seen. She had stood before the bowl for a good few minutes, humming and pouring water from a hollowed shoot like plant into it, putting pinches of bitter leaves in, making sure to wash her muzzle of any traces.
She was about to turn to get something else when she paused, turning her head in one fluid motion, her ears pricked forward. Though she could not really see too terribly far she could hear things better than most, her coral pink eyes stared at the entrance of her commune cave....She was seldom wrong about things she heard, and the sound of claws scraping on rock was definitely one she recognized. Sometimes she was able to tell who it was just by the sounds they made or the accessories they wore, sometimes they adorned themselves with bells or flowery scents, some wore anklets that chimed together as they walked. This one was simply the sound of claws, determined steps for a sister...
She turned fully to welcome her soon to be visitor to her cave.

Valkyrie hesitated only slightly at the mouth of the cave. She didn't like going into enclosed spaces. In the case of a fight, a cave was just about the worst place to be. She didn't let that stall her for long. Instincts were only useful so long as they activated at the appropriate time. She had no reason to suspect potential harm now.
She hadn't gone far into the cave when her glowing eyes managed to catch sight of a pale white form. Ahead of her was Svanna. Unlike the well-muscled Valkyrie, Svanna was almost ethereal in her grace. from her snowy feathers to her pale pink feet, she looked like an apparition out of a fairytale.
"... May I enter?" Valkyrie's voice was just as gruff as her body. It had a note of a tiger's growl in it, yet another gift from her father.

Svanna smiled as the voice reached her ears, gruff though it was, it was polite, asking if she could enter rather than simply doing so. " Yes sister, you are most welcome to come into my cave." She responded simply, dipping her head politely, she could only see a faint outline of the mare at this distance, a dusty blueish purple, and what looked to be stripes...very interesting for a harpy.
"I apologize for not recognizing you sister, i have not been out of the deeper caves for very long, and still have many to meet. My eyesight is not very good, and my ears tell me that you lack any ornaments I might have recognized." She nodded " But please, come, stand here by my bowl, I was just preparing to try and contact the spirits, but that can of course wait if one of my sisters has need of me. " I am called Svanna, and you? What is your given name sister?"
