It had been a nice day, nothing too hot or too cold, which is exactly why Pepita had spent most of it casually strolling the streets. Daisy District might have been just a residential area, but honestly it had a lot to offer. Unless of course, you wanted something else besides house after house after house after house. After a while of walking along the sidewalks, Pepita got tired of the foggy building sight and had headed out to somewhere else. Although she couldn't see perfectly, she used the sun's location in the sky as a sort of clock. This way she could get an idea of what time it was and be able to be home before dark struck. That was the plan, just like all others.

Instead of sticking to Daisy District, she felt a rumble in her tummy and decided that it might be an appropriate idea to go on over to Antoine District and obtain some substance for her hunger. Since that was the food district, she would have many choices on what exactly to eat. The walk was going to take some time, so Pepita took those moments to think of what she really wanted. Usually she could tell the food she was thinking of was what she truly wanted to eat by how her body reacted to the though.

Hmmm, barbecue? Peanut satay? Hamburger? Hot dogs? Fried potatoes? Lettuce Wraps? This was the normal way to tell, just repeat a bunch of different food options. Sometimes it took a while but this walk wasn't going to be short. It would probably be in her best interest to head toward the buses, that would be the easiest route. Still, she continued with the food options in her head as she walked, her can neatly bent up and tucked under her arm at the moment. Frog legs? Orange chicken? Pineapple curry? Upon saying the last one, her stomach started growling. Which turned out was the sign she had been looking for. "Guess I'm having Pineapple curry. That does sound really good right now." She normally talked to herself in her head but sometimes to make a point stick she would say it out loud.

Pepita made it to the buses easily and headed off toward Antoine District. The ride itself was nice and smooth, she sat alone at the front of the bus to keep from being stuck next to some weird people. Social interactions, now those were some weird things for her.

The bus made several stops and the sun was slowly setting in the sky. It had actually taken longer to get to the next district then Pepita originally thought. No matter, she should be able to find the food vendor pretty easily. If the smell didn't give it to her, his natural accent would. Upon getting off the bus, she removed her cane from under her arm and unfolded it. By listening to the metal she made sure each part snapped into place and was secure. The end of the cane touched the floor and Pepita headed off towards the smell of the cart vendors. The sun was setting rather qucikly, obviously it was much later than she had realized.

After getting pretty far into Antione district, she decided to stop and go back home it was getting too dark for her to see and it felt rather creepy out alone. This was rather disappointing since she was still rather hungry but the vendors would probably close down soon anyway.

With a sigh she turned herself around and headed back towards the buses. Her can moved across the ground in front of her, making sure the path was clear and she wasn't about to collide with something or someone. Up ahead was a rather large crack in the sidewalk, one that the district had been meant to fix but hadn't found the time yet, well Pepita's cane found it. The tip of the cane poked into the crack and lodged itself, refusing to slide to the side. This small little action wasn't what she was expecting and instead of moving the cane, it flipped out of her hands and hit the floor, bouncing around in front of her. "Oh no!" Her hands reached for it, grabbing at the empty air in front of her.

The sun was already hiding behind the horizon and a few rays peaked out into the night sky. Pepita couldn't see a thing now. Needing to find her walking cane to continue her route home, she dropped down onto her hands and knees and started feeling around on the ground below. It had to be here somewhere!

Dusk was already approaching by the time Pan was done with her grocery shopping. It had been a most fruitful day for the fourteen-year-old, according to her standards. Club meeting in the morning, followed by an afternoon of exploration in the wild jungles of Borneo (a park in Antoine) with her trusty sidekick Hermes Longarrow (an owl). They adjourned for high tea and Bothering Louis in the late afternoon before setting out to do some quality grocery shopping.

All in all, it had been a good day, and Pan was very satisfied as she trooped homeward. two hands carrying bags laden with generous amounts of groceries while a minute owl snoozed on her shoulder.

She was daydreaming about what to cook for dinner tonight when she noticed a peculiar sight in front of her. There was a girl (?), tap tapping away at the street in front of her with a stick. Pedestrians walking on the path gave her a fairly wide berth as she traipsed ahead. Pan tilted her head in curiousity. Was she playing a game? It didn't look like much fun.

And then the girl's stick flew out of her hands, somehow, and it landed a fairly good distance away. It wasn't until she went on her hands and knees to feel across the ground that Pan realized it wasn't a game.

"Here, I'll get it!" she said most cheerfully as she shifted her shopping to one hand and retrieved the stick from the sidewalk. She knelt down in front of the girl, briefly took in her dark features, blonde hair, very pale green eyes... and then remembered to press the stick into the girl's hands.

"Here's your stick," she chirped. And out of concern for the lost looking soul, she added, "Are you alright? Do you need help getting somewhere?"

Pepita had heard a voice call out as she searched the sidewalk in front of her. Honestly she was quite relieved about hearing someone come help her otherwise she probably would be here forever just trying to find her walking cane. That would have been dreadful, so this was absolutely welcomed.

Leaning back onto her legs, she sat on the ground until she felt something metal touch her hand. Gripping around the object she could tell it was her walking cane and a small smile fell across her lips. This was a huge relief for her and she started to stand up. Upon getting up, she fixed the cane in her hand and turned a bit to where she believed the girl to be because of her voice.

"Thank you so much." Pepita bowed her head slightly and then nodded at the other girl's question. "I'm alright, just a small accident." That last part, did she need help getting somewhere, well that was a tricky question. Obviously Pepita needed some help, she couldn't see where she was and wasn't actually sure what street she was on but asking for this help would be a burden on this other girl. It was best she just ask what street she was on and move on and let this helpful hero go on her way. "It got so dark quickly that I can't really see any longer, do you think you could tell me what street I'm on? " Yes, that would be enough.

Hopefully she was on the right street, it had been getting rather dark quickly and instead of fully paying attention to the streets she as a bit absent minded and worrying about the fact that she was slowly loosing the light and ability to actually see in her other eye. It was one of those days, no food, no light, and probably lost. Great.

"You're welcome!" the blonde girl piped cheerfully as she stood up. What street though... Pan looked left and right, but it was getting dark and she could barely see the street sign that was located so far away.

"Well, we're definitely somewhere in Antoine..." she trailed off most unhelpfully as she squinted into the darkness. The streetlights were starting light up and somewhere in the distance, a dog barked.

"But um, I'm not sure what street this is," Pan finally admitted sheepishly while she dithered in front of the blind girl. She knew her way home, and it was pretty much walking distance, but she was loathe to leave this poor girl here on her own, completely in the dark, literally and figuratively speaking. Perhaps she could help her home first? Surely her grandfather wouldn't mind if she was home a little later than usual.

"I can do better than just tell the street name," she quipped cheerfully, and hefted her shopping from the ground. "Where do you stay? How are you going to get back?" she pressed on like an interrogator.

It was hard for Pepita to see any discernible features or colors on the girl in front of her so she assumed she wasn't a crazy killer type person who was just waiting around for small children to get lost so she could scoop them up, cook them, and enjoy a nice meal. Obviously that was just the fairy tales talking but it was always a possibility.

"Ummm.." Pepita started after the other girl admitted to not really knowing where they were. This was going to be an awkward situation then. "Well I live in Daisy District and I planned to just walk home. I don't really have any other way." The bus would have been a good choice, maybe there was one around somewhere. Pepita did have some change on her and she could pay for this other girl to get on too if she wanted. "Maybe there is a bus station near by. I have some money for that." Those things did take money right or would she need a bus pass? Oh these normal society things were so obnoxious. Why did it have to be this way? She just wanted to get home so her mom would cook for her. That would be great at this moment. Also, if this girl could get her to Daisy District Pepita could easily get to her own house from there. There had been many days she just wondered around in that area, mapping out the locations of certain 'landmarks' in her head and preparing herself for if she was ever stuck out at night. Too bad she hadn't done anything like that with the food district, it was her second favorite place.

That reminded Pepita, she had no idea what the name of the girl was. "Oh! I'm Pepita by the way." She help out her free hand, not positive of the direction to stick it in, but she suspected it was the appropriate area.

Daisy District! Pan opened her mouth to blurt something along the lines of "I know where that place is!", and then stopped short when she realized she didn't actually know HOW to get there. Criminey.

"Oh..." she murmured, a little crestfallen that she wasn't going to much help to this poor girl. Hermes twittered grumpily from a tree off the sidewalk. Pan ignored him.

And then the girl mentioned bus stations. Pan brightened up considerably at the thought that she would be of some help after all. Finding a bus stop shouldn't be too hard! She knew exactly where the nearest one was too.

"Oh! I'm Pepita by the way."

"Pepita..." Pan rolled the name around her tongue, it sounded light... and springy, like pepper!

"I'm Pan! And I'd introduce you to Hermes but he's off moping in a tree somewhere," she replied cheerfully, and hopped to her left to shake Pepita's hand, which was stuck about 20 degrees off course. "It's very nice to meet you Pepita. And now I need to get you home! Here, follow me."

And without further ado, Pan held on to the girl's hand and began to lead her down the street, taking care to avoid strange obstacles and uneven pavement tiles. It was a rather forward thing to do but Pan was just... Pan, and it was getting rather dark and Pepita needed to get home!

"It's awfully brave of you to travel alone," the blonde girl mused as she walked hand in hand with Pepita. The bus stop wasn't too far now...

"What business did you have in Antoine?"
