Wandering aimlessly along the sidewalks of New Hemisect, Taquin Ageres had nothing to do. He was heading home to his hiveblock to check on his lusus early tonight because he could think of nothing else he would rather occupy his time with. He didn't spend enough time with Poodle-dad anyway. His fuzzy woofbeast would be happy to see him home so soon. But what would they do together? What does a lusus generally do with their troll for fun? When did they ever begin the tradition of grub-sitting, anyhow? Once again, his thoughts began to buzz around in his cranial globe searching for the nectar of knowledge. He would have to take a side trip before returning home.

Taquin strutted to the nearest library, the only library, in the city. It was a shame that the government didn't endorse the great art of literature as much as it could. It was such a valuable asset for education and the hatching of new, progressive ideas. At least this lone establishment held what he needed. Usually. He swung the entrance door open and stepped into the jungle of bookshelves, searching for the informative section.

The library in New Hemisect was by far larger than any book themed shop Vremea had ever encountered. She may have worked there, but she still wasn't accustomed to the vast amount of space the library had. Having arrived there earlier than usual, Vremea took the few minutes of extra time to pace through the rows of different worlds. The petite yellowblood traced the shelves of the towering bookcases with a finger, soon after taking it off to find a thin layer of dust on her finger. She pursed her lips— wasn't the other troll on the shift at least trying to take care of this library? The nerve of them!  In Chittentown, she'd always care to check if any of the bookshelves or books had any dust— but she couldn't here. This library was simply too large. She (uncomfortably) took out a napkin from her side bag with her unhealthy hand— her arm and her leg were still somewhat injured from... before... She still felt somewhat sore from all the bruises, so she had to take care not to strain or hurt any part of her body too much.

Vremea passed by a row and stopped, smiling to herself and turning around, pulling out a few books from the shelves of the smallest, but, her favorite place in the library— the romance section. She had, obviously, done some research on the books before checking them out— who wouldn't? Summaries were there to read, not ignore! —and knew exactly which books to take out, to her convenience. Balancing 3 somewhat moderate sized books on her bruised hand and 2 large books on her healthy hand, the yellowblood reached the counter before the other trolls shift was up, but they eagerly left.

She glared at the trolls back before they left.  Lazy idiot.

Vremea went around the desk, placing the books on the counter and sitting behind it with a small and relaxed exhale. Finally, somewhere familiar. Taking one of the books from the stack, she then began to read. She flipped through the pages eagerly, getting absorbed in the contents of the book, her bangs covering her face. Some trolls left, some checked out books, some were still in the library. Vremea tried to pay no attention to the opening and closing of the door— focusing only on her book. If anyone needed her help, they just needed to tap her shoulder. Simple as that.

There weren't many people in this vast library, Taquin discovered as he paced back and forth among the shelves of books. At least, not that he'd encountered. Maybe one or two. That suited him just fine for now; it was good to be somewhere quiet. He came to the end of his row and turned into the next. It was so still and soundless that his footsteps sounded much too loud for someone who spent their nights sneaking around. It was upsetting that more trolls didn't take advantage of a valuable resource such as this. If one really wanted to learn something in this city, one had to travel outside their schoolfeeding institutions.

His eye finally caught sight of what he was looking for. He turned towards the shelf and pulled out a few books that looked close to promising: encyclopedias, research reports, theories. He wasn't quite satisfied yet, many of these types of documentation turned out to be snort-beastswash. Eventually he found some biographies and novels, which may be dramatized or fictional, but it was the interpretation that really mattered in this case. With enough books finally piled in his arms, Taquin walked towards the sitting area. He passed by the checkout desk on his way there and noted that the troll occupying it was deep into a book herself. Now, she's got the right idea, he thought approvingly. He set himself down on a plushy seat, rested his feet up on the little table in front of him, and opened the top book on his stack.

Tonight had been an absolute success in Frossa's sunken eyes- her belly was full of delicious things and bags were stuffed to the brim with goodies to bring home and not share with Hippodad. What else could she possibly ever need?

Well, Hazzan had needed some book for their next FLARP session; something about a hard to come by campaign book she had been on a waiting list for. Frossa really hadn't paid too much attention to her chubbier friend blabbing on about the release, clouding was far too bothersome for the highblood to bother giving it much of a second glance. All she needed to know was that as long as Hazzan got her hands on that book, she would provide awesome fun times. Still, the trip to New Hemisect was a bit out of the way and Frossa hadn't been particularly interested in making the trip alone (Hazzan's lusus was being an overprotective butt). That's where the third in their little FLARP trio stepped in- Alifax was more than happy to tag along with the highblood. Or to be more specific, he was the one that actually volunteered to go get the book- Frossa just jumped at the opportunity to have someone accompany her to the big city. She was always up for a trip to NHC, (the food was glorious there and something exciting was always happening!), but the journey was just too long and dull to make alone too often; it seemed like Frossa had been there an awfully lot lately on errands. And so a deal was struck; the two would meet up and head the New Hemisect together, have a grand meal, pick up Hazzan's book and then call it a night.

At least one of the duo had eaten their fill at a rather swanky restaurant, (her choice naturally), and they were now on their way to the library. "Alifax, do you remember what the book is called?" Frossa questioned, the name having slipped from her mind. "I have it written down somewhere..." She mumbled, rummaging through her pockets for the scrap of paper she had scrawled on as the entered the main lobby of the library.

(mind if we set it a little later in the night? o vo pope and i had planned that they ate before coming to the library at 1:30 seems a bit early OTL)

Alifax's gaunt belly was considerably less full (except of water; he'd had plenty of that, and a few bites of the commercial consumption structure's complimentary dry dough sticks, which had an interesting texture but ultimately could not compare to rich, juicy, flame-roasted beast meat) and his cloth merchandise containers full of frivolous and colorful commodified matter actually belonged to Frossa. That didn't mean he considered the night less of a success: it was culminating in one of his favorite places. A library.

(That, and Frossa had paid for a second train ticket for him without a second thought, which meant he didn't have to spend all night walking to New Hemisect City.)

Alifax liked it when Hazzan stuck to the campaign books; she probably knew that he did (while her own scenarios tended to be more cognitively challenging, the books' tended to focus on experience and leveling at a pace Alifax was far more comfortable with - that was, a quicker one. He'd always preferred doing the bare minimum of combat to level, while Hazzan and sometimes Frossa wanted character development first. As far as Alifax was concerned, combat experience was character development.), and he'd been thrilled to volunteer to obtain it for her. Also, it'd mean he got his claws on it first, which also might mean he'd get a peek at the monsters he'd get to battle.

But he'd sworn not to look at the actual plot of the campaign, which - ah, of course Frossa had forgotten the title. It wasn't too surprising: she left all the clouding to Hazzan, as Alifax did, and mainly cared about being a princess thing who waved a ribbon around. Or something. It made her sound a lot less accomplished than she was, actually - his fellow FLARPer was actually a troll he was proud to fight alongside.

But that was him getting distracted: what was the title? It wasn't hard to remember at all - "Midmorning: The Transmutilators' Sojourn, highblood," he answered mildly, watching her look through her pockets. Oh, but he'd forgetten how big this place was!
