Ulmuka was loitering. It wasn't odd for him. When he wasn't in class or wasn't hunting he was usually just creeping around the halls staring at things. Thankfully with a growing circle of friends he's been able to focus that attention more directly.
His current need to journey into adulthood, controlling his own future, had led the strix to shuffling around outside the Counselor's office. There were things posted, flyers and ads to read, but Muka wasn't sure exactly what he was looking for and nothing seemed to catch his immediate interest.
The finely dressed owl-boil clacked his teeth in thought, taloned hands drumming lightly on the slightest bulge of a belly he seemed to be developing.

Between being forced to read a book called Eat, Prey, Love and doing gopher work, Hel was seriously reconsidering her mentoring choice at times. But then she thought about that purple glove that sat nicely tucked into her apron, and she knew that it was probably worth it. Probably. But still. Hel would b***h the entire way about doing gopher work and being forced to read a book (even if Riyo did end up reading it out loud to her).
The reaper just got done dropping off some boxes of plain paper into the office and was coming out into the hall when she nearly ran into a student out there. The ghoul stopped short, swaying a bit as she stared. Hmm…this student seemed…familiar…
Hel’s brows furrowed. She recalled a student like this around Christmastival…who was drastically thinner and had a smooth face and…ah! Yes. He played the uncle in the play…she couldn’t remember his name exactly, since they were never formally introduced, but she recognized him. “…Ah, hello there, friend!” She greeted regardless. “…Is there something you need assistance with?”

Muka's head turned though his body stayed still, hands still tapping his stomach. His gold eyes were unblinking saucers and his grin, as always, beamed viciously at the ghoul. Up close, he seemed to make soft cooing noises like a bird and his words lapsed into soft hoots. Sometimes he was almost giggling to himself. "Hellooo!"
He recognized her face from crowds, the war island and passing in the prom. Ever the gentlemonster, his body turned to it's proper angle and he snatched up her hand, teeth snapping gently a hair above the skin. "My name is Ulmuka! To most just Muka."
As quick as it had been done, he'd released her and was back with an angled glance to the postings on the wall. "I suppose we all need assistance with something at any given moment, but right now I am just looking." He giggled.
The strix tilted his head to her. "Are you in counseling?" She was coming out of the counselor's office, after all.

The reaper raised a brow at that grin. Not that she felt alarmed…she just couldn’t help but wonder what this boil was thinking for that grin to be so wide and face splitting. Or maybe he didn’t need a reason to grin that wide. Hel didn’t need a reason sometimes…just being outside and on the move made her face split at times.
Hel blinked in surprise though, as her hand was suddenly snapped away from her and then ‘kissed’ in greeting. Oh hey…this boil had some rather forward moves.
Hel approved.
The gesture brought a bit of a grin to the ghoul’s lips as her hand now moved to rest on her hip. “Alright…Muka…it is a pleasure to meet you…I am called Hel.” She paused, tilting her head at his words. Fair enough. “Just looking…huh? What are you looking at…for?” She shook her head at his question. “Oh, no, I was just running some errands for the counselor…he is my mentor.”

"A pleasure MIss Hel!" He giggled, pleased with the quick and easy introduction. He bowed half way, the manners perfectly matching his higher class style. It was sometimes odd to see a monster with impeccable manners.
"Oh I am not sure really." He scratched his fuzzy chin and giggled. "I've just come back for my second term and simultaenously have begun to make the critical social steps for my journey into adulthood." He seemed to be pondering, his lips twitching a bit. He'd just sort of learned how to use lips properly in the last month or so. They sometimes were a confusion to him. His analysis of his own teenage life was rather clinical, scientific almost.
"We are here in school to find our path, yes? I do not see much that, hrmmm," his throat seemed to tremble with a hoot. "catches my eye."

The reaper made a face as he called her ‘miss’. Ugh. It was like dealing with Yin and his desire to call her ‘Lady’. The ghoul waved a hand at him dismissively. “ No, no…no miss…just call me Hel, ya?” Admittedly, it was rather odd to see such a…classy monster…and if the reaper thought he talked kind of funny too…so prim and proper. Flowery language. Her brows were furrowed as she took a moment to think about what he was asking, and then the light bulb went off. “ Oh! I understand. You are at a loss for a career path…?” She reached up to rub the back of her neck, glancing back into Hyde’s office. Help guide students he said. You are the apprentice to a proud and noble line he seemed to say. Pffft. Well…Hel did think she could have done his job better than him on any given day…and she certainly wouldn’t run from students either! With that thought in mind, the ghoul grinned a bit, smacking a fist into an open palm. “ Well…maybe I can be of assistance!” She paused. “… What kind of paths do you find enjoyable, friend? What do you like doing now, that you would like to keep on doing in the future?”

"Okay.. Hel." Muka was amenable. He was swiftly learning that most students didn't need the titles of respect that he was required to use at home.
He tilted his head oddly at her, cooing slightly in thought. "Well I don't have an idea. I'm.. hmm.. well Trick or Treater doesn't seem to be my calling and neither does Bogeyman." Which seemed to be the two most common options.
Muka suddenly erupted with giggles. "It just dawned on me that I do not even know my own father's profession!"

Well, at least it wasn’t like twisting Muka’s arm to get him to call her just Hel. Thank goodness. Hel tilted her head, the valkyrie displaying an uncommon sort of patience as she listened. The ghoul nodded her head. “Understandable. Those two paths are not for everyone, after all.”
The reaper did look perplexed though once Muka giggled and admitted to not knowing his father’s profession. How could…someone not know what their father did? That was mind boggling to the ghoul. “…Well…what your father does is not important, anyways.” She oh so boldly dismissed. “This is about you, and your future…hmm.” She hummed for a moment. “Well…let us start with this…what are some activities you take pleasure in now?”

"Hrmm.." He stroked the beginnings of a beard and a sound of thought reverberated from his throat, tremulous and avian. "I like to eat. And hunt." He was checking them off on his fingers. "And shop." There was a giggle. "Always shopping. Oh and time with my ghoulfriend."
Did his grin just get a bit more devilish than usual? No Muka.. those activities usually didn't bring in a paycheck.

Eat and hunter…surely there was a job that catered to that… The ghoul then raised a brow as he said he liked to shop, and then the brow rose even higher when he mentioned spending time with his ghoulfriend. Heh. She knew where that was going. “ Hmmmmmmm…” Hel hummed thoughtfully, thinking, thinking, and thinking, until… “ AH HA!” She cried, snapping her fingers and then pointed at Muka excitedly. “ I got some ideas! A mini-pet infestation exterminator!” That one was her favorite. “… But then I suppose you could always ah…be someone’s fashion consultant or…well…ya know…” She tried to keep her face serious, because this was srs bizness… “ A call boil.”

"Call boil?" He wasn't familiar with the term but after a moment of context clues and toughtful hooting, he burst into giggles and exclaimed. "AH! PROSTITUTION!"
There were a few looks from some skeleton students chatting several yards down the hall but Muka didn't seem phased in the slightest. The strix was unaffected by the thoughts of others as a general rule. He leaned in to Hel and hissed as close to a whisper as he could manage, "Would you like to know a secret?"
Yes Hel, he'd known you all of 5 seconds and was already telling you secrets. Was Muka a fool? Or simply uncaring to the true meaning of 'secrets' and 'reputations'? "I am acquainted with prostitution." His teeth clacked devilishly, he didnt quite elaborate but if she was interested he'd most likely give her the gritty details. "But I do not think that is the career for me. I'm just becoming acquainted with the theory of fidelity. I was not raised to know of such things but it's been rather fun to learn about."
The strix leaned back now, easily discussing private matters with the valkyrie as if they were simple chit-chat topics. Ulmuka put no weight into the importance of certain topics andifhe did have secrets, they must be very serious ones. He pondered the other options, exterminator... hmm.. he did like to kill and eat rodents but it was a very unglamorous profession.
"I'm not sure I'd like the uniform of an exterminator." He giggled. "Fashion consultant? HMMM..." His body thrummed with birdlike sounds. "I wonder if I could perhaps make money but giving money to others."
He wasn't aware that financeers and producers were real things. "I don't like to actually DO much." Another raucous giggle.
