This is where I'm going to leave profiles that I've made as well as the ones that need working on.

The first one that still needs working is this one (and before anyone complains that this doesn't have much done, apparently microsoft didn't save my last version of this profile so I have to rewrite this thing again):

Alana

Played by: Isa-sama
Commitment: Gamer

Basics
Full Name: Alana Trace
Alias: N/A
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Nationality: American/Earth
Ethnicity: Caucasian

Appearance
Hair: Shoulder length, layered auburn hair with bangs
Eyes: Commonly hazel, but occasionally shows more green or brown
Skin: Fair
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 135 lbs
Build: Banana/straight shaped and fit
Distinguishing Features: Freckles along her nose and cheeks. She has pierced ears (two on the right, one on the left)
Description: Alana tends to hunch over to try and make herself appear smaller and unassuming. She wears a t-shirt under an unzipped gray hoodie with jeans and a pair of black sneakers. Her hair is usually left loose and straight unless she's busy with work or soccer (which is then held back in a ponytail and a headband to keep her bangs out of the way).

Personality
Likes: Her small (if crappy) one room apartment. Soccer.
Dislikes: Being cold, having no control over a situation, having someone get in her personal space.
Hopes: She hopes to earn her brother's forgiveness one day.
Fears: Her father and the idea of failure.
Habits/Quirks: She bites her lips when nervous, and she'll wrap her arms around her stomach if she feels uncomfortable. When someone gets angry at her, she refuses to stare at that person's eyes.
Description: While many might call her shy, she would prefer to call herself wary or guarded. She enjoys her solitude and has a very hard time interacting with others. She's a quiet girl that would prefer to stay in the background than take place in the limelight. For such a taciturn girl, she is unsurprisingly non-squeamish around blood or pain. She is the type of girl to bottle up her feelings and try to move on. She's not one to forget easily if anyone has done her any wrong. However, it doesn't mean she'll make a fuss over it depending on how severe the wrongdoing was. When it comes to her older brother, guilt colors her words and actions.

Ability
Strengths: As a soccer player, she's got a lot of stamina and is a good runner.
Weaknesses: Close combat. If a punch is thrown at at her, she will either try to dodge it or cover her face/stomach to lessen the blow.
Skills: She's got really good reflexes and can jump quite high.
Special: Working as a paramedic means that she is an expert at dealing with medical emergencies and trauma.

Background
Occupation: She goes to community college and has a part time job as a paramedic. It's tough, but it's worth the money.
Family: She has an older brother who she keeps in contact.
Hometown: Chicago
Friends/Pets: She has some friends from the soccer team, but none that are really close. For pets, she has an alley cat friend that likes to come by and get scraps of food from her.
History: Alana didn't have a very easy childhood. Her family was pretty poor, and the best thing they had in the winter was the fireplace in the corner. Her mother would hold her by the fireplace when her father turned into an angry drunk. The fire became a source of comfort for her. Her father was a fairly heavy drinker who only got worse after her mother died. At that point, he also became a beater. Her older brother tried to take many of the blows, but he couldn't always protect her. Whenever things got really bad, she would light a match or stare at the fireplace hoping for the warmth the fire provided. It also reminded her a little of her mother.

Her love of fire and the comfort she got in lighting fires started getting a bit dangerous. Whenever she stressed, she lit a match. The worse the stress, the more things she'd find to burn. Her brother tried to reason with her, but she wouldn't listen. One day, the fire she made got to be out of control, and it burned down the apartment. She and her brother managed to get out with minimal burns, but her father got third degree burns.

When he came to, he raged at the mess his daughter started, which happened to make Social Security scrutinize his angry moments and the children's fear. Eventually, the two were put into foster care, and Alana specifically was made to take therapy. Pyromania was not normal, and it could have killed her family if they hadn't been lucky. Neither of the kids ever saw their father again. While this made Alana feel better, her brother hated being in foster care. He blamed her for taking them out of one hell and putting them in another. Instead of beatings, they'd be neglected, and he'd take his anger out on his younger sister. Not by hitting her, but yelling. It almost made her start lighting fires again, but Dr. Ton'yell Jordan spoke with her on a regular basis and convinced the younger girl play soccer. Once he got old enough to leave the system, he left without taking her. They still talk to each other once in a while, but it's filled with guilt on both ends.

Alana chose to become a goalie, and learned that pain didn't always mean something bad. Sure, it hurt like nothing else to have someone kick a soccer ball right at her stomach from five feet away. However, it felt good when she prevented a ball from making a goal. She got bruised up and hurt, but it was for a worthy cause. And even though she still had trouble with people, as a goalie, she was the last line of defense. It taught her responsibility and that interacting with people meant good things.

When soccer became a success, it became easier for Alana to stop playing with fire. She no longer associated comfort with it, and started to control those impulses. Now as an adult, she is free from her pyromania, but she still goes to see Dr. Jordan. Surprising herself and Dr. Jordan, she wanted to go into medicine. Immediately out of high school, she started training to become a paramedic, and does it as a part time job. She also worked hard to get scholarships and loans so that she could go to community college and learn to become a nurse. Alana wants her life to mean something and she's willing to do anything for that especially if it means making her mother proud and avoiding turning out like her father.
How you got to Aelzwyr: She had fallen asleep on a train, and when she awoke she was in Aelzwyr.

Plotline
No plots in mind.

Tableau
Write a brief scene introducing your character.
Alana's head banged loudly against the glass of the window. Had she dozed again? That was stupid of her. The college girl glanced toward the front of the train to be sure she hadn't missed her stop. She felt as if she had been on the train for so long, but it had only been 20 minutes or so since she had gotten on.It was amazing what lack of sleep could do to the body. It had been days since Alana had gotten a full night of sleep. Thanks to pulling some overtime at the hospital and finishing up some essays for class, she'd basically been living off of coffee. The cherry on top, she'd gotten a call from her brother. He got drunk at a party and had accidentally called her. She heard the loud music and immediately hung up. Alana loved him dearly, but he said the worst things when drunk, and she didn't need to hear any of it.

Next thing she knew, she was waking up on the train that she'd never gotten off. Alana abruptly stood up and looked around to see how long she'd been asleep. No one was there, and the train had stopped. Had she been forgotten? It couldn't have happened - they would have checked to make sure no passengers were left. Then she noticed some small details that started to worry her. The seats were softer and the paint was fresh. It was definitely not the same train as before. The bag she had with her was gone, but she assumed it had been stolen. There went her money, her phone, and a few college books. She cursed softly under her breath. That was least two hundred dollars worth of stuff, and it meant living off ramen for the next month in order to get a new phone and books. If she ever found the creep that stole her bag, she'd kick 'em in the crotch with her cleats on. With a sigh, she shuffled to nearest open door. When she stepped out, she looked around cautiously. Alana knew instantly that she wasn't in Chicago anymore when she saw a large sign that read "Welcome to Aelzwyr".

This is for the Academy.

Reina

Played by: Isa-sama
Commitment: Gamer

Basics
Full Name: Reina Trasfer
Alias: N/A
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Nationality: Vallendale
Ethnicity: Half-elf, half-human

Concept
Archetype: An unfortunate child who wishes she could just be normal.
Tag Line: A girl destined to save the world, she just needs to find the courage to do it.
Description: In a world where hope seems lost, humanity continues on. The Cataclysm happened many years prior, but through sheer luck, a small amount of people survived. Some guess that it was a nuclear explosion that caused the Cataclysm. How or why it happened didn't matter. The only thing humans could do was to move on and attempt to rebuild what was lost.

In this significantly smaller world, religion still held sway. Some people believed that the first creatures God created were called Spirits. They were representation of various aspects of humanity and emotion. When God created humans, he had the Spirits kept in heaven while allowing the humans to live on Earth to prove their worth. Another aspect to this religion believed that the Cataclysm was actually the biblical apocalypse that got interrupted. Religious scientists found a way to bring Spirits into their world by sealing the Spirits to the soul of a human. The process of sealing left a mark on the body where the Spirit entered - the mark was called a Sigil.

The sealing process was incredibly painful on the "volunteer" who would hold the Spirit. If not done correctly, it was possibly for the Spirit to contact the human host. By whispering into the host's ear constantly, it could, and likely would, try to drive the human insane. Death was the only way to free the Spirit from the human cage. Increased agitation, depression, schizophrenia, and insanity were side effects of sealing. The people around them worried that one day these Sigil-users might go crazy...and they had every reason to worry. People feared what they did not understand, and Sigil-users were very firmly in the realm of things people did not understand. However, the human would have access to a power that the Spirit once had. For instance, if the Spirit could manipulate fire, it was possible for the human host to also have that ability. It was these spiritual abilities that greedy people craved.

There was a man named Aeon, an incredibly intelligent scientist, who firmly believed that the Cataclysm should have been the Apocalypse. Aeon needed to find the Sigil-user who contained the Spirit ordained to bring about the Apocalypse and release that Spirit to complete the work of the Lord. The second the Sigil-user died, the world would be destroyed. Needless to say, quite a few Sigil-users did not want to see the world be destroyed. Aeon disappeared after a long, arduous battle, and the group thought that the fighting was all over.

The group finally relaxed, and after some time, started to marry. Things seemed to be going well for them, and they had no reason to believe that they couldn't have families in this time of peace.

The Sigil-users discovered another odd effect of being who they were. Should they have children (which they did), the children would inherit the Sigil(s) their parents had. The powers that came with having a Sigil did not come into play until after they reached a certain age, but having a Sigil meant dealing with a number of problems growing up. People would ostracize the Sigil-users' children, and the normal people's children (who noticed how their parents would stay away from the Sigil-users) would mimic their parents' attitudes. These people would fear and hate the Sigil-users because the unforunate Sigil-users lead very dangerous lives (attempted kidnapping and attempted murder were not uncommon).

It was in this kind of environment that Reina grew up in. Reina was the daughter of Miles, who contained the Spirit of Life and Faith, and Ayame, who contained the Spirit of Fury and Passion. Oddly enough, Reina only had the Sigil for the Spirit of Life and Faith. Her ability manifested differently from her father's (who had essentially been immortal as long as he contained his Spirit); whatever she drew in her notebook would come to life.

It was when Reina and the other Sigil-users' children and barely become adults that Aeon reappeared. Aeon did disappear after the final battle, but he did not die. Aeon had hidden to heal his injuries and to find another way to bring about the Apocalypse. He believed that he would find a way to complete God's work by waiting. His moment came once the original group of Sigil-users had chilren. Aeon was ready to try again, and this time, he was confident that he could start the Apocalypse to finish God's work.

It was now Reina's and the other children's turn to prevent Aeon from destroying the world. She doesn't know whether they'll be able to do it, but she'll definitely do her best to prevent the end of the world from occurring.

Appearance
Hair: Waist length, wavy blonde hair
Eyes: Brown
Skin: Pale
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 130 lbs
Build: Straight-build
Distinguishing Features: Pointy ears and has this symbol tattooed in the middle of her back. Whenever she uses her abilities, it will have a very faint glow.
Description: She carries gray backpack filled with art supplies and snacks. She has a dark grey, elbow length shirt on, a pair of jeans and boots.

Personality
Likes:
1) Pencils – it was her first artistic medium because they were cheap to get at the marketplace. However, it never really stopped the loneliness she felt. She thought it was fine because it gave her more time to perfect her artistic abilities. Reina still loves drawing with pencils because pencils were the only thing that never failed her - when she needed to leave notes or describe things with pictures. It gave her an outlet, and she will always remember pencils fondly for it.
2) Creating stories and characters – since she spent quite a bit of time alone as a child, she got really good at creating imaginary friends.
3) Camping – when she felt the need to get away, she would go camping in the forest nearby and just unwind. No one would catch her cry or yell (or try to tell her what to do like her mother), and she could draw to her heart’s content.
Dislikes:
1) Watercolor – as a child, something about the delicate colors used to sooth her. Each imperfection made the art unique; there would never be another like it again. As she got older, she started to hate the paleness of the colors and found them utterly sad. The splotches where her tears hit the paper made her feel ashamed. You couldn't hide imperfections in watercolor, which irritated her to end. A mistake was still a mistake, regardless of excuses.
2) The thing she hates most of all is alcohol. Every single type. Doesn't matter what it is or how good it might taste to others, she will stay away from it like it is going to burn her. Seeing as her first experience with alcohol lead to her having a tattoo on her back, she thinks it would be a good idea to never drink ever again.
Hopes: The world won't end in a fiery apocalypse.
Fears:
1) Losing control of her abilities.
2) Losing her friends
3) Bullies.
Habits/Quirks: She is very very polite to people. When embarrassed, she doesn't like to look at people in the eyes. She also chews her nails when she's nervous.
Alignment: Neutral good
Description: Reina is a very shy individual who is very polite. When faced with confrontation, she would prefer to try and smooth out whatever the problems are than fight. When she does get angry, she tends to keep it to herself. She is a very creative person who enjoys drawing/painting whatever pops into her mind. Although she enjoys some time alone (if only to draw), she does like socializing with people. She does not easily socialize (introductions are the hardest part of socializing for her), but if a persona manages to get past her shy exterior, they would get a very caring friend. When she does argue/fight for something, it is usually for the benefit of someone else rather than for herself.

Ability
Strengths: She's very creative, which is useful when it comes to having the ability to bring drawings to life. She is a long range fighter who has surprisingly good aim with a pistol (though she's not terribly fond of it).
Weaknesses: She can freeze up when confronted, and she needs to be in the background of a fight. It takes time to draw something to defend herself, so while she is drawing, she is vulnerable.
Skills/Special Abilities: She can bring her drawings to life.

Background
World/Genre: Earth/Post-apocalyptic epic with fantasy elements
Family: She has a mother and a father, both who are Sigil-users with only one Sigil each. This should normally mean that she inherited two Sigils, but only one Sigil (her father's) has appeared on her.

Her mother, Ayame, holds the Spirit of Fury and Passion. Ayame is a very strong woman and quite strict. She is more stubborn than a mule and is a workaholic. She's very good at being a leader or a soldier, and because of her somewhat domineering personality, Ayame has a difficult time understanding Reina's gentler nature. She has pink hair and dark brown eyes. Though Reina was unaware of it until recently, Ayame is not her biological mother. This also explains why Reina never inherited the Sigil for Ayame's Spirit. Reina doesn't not know where her biological mother is, but she does know that Ayame has been there for Reina despite their misunderstandings. If Reina is asked about her family, she will get angry because she is still getting used to the idea that Ayame is not her biolgical mother.

Her father, Miles, holds the Spirit of Life and Faith. Miles is a calm and laidback sort of person. He is an elf, which is where Reina got her elven genes from. He is generally understanding, and he is the one that his daughter goes to for trouble. He has blonde wavy hair and blue eyes. He is her biological father, and there has been a bit of friction ever since he told Reina that Ayame is not her biological mother.
History: Because Reina came from Sigil-users, people worried that she would develop symptoms of insanity like many Sigil-users had. People's fear of Sigil-users' powers and generally dangerous lifestyles tended to make people keep away from Reina's small family. Her parents wanted to try and give their daughter a more normal life than they had, so the continued to try and get her to play with children her own age. However, children mimicked their parents' reactions, and didn't like to play with Reina. Many kids would say it was because she was an elf, she was ugly, or that she just had a horrible personality. Some would insult her parents and wonder aloud whether she would go crazy on the town, and maybe that they would be better off if she weren't around.

Rather than fight the other kids, Reina wilted under the scorn. She would try her best to be polite and kind to prove that she was a normal person. When it didn't work, she tended to go out to the forest nearby and camp for a night and draw. She had been drawing since she was incredibly young, and her parents were glad to see that she at least had an interest in something. The mother and daughter had many misunderstandings because Reina's inability to stand up for herself made no sense to the incredibly strong woman. Once Reina grew older, she understood that it was not because she was an elf that people hated her, but because she had a Sigil. Even though Reina hadn't gotten ahold of her powers, she was still viewed as a ticking time bomb by the villagers. Although she was finally old enough to appreciate the truth of being a Sigil-holder, Reina still feared that people disliked her solely for being part-elf. It had been a part of her childhood for so long, that it became an unconscious fear.

She had made one friend in middle school, a lively girl by the name of Flare. Flare had been a very vibrant girl who did not care for people's opinions and defended the quiet girl. Reina in return listened to Flare's wild (and occasionally dangerous) ideas and pranks. The two girls had been very close friends in this time. Flare was also the daughter of two Sigil-users, and was forced to endure four Sigils (her parents had two each). Flare had already unleashed one ability (she could manipulate blue fire) when she was taken out of school. The two girls had truly cared for one another, and it hurt Reina when Flare left.

Once she reached high school, her powers manifested. She had been doodling a picture of a butterfly at home when her lower back started to glow (though she'd been unaware of it at the time) when it flew off the page. She screamed, and when her parents came into the room, it took a moment or two before she could explain why she'd been screaming at a butterfly. It took many visits to the woods, the constant supervision of her parents, and many, many hours of practice before she felt somewhat comfortable with understanding the limits of her abilities. Reina needed to be very careful because if she let it slip, the sketch of a tiger could come out and either laze about on the grass or attack her. Heck, even the idea of having a tiger jump off the page was enough to scare her.

Her mother had taught her to shoot a pistol. If Reina had the ability to use whatever her mind thought up, Ayame felt Reina better have some extra abilities in case she didn't have an artistic utensil available. Reina learned, if a bit slowly, how to shoot a handgun, but refused to go for anything bigger. She also learned that if she was truly desperate, she could bite down on her finger to bleed out a stick figure to help her out of sticky situations.

After high school was over, she decided to travel to a nearby town for a fresh start and hopefully a good job. Unfortunately for her, she ran into some kidnappers (and with the help of a ragtag duo) who failed in their mission. This group contained two boys, Solar and Phalanx, who had appreciated Reina's abilities in the fight and convinced her to help them find the person who planned the kidnapping. After some time, they discovered that the person responsible for the mess was looking for all Sigil-users. The group had saved another girl from being taken away, and to Reina's everlasting surprise, it had been Flare. However, this Flare was not the same bright girl that Reina knew as a child. This Flare had unlocked two Sigil powers and was suffering the consequences of it. The group learned about the history of the past attempt at capturing Sigil-users, the plan to destroy the world, and the man behind it all: Aeon.

Now that Aeon has revealed himself again, it's up to the children and adults to work together to prevent Aeon from completing his plan. Hopefully, he will stay dead after they defeat him again.

Plotline
Do you have any goals in mind for your character? These are not necessarily things your character wants but what you want to do with them. Explain:Doing these assignments has made me understand what can motivate her to do crazy/heroic things, and now I am not worried that I've made an unrealistic character. I might want to use her in an RP later on.

Tableau
Write a brief scene introducing your character.
In a fight for her life, the best thing Reina could do was run and hide. The blonde girl didn't know why these people were chasing her, and she didn't want to stop and find out. Her mother had been very adamant about teaching Reina how to protect herself, but the gentle-natured daughter never took to the lessons. The only thing she really got good at was running.

Reina found a tree and started to climb up it. In her panicked state of mind, she very shakily took off her backpack and grabbed her sketchbook and a pencil. She ended up dropping some colored pencils, but that was alright. She had the utilities she needed to defend herself.

She heard voices not so very far from her. Angry and demanding. Whatever it was they were after, she wanted nothing to do with it. The horror stories she'd heard about what men liked to do with young women who traveled alone were enough to keep her awake at nights. The strokes on the paper started out weak, but after the first two or so erratic lines, she knew exactly what she wanted to draw.

The picture of a gun had almost been completed (all she needed was to finish drawing the handle) but at that point, someone had grabbed onto her leg and pulled her out of the tree. "Notsa fast lil' lady," the man's voice croaked out, "We've got some bus'ness with ya." Reina's wide eyed fear only made the three men around her grin. "What's a pretty lil' girl like you doin' 'round these parts?" "I-I-I--" They laughed at her. That was alright with her. Laughing meant distraction.

"I w-wanted to g-go to th-the vill-age nearby...Please, let me go..." The leader of the trio crouched in front of the girl, "Then maybe ya shouldn' have left in the first place, eh?" He reached for her face and pulled back her hair, "A pretty lil' elf like ya shouldn' be alone out here. There's thieves, and robbers, and worse about." An dark grin appeared as he yanked at Reina's hair. "Why don'tcha stick with us? We'll take gooood care of you."

Reina started to tear up. There was no way to overpower this man with brute strength alone. "Come on, girlie. Time t'go," he pulled her hair to force her to stand. In that moment, she punched him between the legs and dove for her book. The leader had fallen to the ground, and the two men dove after Reina. The two second head start allowed her to pick up the sketchbook and run. She blindly ran while drawing the rest of the gun and tripped face first.

"Nowhere to go now, girlie," said one of the thugs. She sat up and turned around to point a simple 9mm glock pistol at them. "Get away from me!" Tear marks were down her cheeks, and she watched them stay away. A shot rang out courtesy of the ringleader. It seemed he no longer cared about having an untainted girl, if she was disabled, she wouldn't be able to run. The shot missed Reina by a foot, but the shot she aimed at his chest not even three seconds later rang true.

The two men stared at the dead thug, and then looked at the pipsqueak blonde in front of them. She got up and was the very definition of a crazed woman. "If you even pick up that gun, I will shoot you too." Her eyes were wide, and her whole body was shaking, but she looked like she meant business. "Please just go away. I-I'll give you to the count of five. One..." The two bolted off. She put down the gun and started hyperventilating. Once she had calmed down, she bottled up the emotions. As much as Reina wanted to cry and hate herself for killing a man, she needed to get to the village before sundown. Otherwise, she'd have to defend herself again in the dark where she wouldn't be so lucky.

She went over and picked up the other man's gun. It had been a .38 revolver. She placed that in her bag and left the body right where it was. She knew this was an image that would haunt her for nights to come. Reina knew she had to defend herself, but killing someone was still wrong. "I-I'm sorry. God watch over you." The only thing she did for the man was shut his eyes closed. She turned to grab the notebook that held the barest outline of a drawing of a gun. She ripped the page, and the 9mm pistol she had placed on the ground disappeared.

Reina was not strong, and she was very easily afraid. However, she was not a quitter. She wiped the tears from her face and continued down the road. She would cry about the man once she was in the safety of a room within a town.

From Ghosts of Guidan:

Isa-sama:

Name: Amelia Devlin

Sex: Female

Age: 26

Race: Human

Appearance: She is a fair-skinned brunette with long wavy hair held in a high ponytail. She might look like a small girl, but she’s actually quite fit and knows how to handle herself when it comes to trouble. Her hazel eyes might be her most startling feature, but it is her boisterous laugh and easy going smile that catches people’s attention. Her brown leather jacket hides the shoulder holster she has for her pistol but does nothing to hide the sword tied at her waist. Her heavy leather boots complete her ensemble and hide a small knife on the inside of her left boot.

Personality: Amelia has a cheerful deposition to the point that some people would be annoyed. She’s very adventurous and curious, which might also make her a bit reckless. When it comes to people, she can be friendly and easy going. If one could gain her trust, she’d be willing to follow them to the ends of the earth for the sake of helping them. Although she does like to give people the benefit of the doubt, she’s not completely naïve and will protect herself from people who give her reason to doubt.

Skills: She is very skilled with her small sword and has used it often in a fight when she can’t use her gun. Surprisingly, her sword isn’t hollow and she chose to keep the edges of her sword sharp rather than focus on keeping the tip sharp. The extra speed she gave up was worth the strength of her sword. She’s ambidextrous, but is better with her right hand when dealing with her sword.

She also has a six barrel revolver that she’s decent at. She can’t deliver constant headshots with it, but she’s never needed to do that anyway. Being able to dual wield a sword in one hand and a gun in the other also has a few advantages. Like her sword, she has practiced shooting with both hands and is evenly skilled in both.

Background: Amelia has no father. For the longest time, all she knew about the man was that he was still alive somewhere that wasn’t with her mother and her. While that used to make Amelia sad, she absolutely loves her mother and appreciates everything her mother went through as a single parent. Her mother, Katherine Devlin, is a headstrong, fiery woman who isn’t afraid to voice her opinions. The two women have had their issues with each other, but they have a very strong bond (if occasionally covered up by worry and snark).

Amelia might have inherited much of her mother’s looks, but the personality was very much from her father. Her adventurous streak started out with wanting to go out into the world to find her father, but Amelia soon appreciated the world for what it was and not for the ultimate search for her missing parent.

The two lived in a trading port called Maremouth-on-Sea on the northwestern coast of Andarth, and they prospered quite well. The Devlin family (started by Amelia’s grandparents) holds a chartering business called Devlin Shipping that provided the mother and daughter with a comfortable, stable living. They even had a crew available if someone needed to hire one with one of their ships.

It was actually through the crew that Amelia learned to start fighting. No one had really wanted to teach her, but she managed to charm them into giving her lessons every once in a while. In time, Amelia caught the attention of a local nobleman who noticed her talents and offered to have her officially trained. The only reason why her mother even agreed (and privately had a screaming match with her daughter over the stupidity of learning how to fight) was because Katherine thought that keeping the nobleman’s patronage would ensure future business (and she was right about that).

Amelia learned to properly fight through the nobleman’s training. She got good enough to become hired muscle through the shipping business. It was a long fight with her mother, but it eventually worked out for them both. Amelia finally got to go explore the world, and her mother got extra business (and money for her daughter’s work).

The biggest secret Katherine has kept from everyone was in regards to Amelia’s father. His name was Sir Percival Cubbard. It had been a good relationship while it lasted, but she never saw fatherhood potential in him. They parted on amiable terms, and when she found out she was pregnant, she mailed a letter to him right away. He never mailed her back or saw her, so she assumed that he wanted nothing to do with their child. For everyone’s sake, she never spoke about his role in her pregnancy and learned to take care of a child on her own. The only reason why Amelia found out her father’s identity was because her mother received a letter about Cubbard’s death and her invitation to his funeral. Amelia begged and went to the funeral in her mother’s place.

Items: Amelia has her sword and her revolver. She also has a cloth arm brace that goes from her wrist to mid-forearm. The surprisingly sturdy arm brace is made of lots of brightly colored threads – red, blue white, green, orange, and even a hint of yellow - in an intricate pattern.

Other: A few months prior to her father’s funeral, Amelia came across a ransacked shipment someone – perhaps thieves or some greedy crewman – had gotten into containing a strange arm brace. Supposedly it had come from the New World across the ocean, and she wanted to have a closer look at it.

As soon as she touched it, she blacked out. Strange fleeting images flitted by in her head and strong, desperate emotions started to fill her. When Amelia woke up, she found that the arm brace was on her arm and she was on the other side of Maremouth.

Amelia looked for the scholar that found the brace and asked about it. It was definitely not an ordinary cloth brace, and she had to find out what she could. The man told her that it was a piece of a royal guard’s armor from a village that he had visited. The superstitious villagers hadn’t wanted to give him the armor, so he dropped the subject. He didn’t know how or when, but someone (or some group) must have stolen the armor without his knowledge and tried to keep it a secret. Whoever had stolen the armor must have been in a hurry since they had left behind the arm brace. He had no way of knowing who stole it, and the theft of the armor frustrated him.

After some negotiation, Amelia managed to convince the scholar into letting her keep the brace. The scholar wanted to wash his hands of the mess and didn’t mind letting her have it so long as she never mentioned his name. Combining Amelia's blackout and the information he'd learned from the villagers, the scholar thought she could use the brace to find the rest of the missing armor.

At first, she gave the item little mind, but she soon felt very uncomfortable when it wasn’t on her or within reach. Amelia felt it was just easier to just wear it constantly. Another strange thing that occurred was that her normal restlessness seemed to be getting stronger. It even worried her mother how much Amelia wanted to get out of Maremouth.

It worried Amelia too. She just wanted to head towards the east – her father’s funeral was in that direction. If Amelia’s begging to go to the funeral had a little to do with her strange urge to head east...well, she wasn’t sure what it meant, but it likely wasn’t anything good.
