Quote: Dear Mei,
I would appreciate, if you could consider accompanying me for a fresh and pleasant walk around the Weeping Forest outskirts. If you are wishing so, I would be most happy to pick you up on Curseday, 6pm, near Amityville Academy main entrance.
Yours faithfully, Eisheth Zenunim
This letter was left near the door to Mei's dorm. Hm... how did it get there?

The Jiang Shi was surprised when she had found the note on her door. Even more surprised to see it was from Eisheth. She had wanted to see the Famine Horsewoman again after prom, to thank her for going with her and putting up with her for the evening. But classes called and friends called so she hadn't had much time to wander back down to the reserve where Eisheth lived. So, there she stood near the Academy entrance. Hands in front of her with her fingers laced. Her long sleeves covering her hands for the most part. Mei rocked on her heels as she waited for the Horsewoman to appear. Curious as to what this little walk might entail, but excited to see her friend again. She began to whistle a little tune as she leaned up against a concrete pillar.

Mei was already waiting for her near the Amity entrance, when the alchemist appeared. The Jiang Shi looked fancy.. did she dress specifically for the evening, Eisheth was curious. She herself was wearing her usual sandy-themed outfit with her cape tugged: Halloween evenings seemed to be quite cold for her after spending the lifetime in arid sands of Famine. Two big moths followed her frequently landing on her skulls. Eisheth was carrying a simple plant, a tiny flower, which she passed towards Mei immediately after the arrival. " Thank you for accepting my request", she said politely. " You look... very sophisticated". That was the least she could say.

Mei smiled as Eisheth approached. Though as soon as the tiny flower was given to her a confused look flickered across her face. Well, she certainly hadn't expected a gift that was for sure. She would have to get something to give the Horsewoman in return. "Thank you. You look very nice this evening as well." Mei had to admit, she did indeed wear one of her more 'fancier' outfits for this meeting. Eisheth had requested her presence specifically so what better excuse than to shrug off her regular wardrobe and sport something different. It was one of her favorite outfits after all. The small ghoul was still quite curious as to why Eisheth had called her out here for a walk through the woods. "Shall we walk then? Talk a bit, since I doubt you asked me out here simply for a stroll through the woods." She grinned, sticking her tongue out just slightly while she hugged the plant to her chest.

" Indeed we shall walk", agreed the alchemist, casting a glance over Mei's evening outfit paying attention to the shapes of student's body. The ghoul was really pretty after all, her entire image summoned some sort of special feelings not really common to Famine denizens. Was it what Conquest'ers would describe as eroticism? " I wanted to thank you for the prom, in the first place", began Eisheth. " You see, it's not really a common thing for us to have a party. In fact, you might say we are not really skilled in having fun: probably one of the few things we are not skilled in, though, quite unfortunate one", she sighed recollecting the prom scenes in her memory. " I would actually be most greatful, if...", she stopped for a moment. " If you could teach me. How to have fun. I mean, not necessary parties, I learnt this lesson. But there should be.. there also should be other ways", Eisheth lowered her voice feeling confused. Queen, she bet she sounded really stupid.

She gave a small giggle. "I should thank you for putting up with me for the evening anyhow. I apologize for my....." How would she describe it. Mei clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "Small outburst." That seemed to work. After the whole, albeit short, conversation about the gnomes she could feel a bit of tension in the air. Still Eisheth had stuck around even so. For that she was at least glad. As she walked alongside her, Mei kept the small plant close to her. Her eyes looking down at the ground as a small frown played upon her lips. "I suppose I can see, with what little time I had spent with the Clans...before everything happened...how that would be a common thing. You all don't really do things unless it has a bit of practicality behind it."When the Horsewoman spoke of other things besides parties Mei wasn't quite sure what she meant. A slight tilt of her head soon came as she glanced at Eisheth out of the corner of her eye. "Other ways? Such as?"

Now Eisheth felt really stupid. Other ways? She wasn't sure what other ways did the Halloweeners have, and are those even a bit similar to the horsemen ways. " Well... there should be... other ways", she mumbled. " I mean... aside from just partying, right?". That was the best tactic known to her, if you don't know the answer, demand it from your interlocutor. Though, the alchemist didn't want to confuse Mei, actually that was the last thing she'd want. She touched the ghoul's hand with her fingers. " I think.. I think you can bring delight to one's existence, and I'm in urgent need of some good emotions. If you can teach me this "fun" thing, I... I promise I can protect you. Next time, I have to protect, I won't fail... not anymore". Oh Jack, did that sound romantic AT ALL?

The Kushi began spinning its wheel in Mei's brain. She wasn't completely clueless as to the whole idea of romanticism. The ghoul was just unsure what the Horsewoman meant at first. While some ghouls obsessed over the prospect, it was only a minor thing to Mei at the time so she hadn't really considered it much. But. The way Eisheth spoke and then touched her hands, she slowly began to put two and two together. She had to admit, part of her started to become more and more thrilled as everything came to the forefront. And in all honesty, ever since the first time she had met Eisheth she hadn't stopped thinking about her. And then Prom. It was a serious coincidence if she ever saw one. The small ghoul stopped mid-step. Turning to look up at Eisheth, her dark brown almost almost searching as a small smile began to grow on her lips. She laced the fingers of her free hand with Eisheth's own hand. "Are you asking me to be your ghoulfriend, Eisheth?" A frown threatened to appear, tugging at the corners of her mouth. The way the Horsewoman spoke of protection and not failing. It spoke volumns to Mei now.

That was fast! And to tell the truth, totally unexpected. For a moment Eisheth stood frozen with her mouth open: she was trying to catch on her breath. Wow, those Amityville ghouls surely are amazing! " Hm.. The whole concept of boilfriend/ghoulfriend is new to me", she complained. " Please, try to understand, and be patient with me. I must explain it now... We didn't have it in this particular way. All the clan was like one big family: lovers, relatives, parents, etc, we even had one big dorm for everyone, nothing to hide or to peek, every single part of your life was publicly accessible and visible. I guess, it's very different from here". The alchemist stopped giving Mei time to absorb the information. " But i guess, since here boils and ghouls have set pairs and mates, that would be only natural to adapt to the circumstances. So, technically speaking, I would be most happy, if you could consider this. Though... I shall admit, and I beg your pardon for this, I have little to no idea of what boilfriend/ghoulfriend status technically changes in one's relationship. Does it allow something specific?", Eisheth blinked curiously as she looked at Mei.

Mei was naive but usually once she started putting two and two together she picked things up pretty quickly. The small ghoul tilted her head slightly as she listened to Eisheth explain who things worked in her culture. Everything was public? Well, she could kind of relate. The home in which her parent's kept was fairly similar. Except most of the more explicit acts of relationships were always kept private. Locked behind closed doors. "Here specifically, yea sure. Its a collective community thing though those in relationships generally prefer to keep certain things about their relationships private. But I'm sure some of the students have come from similar backgrounds such as yours. While we have the same...modesty here. At home, from where we all originally come from, there are different cultures and set standards upon which we live by. So in a way, we are similar to you in that aspect." She smiled warmly. "Many students come from places that are quite different from Amityville, even Halloween town itself. So we are basically adapting what we've grown up with and known most of our lives to the culture and sociatle standards of Halloween."In all truth, Mei had no real experience when it came to romantic involvement. The only thing she really had to go on were the examples of the other Jiang Shi couples who she lived with. Mother and father though were probably the best example she had. They loved each other dearly and it was the little things they did for each other and around each other that clearly showed it . "I suppose to best way to explain changing one's status from friend to boilfriend or girlfriend is that it uh...I guess publicly lets people know that you are in a committed relationship with the other. Generally meaning you are exclusive to this other person. Your feelings and love are all centered on them and no one else." She paused for a second. "Though there are exceptions of course, but for most it means bonding with one person." Mei's mind raced as she tried her best to explain it. She fiddled with one of her sleeves. A bit nervous and just a slightly bit bashful, she looked down at her feet. She liked Eisheth and exploring a more expanded relationship sounded....exciting? "Well, I don't know whats quite so special about me that you would want to enter into a relationship with me. But...." Dark brown eyes looked up from beneath black eyelashes. "I would be happy to do so. With you."santime XD Blind leading the blind.

" Exclusive to this other person?", repeated Eisheth with a sign of doubt. " But why? I mean, sorry, if I sound stupid now, but I thought the relationship if for fun and joy, it should give you power for the resolve, and a meaning to move further... but why should one chain oneself and limit oneself to just one single person? I... wouldn't want to limit you. That sounds like putting a living person into a cage, a fancy one, but still a cage. I don't want to limit you... you amazing just the way you are". The alchemist sighed. The relationship this appears to be quite complicated. " Also...", she blushed. " I thought that being in a relationship should launch some additional fun, in the first place. Like... being closer to each other", she blushed even more. Oh Queen, why it should be that hard! Yayoi Trying hard to keep it PG13 ninja

She had never thought of it as limiting. It, at least to her, didn't seem limiting in anyway. But she was also talking to someone who was from another culture with different thinking. Mei would have to approach this carefully and thoughtfully. "No, you don't sound stupid. Its not so much chaining yourself or limiting yourself with one person. Its..." She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "When you focus your feelings and emotions towards one person it makes them feel special I suppose. That no one else in the world could have your love or care more than they do. That you enjoy being around them. Learning and growing with one another. Sharing experiences that bring you both great joy with just one another." The ghoul clutched the small plant a little tighter. It was harder to explain than she had thought. Mei blinked rapidly a couple times. If she actually had blood running through her veins her face would probably be really really red. "Ah well....those uh kind of things...usually comes with time. Once you get to know a person a bit better."

"Really?", Eisheth sounded a bit upset. "I thought that kind of things is the best thing about relationship", the alchemist smiled genuinely.
"Never could understand this saving for later thing", she shook her head. "I actually believe, and the late events prove me right, life can be too short to wait, better take everything while you can, since you have no idea, whether you'd be alive tomorrow. We have enemies now... hunters. Most of our people died, and you never know won't you be the next... and I think if my fellow clansmen were given a chance to live just one more day, they would probably spend it having as much possible joy and pleasures of life, as they could", she stared somewhere into the trees for a moment or so. "Don't mind me.. that's probably just because I'm not as young, as you, guys, but I don't remember how I used to think when I was a student age. If I was born in Halloween, I could be one of your professors already... that's quite disappointing, don't you think?".

"Well its um...." She fidgeted. "I suppose one of the better things about a relationship. But I've never..." If she could blush it would be an all over body blush now, or something. Could people fully body blush? "I can understand that. Living life as if it were your last. You could step out the door and be hit by a bus. You never know." Mei reached out and fiddled with Eisheth's cloak for a second before pulling her hand back. "The Hunters are my enemies too. I don't understand why they hate us all so much....but they scare me none the less. I don't know what I would do if one killed anyone I know. My friends, my family. You." She frowned heavily. The ghoul nodded for a second. "Disappointing? How so?"

" Simply because being young, you are more open to the world around, you seem to have more fun and joy from some very simple things. That's what I'm trying to achieve.. manually, yet for you that would be only natural", Eisheth smiled remembering Mai's dance. The ghoul was so excited about the dance, it was touching for the alchemist. " My heart is not soft anymore, and thus, there's not much room left for positive feelings", she explained. " ...and I can't say I like this". That said, the alchemist touched Mei's elbow, and unobtrusively pulled the student closer. Yayoi getting back to the point, lol razz
