Note: These are the rules of the guild. Everyone is expected to read and refer to these rules should disputes arise. You MUST put "Hoplite" in your profile thread before you will be included on any cards.
Rules of CWA
Roles of Leadership:
Captain (aka Me) - My role here is simple: I run the show, I make the decisions, I have the final say in disputes. If I'm needed to mediate a situation, I will evaluate it from both sides and come to a decision based on mutual compromise. I will not allow bias to sway my decision, regardless of who is at fault.
Vice Captain - The VC's role is the same as my role, and has complete authority should I need to leave for any reason.
Crew - The role of crew is primarily maintaining the guild. This includes moving threads, creating roll calls, sending announcements, sending messages to competitors, and anything else I may need. Crew reports directly to the VC and myself if anything needs our attention. If a dispute breaks out in the guild, they are permitted to lock any threads that pop up because of it.
Gaia Online's Terms of Service
This group is being hosted on Gaia Online, and as such, their rules will apply here. If you are in violation of the ToS, you will be dealt with.
Characters
See the Profile Subforum for a more detailed list of guidelines. To summarize:
-CWA is limiting the number of characters to three. This includes competitors in tag teams or stables.
-CWA will use original characters only, unless otherwise approved by the Captain.
-Competitors are required to have a thread for their characters. If there is a thread outside the guild you use for updating, you are permitted to set up a link.
CWA Match Rules
CWA runs on traditional match rules: 10-count for outside ring time, the 5-second rope/turnbuckle rule, rope breaks, matches are won via pinfall, submission, countout, and DQs if any DQ action takes place. If in a specialty match, rule changes will be applied on the first post, including victory conditions. Consult the CWA Specialty Matches thread if you are in a match exclusive to CWA.
Activity
Competitors are expected to participate in matches/promos should they sign up on the roll call. Inactivity will be reviewed on a cycle-by-cycle basis. Anyone discovered with the following will be contacted via PM regarding activity:
-Sign up for roll call and not participate
-Matches consistently end in automatic victories
-Not appearing for a title match
Activity will be a primary factor in deciding who will be competing for titles. If consistent inactivity persists, the Captain reserves the right to remove.
-If needed, competitors can call auto-hits and auto-wins in matches. The rules for his are simple: Auto-hit is called after 48 hours have gone by since the initial post. Auto-win is called after 60 hours have passe.
Match Card Cycle
Regular Match Cards - 2-3 Weeks, pending on the schedule
PPVs - Month-long, after 3-4 cards
Names of PPVs will vary.
Role-Play Ethics
-Keep in contact with your opponent(s) during your matches to plan spots, check-in if they are late to post, etc.
-The use of Godmodding and Puppetmastering is strictly prohibited. It makes RPing less fun and is a shitty thing to do to somebody. Matches have flow, and godmodding kills the flow. The ONLY exception for Puppetmastering is in a tag team situation and your partner vanishes. In that event, unless you have permission from your partner, you are permitted to post as them after a 48-hour period. If you are unsure about this, feel free to ask me.
-NO BULLSHIT. I don't tolerate needless drama in my guild. I don't care who started it or who is keeping it going; I WILL end it...at least here in CWA. If it has nothing to do with CWA, settle it between yourselves via PM or off-site.
Concerning Disputes and Three-Strike Rule Policy:
As an effort to keeping disputes out of CWA as best as possible, I will be implementing a three-strike rule regarding punishment. While we're past the Bullshit Era (hopefully), disputes will still happen. Disputes can be any of the following:
-Negative non-character interactions (ie: criticizing a character not in promo)
-Any ToS violation (ie: spamming, flaming, explicit content, etc.) or rule violation.
-Threads that specifically target a competitor(s)
-Harassment of Crew/VC/Myself
The procedure for this is as follows:
1) We lock whatever thread has the dispute as to prevent it from continuing there. Additionally, threads that pop-up in-guild because of it will be deleted, on my authority only.
2) I will ask both sides to describe the situation from their perspectives to paint a better picture. Non-compliance will net you a warning from me.
3) After taking both sides, I will decide on how to proceed.
If necessary, a punishment will be implemented, based on three varying degrees. Effectively, you get three strikes. Depending on how bad the situation is, you may be limited to only two, or even one, before getting the boot.
Strike 1:
-A warning via PM, describing the situation fully.
Strike 2:
-As strike 1, including not being booked the next card.
Strike 3:
-As strike 2, including temporary ban based on where we are in the cycle.
If the situation is dragged outside of the guild (ie: in the social guild), I will not hesitate to turn the temporary ban into a permanent one.
If any crew members are found to have abused their power, they will be warned. On a second offense, they will be demoted with no chance of re-acceptance.
