Trist vs. Willow [FIN]

Roll a One: Ice field : The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks.

Mina nearly groaned out loud when she saw the field that had been randomized. It was her Girafarig's turn to fight, and she had told herself she would make her Pokémon go no matter what the field, to better both their and her own battling abilities. Still, she remained wary at the prospect of hooves on ice, but she was slightly consoled by the knowledge that Trist had gone through it before and that everyone had come back out alive.

Trist frowned when he saw the field he was to battle on, but he offered no protest and loyally (and cautiously) went onto the ice.

Kytti entered the room and took note the field. "Ice? This should be interesting to say the least." she thought to herself. Her Deerling cautiously walked at her side, trying not to slip.
"Willow, it's going to be a little hard for you with the ice, but I know we will make it through, let's have some fun. Break a leg! Err.. wait."
Willow snorted at the joke her trainer said, but laughed on the inside. With a small bleat, she took her spot on the field.

Mina's features broke into a bright grin when she saw a familiar opponent.

"It's good to see you again," she said, then laughed when she noticed they were both sending out poor-footed Pokémon onto the ice. "Let's hope no one gets too hurt."

"Let's go, Trist! Attract!"

Trist nearly fell over when he heard his trainer's request. Blushing heavily, he looked about for a moment, lost, before nosing around and bringing the small Deerling a shard of beautifully formed ice.

"Indeed! It's always a pleasure!" Kytti called to the other trainer, before sending out a command to her Deerling, "Use Faint Attack Willow! Watch your footing!"

Willow heard the command from her trainer and happily obliged, steadied her hooves on the ice, then charge in for an attack, slowly blurring out.

Mina winced when she saw Trist struck, and quickly called out, "Careful now -- double kick!"

Trist wasn't so eager to repeat his past attempt. He backed away from the Deerling's attack with lowered ears before turning and striking out with his hind hooves towards her.

Willow spun on the ground after the collision from the Girafarig's double kick.
"Again Willow, use Faint Attack!" Kytti cheered happily.

Willow again charged at the pokemon, her body blurring as she attacked.

Mina could see that Trist was losing heart against the young and pretty Deerling. She had to get him to focus again, and fast!

"It's okay, Trist! Calm Mind!"

Trist turned his shoulder towards the Deerling, not even making an effort to try and dodge while he was still on the ice. At his trainer's call, however, he closed his eyes and allowed himself to relax.

Kytti sensing a build up on her opponents pokemon and called towards her Deerling, "Hit it again with Faint Attack! You can do it!"

Willow looked to Kytti, nodded and gently bleated, then charged towards the Girafarig and blurred just before making contact.

Feeling Trist was reasonably calmed now despite the Faint Attack, Mina said, "Double Kick!"

Trist dutifully obeyed, and directed two swift hooves at the Deerling's retreating form.

Willow narrowly avoided the lashing kick from the Girafarig's hooves and moved around for another attack.
"Again Willow, another Faint Attack!" commanded Kytti happily.
Her Deerling happily obeyed and rushed forth for another fading attack.

Another faint attack, another kick. When Trist thought the Deerling was close and felt her blow, he struck out with his hooves, hoping to land a hit.
