Padding lightly, Avani had a wide grin on her face as she walked through the grass. Thing were finally all ironed-out and settled with her beloved, and nothing made her happier than that. It had been rough, when they were at-odds with each other over the direction of their future; she had hated every second of it, but she wanted to finally be able to stand her ground, at least this once.
And honestly, Pumilio was quite stubborn, and he rarely put his desires second. Avani knew that there were times when he got a little blinded, hiding his own desires behind the thought of it all being for her. He was sweet, though, in his own way, and that's probably why she stayed. But soon, life as she knew it would be changing. For the better, she thought. Pumi had met another leopard, and was confident in that leopard's colony, so they had decided that they would go ahead with them and join.
And then....a family was next. With this added assurance, Pumi was quite determined to finally start a family together. It made Avani so incredibly nervous, but she was now confident that it was the right decision. And now, she was making one of her last rounds in the open lands before those changes were made.

Mihkokwan wandered along aimlessly through the long grass all around her. She had been feeling a little tired today, and as a result there was slightly less bounce in her step than usual. Though not to be mistaken that she was in a bad mood- the young, muscular lioness was rarely if ever in a bad mood, it was just that she'd been playing hard all morning chasing bunnies trying to catch them, and chasing butterflies for fun. Now she was just hungry and kind of pooped out. Some water would have been nice right about now...The rust-colored female swished her tail behind her, peering over the grasses, but not watching where she was going very well. Before she even knew what was happening, Mihko had stumbled over a rock and gone rear-over-tea-kettle tumbling onto the ground.
Mihko giggled to herself at the tumble, although at the same time wishing she had been paying more attention to where she was going, "Ooops!" She exclaimed, still laughing at herself. At least the lioness had a sense of humour. Many other creatures would have been upset at this. She shook herself off as she pulled herself back up to her paws. As the female stood- now facing a different direction, she noticed the dark brown-furred form of another creature. It looked similiar to her own species, but at the same time there was something different about it. And Mihko was up-wind, so there was no scent at all to aid in her curiosity of what it could be.
"I know! I'll go and say hi and see what it is!?" She laughed and then tore off in the direction of the other creature, no thoughts of possible repercussions for just going a-bounding on up to someone.

Pausing briefly in her tracks, Avani lifted her head up a little, feeling a soft breeze on her cheeks. It all felt so nice, and it made her a little sad; though, she didn't really know why. Even if she were to join a colony, things like this wouldn't change. The wind would still blow, the sun would still set, and the ground would always feel this nice beneath her paws. She wouldn't really be losing anything; if anything, she was gaining a whole lot.
Shifting her grey eyes, Avani heard a soft sound not too far off. Her ears swiveled towards it, but her eyes weren't able to find its source. Maybe she was getting rusty, having been cooped up and forced to stay put while Pumilio went out and hunted each night. If they were joining a colony, she'd definitely have to brush up on her skills again, especially since she wasn't all that old at all.
Standing still, she searched, pausing only for....a scent? It seemed to drift towards her, and she turned abruptly towards where the wind was blowing, he eyes falling upon a paler figure coming towards her.

The friendly young lioness slowed her gait as she approached closer, making sure to give the other creature space at least enough to get a good look at her. Since Mihko was near always smiling, this wasn't usually an issue, as it was easy for other creatures to tell that she meant no ill. Although little Mihko was never really thinking about the fact that despite her looking friendly and happy, other creatures may not always be. She had been attacked enough times that she should know these things, but they didn't often come to mind. She lowered her head a little, mouth open, now able to take the other creatures' scent from the breeze.
"Hi!" Mihko called to what she now knew was a leopardess, grinning wide at her and flicking her tail excitedly. The rust-colored female always got excited when she was meeting new people, and sometimes it was really hard for her to mask the excitement and to not be overbearing. Sometimes new creatures didn't like her very much because she was happy, or friendly, or maybe they had their own other reasons...She tried not too worry too much, because in Mihko's eyes, there was nothing at all wrong with her, and there was no point sulking about ever. "Were you looking for stuff in the grass?" She inquired, giggling. It may have seemed a silly question to a stranger, but Mihko had found some pretty neat stuff in the grass before- in her opinion. So it seemed a valid question to her.

Looking at the other, Avani felt a bit...shocked, for one. She was a little disappointed in herself for not noticing her presence sooner, which lead her to think "what if it was someone else? Someone not so nice?" Well, she was assuming that this paler lioness was kind; if Pumilio had a voice in her thoughts, he would have definitely scolded her for trusting a stranger so easily.
Realizing that she was still staring, Avani shook her head lightly, trying to bring a kinder look to her dark and colorless eyes. "Um, hello." Her voice was soft and sweet, but anyone could tell that she was a little surprised by the sudden appearance of this lioness. She looked at her for a good while before responding, trying to take her in. She looked even younger than Avani, and probably ten times happier. Not that Avani wasn't happy, she just didn't seem to show it often.
"Oh, no, I was just going on one last round of the area before I leave it." Looking back out at the vast lands, it was a nice feeling standing in them.

Mihkokwan grinned and flicked her tail. She hadn't really noticed the leopardess staring at her, but if she had it wouldn't have mattered. The orange-furred female sometimes stared at others, so she likely would have understood. It seemed for a moment as though the other female were unhappy, but she shook that and then responded to what Mihko had asked her upon approach. The young lioness got excited again, wiggling in place and her bright blue eyes looked up to the other, smile nearly bursting. "Oh, I just asked because sometimes I find pretty neat stuff in the grass, you know..." The lioness trailed off for a moment, looking down as she said the word grass, "I just thought maybe some other creatures might look for interesting stuff too." She giggled, flicking her ears.
The rust-colored female reclined to her haunches and then after a brief moment shifted her weight. It was so hard for Mihko to sit still sometimes. "What do you mean before you leave?" She inquired, hoping it wasn't because of her that the other female was leaving. "Is this your home?" Mihko asked again, lowering her ears for a moment, "I hope I'm not intruding..." She trailed off, looking sheepishly down at her paws.

"Oh...I see." Avani looked back at the lioness; she was different than most others she had met, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Though, she had never thought to look for things in the grass, but maybe this lioness had a reason to.
"I don't really....have much reason to. Though, I suppose you could probably find some interesting things if you looked hard enough." Giving a small smile, Avani wasn't sure what else to say at that. Feeling the conversation shift a bit, though, she looked down at her paws. "Oh, well, I'll be joining a bigger group of leopards with my mate." Eyes easing, she felt more relaxed talking about it now. "This area has been my home for quite some time; but don't worry, you're not intruding on anything at all. It's a pretty nice area." Looking back at the lioness, she felt a bit bad saying it was her home. Sure, she'd lived here, but one couldn't really claim a place out here in the open, could they?

The rust-colored female was relieved to know that the leopardess wasn't leaving because of her, and she breathed a little sigh. It seemed as if the other female was sort of sad about leaving her home, though there was obvious excitement when she said that she was going to join a group with her mate. Mihko didn't really know much about prides, or...whatever it would be that a leopard would call their group, nor about mates, but she assumes that it would be an exciting thing.
The other seemed to relax a little as she spoke, and Mihko just smiled kindly. "Maybe I will look around later then." She said, her eyes lighting up a bit. She wouldn't go looking right now, as she had stumbled upon company now and didn't want to be rude. "That will be nice. Do you have cubs too?" The young lioness inquired, though she didn't really think that the leopardess did, as there didn't seem to be anyone else around. It just made sense for Mihko to ask the question, as the other had mentioned her mate...
"I've never been to this place before, but it does look really nice around here." The orange-furred lioness smiled again and glanced about.

Oh. Oh, that made Avani's face heat up. "C-cubs?" Laughing nervously, she shuffled at the ground below her. "W-well, I guess we're planning on it, which is partially why we're joining, but...not...currently." Looking a little sheepish, her eyes found their way back to the lioness. She was a little embarrassed talking about such things, but that was probably because she cared so much for Pumilio.
"Oh, it's been such a nice home for such a long time." Grinning as she thought of all the memories they had made her, it made Avani feel a bit older than she actually was. Sure, she and her mate had been together for such a long time, but that was because he had found her when she was just a cub, and he was not much older.
"Ah! I just realized I never introduced myself. My name is Avani." Tilting her head slightly as she smiled, Avani always thought it was good manners to introduce yourself to someone you thought was kind and decent.

Mihko felt embarassed at the leopardess' reaction to her asking about cubs. Oops! She thought to herself, and giggled a little for lack of something better to do. She flicked her ears and raised her eyebrows a little, wiggling in place. "I'm sorry for asking, I don't want to make you feel weird about it." The rust-colored lioness offered apologetically, she was sure that it was a strange thing to be thinking about, and for a moment wondered if it was something she would ever be thinking about...Mihko shook that thought from her head for later. "That's nice though, you're beautiful, and I bet you would have lovely little ones." The young lioness smiled and nodded lightly.
"I'm glad..." Mihko trailed off, she was happy that this female was friendly like she was, and it made her happy to see that someone else was so happy, also. "You seem very happy. And you're really nice." She grinned, flicking her tail.
"My name is Mihkokwan, but you can call me Mihko if you like. Most others that I get around to introducing myself to, do." She giggled a little and her bright blue eyes lit up. The young muscular lioness almost wondered why it had taken almost her whole life to meet creatures that seemed like they could be friends, but dismissed it immediately, as it didn't really seem too important. She would just be thankful for having it now. The rust-colored lioness offered another kind smile to Avani. "I'm very pleased to meet you."

"Oh, don't be sorry, it's a perfectly reasonable thing to ask." Smiling nervously, Avani really shouldn't have gotten that worked up about it. They had, after all, been in talks about it, so it's not like she had never entertained the thought before. "Oh! Why thank you." She felt so...flattered. No one but Pumilio had ever given her such a compliment. She never really thought of herself like that all too often, but it was definitely nice. Yeah, really nice.
"Mihkokwan, huh? That's such a nice name. You don't hear names like that too often around here." There really was something a little...exotic, maybe? Avani didn't know where it could have been from, but it was still pretty. "Yes! It's very nice to meet you, as well. I don't usually get to talk to too many others, outside of my mate." Laughing nervously, she hadn't been able to get out too much recently. It was a little sad, but hopefully all of that was going to change soon.

Mihko grinned as Avani dismissed her question. She was relieved, for Mihko hated to be rude, and for the moment she had been wondering, she had 'held her breath' per the expression- not literally. The young lioness was always happy to give compliments. There was something about everyone that Mihko would tend to like. Sometimes, there wasn't opportunity to find said thing, but that was through no fault of her own- and she hadn't lied, the leopardess really was quite lovely. Mihko flicked her red tail behind her as she glanced about briefly, then looked back to Avani.
The orange-furred lioness grinned and flicked her ears with a small nod toward the leopardess as she commented on her name. "And thank you, as well. I'm not sure where my name comes from," Mihko stopped for a moment and shrugged for emphasis, "My parents were gone when I was very small, so I've never had the opportunity to ask." Her bright blue eyes were sad for a moment, though Mihkokwan smiled brightly still.
"I don't talk to many others either, anyways." She said, changing topics. Mihko didn't want to be sad, she was in fine company and it wasn't too bad of a day, "Since I'm usually wandering...well I'm sure you know how it is." The rust-colored lioness chuckled softly.
