With each new generation of the pokemon games, there seems to be a common game-play ideal which has served the games for little over a decade. You "gotta catch them all" but as each gen introduces new pokemon to catch and train. Is it now even more difficult for gamers and pokefans to catch them all or even want to? Or does adding new pokemon revive the series that started back in 1997? I for one think that what the pokemon series needs now is more renovation geared towards Western gamers. Since there are so many pokemon that hold Japanese cultural meaning.

Since Gen 4 you really only need to see them all sweatdrop
I think the adding of more pokemon serves multiple meanings, such as keeping things fresh in terms of pokemon you can find, and how to use different kinds of pokemon
Though at this point they've made so many pokemon they could probably just switch what you can catch, town names, and concepts (such as double grass, and hidden hollows) to keep the games alive
