It did not take long for the fog to seep back into Deus, though not notable different at first. Just a few hours, passing moments when the sun seemed to flicker, the clouds seemed to thicken and remind all occupants of the Island of something just beneath the skin, a light agitation that was-
- What exactly?
Wilson however, had very little time for idle fancies, as he received a slightly important text that particular afternoon:Text from Mark You're free right? How good are your surveillance skills? Text From Mark As in free, as in you know, I'm broke Text From Mark Oh wait you're a trainee anyway, ignore that okay. Text from Mark So anyway, I order you to come to my office right now! Text from Mark .... I mean my... boss's office....yes.... Text from Mark And maybe bring some other minion-err I man trainees. Yes... Syusaki - Wilson can bring UP TO two other trainees for this mission!

“Hmmm.” Wilson thoughtfully stared out one of the windows in Gale’s house. He paid extra attention to the sun while it occasionally flickered in and out, hiding behind clouds. The few weeks of sunshine had been relaxing, but it seemed that would be ending soon. His fingers tapped against the windowsill while he continued to ponder idly.
Well, until his cell phone rang. He was beginning to take it out of his jacket pocket when it rang again. Wilson furrowed his brows. The trainee stared at his phone as it continued to ring. “What the…” He tilted his head to the side as he read the sender’s name. Mark. The name was sort of familiar. He was pretty sure he had seen the dude a couple times, but only in fleeting glances.Text from Wilson uh i think my skills are ok. on my way He quietly closed the door behind him as he sifted through his contact list. His gut reaction had been to invite Dakota and Ami, but uh, those weren’t very wise choices at the moment. There was a quick, painful pang in his chest. The corner of his mouth twitched as he pulled out two different names.LP could you come to caelius’ office? i think it’s a mission LividPeas could you come to caelius’ office? i think it’s a mission Wilson put his phone away and headed toward said office. Well, Mark hadn’t explicitly stated it, but it seemed like the likely conclusion.

Kat hated receiving texts as of late. Whenever she received a text, it was either bad news, or a mission. Or both. Flipping open her phone, sure enough, there was a text from Wilson about a possible mission. Now, as long as it wasn't like their last mission together, along with Ami and Marcus, then it would be fine. Possibly..actually, she highly doubted those chances of it being so. Snapping her phone shut, she headed for the door and made her way down the halls of Deus.
When she arrived, she could already see Wilson waiting for her. No one else came in to view right away, if there was anyone about at the moment. Offering a wave in greeting to the death hunter, Kat stopped beside Wilson. "Hey, Wilson. Got the text. Anyone else showing up?"

Aleister showed up a few moments later carrying a poptart in a hand. He blinked, "Hey Wilson." He paused for a moment to stare at Caelius' door and then glanced back to Kat with a smile and nod. "Do you two want poptarts?"
Apparently they'd caught him in one of his snacking moods. The blonde death trainee seemed happy enough munching on the pastery with colorful sprinkles on it. "They're Vanilla Ice-scream flavored. Not too bad."

The door popped open, one messy brown-haired shaggy excuse of a Hunter wearing a pair of (BRAND NEW) goggles gave them a wild-eyed stare and then held one finger up as if to say "SHHHH" and slammed the door closed again.
A few seconds later the door opened again, Mark looking sheepish as he let the trainees in, but not before giving Kat a double-take, making a cross with his fingers to you know, ward off the spawn of Satan.
The office was actually empty, other than Mark that was, the usual cluster of notes pinned up against one side of the wall, the desk immaculate except for an odd cluster of beer bottles and folders propped next to a humming Runic laptop. The Death assistant took no time to occupy the chair, putting his feet up against the desk because he was totally the boss. "Now that you have gathered here, my minions," he made sure to assert that word loudly, you know, for certain hellspawn to hear, "I will outline with you the guidelines of this mission, yes." Insert hand steepling and then a sip of beer that he ended up half-spilling down his shirt and choking on.
A pause as Mark glared at them in a sort of tell anyone and you shall suffer puny mortals sort of way as he regained his demeanor. "Now, things are going down with the man down south, well, technically north of us, but you know southish, actually I'm pretty sure its more east than south but anyway, things are going down, and I am way, way, way, waaaay too busy to have to deal with such meaningless trivial matters obviously because of my amazing and awesome status so you will be going in my stead. As a mission. A mandatory mission. Because I summoned you!"
The Death assistant seemed to be pleased with himself. "Now, any questions?"

Kat shook her head when offered the poptart, not caring much for the pastry. "Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass." Turning to look at who entered the room after, she wasn't at all surprised to see who it was. Well, well..if it wasn't Mark. Sporting new goggles even. "Nice goggles." the hunter grinned, folding her arms, knowing full well why he needed a new pair in the first place. Her amusement only grew as he made a cross with his fingers at her, which she responded with a wider grin.
Following Mark into the office along with Wilson and Aleister, she was a little shocked to see the state it was in. And where was Caelius? Raising a brow, Kat watched quietly as Mark proceeded to sit, propping his feet up on Caelius's desk even. Narrowing her eyes at the sight, she knew something was up.
And there it was. His minions? Folding her arms, the sun hunter shifted her weight and waited for him to continue when he grabbed for the beer. Not only did he manage to spill most of it, but he also choked on it.
Up went Kat's arm with phone in hand, taking two unflattering photos of the hunter. "They say a picture says a thousand words..and I have two." Grinning, she snapped the phone shut, and tucked it away in her pocket. She was no one's minion. Especially, Mark's.
Once he had finished explaining--sort of--what was happening, she paused before speaking when asked if they had any questions. "Just one: what is the mission?"

He waved at Aleister and Kat when they arrived. Wilson was pleasantly surprised at the poptarts, but nodded his head and took one. “Sure!” He wasn’t too sure what to expect when he found a brunette hunter answering the door. He blinked a couple times as Mark closed the door and then opened it again. Wilson gave the Death hunter a questioning look before he walked into the office. Lips curled into a tiny frown when he took in the room’s messy state. Caelius had always struck Wilson as the neat and tidy type. Maybe the mess was Mark’s doing?
He grinned when Kat mentioned goggles. Wilson looked at the goggles and nodded with approval. “Yeah, they’re pretty nice.” [Not as nice as me, right?]
Kat didn’t look pleased at being called a minion, but Wilson just smiled awkwardly and laughed. “Haha…” Was it just him, or did Mark like to omit certain important facts? He glanced at Kat. “As Kat mentioned, if you could elaborate on the mission details that would be lovely.” Wilson looked back at Mark and narrowed his eyes slightly. Huh. Had he seen Mark before? He looked familiar, especially the particular shade of green in his eyes. ovoa

Aleister handed Wilson a poptart when the door open the Hunter's purple eyes slid over hoping that wasn't Caelius. He'd actually froze for a second, but when realizing it was Mark he relaxed.
At the sight of the mess he was glad Simon wasn't here. The Sun's assistant would probably have those dual guns pointed at everyone waiting for them to clean up.
"Yeah details would be nice...." He said with a pause looking at the mess again, not bothering with the fact Mark decided to choke on beer for a second. Actually Al was hoping this wasn't a mission of ' clean up before Mother Bear Caelius comes home'. Al finished his poptart as he mused at how long it would actually take to get this place clean.

What details? Mark narrowed his eyes at the trainees. Was this some sort of like, trainee hazing test? Because he was above those kind of things, way, way above. A pedestal, standing high on a hill on a mountain on another pedestal!
"Do not question my ways, minions, for I, Mark, am far more superior and amazing than you can possibly imagine. Superior!" Unfortunately that still did not answer any of the trainee's questions, and there passed a moment where they all just stood there kind of awkwardly.
"So like," the Death assistant finally prodded, "Are you gonna get to the lighthouse portal or not?"

Aleister stood there staring at Mark. "...It would help if we knew what we were doing. Picking something up? Watching someone? Getting our butts beat again by horsemen..... But eh if you're going to just send us in blind.... oh well~." Al was getting a bit bored of the big guy's 'sidekicks' the last one took him for 600 bucks... him and Syd still needed to find two more people so that it was worth the 600.
He shrugged tossing a poptart to mark. "Here have the extra one."
"I hope Caelius doesn't hear him yelling about being Superior." He added to Wilson in a half whisper. As he started to move with a shrug, "Lets go get our asses kicked with very vague information."

Mark looked at them suspiciously. Wilson returned the look with a wide-eyed, confused one. Details. They wanted to hear the mission details. What was wrong with that? Sure, Caelius tended to leave them rather in the dark about these things, but Mark wasn’t as mean as Caelius right? Right?
His expression became blank when Mark still didn’t elaborate on the mission to them. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other. “I’ll admit that you are our senior, which makes you our superior. I think.” Wilson half-nodded to Aleister. “What Al said. What are we supposed to be doing on the mission? What’s the location? Any details about the location we should know?” He shrugged and tugged at Aleister’s sleeve and waved for Kat to begin moving.
“I don’t have a very good feeling about this, but let’s try to get through this in one piece, I guess?”

Apparently, Mark had no wish to fill them in on the details of the mission. Well fine. If things went bad on this mission, then she would make Mark's life a living hell when she got back. Starting with sending everyone in Deus the photos she had just taken. If she remembered too anyways..Kat's mind was lacking in memory.
Nodding to Wilson, she began to follow him out of the office. "I'm not so sure how Caelius will feel about him referring to himself as superior, but I bet he will be pissed off about his office looking like a local pub."
Shrugging Kat folded her arms and looked to the two. "Well, I guess it wouldn't be much different from any other mission, really." They were left in the dark on missions..a lot.

"I do not respond to devil speak!" Mark made sure to make the sigil of the cross again you know, for extra measure. His other hand also strayed up to his goggles to make sure they were still there. However, at Aleister 's poptart being offered, the Death assistant seemed to calm down, or at least be temporarily placated as he took a bite, realized he hadn't really eaten anything all day unless beer counted as a solid substance, and then wolfed the whole thing down.
"Fine then, I accept your offering." Mark spewed out poptart crumbs everywhere as he grabbed what seemed like a random sheet of paper off the desk. "It's not a hard mission, but its extra work and work is hard. Anyway, simple reconnaissance mission, which is why I was looking for Death hunters and not devil spawn." He proceeded to randomly pointed at someone, which just happened to be Wilson. "Okay you are in charge of the team, or well you three will be acting as the guinua pi- errr I mean the um, the uh.. pre-mission team yeah, yeah. Just make the sure the place is safe, it isn't booby trapped and get some Fear readings for me, yeah, that should be it. And oh don't talk to strangers that would be bad. Well you two-" Here, Mark pointed to Wilson and Aleister - "shouldn't but she can all she wants okay. Probably mingle with her own kind. SATAN WORSHIPPERS!"
A pause. "And like, headsets are at the portal, along with some basic equipment, plus I'll be guiding you the whole way you know, so just follow my awesome, simple, clear and easy instructions okay?" The Death assistant concluded by placing his two feet back on the table. "Now begone with you, my minions!"
*
There was indeed a extremely disgruntled sentry at the Lighthouse portal who handed each trainee a simple Fear scanner and headphone set. They promptly returned to playing Tetris on their cell phone though the second the trainees stepped through.
A strong orange glow seemed to encompass the area, followed by thick wild grass and signs of aged concrete and brick. It seemed late afternoon, almost evening, the air thick and warm, several buzzing insects inherent around. The trainees stood on a crude imitation of a road, the rugged pebble leading up to a few what seemed deserted houses and then a barbed metal fence that clearly read 'PRIVATE PROPERTY: TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED'. Within the fence vicinity was a decrepit looking excuse of a building, an apartment or hotel perhaps, bits and pieces of graffiti littered on every wall.
"Okay," Mark's voice came clear through the headset, "You need to get across the fence first. Don't make any holes and stuff cuz that would alert the police and you'll get busted, try looking for any sort of opening." CROSSING THE THRESHOLD - Trainees need to look for any sort of OPENING in the fence. Roll a 100-sided dice. If 80 or higher they find an opening! Once ANYONE has, all other trainees can follow them inside.

Another confused look from Wilson. What part of the trainees’ words had been devil speak? He looked to Aleister and Kat for some clarification, but he didn’t think they knew the answer either. He nodded his head at the word ‘reconnaissance.’ Knowing the purpose of the mission put Wilson slightly at ease, but he still would have liked to have known where they were going. Wilson frowned at Mark. “Kat’s not a devil spawn.” He furrowed his brows and pointed to himself. He was in charge? “Uhhh okay then.” [Guinea pigs. Wow, that makes me feel so confident—] Not now, Gramps.
When they arrived at the portal, Wilson gladly slipped on the headset and took the scanner. The area was bathed in an odd orange glow, but Wilson ignored it for now. He looked around at the road and grass and abandoned houses. The trainee’s gaze lingered on the building that looked almost like a hotel until Mark’s voice crackled over the headset. “Got it,” he confirmed and walked toward the fence, scanning a portion of it for any openings, but nope.

<Can I burn the guy Al,? All you have to do is hit him a few times.> Pookie didn't seem impressed by the way Mark was acting.
<Nawh, Cael'll take care of him.... Well.... maybe if when we come back......> Aleister frowned at the mention of guinea pigs. And eyeing Kat he looked back at Mark, "It's probably a good idea for us to have someone that can.... ya know protect us. I mean you know 'cause if we're busy looking for things and something tries to jump our backs. Some good old Sunny fire power will take care of it."
He nodded, well they weren't moon or mist but still they were pretty crunchy... "It'd be like sending fire pokemon into a battle against water pokemon." Maybe Mark would understand what he was trying to say.
---
It didn't take long for Al to follow Wilson and Kat though. He took the scanner and headset adjusting it so he'd have it comfortable. Watching the guy at the portal going back to playing his games. Great.
There was another pause after they reached their location. "... we have to find a way...... really?" He asked at mark's voice giving them the information about finding a way through the fence. ".... Couldn't've just portaled us to the other side...." Oh wait that'd be too easy....
Al started looking around, pausing. "Over here." He called pointing to an opening in the fence. Not sure if he wanted to know how it got there or not.
