An idea I've been working on. I'm gonna be working the old captains into a sort of mythology. Here's what I have so far on the actual gods and goddesses themselves.

Daven, Daven of the Earth, Daven the Earth-Splitter, the Father of Creation. A god of such surpassing power that he split a mountain in two with his naginata, and from the great wound in the earth he called forth the null-rock sekiseki, and the rock did heed his words, and with his words did Daven form the Sereitei. Yukimaru, The Great Dragon, Mistress of the Flames, Goddess of Passion and Combat, Patron of Soldiers and the Dedicated. Into this woman was gifted the whole of the Father’s great burning love, to the most noble of his children. In all things did she embody this passion for home and for countryman, and the battles which she led are the greatest of victories. In the field of battle, her iron claws ravaged the foes in her path effortlessly and with the most brutal of efficiency. When the tide of battle turned against her, and the sea of Hollow Men threatened to route her forces, the Goddess called a retreat of her soldiers and brought forth the fell beast Arthion, ruler of the Dragon-kin, who felled ten scores of the enemy in an instant and twenty score the next. The overwhelming forces that faced her were swept away by fire and fear, never to return. When the Father met death, inviting in that which he had shut out for many years, it was to Yukimaru he gifted the protection of his great kingdom.
