Was it a strange thing to say that he just happened to be in the area? Really that was all that it was, just passing by on his way from one place to another, and could care less about what it was that was going on nearby. It had sounded a little on the loud side, the ground shook a touch, but none of it concerned him, not really, so he hadn't even blinked his good eye. It was only when he felt something that did draw his attention that he turned his strangely colored eyes toward the ruins of Poena Privus. He knew only what little he gathered on the winds about that place and who lived there, people that he felt that he could respect just due to their views on the Witch Eaters as well as the Majin on a whole. Were it not for the fact that he wasn't all that good with people and didn't exactly know how to approached them he might actually visit, to look in the Reaper and Blackhearts, he had to admit he was a little curious. It would be an interesting sort of visit but alas he really wouldn't have any reasoning behind his visit other then a mutual dislike of something, he didn't even know a single member of the organization, did he? Outside of his own people he had only a short list of others and, much to his regret, not a one was a Reaper or Blackheart.
"Hrm, something feels a little odd." He mused to himself, lifting his fan up with his good hand and used it to shield himself from the sun so that he could get a better look at the crumbling structure. It wasn't the building itself, wasn't any of the people contained within, it was anything like that which called out to him but instead it was a, "Spirit?" He murmured, this was strange, he wasn't sure why but that one, it didn't feel as though it belonged in this place. Was it lost? Perhaps attached to some item that the people of that place had recently acquired? He'd seen such a thing happen before. Shifting in place Luciel found himself weighing his options, he could stop and help the lost spirit, risking losing a lot of time, or he could continue on his way. The latter option being one that he didn't consider for even a moment. He was what he was, he felt a connection to the spirit world, and he could just leave one of them lost and wandering forever. It might never make it back to where it wished to be on its own after all.
Glancing from side to side, to make sure nobody was around that could get underfoot, the blond drifted forward quickly and quietly, the only sound he seemed to make was the fluttering of his tricolor robes. As he got closer to the wandering spirit he gave a smile, "Hello there my lost little spirit, do you perhaps need a hand? I have at least the one to offer." He murmured, closing his fan with a snap, attached it to his belt, and held the other one out toward the spirit that was before him. As per usual his other arm, hidden by a long sleeve, was held behind his back. He was a secretive sort, the sort that hid parts of himself constantly, and unconsciously anymore it was such a natural thing to do, "My name is Luciel, I am here to help you, if you wish for my help that is." He knew how vengeful spirits could be, he'd been possessed by one in a way, and as such he needed to be careful around this one, offering help but not in a pushy manner. One couldn't make a spirit do anything it didn't want to do, not without a lot of energy, a rather involved ritual, and all the right tools... none of which he had at the moment save perhaps the energy but he wasn't about to overexert that, not when it was hours yet before the moon rose.
"You needn't be shy, just tell me where you need to be. I can tell you are lost." Though this close he could also tell that this wasn't just any normal spirit, it felt oddly stronger and in some strange sense of the word it felt more 'alive' then a normal spirit. Odd, but fascinating, the sort of spirit he just wanted to learn more about. It would appear as though he had a far easier time dealing with the dead then he did the living, but then again their needs were often far more simple, each having a regret that held them back from moving on. He felt it was likely that for this one it was that it was in the wrong place but he would learn more so long as the spirit came to trust him enough to speak with him.

Cedar's soul had trudged its way from the inner walls to the outside. But by the time she got there her body had been taken. Her body rested in Makai with Eir, who was preparing the summons. She could feel the pull, but her magic just wasn't strong enough. Her body would die before she was able to reach it. Cedar's magic itself wasn't strong enough for her to move from rock and stone to trees. And as it was, moving through rock was hard enough. It wasn't living and breathing so to speak like other plant life. It was draining to navigate it at the level Cedar was at right now.
The longing was almost heart breaking. She didn't want to die, this was such a bad way to go. But it wasn't to long after everything started to quite down that someone new had approached. Literally speaking to her. Her life force fluctuated and she listened careful, but she was so tired. She would die staying there so the only option she had was to reach out for this person offering help.
Reaching out for him she pulled out off the stone wall and pooled into his hand. Instantly she felt a bit more energized. There was something different about this boy. Maybe he... Well there was no maybe. He was able to see spirits. She communicated to him that she had been separated from her body while using her magic. That her body was taken to Makai and without reconnected her body would die.

Luciel watched as the spirit came to his hand, giving a smile, "There you go." He murmured, his long ears giving the slightest twitch as he heard the voice of this particular spirit as it, no not it she, as she spoke to him and he couldn't help but to stare, his one good eye going wide, "You are still alive?" Separated from her body while using magic? He'd heard of such things before, but never before had he seen such a spell or it's dangerous side effects. Her body was taken to Makai...? He glanced in that direction and he gave the slightest of shivers. Going in that direction would take him far off the normal path he walked, not only that but it would mean finding her body somewhere in Makai which was a big place and not a place a loner like him wanted to go. Even as he thought of all of the negatives, the biggest ones being the Majin that would be present in such a big city, he knew that he had to go, didn't he? The spirit said that she would die without aid, she needed to return to her body, and given who and what he was he couldn't abandon her to his fate just because something he loathed might be present, he wasn't as cruel as that.
"I think we should begin on the road toward Makai then, shouldn't we?" He said to her, giving her a bit of a smile. While he didn't much care for cities, not in the least bit, perhaps they would find themselves lucky and arrive at night when there were fewer people roaming about? That was his dream at least, "It's going to be a bit of walk to get the two of us from where we are to where we are going on foot but I promise we will get there." He said in what he hoped would be a reassuring tone of voice before he turned toward the direction the two of them would need to take to get to that particular town. At least it was a little smaller then some places then she could have been brought to he thought to himself, finding some relief in that as he walked along. The blond seemed to be taking longer strides then normal, as though he were trying to cover more ground with each step then normal. Usually he just sort of meandered along between each point in his journey, never in a huge rush other then when it came to avoiding certain things, but this time around he had more of a reason to reach his destination.
"I am sure that it is difficult, having to rely on a stranger, but it's going to be alright." He told the spirit he was carrying, hoping that she would believe in him and his desire to help her to get back to her body, to see her whole again. It wasn't often that one had a chance at such a quest, normally the spirits he talked with were long dead and happened to be walking in the same direction as him as he continued on his never ending journey, acting ever like a wandering monk.

Cedar felt as if she could rest easy knowing he would help. She twinkled up at him and rested against his palm. He seemed to be surprised that she had a living body though. She knew it was hard magic to learn, but was it really that unusual?
"Have you never seen magic like this?" She asked him. "I never knew how to use this magic until a special teacher came and helped me learn how." She noticed that the boy seemed to be taking larger steps. She floated near his fingers tips. "But I was always scared too.. I've only ever used it, outside the 'classroom' twice. I guess its just my luck... Right?" Her light twinkled and sparkled with a small laugh.
But that laugh seem to take away the little energy she had regained by being in his presence. "They would have gone to Eir.. My healer." She told him the general location of her shop in Makai. And about how she had already started her healing. But she was to far from her for her to be pulled back.
After some time had pasted and she had rested. Her soul just watched the boy carrying her. She wasn't exactly able to 'see', it was more of sensing and she couldn't verbally speak with him. His magic was allowing her to communicate with him. But it was around that time that she realized she hadn't introduced herself.
"My name is Cedar Rayne."

Luciel gave a smile when the spirit spoke to him, asking if he'd never seen magic like this before, "I've heard of it before but I haven't ever seen it before now." Such a power seemed like an interesting one though at the same time he saw before him the dangers of using such a power. To think that your body could just end up getting lost like that, it was certainly nothing something that he would consider using himself. When he spirit mentioned that he'd only ever used the power outside of the classroom twice and that this was just her luck he seemed to fumble with a response. He didn't know were well enough to assume her luck ran one way of the other after all. One of his long ears gave a twitch before he gave a bit of a smile, "Well, let us hope my appearance means that your luck has taken a turn for the better." He said finally, deciding that it was the best way to answer such a question.
As the spirit told him who had her body and where to find it he gave the slightest wince. So he would need to go into town, huh? That didn't sound like any fun at all, did it? Still, he couldn't very well leave her alone in this condition else she might end up lost forever and surely it wasn't good for the body to be without its spirit for so long, "We will see about getting you back to the one called Eir as soon as possible." He told her, while it might take longer then he would like he meant to cover as much ground as he could as quickly as he could, at least as much as he could without straining the two of them. It would be a lot easier to travel come night time since the moon's light always energized him.
A bit of time had passed, enough so that he was now walking long the wide inlet of water that separated the ruins of Poena Privus from Makai. The breeze coming in off the water was a nice one, blowing through his hair and robes, helping to cool him off a bit. His good hand was was still holding the spirit protectively to his chest when he heard her speak up again, something that startled him a little bit given that she had gone quiet sometime ago. He hadn't considered before that spirits might need rest but it would seem that this particular one did, didn't it? Glancing down at her he gave a bit of a smile when he realized that she was acting quite politely despite the situation, even introducing herself to him, "It is nice to meet you, Cedar, though the situation we met under could have been a better one." He said, then again if it were a normal day and normal circumstances the odds of them meeting would have been slim to none given he wouldn't normally just go up to a person and start chatting with them.
"My name is Luciel Vytautus." She had given her name so it was only right that he do the same he thought to himself as he continued along, "How are you feeling?" It would be best for him to ask, so that he knew how she was fairing during the journey they were taking from where she'd lost her body to where they would find it again. He wanted to make sure that she was doing alright after all, if she started to weaken he would need to either share his power with her or start walking a lot faster, maybe both.

If it was possible for he to smile at him, she would have. Cedar simply rested in his palm. The energy she had to use to move through the wall and now being outside her body. So she just tried to rest his presence was calming for her.
Meanwhile her body had been quickly returned to Makai and given to Eir who had started the ritual or whatever it was she called it. But something happened and she had woken up. The connect between his soul and body started to tear even more and the wounds she sustained became worse.
Her spirit ached and her light flickered. It hurt and she knew what happened. This enter day had been nothing but a nightmare... She wondered what it was that she did that put her in that position.
She needed to focus on anything and who better then her rescuer? "You're an excorsima?" She asked him weakly. She had met one other before though fairly briefly. "What is it that you do?"

If he were one for cursing Luciel might have done just that when he saw the way that the spirit he held in his hands flickered weakly, as if in pain. It was something he almost might find interesting if he wasn't holding a woman's life in his hands, that a spirit could act in such a manner. So this was the difference between the spirit of a living person and one that was long dead he thought to himself. When she asked him if he were an exorcisma he gave a nod, "You are quite perceptive, aren't you?" He asked of her, giving her a smile. He wondered if it were his powers that had given him away, he didn't know how well the other races could interact with the dead but it seemed to be something his own kind were quite good at.
"What is it that I do? Good question." What was it that he did? Mostly a lot of the same old stuff, "I am on a pilgrimage of sorts at the moment. I will introduce myself to most people as a monk when I run into them in fact." No reason to out himself when he knew full well that there were those out there that he couldn't trust. Best that they just think him a normal, everyday average holy man since that would allow him to move from place to place a lot more smoothly. The moment people realized that you could converse with the dead they instantly started to ask question, looking for information on loved ones, and telling them that he couldn't speak to those who moved on peacefully was never an answer that pleased them...
One of his ears gave a twitch before he shoved such thoughts aside, "And what about you, Cedar? What do you do on a normal day?" Days where she wasn't lost in such a severe manner that was he thought to himself. A part of him wanted to ask exactly who she'd ended up in such a situation but there was no need to pry, not when she wasn't feeling well. Later, perhaps.

A monk? He would introduce himself as a monk. That was a smart move Cedar thought to herself. Though she wondered had she met him under normal circumstances if they'd have talked like this? She seemed to start taking longer to respond. She could still feel the pain. And the closer they came to the town the more she could feel the pull of Eir's magic.
"That is a good idea." She whispered to the male. And when it came time for her response and it was just as soft. "I - own a shop and I sell - the produce from my families farm." He noticed that the male had ears like Cassiel's and had she been in her normal form she probably would have touched them. Which she knew Cassiel didn't like and shouldn't assume Luciel would either. "My parents inherited it from my fathers family and it keeps going... I guess I kind of let them down because I left the workers to manage it so I could live a different life. You know farmers, always hoping for sons." Her family had been so close for her late younger brother Ash Jr never got to know what he missed out on.
Cedar pushed her spirit against his fingers a little and then settled back down. It was going to be a long trip for both of them. But she if she lived she would need to find a way to thank him.
( Do you want to maybe do a little time jump when they're closer to the town? )

Luciel did his best to keep up his half of the conversation even though he was far from being a very social person. He struggled here and there for topics to go on about, even bring up the weather at one point, but so long as he was able to keep the spirit in his hands talking he would be happy. He knew that, as long as she was responding, even quietly so, that she was alright. As her answers seemed to get further and further apart he moved to walk that much more quickly, finding it to be the first time in a long time that he had run anywhere. Usually he just meandered around from place to place, content with going from shrine to shrine at his own pace, never really talking as much as he did today to Cedar in months normally. He was sure that he was going to be exhausted from both the chatting and the running by the time he got to his destination that was for sure.
"Hey, you still with me?" He asked of the one that he was holding, "We are getting pretty close now, I can see the town." He told her, wondering if she could see it or not or if she were only able to sense what was nearest to her. It was a strange thing, to see a spirit in this condition. It was so much different from how he usually saw them. It must be because of the hows and whys of her particular magic he thought to himself, one long ear giving a little twitch.
As they got closer he felt himself starting to slow down a bit in an unconscious manner that was due to his deeply ingrained avoidance of all towns this size. He had no real desire to come to a place this big, as such he did his best to avoid such places... and yet he he was moving toward a big town. He couldn't help but to feel a bit on edge, a bit dizzy, as if he might keel over at any moment as he approached the place. Giving a shake of his head he did his best to keep from allowing himself a moment of weakness that big. No, he had started this journey with Cedar and he meant to finish it, damn it. He wasn't going to let his fear of the Majin stop him when he was already as close as this... though the moment that she was in the clear and back with her body he meant to hightail it out of town, back to the forest, and probably fall over in relief. That had to be saved though, he couldn't flee until what he had to do what done! Of course between here and the one called Eir he would need to be on his best behavior, keep his hands to himself, and not let his inner darkness lash out were he to run across a Majin in this place... the last thing that he wanted was to be a part of starting an interracial war between the Majin and the Exorcisma. Instead more content with the idea of vanishing as quickly as possible without drawing anymore attention then he already had just by showing up.

Cedar wasn't able to see the city but she felt the pull. "Just on of outskirts... Eir's cottage." She whispered pushing against his fingers. "I can feel her pulling me." Cedar could feel herself starting to drift away... It was hard to remain with the Excorsima. But she couldn't just leave him after all this. "Go this way." She nudged him off the main pathway toward the town.
With some guidance from her she lead him down a small path toward Eir's cottage. This would be better for him, then Eir having gone into the city to her home. "See the cottage?" She asked flickering as Eir's magic pulled her but it seemed that Luciel's magic kept her from being taken from him? She tingled feeling all the different magic going on around her. They were so close.
In the cottage Eir was hard at work. Her magic was resonating that Cedar's so was close but for some reason it wasn't coming as quick as she would have thought. She tended to the bleeding wounds on Cedar's body. Everyone else had gone. Without her soul there Eir wouldn't be able too begin the real healing.

"The outskirts, huh? Good." He murmured, never having felt more relieved then in this moment. Looking at this particular city he knew that it was far bigger then anything that he would want to deal with. That the place they were heading for was at the outskirts of it, that meant that he wouldn't have to traverse the depths of the city, "Let's keep going then. We will get you there in no time." Alright he couldn't be certain of that but he could hope he thought to himself as he hurried along.
The way that the little spirit continued to bump and nudge against his good hand, seeming to lead the way, he found himself standing before the cabin that belonged to the one called Eir, "I see it." He said as he approached it, wondering if he should allow her to go to Eir of if he should make sure that she was delivered by his own hands. He considered it for a moment as he reached the cabin itself, shifted in place. Well... he was here so he should see her in, right? It was the polite thing to do under such strange and unexpected circumstances. Never before had anything drawn him away from the set path that he had been walking for years now in the way that this girl had been able to do. A very different thing for him to deal with but likely a good thing, he really did need to break the cycle that he was in after all, not that it was something he was really thinking about at this moment. Instead he was starring at the door to Eir's cabin, considering his next move. That move being for Luciel to lift a bare foot up to knock on the door since his good hand was still occupied holding Cedar. He could sense the magic in progress of the one inside of the cabin so he could only hope that Eir would notice the knocking over what she was doing.
"We are hear, Cedar, just a moment more and you will be back where you belong." He told the spirit, sounding a lot happier then was normal for him. After this was all over he swore he was going to need to sleep for a week to recover from the stress of it all as well as all of the running involved.

The door pushed open when he used his foot to knock. He would be able to hear a female chanting up stairs and the smell of herbs that would lead him to the room where he needed to be. But by the time he got up there Eir had been so exhausted that she had leaned back against the wall and fallen asleep. She had known he had come with Cedar's soul, she was able to sense it.
When Luciel walked into the room she would see Cedar's battered and bleeding body laying on the bed. Someone had been changing her bandages and tending to her the best they could in the situation. Once the excrosima had come in Cedar was able to feel the draw of not only Eir's magic but her own body. She would slip from his fingers and floating down to her body.
When the glowing orb vanish into the body color seemed to fill the skin but it took a few moments before Cedar's eyes fluttered open filled with tears. Everything ached and hurt, she took in a huge breath, it felt like she was going to suffocate as she gasped for air. It was strange being back in her form, her olive eyes glanced around as she tried to move seeing her friend and then Luciel.
Her breath shuddering as she smiled at him a little. If she was able to she would have pounced him and not let go. She wouldn't be there without him.

It felt quite strange, just barging on into someone's home but he figured that it was for the best, he was trying to save this young woman's life after all, he couldn't be concerned with proper etiquette. He just wouldn't bring this up when he was within earshot of the man who raised him, that was all. The man was the sort that was for proper etiquette, manners, politeness in conversation and actions, quite different from Luciel though that could be due to life leading them down two very different paths. Following along after the strong scent of herbs that filled the air, looking around to where the woman had collapsed against the wall, seeming to be exhausted to the point that she'd dropped, "Seems we made it just in time." He told the ball of light that he was holding in his hand.
As he took a couple steps closer, taking in the look of the girl's rather broken form, he couldn't help but to give a slight wince. Well now, she was looking a bit on the rough side, wasn't she? As he felt the energy of her spirit moving away from his grasp, something that nearly caused him to grasp at her spirit as though afraid to lose it. He was glad he didn't though as a few moments later the young woman's spirit and body became one again, as they should be, and her color slowly began to return to her form, "Ahhh, good." He murmured, he wasn't usually the sort that went out of his way like this to save the living but this actually felt... nice, didn't it? To forget for a time about his own problems and pains and instead focus on someone else. When the girl's eyes opened up to took a step forward toward her, looking over closely, then shook his head, "This won't do at all, will it?" He asked of her. No, she was roughed up, bloodied up, and looking quite weak... it was something that he could aid her with, his powers were actually expressly for things like this.
Lifting his good hand to his fan he removed it from where it hung at his side, lifting it up over her, and then snapped it open. The item, quite large in size and of a rather bright color, was a conduit for his magic, helping him to better focus it. His good eye sinking close he allowed for his power to gather into his fan before he set to moving it from side to side in a slow manner, causing a slight wind to pick up around her, one that started to shine a bit, filled with a holy light, before he loosed his strongest spell 'Healing Wind'. It was going to leave him that much more exhausted then his long distance run had, especially given the time of day wasn't right for casting, he was far better at night. It would be worth it though if it were able to ease her pain. Not to mention that if she were better he would feel far better about heading off on his way once more. While he had nothing against Cedar or her sleeping friend he wasn't one for being indoors or sitting still for long in or around a town unless the weapon was teacherously poor.

Cedar's eyes took in the fan and then she closed them when the wind began. She was so tired she wasn't to sure if she could stay away but... She didn't want to miss Luciel. She wasn't able to move but she could feel his magic. She had to assume he was some kind of healing magic, the young witch felt warmth.
When Luciel's spell was cast she felt like something had been lifted off her chest. She was able to breath easier and she stretched her fingers out toward him. Cedar had a lot to learn, she was ready to give up her life to let her younger friends survive. But maybe she wouldn't always have to feel that decision had to be made anymore. If she learned more and became stronger... She would be able to maybe protect her body, herself. It wouldn't have been doable without Luciel.

As the healing spell finally ended Luciel allowed the way he waved his fan to slow down steadily before stopping it all together. He stood there, stock still for a time, and starred down at the young witch before him before he snapped his fan closed, "There you go, Cedar, all better I hope." He murmured as he replaced his fan at his side where it usually hung when he wasn't using it. Turning his good eye toward the door he'd used to come into the house he was tempted to be on his way, knowing that he was far from where he should be at time time, so used to walking along a certain path in a rather OCD manner that being so far off of his normal pace felt... strange. Instead of retreating in an attempt return to where he should be at this moment, closer to Poena Privus then Makai, he drifted toward the young woman that he had spent the previous day aiding, looking her over closer.
Her wounds had been dealt with but given how out of it she looked he was certain that she must be exhausted, after everything she had gone through was nothing that he could ever even begin to imagine. He wouldn't be shocked if she was abed for a while but at least she had that friend of hers nearby to take care of her while she was recovering. Leaning over a little closer to her he gave her a smile, "Try to get some sleep, Cedar." He would leave the woman called Eir to look after her, "I am impressed, you were very strong during our journey." She had done very well and now she deserved time to rest without him getting underfoot. Giving her hand the slightest pat he turned around, ready to be on his way.
