Oh where had her good lady gone? Noir was frantic in that she had lost sight of Pinot so quickly. The maroon leopardess was not made or raised to wander the world by herself. She was far to delicate and needy for that and as such, that was why the black female had acted as a servant to her for so long. With a quickness in her pace, she continued her search, her dark eyes looking everywhere they could possibly see with such haste. Oh what if something had happened to her? What if someone had taken her as a slave of some kind? She could think and dread what fate had befallen her liege. Worry was the last thing on the crown prince's mind as he looked to the burgundy leopardess that was walking with him. Having shown her a bit of their base camp, Heinrich had opted to take her away from it for a night under the stars. Perhaps he could woo another female into producing children for him. While he loved his sons dearly, neither seemed to be truly fit to take his throne when he died. As such, Heinrich needed to solidify his rule with extra sons and daughters just in case a disease or attack befell them once they returned to the mountains. While he very much hated living in the brush and plains beneath the mountains that were rightfully his, he mildly understood his father's thinking. He was not good enough to be king and he needed to prove himself to be a good, kind, just king to his future subjects.
Perhaps one way to do that was to take a queen, or at least become betrothed to her so when they did return, they would wed. More heirs, as he had already thought, may ease the worry of anyone who thought his line to be weak and doubt his masculinity as well as his ability to sire children. Heinrich frowned momentarily at the thought of whispers and jokes about him that might circulate or already be so if his fears were true. The frown faded quickly as he turned to the lady he was courting. "How have you enjoyed our humble abode so far?" Maybe some small talk would keep his mind from wandering to such horrid thoughts again.

Pinot walked slowly beside him, gazing up at the stars silently as they went. She had been here, in this makeshift camp, for a bit of time now. Perhaps around a week. In that time it had not been too bad, in fact it was much nicer than wandering lost around the wilds. At least here she had been guaranteed a meal, as well as protection from any ghastly beasts that might stalk up to her. Plus she had been spending it with a prince! It just couldn’t get better than that. Well, perhaps it could, but it was a lot better than her life had been buch a week previously. Pinot turned away from the stars, which she had not really been paying attention to in the first place, to look over at Heinrich as he spoke. “It has been quite enjoyable. Certainly much nicer here than off on my own out there.” She said, raising her nose slightly to indicate the lands further beyond.

"I am sure of that. Someone such as yourself should not be alone in the world, especially when there are monsters out there that would wish harm upon on." Heinrich added as his large paws carried him through the dark of night. He had enjoyed having Pinot in his company and the talk he had begun to hear was not something that could just slip him by. Many believed him to be courting the young leopardess and perhaps they were right. While he originally had merely planned to seduce her, rather then court. Perhaps instead of continuing to look for a potential queen, he could settle for the possible one that was walking with him. She seemed noble enough and some of his followers had already taken to her after such a short time. Yes, perhaps she would do.
Noir's mind continued to race, horrible thoughts continued to plague her mind far worse then they had started when there was still sunlight. Now only the light of moon and the stars were there to truly guide her. With both her mind and eyes focused elsewhere, she paid little mind to the stick her paw stepped on, letting out a crack for those nearby to hear.
Heinrich's head quickly snapped in the direction that the crack sounded from, his eyes narrowed and his full set of teeth bare for whoever dare sneak up on a prince to see. "Who goes there!" He called out to the darkness, wondering if the one who made the sound who actually show themselves. Slowly a form did appear, one of a black leopardess with white tipped paws whose head was already lowered in a submissive nature.

Pinot nodded. “Yes, the world is such a harsh and dangerous place. I am glad you came along and found me, otherwise I might surely have perished out there.” Perhaps it was not entirely true, but it certainly felt like it was at times while she was wandering around. Her gaze shifted slowly over to the leopard. She too could not help but to have heard some of the whisperings. It made her wondering if perhaps they were true. Heinrich may have had some interest in her, but surely a prince could have any woman he pleased, and someone more suited could easily walk along. Though she thought quite highly of herself she had no immediate links to royalty, she was of noble blood sure, but there was a large difference in her mind.
A noise caught her attention, pulling her from such thoughts, and she fell to a stop. Heinrich yelled out into the darkness and Pinot just stood there, somewhat fearful of what might be out there. However those feelings quickly melted away as she saw who it was. “Noir?” She called out, stepping forward to get a better look. “It is you! Where have you been?” She questioned, as she moved closer to the black and white leopardess.

"Oh my lady! I am so glad to see you again." Noir quickly spoke, her voice over-joyed as a smile spread over her face. All the worry that been piling up on her shoulder and mind simply fell away the moment she had seen her lady standing there, completely unharmed and seemingly fine. She quickly moved towards Pinot, looking her over, but with the lack of proper light, she could not see everything and things might have been hiding from her view. "I have been searching for you what has seemed like forever. Are you well?"
Heinrich quickly looked between the ladies standing before him. It was apparent that they knew one another but what kind of relationship was it that the two shared? The question was answered for him when this Noir mentioned that Pinot was 'her lady', indicating that the burgundy leopardess held rank over the black. "Ahem." He finally interjected, as he moved to the side to stand where he look from one side to see Pinot and the other to see Noir. "And just who is this?"

Pinot nodded. “Yes, yes. I am quite well.” She said, before looking over to Heinrich as he spoke. “This is Noir, she is my aide.” Pinot said as she looked to Heinrich. “She has been so for quite some time, since I..” She paused for just a moment, before continuing on. “Well since I left home. I was beginning to think her lost to the wilds.” There was a soft sigh, perhaps barely audible.
“This,” She started, looking back over at Noir. “Is Prince Heinrich. I was lucky enough to be found by him after you left. He was kind enough to bring me back here.”

"Your aide hm? I see, well she is welcome among my camp." Heinrich told Pinot but his eyes stuck on the black female before him instead, his voice kinder then usual. "Welcome Noir, as your lady has already explained, I am Heinrich, a prince of a mountain kingdom. Another among my number is always welcome to join the colony when I return." His attention finally turned to Pinot, "I suppose we should take her back and make sure she is settled, perhaps we can take our walk under the stars another time. I assume you both will have some sort of catching up to do."
Noir's eyes widened. He was a prince?! No wonder Pinot was staying with him. She knew her love for noble blood, but royal was even better. The leopardess' head quickly lowered and her eyes averted from his. "T-thank your highness, it will be a pleasure to stay within your camp." At least Pinot did not seem outwardly upset about their separation in the wild, at least not publicly. It was likely though that once they were in private, she would most likely get some sort of stern word for it.

Pinot looked between Heinrich and Noir, eyes narrowing for but a moment. She could be the suspicious sort at times, but surely someone of royal blood would not have eyes for common blood. This didn’t keep some suspicion from forming, but she pushed it aside from now, removing any sign from her face that she might have thought such. “Yes, perhaps we can.” She said, smiling as sweetly as ever. Inside she was fuming though. Her previous thoughts on the rumours she had heard, and whether or not they were true, returned. They surely wouldn’t be confirmed now, at least not on this night. However she kept cool as it would not do to lose her head in front of the prince. “Yes, we surely will have some catching up to do.” She spoke, thoguh her voice was a little more flat than previously.

Noir nodded slightly in agreement, oblivious to the wordless attention a prince had given her. Oh she would love to finally get back into the service of her lady and now said lady was in the favor of a prince by appearances! Oh how interesting this would be! Despite her excitement, the humble leopardess kept her tongue silent and her eyes away from the two of them while they were speaking to one another.
"Come then, ladies. We will return to the camp and enjoy one another's company there for the night. I'm sure there are stories to be told and thoughts to share between the two of you anyways." Heinrich smiled, unaware that his gaze upon the aide may have actually sparked anything. While Noir was enjoyable to look at, so were so many others within his camp. Perhaps if Pinot did not live up to what he had planned...just maybe he would see her again, but under different circumstances. With a quaint nod of his head, the prince turned and made his way to the camp that he and his followers currently lived.

Pinot as well was wordless as this walk, which had started out as something hopeful she excited for, and was now ending with her seething silently. She kept it hidden well though, that was at least something she was good at, and followed after Heinrich with a silent nod. Thoughts to share indeed, she thought as she followed, ignoring Noir as she set her pace to walk aside Heinrich.
