Kazei vs Dylan

Fumounochi
Barren Wastes

Otherwise known as the Barren Waste, this dry and parched land has only the skeletons of buildings, of settlements that were attempted and failed. Nothing exists in this parched land of dry, cracked soil where no vegetation grows and very little water can be found. Unwanted children are abandoned in this harsh land and only a very small percentage makes its way back through the Virgin forest and back to Rukongai, over 99.96647 percentage of those deserted or left here survive the harsh climate as rather than supplement the soul with soul particles it verily drains one of them, essentially sucking a person dry in a manner of hours. The land spreads for miles upon miles, there are mountains visible in the distance but none yet have been able to reach them in order to view what exists beyond them.

The dust that kicked up formed a large cloud as particles fell from the building and the sun beamed down. The distant sun is high as if it was noon, but the time was not a factor in this fight. Dyan walked with a large sash around his neck as its tail breeze through the wind. His right hand firmly on his kitana as half sheathed, but his guard was not down.

As Dylan strolled through the desert, he would feel a familiar spiritual pressure spread through the battlefield. "Been a long time." A cool voice whispered from behind, followed by a gentle tap across Dylan's shoulder. Standing behind Dyan was Kazei. His backed faced against Dyan's back. "You are truly a brave one. However, I cannot say the same for your skill. In order for you to be a true member of the Masked Army, I must gauge your skill. If you pass you're initiated, if you don't....well you'll know because you'll be dead." On that note, the shrill sound of both Kazei's blades could be heard slowly falling from their sheaths. "Let's go." In that instant Dyan would be greeted by three swift slashes towards the back of his neck, followed by three blade thrusts aiming for the middle of Dyan's back.

The voice sounded to familiar to Dyan as he realize the true motive of this meeting. The Mask that he obtained by mere coincidence from the husk that attacked soul society. The escape of his friends debating over his life tore threw him as he lived day by day after that. There was no turning back and no regret from then on out.

Dyan smirked at the mention of mask in his presence and was ready to take this leap. The sound of the swords slowly sliding out of the sheath gave Dyan time to grab his sash. He shun-po'd out of the way of the attacks only grabbing a piece of the tail of the sash.

As the dust picked up the nodachi had been snapped to the sheath as similar to nun chucks; by a chain which hung from his nodachi. Then with the instant of the dust cleared Dyan burst forward holding the sheath in the left hand and the nodachi in the right. The range of the long sword was at accurate striking range. Dyan's blow came from the nodachi with a striking motion, easily making his positions easily maneuverable.

"Hmph. Running already Dyan. The battle's just begun." He shrugged before turning a side glance towards Dyan. The art of hoho was something Kazei had been highly prominent in in terms of skill, however shunpo was a technique he was never really fond of. As a warrior based shinigami, consistently avoiding the enemy in the middle of battle was something he frowned upon. Unless one were to be fully depleted of all options. Kazei was more of an offensive type warrior, one who abandoned almost all defense in exchange for an incredibly powerful offense. Yes. "Let's go Dyan." He before dashing off into a swift sprint towards Dyan. Gripping both blades underhandedly,he would diagonally slash the first blade upward, aiming to strike Dyan from underneath his chin before thrusting his left blade forward for Dyan's stomach. As the the point and edges of Kazei's dual zanpakuto neared Dyan, Kazei would stopped them at mid point before they could even meet their target. "Sit upon the heavenly throne. Now let there be light." He muttered softly, causing both blades to burst forth into blinding crimson light. "Feel honored to lay eyes upon my shikai." Both blades were completely transformed. No longer in their katana states, both of them were now enormous broadswords approximately eight feet in length and one foot in length. Each of them weighed approximately ninety pounds each. Even more so the edges of both blades were devilishly jagged in zigzagged teeth like formations indicating clearly that they were designed to grind into their targets when slicing into them. As Kazei squeezed their handles, the crimson light blazing around them raged outward like flames from the deepest pits of hell itself. Sweeping and twirling both blades in the air as if they weighed nothing, clouds of sand filled the air from the air turbulence caused by the weight of the blades slapping the air in circles. "Prepare yourself." He said before motioning the blades to a complete stop. In a swift movement Kazei crossed both blades in front of his chest in an x like formation just before sweeping them outward in the same manner aiming to slice an x directly into Dyan's chest. Just from the mere sweep of the blades an air turbulence was caused from the weight of the blades as well as the force of the swing, causing mounds of sand to be lifted and and chucked in Dyan's direction. As the wielder of Saiketsu with centuries of practice, Kazei had grown used to the weight of his shikai. As a result, he had learned to use it's devastating weight as a weapon by tossing it around as he saw fit instead of letting it hinder him as any typical heavy weapon would.

Dyan noticed the blades from nowhere else but from the former division captain as Dyan was already on the move to attack. He blocked the two blades before they could get close to going upward towards the chin and Dyan's chest. He backed soon as the deadly weapons flashed from the collision from one another. Dyan's reaction time and cunning is more than what Kazei would expect. " Thats a scratch on me you might not be able to achieve ever again, by stopping your blades", muttered Dyan.

Dyan watched as Kazei suddenly summoned his shikai into broad swords which was famous for its weight and undoubting power. Dyan crotched a little and slowly slid his nodachi in its sheath and held it tightly. His left leg slowly opened as the dust lifted; by then the technique of Kazei was being launched. Dyan rolled out of the way from the massive technique and sand that followed as well, gaining himself and kazei distance. Also giving the distance to dodge any harmful chunks of earth to be easily evaded.

Juat as the technique Kazei sent when past Dyan's left foot pressed firmly into the sand causing barely any sand to kick up. Dyan held the sword and sheath by his side One hand on the sheath the other on the handle of the nodachi as Dyan closed in for a fatal blow. Dyan then stuck the sheath in the ground at a close range enough for combat, and Dyan closed into a closer battle range with Kazei. After Dyan unleashed a flurry blades. The motions caused the sound of chings and dings to rattle. The blades was strong enough to cut the very land they stood upon causing sand to kick up in the process.
